Buries head so deep in sand she ends up in Oz!!

TheBooMonster · 12/04/2015 19:55

ohhhh but min babies!!! POAS!!

zyla you could get a toddler mei tai? the one I have is big enough for the toddler and it's pretty easy on my back, though it cripples my crappy hypermobile hips :/

Haha, I wouldn't worry Min - I reckon they must take a while to settle down again after preg.

I've got a connecta from the sling library zyla - it's brilliant! Grin I was going to buy one but the print I want is out of stock Angry

WilHarlot · 12/04/2015 20:25

I really want to try a Connecta as a last ditch effort to find a carrier I like. We don't have a library though.

She's been screaming all day and has had three dirty nappies. I'm going to be housebound for another week aren't I? Sad

ZylaB · 12/04/2015 20:58

Think I'll see if there's a library near me to try one! :)

wil hugs for you x

Minion · 12/04/2015 21:49

wil, netflix is your friend this week. That and caffeine.

I have one very unsettled child tonight but we have pinpointed the problem. She's trying to roll over in her sleep. It's hilarious watching these little legs go up and on to their side, infuriating though as it wakes her up.
I'll be up all night with this I fear!
How long does it take for this to stop?

RPopz · 12/04/2015 21:56

Ah Min - minipopz has been doing that in the day... It kinda makes me laugh because he growls and grizzles when he's doing it. Obviously in frustration that he can't figure out the next bit yet! Grin He likes his legs at 90 degrees to his body after I've spent ages tucking him in on a night.... Angry

Pisghetti · 13/04/2015 00:08

Dear god there are some horrific noises coming out of this baby. Nappy changes have been an experience today - best get a snorkel on and get on with it.....

cookielove · 13/04/2015 01:30

Elijah is having terrible nights I think it is a combination of moving to my parents, lots and lots if attention (we get the keys on Friday to our new digs) a bad cold and he if course is teething, but now it feels like something actually might cone through! Fx we get a tooth soon.

WilHarlot · 13/04/2015 05:53

Oh Cookie that's rubbish. Hope he settles down soon. You must be dying to get into the new place. I can imagine it's stressful moving with a baby.

Grin at get a snorkel on!

We've had another good night. Although am sure this'll be me up for good now. Think it was just a case of finding what worked for her.

ZylaB · 13/04/2015 06:43

Glad it went well wil :)

We had 4and a half hours, then up for an hour feeding etc, then she was noisy for half an hour before sleeping. Had another 2 hours and I'd love a bit more after this feed, but don't think it'll hapoen. Not too bad though!

I'm giving the Moses basket away to one of the grads as H never ever goes in it, she prefers to sleep on her bouncy chair in the day and I'd rather it got some use (and wasn't taking up space being pointless in the lounge!)

pis did you surface after the snorkel? ;)

cookie hope the move goes well

FurryScoob · 13/04/2015 07:30

Good luck with the move cookie hope it settles E

I think miniscoob has a tooth on the way or a razor blade under the surface of her gum, either way she can chew her own knuckles from now on & leave mine alone.

It's my birthday tomorrow, Mr Furry has got the day off & has promised to get up with midget for the first time since she was born. Would it be wrong to keep a water pistol next to the bed to make sure he wakes up & keeps his promise?

WilHarlot · 13/04/2015 08:58

Totally not wrong Furry, birthday priviledge! Happy Birthday for tomorrow! Are you doing something nice?

Ooh you'll meet a viroid in real life zyla, how exciting!

Minion · 13/04/2015 09:44

I've got a visual of cookie moving sofas with mini cookie strapped to her back! Good luck!
Opinions needed here ladies... R has turned into an a napper. seriously, catnaps are longer. Now she's already had her post sleep nap and is on number 2, usually wakes after 30 mins (amazing what I can do now in 30 mins)! Her room faces a main ish road, lorries etc and had sun all day on it so I popped her in our bed. She's still there. She hasn't moved an inch. Even through the smoke alarm..
She's gone longer than ever (aside from yesterday), so, shall I just have her nap in our bed?

Always?
She doesn't sleep sleep in there. Don't want to go down that route after nephew troubles. Is it making a rod for my own back?
When she wakes she'll be happy And rested. I'I'll be happy as I've managed to eat and drink something.
Thoughts?

