I would go to the wedding. Stick the baby in the sling and dance and have a laugh with your pals. Life is for living not sitting at home watching a baby monitor. Pretend it's a holiday and embrace it. Especially if you've paid the bulk of it already. Plus which because babies are thrawn wee buggers she'll sleep in the noisy room. Pretty much guarantee it. Dd1 used to be able to nap no bother in Costa/pub/restaurant but instantly awake in a darkened room. Whatever you do don't go and sit in the hotel room. Enjoy yourselves and just make the baby dance to your tune for once.

Took the lassies up to the fireworks. Dd1 hid her face and clung to her daddy and demanded that "Mummy kiss it better!" And dd2 slept through it then cried the whole way home (45 minutes). So. Not a total success. Dh and I loved it though!

Hoping your LO is feeling better, rrra. It's horrible to listen to. Agree with the others:straight on to 111 if you have concerns.

Off to bed now fingers crossed I won't be crossing the sticky carpet to prop up bar later.

Lilydreams · 07/11/2015 23:14

Everything- I will join you with the diet on Monday!! I'm not going to go super strict though because 1. I got very obsessed with a food diary app last time 2. I fall off the wagon far too easily if everything is restricted and 3. The talk of food on here drives me wild!! I got new running trainers for my birthday so that is my target for next week- get moving!! Agreed with DH when he is on 5.15 or 6.30 finishes that I will be on running kit ready when he gets home and he will bath DS whilst I run. Also going to ask mil if I can go round and use their treadmill- in exchange for DS cuddles I'm sure she'll say yes! Really want my fitness back- i used to do insanity at 5am and run 4 times s week pre pregnancy!

My boobs are even smaller since h stopped BF- I'm gutted!! Not enough that my bras dont fit but they feel so empty and rubbish!

Wedding- I would go personally. We went to one when DS was 2 weeks old. Granted it was a family one and only round the corner but was lovely having everyone fuss over him and as others have said he just panned out with the loudness of the reception. Also went to a 30th a few weeks ago and he slept despite having to shout to each other the disco was so loud!! I would make the drive part of the trip- stop every so often for coffe/ lunch and take your time etc.

Enjoyed the illuminations and DS was mesmerised! Bought him a little spinning light up toy thing which he is amazed by! Only got back at 9.15 though so routine out the window for tonight- probs my only the 4th time in his life he's not had a bath before bed- hope I'm not in fur extra visits to the bar tonight as a result!!

mzzzf · 08/11/2015 02:02

Am I the first in?! Balls! It looks like it as the DJ is still "testing testing 123"

Anyway, I'll have an old skool and and coke thanks.

Just cleaned up a mammoth poo and bottle fed the little monkey into slumber by my side Grin She's been super active in her sleep tonight, proper Kung fu master!!

I know I should make the effort re the wedding and if I can get the dogs sorted I will go. I've got s load of folks to call tomorrow to ask.
I think I'm not massively driven to go because the bride and groom 'met' whilst he was still married and living with his (now recently) ex-wife and his son. Cue whirlwind engagement, pregnancy, moving in together, divorce, and now wedding (in that order!). And my friend will be bride no.4, or 5, can't remember exactly. Confused BUT if the pups are looked after we'll hit the road and do it!
It's such a shame I'm not more enthused as I love a wedding!!

Can't believe mini mzzzf is 14 weeks now - wtf?! How has that totted up so quickly!

In these early hours I normally mentally plan awesome trips away. Currently I want to head to Jura, to walk stormy beaches and drink stormy whisky. Love the islands and hoping to do more of them now I'm closer!
In the unlikely right now category though I'd like an all inclusive Caribbean island holiday, hammocks, neon coloured cocktails etc or a close second is s week skiing with all my pals, hot tubs, starry skies and lots of melts cheese and champagne!!

everythingispeachy · 08/11/2015 02:15

Evening shall I get the first round in? Prosecco for everyone!

Thanks Lily. I have done weight watchers in the past and used my fitness pal etc... but not wanting to be too strict either. I have a stone and a half to lose but will be happy just to see the scales moving in the right direction. They seem to be stuck atm. Think if I cut down on the treats and move some more that should make a difference. Smile

Rrra i hope your lo is breathing ok and you are getting some sleep.

Fireworks and blackpool illuminations sound great. Together I think they would blow ds1 mind! Not been to Blackpool for years. Might have to take a trip soon. I love seasides in the winter.

Right just popping out to get a kebab, no doubt see you in a couple of hours.

