Thanks BOB!! Love the stream title - hope that last one's not a swear word now Wink

babyonboard · 01/06/2006 10:42

How about..for the first posts we all do a brief recap of what we and the babies are up to? i.e returning to work..ttc..weaning..sitting/rolling etc?

deal..or no deal?

OP posts:
Diege · 01/06/2006 10:50

Deal!!! OK brief resume...Libby will be 7 months on 7th June. Doing well on a variety of solids, drinking from cup too Smile. Sitting up ok, though needs wedging in Grin. Not rolling yet, can you believe Shock, but attempting odd looking sit-ups to try and get her top half off the ground Grin. I'm back at work, L settled into nursery, and looking forward to the next few months as this is when they start to get REALLY cute!!

Rodeo · 01/06/2006 10:52

Morning :)
Well done Bob!! Ah do you call him Oz for short? How cute!
Did read allthe last posts from the last thread but have forgotton most of it now! L&Smum, LOL at dh's patio project, Beks, you are right, working til 12-2am would be awful - I only did one or 2 nights, but it was really tiring, full time would be too much. Hope Tom gets better for you soon. Chacha, you'll have gone now but have a nice time.
Hello Brownie! How's work going??
Will try and cut the swearing down, but I won't promise anything!
Right loads to do will be back later x

babyonboard · 01/06/2006 11:01

Oz (or oz-dog as dp calls him) is onto semi solid food..but introducing finger food seems a long way in the future..he loves and gobbles up any food I give him..
He babbles or giggles constantly..can roll and crawl at dangerous speeds! yet he shows no sign of being close to sitting up, though he has a very straight back..

I am loving being a mum..best job ever! but still hoping to get a part time job..in the meantime I am embroidering/screen printing funky things onto plain cotton baby clothes/mitts etc with the hope of selling them on ebay, to local shops etc..

OP posts:
Rodeo · 01/06/2006 11:05

Jess is 8 months on the 10th June, loves all her food - with a passion! Nothing (yes nothing Shock) has been refused yet. Loves her finger foods too (bread & chocolate spread a real winner Blush) but can't get it down quick enough. Only having 1 breast feed now at bedtime, but is very good now with her bottles and loves them, so think that 1 feed will disappear soon
Not crawling but trying v. hard, up on hand and knees and can swivel whilst up on hands. Sitting quite well, but I can't leave her on her own or she'll get a face full of carpet.
She's still only about 15-16lbs, just growing out of 3-6 month clothing. Her hair is starting to grow through (brownie colour, sometimes looks a bit reddish, but a bit short to tell for definite). Her eyes are a funny mix of Brown/Blue, MIL loves to tell people about her indistiguishable eye colour ('well in some light's they're brown, but then they can look blue......blah, blah, blah!').
She enjoys playing with her sis & bro, not into her bouncer really, loves scratching faces, loves an old tatty Fimble toy that isn't even hers.
Erm....think that's it :)

Rodeo · 01/06/2006 11:08

Oooh are you bob??
Can you show us? You have 3 ready-to-order customers (if not more!) on here already Grin

babyonboard · 01/06/2006 11:17

oooh..hadn't thought about touting my wares to you ladies..lol

but I can't tempt Diege..shes going cold turkey! lol

I'm going to set up a web page soon, so I'll give you the link then..unless any of you want to put in customised requests?
I can do almost anything..and either on cheap cotton..or organic..or inbetween.lol

OP posts:
Diege · 01/06/2006 11:18

From my office dungeon I am getting pyschic message from mumsnet that there is potential shopping opportunity!!! Yes BOB, show us your stuff and wait for the orders to flood in!!

Diege · 01/06/2006 11:19

Gosh that really was pyschic of me eh!!! (I'm off the wagon again, lol!)

babyonboard · 01/06/2006 11:26

teehee..diege..
i bet you have your computer set to alert you at the menion of shopping on this thread!

I should have my pictures and the web page done in the next couple of days as I have a friend looking after O..

but if you wanted anything specific I can do my best..I ripped off 'no added sugar' and made my friend some scratch mits with 'love' and 'hate' on them..so fun!
and the other things I've done have been pop art style polka dots and strips onto t shirts, vests etc, some appliqued and embriodered summer blankets in various designs.. and a few stylised floral print things (skirts..bibs etc)

I don't have the time to make things from scrtach so have been getting wholesale unlabelled basics and working on them..i'm quite proud of them so far!

if you wanted you could buy something..post it to me and tell me what to do to it..hehe

OP posts:
Rodeo · 01/06/2006 11:32

Love spots and stripes Bob! Right really must get going!! BTW don't like the new look boxes above posts!

browniechick · 01/06/2006 13:09

Hey All! Quick sneaky post, whilst at work! BoB - thanks for new thread!

