kyz I have never met a rat Grin and bear no ill feelings towards them Grin
I hope your little fella feels better soon, a pet is a pet and you gotta love em
Thanks for all your congrats messages
We home chick I sneaked her past the midwives before her weight dropped and the jaundice kicked in Grin that's experience for ya!
It was another placenta abrubtion but thankfully my clever body went into labour again when it decided baby was safer on the outside than on the inside
I was 35+3 this time, 36+3 last time
But luckily another good weight for gestation, she was 6lb4oz.
Evil your poor boy! wishing him a speedy recovery

Evening.

Busy on call shift, just skim read.

Ear infection. Anti-Bs as far as I remember only help to reduce pain, but do little to alter the duration of symptoms, or numbers of perforated drums. Most ear infections are build up of fluid with gunk rather than true pustular stuff. Or something. Still rubbish tho.

Freaky eater is trying a diet without oranges in it, as we are trying to pin down the source of ongoing reflux. Watch this space.

Love mini eggs, am jealous of Sophias stash and totally understand the multiple meltdowns.

Day off tomorrow, not back in til Tuesday. I love annual leave.

PurplePidjin · 30/01/2014 23:20

Poor N evi don't forget to look after yourself too Brew

I have friends coming for dinner on Saturday Shock they're bringing wine Shock we're going for roast something - they're having building work and struggling with a hole in the kitchen - any suggestions? I will be visiting the naice and cheaper than the supermarket butcher tomorrow for supplies :o also, sweet potato pie to mil's recipe or apple crumble with apples from my parents' garden for afters?

PetiteRaleuse · 30/01/2014 23:42

pidj chicken, garlic and lemon?. Roasted with butter. Honey carrots separately (parboiled then fried in honey, served with pepper and parsley) and new potatoes chucked in the same dish as the chicken. Basted. Easy and cheap. Pud sounds lovely.

pig I thought abs killed/slowed down infection and needed to be supplemented with painkillers? Combining the two has always radically improved LO's ear whatsits. The only time her ear drum perforated was when it was an invisible inner ear infection (which due to screaming I had been calpoling religiously as was the only way to get her to eat). The others have all been visible (to the paed) from the outside, and not perforated. Touching wood. We're on day 7/10 amoxycillin here. It's teething that is messing things up right now. Fucking teeth.

Oh. Baked beans cured the constipation. More effective than lentils. Which she doesn't like as much.

PetiteRaleuse · 30/01/2014 23:43

pidj would add a simple lettuce salad with a nice dressing.

PetiteRaleuse · 31/01/2014 00:08

Insomnia. Do one.

I have stomach pain. Stress probably. Rtw etc. Keeping me up every night....

Pikz · 31/01/2014 05:00

PR that is not good at all :(

PetiteRaleuse · 31/01/2014 05:58

Nope. Neither is being woken up so damn early after so little sleep.

stunt how did your night end up?

StuntNun · 31/01/2014 07:24

The night wasn't too bad after all thanks PR Grin It was the level of noise that was worrying me as J was screaming as if he were being attacked. Once he got to sleep around midnight he managed a good three hours before he woke again. He had a long bf at 3:40 and was back in his cot at 4:30 and he's still asleep Shock. I think you may have hit the nail on the head about the Ibuprofen because I don't usually give it to any of the children but DH gave it yesterday and the day before and that's when the bedtime screaming began. It's odd though as I hoped thought J's reflux had cleared up, but he was asking for bf which might be soothing if his tummy is upset by the Ibuprofen. My MIL can't take NSAIDs at all as they make her vom. I'll hold off on the Ibuprofen and see if there's an improvement. It was a real shame I couldn't bf him last night when he was so upset but I had a glass of wine then bloody DH topped up my glass when I wasn't looking so I'd had too much to bf.

Sad

Porridge with blueberries and honey shared all about.

Sophiathestormfairy · 31/01/2014 08:33

Do you ever wish you hadn't just checked that incoming message. Hmm

Sophiathestormfairy · 31/01/2014 08:36

I might be BU. But, this girl I sort of know has asked if I will take her to the airport for half one because she is feeling anxious about getting the bus.

