Diege · 09/07/2006 15:47

Afternoon!!! Having a quiet one here, dh has taken dds out to mil (phew!), so that just leaves me and Libby . Nice to push her round the village without buggy board/toddlers etc!!! Sort of watching the tennis (my mum has major crush on Nadal ; how sad is that??
Wow GG, 9 kids eh!!! I remember BEAR wanting 15! Agree, 4ish is a nice number, biggish but not enough to get you in the papers !
Think we will probably go for no. 4, but will def. wait until dd2 is in school (sept. 2007), but not too long after that as I will be 37 next year,so want to give ourselves a bit of trying time . Nice to think Libby won;t (hopefully) be my last baby, sort of keeps things exciting in a strange way
Meant to send my best wishes to TWINKE too. You've had such a tough year, though little Josh is so gorgeous. Assume you're back now from Malta?? Perhaps we could fit a meet-up in Lowry before end of July????? (look, I'm doing TWINKLE ?????????? now!!!!!!!)
Speak later,
Diege

LaylaandSethsmum · 09/07/2006 20:33

Hi everyone! Came back from France on thurs had a really fab time though can't say i'm thrilled to be home the weeks went soo quickly and am still snowed under with washing!

Can't believe how much has gone on since I went away! TWO new babes on the way!! Huge congrats Cha Cha and BoB when are you both due then? Hope you're not going to desert us for another antenatal thread now!!

Welcome back Londoner its lovely to see you again. have to say I didn't think you'd stay of forever ! Also BAM good to see you again too.

BEKsmum · 09/07/2006 21:41

Hi ya L&Smum, must admit I'd been wondering where you'd got too - must have missed or forgotten the bit about you going away - glad to hear you had a good time though.

Diege hope you enjoyed our afternoon of peace & quiet, it gave you time to recover after your terrible day at work on Friday Have you finished your marking now then?

Bob I can make the following week so as long as it's ok with Londoner too, e-mail me your address and I'll pick you up.

Had a nice day today, ben went horse riding for the first time and really enjoyed it although it's flaming expensive so he'll only be able to go once or twice a motnh I think.
Then he went to the pictures with his friend and her dad, the little beggars decided to sit down on the escalators for some reason, his friend tumbled off the end but Ben wasn't heavy enough to do this and very nearly got caught up in the escalator apprently, but thankfully the dad pulled him out rather sharply before he got hurt. It scared all of them I think, but hopefully Ben will have learnt his lesson now - we're going through a stage of doing things becasue our friends do and it's driving me nuts

Right off for a bath and an early night, hope you are all well Beks

Diege · 09/07/2006 23:05

HI L&Smum, BEKS, and everyone else!! Just off to bed, after (yawn) more marking. Still have hundreds to go (I know BEKS, totally unjustified 'day off' on Friday , and feeling mildly panicked now, but hey must plow on...
Sounds like you had a relaxing time L&S, and must admit I smiled BEKS at the escalator story - used to do things like that myself , and still feel the odd urge at times.
Right, bed is calling...
Night!

babyonboard · 10/07/2006 00:10

ChaCha · 10/07/2006 08:38

Good morning ladies,

Hope everyone is well. Work all finished here so looking forward to a fairly relaxed day.

On thought ladies don't postpone the meet up on my part, with the way i'm feeling now I don't know if I'm up for the trekking across underground with DS. Have been feeling a bit groggy the past few days. Is hard to say as I'm so up and down...you know how it is.

Hi bob - Hope you're feeling well. Have a private scan booked in for Thursday, am quite excited about it. Talk soon x

Rodeo · 10/07/2006 10:33

Morning!