Beks - We tend to keep T as Thomas (although fully aware it will be shortened when he is older) I like the name as is though, so I will probably always call him Thomas, until he says - don't Mummy, you're embarassing me!!!! Grin He slept through again last night! Bless him, woke up at 6:30am this morning, to hear him blowing loads of raspberries in his cot! It made me smile Smile he is soo cute!! How cool about the Brownie Annuals! Things have certainly moved on since I was in Brownies - we had brown bobble hats and a "nice" brown dress Grin

Ooh - brief update (nearly forgot this bit!!!):
Thomas was 6 months on 25th May. Now eating 3 "solid" meals a day, although not solids as we know it iyswim (still pureed!). He is sitting up for reasonable periods of time with no real support (although am always on hand in case he plops one way or the other!). He rolls both ways, and is now quite happy on his front for longer periods of time. No sign of crawling yet - but it is only a matter of time! He is much more alert and interested in his surroundings. Not 100% sure on wieght (as can't get to clinic, as he is at nursery & I'm back at work)
Me - I've been back at work for around 5 or 6 weeks now, and it feels like I have never been away! I just have even more to fit into each day!
Not TTC at the moment - want to fully get over this one first! Grin give me a couple of years - might think about it in 18 months or so.

Not sure there is much else (stop now - that's enough I hear you cry!!!) But will probably think of something, at somepoint!

Brownie & Thomas

babyonboard · 01/06/2006 13:35

Shock BOB!!!! Just looked at them all, they all are beautiful!! Can't believe you have kept this brilliant talent from us for so long - that's very naughty Grin (although wanted to tell the 'Why Marilyn?' woman to boil her head and get some style! LOVE the use of Marilyn myself)

Diege it is all here - \link{http://mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1700&off=0&tot=2502\bob's gorgeous stuff!!} (look at all the homemade baby stuff and the dress stuff)

Evening all,

Had forgotten how tiring a day in London can be.. everything went well though, we arrived on time, spent the morning in Costa, gave LO breakfast and then did some window shopping. Nova - I popped by LG on the way home to see the old neighbourhood, it was a nice trip down memory lane.

BoB - I am so impressed with your talents, you dark horse you!! You must set up shop now! I can't big it up enough, really, maybe you could start an ebay shop as well as own website etc. What a fantastic venture and lots of interested MNers too, well done BoB :o Very happy for you.

I will do my update later. Great new thread, hurray!

BEKsmum · 01/06/2006 20:11

Hello

Bob wow what great stuff, love the ideas, good luck with the new business venture - I take it with this much positive feedback you will be taking it further? By the way I've e-mailed you details for the meet up on the 8th, hope you can make it.

Chacha I've spoken to Londoner & Tex via e-mail and they are both up for the 20th - we just need to decide where and what time now.

Right as for the update. Thomas is 7.5 months old, he can sit up unaided without too many games of baby left baby right, he can scream so loud he makes dogs wince and can happily roll over in both directions, but still gets the hump when he can't do it perfectly. Thankfully he's absolutely nowhere near crawling and I'm definitely not encouraging it. He has two bottom teeth and a great rapport with his big brother who loves him to pieces. He eats for England weighing in at 21lb 14oz and only refuses his mothers cooking. He loves his bouncer, his giggle stick and cloths to suck on and cover his face with - all very worrying but hey who cares as long as he is happy. I'm a SAHM and plan to keep it that way for as long as I can get away with it but dh is bugging me to go back to work at night. Is that enough!!!Grin

Brownie we must be about the same age then although I think they'd abandoned the bobble on the hat when I got there!

Right off to do I don't know what, probably stuff my face with mint aero yum yum, speak to you all tomorrow Beks

GarfieldsGirl · 01/06/2006 20:39

Hiya Smile

Diege - I'd have done the same at the park (and have done) so good on ya!
Rodeo - glad you had a good time in Madrid, Jess - go girl!!
Nova - an upgrade - how nice!
Bear - sorry to hear you're going elsewhere. I'm sure if I was to look back at my posts over the past week I'm sure there'd be some very offensive stuff there, and I'm sorry if it's me thats caused you to feel this way. Please be assured that if there is, this is not normally me, I'm just really struggling to cope at the moment, SORRRRRYY Smile
BEKs - I don't blame you re work and DH, fully deserved whinge I think.
L&Smum - lol at your patio taking 3 years so far to build!
Great title Oskar!
Wow BoB - your stuffs great, little shoes are sooooo lovely!

Started replying on previous thread, Doh!!
Phoned MIL yesterday, she's really angry with DP about his drinkning and how he's been treating me. She's probably been on the phone telling SIL and BILs whats happening!
Got my car back...wahoo!! Legoland tomorrow, I think I'm more excited than Owen!

Will post this, then do my baby update...