The airport is 1hr 15 from me, (if it is the one I am thinking of, if not is about 1hr 30) and she lives about 40 mins away from me.

In the other direction.

So I have said I can't do it.

Is that horrible. Obviously I would have to drag the boys along with me and the weather is awful. I mean really awful.

I feel terrible.

Lily311 · 31/01/2014 08:45

You are not being unreasonable.

Not sorted out anything. They have no tracks of O in the system so can't get health insurance . It's a waiting game from now on, I have the relevant papers.

We are having a lazy day today, just can't be bothered w anything.

PurplePidjin · 31/01/2014 08:51

Sophia no fecking way should you take her, cheeky cow! Shock

Pikz · 31/01/2014 09:00

Sophia I'm with PP. Cheeky cow!

Pikz · 31/01/2014 09:03

Feeling very sad today as DP away and L keeps asking for him and when he rang on FaceTime just kept kissing his face on screen.

Operation duvet going ok.

Awaiting first period since cerazette...been over two weeks since stopping. Had a could I be preggers thought as had bad ovulation pain last weekend. Doubt it after what it took to conceive L.

ditsygal · 31/01/2014 09:04

stunt poor you that sounds horrible last night. With regards to the wine and breast feeding, I remember my nct teacher telling us not to worry about some alcohol when breast feeding - that to have enough to be a problem we would have to be quite drunk and therefore probably not with the baby anyway! but obv its a personal call.
Donna sounds like you are doing fab, glad your home already.
sophia ooo porridge with blueberries and honey sounds amazing (although totally not allowed on my diet - booo!)

Sophiathestormfairy · 31/01/2014 09:13

Thanks, glad I have had my thoughts confirmed.

I heard the same as ditsy, stunt something about it having to an actual bottle of wine before it passed through but that could be absolute bollocks

Have a lovely lazy day at home lily we did that yesterday! had the fire going in the playroom all day and only ventured out on out
Thursday trip to purchase fairy house weekend treats (wine and crisps!)

Today will mainly be about getting ready for my hot Chinese New
Year date which, unwittingly, we seem to do every year! I will be all dolled up In my dress for going down In the car and then will have to bundle up for the trek back up the hill! Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 31/01/2014 09:28

YANBU soph that would be a huge favour to ask of even a close friend.

Locksmith due this morning, but was vague about the time. I left the house for 15 minutes max to take the girls to nursery and of course that is when he came. I called him, all apologetic like, and he said he would try and fit me in today but no idea when. I wanted to go get my eyebrows shaped and my legs waxed and buy some wine for this evening but now I have to stay indoors. I hope he doesn't bloody turn up while I am picking the girls up this evening.

I've been waiting for him to come since the ILs left. It was broken while they were here (MIL going out for fags every two minutes and yanking the handle). So the door can't be locked or even closed properly, can just be pushed open. We have shutters outside so that is some security at least but I really need to have it fixed before my rtw.

I have some gossip about that actually which I will put on FB.

PetiteRaleuse · 31/01/2014 10:17

So he came and looked at the door, photographed it, sent the pictures to wherever he orders the spare parts from then phoned them and they all had a good laugh about how impossible it will be to find such a non standard lock. They then phoned someone else who said they had something which might wok but it will have to be filed down and jigged about a bit so the bloke ordered it and should have it by the end of next week. Am so glad we don't live in a high crime area. if anyone wanted to force the shutters then it would be enough noise and faff to justify forcing the door aswell so not really worried. If someone did want to get in they could have done anyway but your average opportunist burglar wouldn't bother. As long as it is fixed by my rtw I don't really mind. I want ti done by then as I don't want to leave the dog in a dark house with all the shutters closed.

Lily311 · 31/01/2014 10:42

This thread needs to be killed. Who wants to have a race to finish it off?

Lily311 · 31/01/2014 10:43

O is asleep. She wanted me to play with the train track all morning. Cho-cho is in my head now.

Lily311 · 31/01/2014 10:44

And I was wondering why the Chinese letters on the top but now remembered. Sometimes I'm too stupid.

Lily311 · 31/01/2014 10:45

Watching dexter series 1, episode 1. Should I get the whole series? All?