Fanby · 08/11/2015 03:21

Evening evening evening! Well dream feeds in our house are a waste of shit...usually she's asleep by 8pm, first up at 2:30am. Tonight asleep at 10pm up at 3am?! I think I prefer to go to bed earlier! Bit cross really as I thought, wished, hoped she'd be up at 4:30! Obviously is not wanting me to miss my night out at Mugabe nights, what a kind child! Pour me some of that fizz Xx

everythingispeachy · 08/11/2015 04:11

Yep back again. So tired... get the dj to play some erasure to wake me up. Mzzf wow I can understand your reluctance to go to this wedding. Sounds more like a tornado than a whirlwind romance but I bet the speeches will be interesting...
I would love to go on holiday, any holiday. A weekend in Whitby would be fab as long as there are no children ruining my lie ins.
Fanby yes I found dream feeds didn't help either. I just need to go to bed earlier if I want more sleep. Easier said than done.

Dances off singing ' I tried to discover a little something to make it easier..
'

Grok · 08/11/2015 04:45

Evening peachy and mzzzf. What are we drinking?

Dd went down at 9 and I went too! I'm not so crazy cranky then to be popping into Mugabe at 4.30. Think I might hit the dance floor for one. Ask the DJ to play something peppy, will you?

The wedding sounds like a great excuse to go and have fun. I went to one last Friday as my first night away from Dd. Despite the tears from the initial separation anxiety (I'm such a cliche), I had fun. 2 glasses of prosecco taken from the lobby and downed in the hotel room helped!! Although I naively thought I'd get a lie in, forgot that my boobs would have other plans and needed to express. I even made it to 2.30 before going to bed (very early by Irish standards but better than the 10pm my friends expected from me).

The LO can't seem to hold her drink and has passed out again. I'm going to pop over to the 24 hour tesco and buy us all some feather boas. I'll be right back, someone wake up the dj and turn on the disco lights!

Grok · 08/11/2015 04:48

Oh and hi fanby, didn't see you over there downing your drinks in the corner!

Joskar · 08/11/2015 05:06

That doesn't sound like a dream wedding right enough! Still I think when you're a guest you spend so little time with the bride and groom it's more about who else is going.

We're off up to Lewis on Friday. Not the Caribbean but amazing beaches nonetheless. Got about 50000000 people to see so hopefully we'll fit in some beach time too. Dd1 is very excited about going on a "big boat"!

I'm trying to remember the last time I was in an actual nightclub. Must be 6 or 7 years. Back in the days when it would have been actually unthinkable not to have plans for a Saturday night. Mind you I think I got more sleep back then!

Nearly time for hair of the dog. Bloody Mary anyone?

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 08/11/2015 05:47

Oof just in after several hours stumbling around outside in the dark having lost my purse and mobile. Hi to fellow drinkers.

DS has been up every hour since 10. I'm exhausted and nothing bar boob and holding him is working...argh! He is crying like he's in pain though so I think it is wind as he's throwing his legs in the air and slamming them down. Little hands are like ice too.

Right I'm off to pass out in the toilets again...

Grok · 08/11/2015 06:49

I've got the beds made for whoever is too fucking tired to go home to sleep.

Giraffescandance1 · 08/11/2015 07:17

Welcome grok ! How come the hospital are still seeing you? 9 stone is a very low weight, I'm no where near it Grin

slow mmm carrot cake, I love it. I think we need a cake fridge at Mugabe nights. I have a fancy Sicilian lemon cheesecake to share around Grin

I had quite a good night, hooray it was about time! Went to bed at 9 and had two short feeds in the night before waking at 6.45. As I'm co sleeping I barely noticed the feeds, feeling much better now!

I had the flu jab on Friday, was a few pounds in Tesco and hopefully will mean I don't pass flu to the children...

I'm not planning to use bottles at all, after six months they can use a sippy cup so if I express then baby giraffe can use one of those, my dd1 never liked bottles as I think we were too late and infrequent giving them. I'm hoping to bf until age 1 as I'm too lazy and tight to buy formula Grin but it was easier that way last time too, as if you have a free and readily available milk supply then no point buying formula for me.

Let's start the Sunday morning fry ups then, who'd like pancakes and French toast?!

Tindel · 08/11/2015 08:10

Is Mugabe nights still open? J refused to settle until almost 2am and was crying from about 7pm. We're staying at my parents (typical) and were on the verge of putting him in the sling downstairs when he flaked out. Woke at 430 for a feed and again just now. Am being the bigger person and have brought him downstairs so DH can sleep. We are being quite snappy with each other - he thinks that because I go onto autopilot and just do stuff for J, it means I am less tired than he is! If I ask him to do stuff for J when he is tired, he dithers and needs to sort himself out before he can do it - argh! Not massively happy with him today.

Giraffes frankly I'd eat anything at the moment, as long as someone else made it!

sianihedgehog · 08/11/2015 08:17

Morning all, who is up for a fried breakfast? I know a place that does bottomless bloody marys or mimosas with brunch!