Just having a quick break - downstairs is done, just need to tackle upstairs!
Welcome back L&Smum, yes we must meet up soon, maybe before the kids break up? Sounds like you had a lovely time Is S crawling yet? Did you manage to stop him mastering it for your hols?!Diege, when are your holiday dates? Whe are you going to Portugal? Just that I woke up last night thinking of it and wondered if it clashes with Stratford? Think we might be camping in RH Bay the weekend 5-7 Aug (depending on te weather!), can't quite remember you're hol dates so may bump into you
Chacha, enjoy your day, hope you're not feeling too ill. Scan on Thurs - how exciting! Just imagine if they said 'It's twins'!!
Beks, Joe is definitely the same with copying friends, when he comes out of playgroup him and his BF make a bee-line for the playground and it's such a pain as they refuse to get off, the pests!
Hello Bob How are you feeling? Are you getting any sickness?
GG, 9 babies! There's a lady near us who has 8 girls and 1 boy, all I think of is all the washing and shopping she has to do! How many would you like? 4 is a nice number - I like Diege's analogy!
Right, speak later, upstairs to tidy..........

Diege · 10/07/2006 11:24

Morning Hope everyone is well, and babaies/beanies thriving!!
RODEO: We leave for Whitby on Sat 5th, so may well be in the Robin Hoods Bay region on the Sun/Mon. Do you fancy meeting up, or do you have a very packed itinery?? Would be nice for the children to meet, and us of course !! Portugal is the end of Aug. Think I mentioned that we wouldn't be back from Whitby till 12th, so 13th in Straford might be a push travel-wise . Good luck with your house cleaning, you are good..
CHACHA: how exciting, a scan already!!! How many weeks are you now?? Oooh it's going so quickly!! (not like you must think so, if you're feeling grotty...know what you mean about the highs/los.
BOB: thanks for the compliment about my age . People often mention that I do look younger, which used to be a source of consant irritation whe I was in my teens, but now of course is gratefully received !! .
Right, must get on, though boss is away today...

ChaCha · 10/07/2006 11:34

I don't know how i managed to miss last night's posts A belated welcome back L&S Mum, glad you had such a lovely time, did the kids enjoy it? Well, L anyway? Thanks for congrats too, I have joined a-natal thread but only because i don't want to bore you all with my PG goings on when we're meant to share baby stories and the like!

Beks - at Ben!!! Of course, wasn't his fault, those other kids made him do it!! Horseriding sounds fab! Will be a nice treat for him once a month anyway, something to look fwd to!

Rodeo - WEll done, am still trying to get living room clear of clean washing, mess, and more mess. Am actually now sat having 5 on here, with Chicago lovely triple cheese pizza while DS does his mad dance in bouncer!

Diege - Just think...the sigh of relief when all marking is done. Can't believe i've done my transcriptions [phew] i want to celebrate.
Think I am only around 8 weeksish. Will know more at scan.

Yummm....yummmmm

Londoner · 10/07/2006 11:46

Hi, just popped on to see about this week..... aww, ChaCha, I have to say I did think it a bit of a mission for you! It's a long way, perhaps we could meet up like before if you still want to come to London? Is your dh driving? Otherwise, of course, completely understand your not coming, even without you being pg it would be a mission.
BoB, lol at you and BEKs doing handbrake turns in joyrideresque fashion to my house, ha ha ha ha, lol!
And I knoooow, Diege looks at least 10 years younger I agree!
Diege, at how much you got done the morning of your 'day off', super fly girl! Hope your papers get marked surprisingly quickly this week, am v.impressed at you being able to mark these things.... didn't even get as far as doing them myself. Lol at Libby crawling on her back.... that's what Elizabeth has been doing! She's only just realised she's been doing it the wrong way up... Libby is not alone! It looks bloomin ridiculous doesn't it? And then they look at you all proud "look what I can do Mum!" and you're like, clapping 'clever giiiiirl!".... doh!
ChaCha, so excited about your scan..., hope you have restful day today, well done for completing your work stuff.
BEKs, about escalator incident, you poor thing hearing about that. Glad Ben is alright.
Hi Layla&Sethsmum! Good to hear from you.....
re: me back on MN, yeah, I was kidding myself wasn't I.... addiction still in full force..
Rodeo.... you've already done downstairs? I'd better get my skates on... looks like you all manage to juggle MN and RL better than I do.

Hi to everyone!
Festival was ACE! Slept on a converted bus, best nights sleep in weeks! Was lovely having breakfast in galley seats, I love buses! ............. have told dh I want one for xmas...........

