Thanks everyone. Ditsy, we have just dropped to one nap. He was fighting his morning nap so I have dropped that completely now. He is showing all the signs of a developmental leap and we are 3/4 weeks ish post MMR so am wondering if that is having an affect. Bar last night, he luckily sleeps very well at night.

TheDetective · 29/01/2014 17:23

Chasing, we've just been through a developmental leap. I also got an email confirming this recently Grin.

Fucking leaps. Fuck off!

Anyone else having a feeding fight? Food was O's strong point. He eats everything. Except now he's being a PITA!

Started friday, refusal to be spoon fed - but ONLY (!) lunch and tea. Happy for breakfast to be spoon fed!

In order to get him to agree to spoon feed Hmm I have to keep him still and get the bloody spoon in his mouth, while he loudly protests Hmm.

As soon as he tastes the food, he will happily be spoon fed. But it's the first spoonful that is the issue.

I don't get it! I assumed it was because he wants to do it himself. He doesn't... We tried it, he couldn't manage it and got pissed off. He just wants finger foods, but unfortunately due to freaky eater stuff, I can't do finger foods all the time.

So I guess this just means we keep on doing as we are doing...?!

I am assuming he will get over it. I know I could just say fuck it, and give him finger foods for now, but where will that get me?

He's also starting to refuse foods he liked before.

So I am offering main meal and if it is something he has happily eaten in the past, and it gets refused, then he doesn't get his fruit afterwards.

I'm on nights at the minute - sorry for prolonged absence! I have just got rid of the bastard shitty old car, and shiny new car comes tomorrow! I feel like a grown up Grin with my grown up mummy car! Eeek!

Lily311 · 29/01/2014 17:54

Yes det, food fight here too. Exactly what you describe. I don't fight with her anymore, she knows what she wants.

chasing ((hugs))

I'm too tired today, will update tmrw.

PetiteRaleuse · 29/01/2014 17:59

Hugs chasing

Tomorrow is another day.

PurplePidjin · 29/01/2014 18:31

another one who would gladly take O to the park so you could catch up Brew we had a transition like that from 2 to 1 nap but he's settled to it now

Det r is like that when over tired or overly hungry. Once he gets the first couple of mouthfuls in he's fine, but i have to hold his face to persuade him which i hate Sad

R finally has all 4 bottom front teeth. Not sure how many molars but at least 2 Hmm I've also put him down in a paper bum plus vest and pj's instead of his mammoth bamboo fitted + wool longies. Wonder if it'll help? He woke at 4:45 this morning for a change because of the strong teething wee (nappy was wet but not drenched and the smell was eye watering!) will sainsbugs own help him sleep through that do we think?

TheDetective · 29/01/2014 18:44

Thanks for the reassurance. I'd googled and figured it was normal.

As it happens, he had dinner after my last post, and it was stew which he loves. He was fine - no resistance today!

I nearly had a melt down when out with him on saturday as there was no way I could pin him to get the spoon in in public with judgey arsed knobbers around!.

We've just got tooth number 8, so have all 4 front ones. Awaiting the dreaded molars :(

I have to share this - I don't know if to be mortified or proud! O just did the full dance to Makka Pakka's song. The actions, the clapping, and the turning around. It's tickled me to my core!

He's also suddenly MASSIVELY in to books, after no interest ever before. He wants the same one over and over Each Peach Pear Plum! and will hit you with the book til you cave Hmm.

Donnadoon · 29/01/2014 19:18

Dd massively into books here, which is handy at the mo
She had some Xmas money so we book a load of touchy freely books off amazon
That's not my bunny!
That's not my teddy!
That's not my dolly!
That's not my monkey!
You get the picture ;)
She loves them

ValiumQueen · 29/01/2014 19:58

DH finally had his eyes tested today. He has a tumour on the optic nerve, so has it measured each year and it is still the same size whoop whoop!

I am so tired I do not know how I am functioning. I nearly came home from work today. BrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrewWineBrewBrewBrewBrewBrew

TheDetective · 29/01/2014 20:11

We've got the bunny one! Grin

Congrats Donna I just caught up a little! Hope you are home with your little bundle! Grin

VQ Awesome about DH! Not so awesome about being so tired.

I admit, I am struggling with tiredness due to nights/days/generally running around like a blue arsed fly, but I have a baby who is currently on the sleep list. I couldn't function (to any level) working and getting fuck all sleep. You are superwoman, you know that, right?!

ValiumQueen · 29/01/2014 20:19

I don't feel very super, but thank you.

BigPigLittlePig · 29/01/2014 20:21

Oh vq you poor thing. And chasing. It sucks. Have some v strong Wine.

Sophia I'm glad you found a good group. I really miss my baby groups. Need to find something locally for the Mondays I have off, as I'm sure F would love it. Shame about work though.

Sorry to hear about Ns bumps, Evil. Hope he's ok.

Glad you've got the court order Lily. Is there v much else that needs to be done now, or can you lay it all to rest?

So F has learnt an awesome new dancing skill - head banging! She already bops on the spot, and does the twist but has just started wildly banging her head. Hilarous! Shall try to get a vid for fb over the weekend. Apparently she has spent much of today at nursery perfecting the art Grin

PurplePidjin · 29/01/2014 20:29

we have pirate and angel, both df's choices. Current favourite is one that cost 10p at a car boot, has a flap missing, and is called "where's puppy" possibly because it's the only one that i don't make him be careful of Hmm he also likes hairy mclairy and what's the time thomas!