We've just had quite a good night, up for an hour around 3 but slept from half 10 through to 3 and the from 4 to 7.

everything I think the piss must be in the air last night! We're trying to do cloth nappies now and I think we might STOP trying to do them overnight as that 3am wakeup included changing a soaking cot right down to the waterproof sheet and washing off a baby with wee in his armpits...

Giraffes that hadn't occurred to me about sippy cups, I might be able to get away without fucking about with bottles, too!

grok 9 stone is pretty low unless you're REALLY short! I'm under that but I'm also under 5 feet tall and I seem to be struggling to feed my enormous baby without wasting away. I was around 9 pre pregnancy.

Joskar I went to a three day electronic music festival while I was 5 months pregnant, I think that was the last time I was in a club. I actually really desperately miss it - a section of my friends are electronic artists, producers, or DJs and run events. I haven't seen most of them since March and I miss them and miss the music and miss being out with a load of fucked people having a dance and talking shite. :( they all keep in touch on Facebook, and lots of them have kids of their own to chat about, but I'm really looking forward to being able to get out and see them again someday.

Clstow · 08/11/2015 08:59

Count me in for a Bloody Mary, I reckon they are in my top 3 alcoholic drinks, yum.

Weird night here... DS slept 9:30-3:30 then just had an hour here and 40 minutes there for the rest of the night. OH took him this morning so I could have an hour then brought DS back to me for feeding and he's now conked out and I'm too scared to move in case he wakes!

Yeah Slow - going on to FF as I'm back to work full time in Feb while OH has a couple of months pat leave. I'm glad I persevered with the BF but I've never really fallen in love with it and I'm looking forward to it coming to an end.

Thanks for the boob info, I reckon I'll be wanting a lift at some point as well Nolonger, I miss my pre-preg shape so much!

Not sure about a diet Everything (I have zero will power when it comes to cake) but I'm desperate to get running again as well. Can we motivate each other Lilly? I used to go 3 times a week - only short runs but I loved it and I miss it.

I haven't been proper clubbing in a while but definitely miss the late night dancing in dirty east London bars. Another advantage of going to FF will be that I can go out again without worrying about expressing and rock boobs - though not sure I'll have the stamina for it!

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Dozygirl · 08/11/2015 09:02

Ooh lily how were the illuminations? I live in St annes so u were up near me. I waved, did u see me? Heehee.

Its been dps birthday before it was mine since having piper so I had to be the first to do a card and present from piper. I failed and only got him a card. Mainly because I have no money so any money I spend on him, he would just be giving me anyway. But this now gives him a get out card for when it's my birthday. I had meant to do something sentemental for him from her but I couldn't think what to do.

Welcome grok.

Fatty boo to the bin thief. What's the bloody point, idiots.

OP posts:
rrra · 08/11/2015 09:04

Thanks for your advice all, esp mzzzf as someone in the know!

I'm not sure what to do now. DS had an ok night. Slept and fed well, despite the coughing. But after waking had some kind of choking episode. Like he had phloem stuck in his throat. Was horrible. He kept blowing saliva bubbles and was sick but again just saliva. I kept him upright and it seems to have passed now.

Should I wait and see it if happens again, or get checked out? He is still wheezy, but seems to just be on way out. You wouldn't think this was my second!!

Grok · 08/11/2015 10:45

Giraffe and Sian, I'm 5'3" so I guess 9 st isn't crazy? They said my waist was the perfect size for me though. Am convinced my huge milk filled boobs are half my weight! Was at the Hospital for follow up test - I had gestational diabetes during pregnancy so they were testing to see if it had gone (it did, yay!)

Dozy, don't fret too much. I had flu for DH birthday a few weeks ago so he got no card or gift from me or DD! It was a full week later when he got his cards, I didn't buy a gift "from dd". If you're a bad mom then so am I!

Good luck rrra, hope the LO gets better soon xo

FattyNinjaOwl · 08/11/2015 11:57

Sorry everyone had crap nights. I was up with DD who decided last night was the night she was going to sing let it go at the top of her voice....for 3 fecking hours!!!! She wouldn't stop

nolongerwaitingfornumber2 · 08/11/2015 12:55

V quickly as about to go back to bed now DD is napping and DH has DS but I bought DH a book called I love my daddy as his bday present from DD. He then got me I love my mummy in return. V cute books xx

Lilydreams · 08/11/2015 13:20

Mzzf- I'm with you with dreaming about holidays especially the skiing!! We go most years- including this year when I was 10 weeks pregnant- puking up a mountain ruins the ambience slightly! We will be giving it a miss this year though and I'm going to miss it terribly! Can't wait till we can take DS though I want him lie one of those little Italian kids whizzing past!

Giraffes you have reminded me I need to book my flu jab- usually get it free through work but as I'm not there I'll miss it otherwise and after having flu for 3 weeks a couple of xmas's ago I would never ever miss my jab again!