Londoner · 10/07/2006 11:48

Cross posts, Diege/ChaCha.....

Rodeo · 10/07/2006 11:56

Diege, oh good! thoght you were up that way on those dates! Would be great to meet up, didn't want to push ourselves on you on your hol - hence the 'might bump into' line Think we'veput off Stratford til early Sept now, Aug too busy! Give us something to look forward to when Summer holidays are over anyway!
Chacha, pizza?! We'll forgive you, you are pg - you'll probably be spewing it up later! And you won't be boring us with you pg talk, but agree it'd be lovely to join an antenatal thread - have to say our's last year was really great, made my last pg really special
Right, really must start on upstairs - I can't see my bed for piles of clothes

Rodeo · 10/07/2006 11:59

Londoner - Good weekend LOL at bus for Xmas!

ChaCha · 10/07/2006 12:17

Well 2 smallish pizza's later and I'm stuffed, cannot move and am going to take advantage of DS's nap time to do NOTHING! although i must because although i've stuffed my face DH will want lunch...and not pizza.

Londoner - I had a look at underground map and where i assumed you would be (will mention this on Y) and thought, yikes, that looks like a trek! Still to find out where DH is actually working in London though, he might be city centre, will see.
At the moment a trek is carrying DS up and down the stairs, i'm just so tired today, my body is craving stodge and sleep.
I must get on with life in Real World but am so lazy....

p.s. Diege i dont know how you do it, must be retail therapy and frequent pampering treats at salon etc that keep you going. I would be burnt out by now, well done!

twinkle1 · 10/07/2006 13:23

afternoon all,
Hope everyone is well
Diege suggest some dates I need some retail thearpy
twinkle

ChaCha · 10/07/2006 13:33

Hi Twinkle, How's everything? I don't usually get a reply from you or LILJ as you hit and run!! [The post message button that is] It doesn't look like you've caught up with the rest of us but we have all been asking after you and hoping that things are okay. x

Diege · 10/07/2006 13:40

Afternoon!!Have made good progress this morning, so time for little rest I think!
TWINKLE!!! Will check calender when I get home tonight, and post a few dates, probably to meet on a Friday if this is OK?? Will let you know asap , and the Lowry is always good for a bit of retail therapy !! And Subway of course !!
CHACHA: yes, the treats keep me sane; even little things like a new magazine, or looking forward to reading my book in the evenings (ok, watching BB/any other crap ) Sounds stupid I know, but little 'rewards' keep me looking forward, and not too bogged down in what can seem real drudgery at times!!
LONDONER: Your weekend sounds fab ; am loving the idea of sleeping in a bus (well, just sleeping would be good! ). Jasmine is obsessed with double decker buses (probably because we never get them, only the drop-down single deckers due to pram). There's one in Scarborough that's been turned into a playbus type-thing. Hell on earth should your child get stuck at the top, and also liable to suffocate too as the windows are sealed, but hey it's her dream to go back this year! Am so glad E is a back-crawler too, as was starting to get a little worried that Libby seems to be missing out the regular milestones! (ie. still not rolled) She is sitting up unaided though, so seems ok (had a bit of a 'moment' thinking there may be something wrong with her back, as she has a tiny unclosed dimply-bit on her back that was noted at birth that's normal-ish, but you know how you start thinking??.
RODEO: I did smile at 'may bump into you' - like we would have been so 'casual' about things after out Operation MH/London!!! As long as we're not 'crashing' on your plans, a meet involving cakes/coffees somewhere in RHB would be great - there's also that park at the very top of the hill??
Speak later!
Diege