Wine for vq

Music group tomorrow, I've just spammed up a load of fb groups, hope i get more than 1 this week Sad I'm hopeless at self-publicising Sad

BigPigLittlePig · 29/01/2014 20:41

Good luck Pidj.

Fs fave book is That's not my santa. We read it evey day. Dear zoo also a big hit, when she lifts the frog flap she growls lol. Strange child.

PetiteRaleuse · 29/01/2014 20:51

There was a v funny MN thread once about that's not my... Books. We have a few. The Usborne touchy feely Nativity one is quite sweet too. A gift from my mum. I haven't explained anything religious to the DC at all though DH might one day. We're still undecided about baptising them even. I am against making promises on behalf of a baby, but DH thinks they should be baptised in case they want to marry in a Catholic church one day. Which for me isn't good enough a reason to do it. I'm spiritual I guess but not in the traditional religious sense. DH is a believer but not a practicer.

Change of subject. DD1 has been displaying some slight behavioural issues at nursery. Nothing serious, just a fear of going to the loo in front of people. She isn't worried about that here, in fact she quite happily pulled her potty into the kitchen and pooed when I was cooking for our guests a while ago.

DD2 has been showing signs of withholding pooing (maybe peeing too but who can tell) and getting quite distressed when she needs to go.

The nursery workers have been chatting between themselves and have realised that neither were like this before the xmas break, but both started this behaviour on return to the nursery at new year. Coupled with DD1's strange comments about MIL they took me aside this evening to ask questions.

Now, MIL does have a toilet obsession and did threaten to spank DD1 if she had an accident Hmm (don't worry, afaikshe never actually spanked her despite threats) but from the sparse details I was willing to give them they think both girls are channelling their stress from the events into toilet issues. Apparently this is a common outlet for stress.

They say it is too much of a coincidence to be something else.

Anyway next week and the week after they are both off nursery as DH is off and we are going to fill their days with fun in the last two weeks before my rtw (!). Hopefully we can get them sorted.

Pikz · 29/01/2014 20:54

All L wants is books.

The ladybird baby touch ones and what can rabbit here and what can rabbit see by Lucy cousins and dear zoo are favourites. He would literally be read to all day long.

BigPigLittlePig · 29/01/2014 20:59

The book obsession is funny. Since the arrival of the new bookcase, F is in heaven. She crawls onto your lap with book in hand and waits. And waits. And waits until you give in.

Can't believe how many of the quichesters are having more babies. Makes me dead broody, but now isn't the right time. Have to wait until this training is finished. In 2 yrs. Hmm.

Elizadoesdolittle · 29/01/2014 21:21

Chasing Ouch for being up since 3am. Hope O sleeps well tonight for you.

We have "that's not my bunny" too. And tiger/train/penguin/reindeer/duck and fairy. In my defense I didn't buy them all. In fact the only 2 I bought I got for 25p each in my local charity shop. Tedious to read but the good thing is that they are so simple that DD1 can read to them to E which is lovely to watch.

Elizadoesdolittle · 29/01/2014 21:24

Oh and how can I forgot we also have.....

That's not my husband

BigPigLittlePig · 29/01/2014 21:32

That's brilliant Eliza!

PetiteRaleuse · 29/01/2014 21:33

:o

Shouldn't laugh. DH is much better with napoies than me Blush

Maybe that IS my husband. With hair.

PetiteRaleuse · 29/01/2014 21:55

chasing was it you who asked if you taking daily ibuprofen was safe? Yes, mainly, as long as it is on a full stomach. I managed plenty of nurofen over the years with no ill effect. The nsaid I took post emcs was a step up and despite full stomach was too much and almost bumped me off. I'm no longer allowed even anti inflammatory heat cream for my back or a nurofen for period pain. So just putting in a note of caution. I think nurofen and aspirin should be prescription only but I'm an nsaid fascist nowadays :)

applepieinthesky · 29/01/2014 22:50

I've been looking at houses to rent in our area as when we have more children we will need a bigger place. I'm gobsmacked at how prices have risen in the last few years. There are no three bedroom houses for less than £775 per month. Looks like we are stuck where we are. Will be a right squeeze with two kids and a dog though (sigh)

Wish I could persuade my parents to rent their house to us. They want to move this year but are selling up. I've tried convincing them they would be better off renting it out for £600 per month. Their mortgage is only £300 so they could easily make profit each month to go towards their rent on another place.

GTbaby · 30/01/2014 00:26

H is so up and down with food. He loves spitting it out ATM Confused stressful
He loves digestive biscuits. And will say Biss in a hissy snake way until I cave. Also my sis had him today. He kept saying baar(to go out) but it was raining so they couldn't go for a walk. He got upset and kept hitting his head on the floor! New one to me. She called me in a bit of a panic not knowing what to do. Told her to distract him with his fav song or done pans and spoons to play with.

She also put him in the naughty corner..(for spitting). Which I thought was hilarious and so did he, he thought sitting on the stool was so much fun and wouldn't stop laughing.

He is developing a cheeky side. Very funny...for now!

GTbaby · 30/01/2014 00:41

Wtf loui is beating me by 200 points on ffw. I mean wtf

GTbaby · 30/01/2014 00:48

Ok I need the quiche Dr. As I can't work out what to google.

Yesterday I had what I thought was indigestion. Took reenie feel the same. Feel very sore around my stomach area, above belly button below bra line. When I deep breath in like a yawn it hurts. Never felt this uncomfortableness before and not sure what it is to then treat it.