RPopz · 13/04/2015 09:50

Haha, definitely not bad Furry Smile I'm stealing that idea in fact! Grin Happy birthday Smile

Eek Pis... Hope it went well! Wink I had a curry on Saturday night and minipopz had 3 massive dirty nappies yesterday Shock Oops.

That's really kind of you Zyla Smile We never really got much use out of the Moses basket either. I've put it away now (for number 2!?!? Shock ) Makes me glad we didn't buy it tbh.

Sounds tough cookie. Understandable that E is unsettled. Hope the move goes smoothly!

Glad you're finally having some good nights Will!! What have you done differently? Hope it lasts. Minipopz is back to 3 hourly waking... yawn.

Just reading through the grad chat about bottles etc. Do you think it's a bit selfish that I've never really perservered with expressing and bottle feeding? So MrPopz has never had the chance to feed his own baby Sad

RPopz · 13/04/2015 09:51

Do it if it works Min!

ZylaB · 13/04/2015 10:18

The Moses basket is going to JCandy a week today. I haven't got as far as thinking about another and just wanted it out of the way. We're keeping other stuff though :).

Happy birthday for tomorrow furry!

popz no, just do what works for you! I do pump, but it's lie 2 bottles a week max.. Not a lot

JuniDD · 13/04/2015 10:21

Babyj always sleeps better in my bed. With me. Grin. Go for it min.

popz my baby's never had a bottle and I don't care. I love bf her and can imagine the giving of bottles would just turn into another "do I have to?" battle. Like nappies and baths.

Pisghetti · 13/04/2015 11:44

I survived Wink Bizarrely it wasn't a big poo but practically none of it stayed in the nappy. She then wee'd while her nappy was off which went everywhere Hmm this was marginally preferable to the lunchtime nappy change when she just Would. Not. Stop. Shitting!

At half two in the morning I gave up and brought her into bed. She then slept ages. Her dad normally changes her before bed so I was wondering if the change in routine unsettled her.

I got up early for the health visitor. Then realised my appointment was 3.30 not 10 Angry ah well at least I had a shower. Only managed biscuits for breakfast though Shock

WilHarlot · 13/04/2015 12:30

Yep, what Juni said. I imagine Mr Popz would love it for all of two weeks and then would start sighing. The 'selfish' thing is made up by mother in laws who want to kidnap your baby Wink Grin (feel the need to point out I'm joking for any lurker reading this).

I would use the bed if it works better Min. It used to for MiniWil but not this one. She naps best in carseat or bouncer. If you're not in the bed with her I don't think you're creating any kind of unwanted association. Short naps are quite common at this stage though. They will get longer and less frequent as she gets older.

I'm trying to kind of do your timings Popz. Trying to keep her awake until 8.30/ 9ish and let her sleep downstairs for a bit. Then bring her up before she wakes naturally so she's still really sleepy. It's only been two nights though - not celebrating quite yet.

Minion · 13/04/2015 13:21

Right my bed it is then. Don't blame her tbh, it's well comfy!
Picked up R's milk prescription last week, there was a note on the bottom saying no more scripts, from the dietician.
gave her a call this morning, turns out cause is so expensive they don't want to prescribe it any more until we know for sure it's cmi.
So bought a tub of aptamil 1, she's bloody wolfed it down, Burped easily too!
As much as I like not having to fork out for formulA. I hope this proves I was right about her not having an intolerance.
I'm prepared to eat my hat tho

WilHarlot · 13/04/2015 14:21

Let me know how it goes Min. I'm a bit stuck as can't test this one as she won't take a bottle. Which really means waiting until weaning. Total pain in the arse!

RPopz · 13/04/2015 17:06

Haha Wil!! MIL was an avid breastfeeder so I've not had that one from her. My mum keeps banging on about "when can he have a drink of juice??" etc.... Juice!? He's 3 months old!!

Ah, thanks viroids. You're probably right re it becoming a nagging point. I just wondered if maybe it'd help in the sense that he wouldn't be able to keep handing him back to me with the excuse "he's hungry" if he could feed him. But Fuck it. I love bfing too

WilHarlot · 13/04/2015 21:04

Why juice? How random. MiniWil still won't drink juice.

Minion · 13/04/2015 21:40

My niece won't either wil. She was never given it as a wee'un and now is 14, doesn't ask for it.
The devil nephew however gets given large glasses of kia -ora...

The husband has just gone upstairs to see the boss, she's awake and is now downstairs! Next door are making a racket apparently.