I was stumbling around outside the bar last night too, I don't understand how DS can literally pretty much cry in his sleep!! I love having him in our room and want to keep him in there as long as possible but he is making it difficult with all his noises! I think I get less sleep now than I did when he was having night feeds which he has dropped again the last 2 nights!

Tindel I massively hear you on the dithering DH! I purposely sneaked out the bedroom with DS this morning leaving him in bed so I can have a lie in tommorrow because it will then be my turn!haha!

Clstow- we can definately motivate each other- Mugabe running club maybe? I'm going to try to go tommorrow although not massive enthused with the weather of late! That said the first time I took up running was in the snow so I really have no excuse at all!

Rra- that sounds scary hoping he has settled down a little now and I bet you are tired from worrying all night.

Nonger those books sound gorgeous I think I will steal your idea when it's DHs birthday! Enjoy your nap!

I'm having a rare undostirbed MN whilst I wait to rinse the hair dye off my head! I haven't dyed it myself for over a year but thought I'd give it a go to save money as it was costing me nearly 100 quid every 6 weeks! I'm terrified though because last time I dyed it it was dark brown so it couldn't really go wrong- if anything it went a bit too dark almost black sometimes but that didn't look daft at least! Now I have it red and I'm scared it's going to be ginger or pink!! It currently looks like I've emptied a bottle of Halloween blood over my head eeeekk!! I may need some very large drinks in Mugabe nights later to drown my sorrows!

Fanby · 08/11/2015 14:12

Weller managed to meet our friends and babies for breakfast at 9:30am and also pack the car for our holidays without murdering each other-success!!

Lily - how's the hair??! Hope it looks awesome! Always fancied going a vibrant red!

Molly arrived on DH's birthday, therefore I don't think any present would have topped her arrival ;)

X

Lilydreams · 08/11/2015 15:02

Dozy forgot to say yes I saw you waving buenos with an espresso martini in hand right?! How lovely that you live in St Anne's I love walking along the front on a warm day- we were supposed to go this year but once I wasn't pregnant and sweaty anymore the weather was never quite right!

Fanby I'm impressed at you being or for 9.30 of have to be up at 6 to have any hope of getting us both ready and out for that time! I'm going to have to find a way though as baby massage has finished now so to make sure I still have something to do on Thursdays I've booked onto sensory but it starts at 9.30! Hair has turned out amazingly well I'm so happy it is actually a perfect colour match which is so not my luck- I'm wondering what's going to go wrong later! As happy as I am I'm abit gutted I've been paying so much so long! Doh! I went red last October and loved it so have been ever since but I should probably change pretty soon- my last hair colour I had for about 6 years I don't want to get stuck in a rut again! That is so lovely that Molly and your DH share a birthday and you can always hold one up on him as how is he ever going to get you a pressie that good!?

kbro79 · 08/11/2015 15:43

Does it make me a bad person to say with a back story like that I would go to the wedding just out of morbid curiosity? There is bound to be a few drunk relatives around to dish some more dirt? Wink Although does sound v messy so hope it all works out ok for your friend. We had a couple of young babies at our wedding and the parents said to me it was like being out with a baby sitter as so many people wanted to hold there babies. They got to eat hot food, go to the bar and have a dance whilst babies were passed around other guests. Am sure you'll have a v fun time.

So my night out was great. Lots of fun and lovely to see couple of friends have not seen since DS was born. Knocked back a couple of g and t's which have not had for a year!! Although by the time we got home my boobs we're delighted to see DS. They needed a draining bad!!

Ah gestational diabetes sounds tough. Did you have a big baby? DS measures big in pregnancy and they were worried I might have it.

We have started dream feeding DS but am not sure if it helps or not. Tempted to give it a miss and see what happens. He's often up at 4am anyway so maybe leaving him might mean he wakes earlier and then later which could feel more like a normal night for my body clock if that makes sense.

Project nap has had no success at all today but he is finally asleep on DH's lap so am going to clean the kitchen. All rock n roll here!!!

Fanby · 08/11/2015 16:18

Lily-thanks to Molly's inbuilt alarm she wakes us to start our day at 6 so used to be up and at'um early, to be fair she did give us a lie in until 6:20 this morning...Sunday is a day of rest afterall! Grin
Glad the hair looks good!!! I really need my highlights doing!

Kbro - glad you had fun!!! Totally sympathise with the boobie situ! The relief sometimes is soooo good!
So true about 'babysitters' at weddings, I'd never thought of that!

Checked into our hotel fine, we want to take
Molly swimming, so of course she's having a massive nap. She also hasn't don't a poo today so I'm slightly concerns after Friday's poonami incident...did I tell you all about that? Took her to the cinema and in the last 5mins of the film she managed to leak though her nappy, vest, dress, tights and blanket and it also ended up on my shirt and bra???! Nice....