Londoner · 10/07/2006 14:17

Diege, lol at Jasmine and the Playbus.... and glad to hear you're making good progress with marking now.. Am with you on worrying about kids.... there's always something isn't there? What did they say to you about Libby's dimple?
Have friends with kids with one too (completely normal developmentally) but don't know much about them myself.
Rodeo - 2 things.... think I have been answering some of your posts in my head... one was a post I lost and then ran out of time to do with ds2 and dd1... they do play really well together, but have a complete love/hate relationship so are either laughing their heads off together or shouting and having a punch up together...... either way I suppose you could say they're very close... oh, and they profess to hate eachother..... secondly, yes dd1 does carry the baby around although I encourage her to stay inside with her rather than in the garden.... but I'm okay with it as I remember doing the same with my little sister(I was 6 when she was born) and how strong and capable I felt... think Kitty is the same with E. Hth, you are the best judge not mil.....x

Rodeo · 10/07/2006 16:30

Afternoon,
J is upstairs having a late nap, and the others 2 are somewhere, in the garden I think
Diege, my nephew had a dimple just at the top of his bottom and the doctor said it was a bottom hole (can't bring myself to type the anatomically correct word for some reason!) that developed, then closed up and went on to develop in the right place in the womb - is that what Libby has got? Do you think top of the hill would be better? The hill down is such a killer (esp. with pushchairs!) but it is v.nice down at the beach Maybe Whitby would be easier? Thinking aloud now and we've got plenty of time to decide!
Londoner - thank you for answering my question! Have to say I did worry a bit, thought your 'silence' on the carrying matter was not to hurt my feelings (ie 'you mad irresponsible woman!) LOL! Good-o, glad Kits likes to carry E too
Chacha hope you've managed lounging on the sofa/bed this afternoon, BTW can't wait to hear scan news Not that you'll find out this time but do you think you'll find out the sex this time? Can't remember if you did with Z or not...
Right (why do my last sentences always start with a 'Right,'? - must stop it) must make a start on dinner, I'm doing broc & cauliflower cheese tonight - my comfort food! I've been eating like a pig recently, and it doesn't help when my sister is doing really well on her diet/exercise regime! SAhe's lost a stone in about a month, the cowbag. Might have to start sneaking full fat milk in her tea. Or butter.
Speak later x

babyonboard · 10/07/2006 17:31

Another short post..only read a couple of posts and the monitor is making me feel naseous..lol
Londoner - we have booked to stay in a 'room' on a routemaster bus for 'the big green gathering'..I can't wait, it sounds lovely! glad you enjoyed your weekend.
x

Londoner · 10/07/2006 19:53

BoB, wow, sounds fantastic, who's playing? How did you get to book space on the bus? Wonder if it's the same company doing it.... if so, look out..... sprung mattresses, duvets with white cotton covers, fans, and a fridge... oh, and fresh flowers..... er, not that I wouldn't loved to have slept in our old tent..
Rodeo, comfort eating... are you okay? Thought I sensed you might be feeling a bit down recently and then you mentioned comfort eating.... [[hugs]]]
Lol at 'cowbag', ha ha ha... and slipping butter into sister's tea, you're so funny!
Boy am knackered...... house is bombsite full of tents/sleeping bags/cool box and unpacked bags...... come on Londoner, you can do it! Have a good night all, off to cut Kitty a fringe... arg, now where do I begin, never done it before.......

GarfieldsGirl · 10/07/2006 20:11

Londoner - stick a bowl on her head! . Only kidding, that would be cruel, he he!

browniechick · 10/07/2006 22:06

Hello! Just nipping on quick whilst the ads are on in the Baby MindReader! I have got quite hooked on this, and it's the last one tonight !
Rodeo / Diege - yes, think we'd settled on Early Sept for Stratford meet (phew, that gives me a while to plan!) Am just trying to get my head round all the things I ned to do for Brownies tomorrow night! (last week of term, and having end of Term BBQ, and also one of my helpers is leaving to go to Uni!!)
BoB / Chacha - glad to hear things are progressing nicely with the Beanies!, can't wait for news of scans etc!
Thomas is doing well, his second tooth is coming through now - so we have 2 teeny teeth showing at the bottom! He is finding the whole thing a bit strange I think, as he keeps "picking" at them with his fingers! He isn't crawling as such yet, but is doing something really weird! He will lie on his back and kind of do this weird dance-like thing, where he rubs his head from side to side on the floor (or changing mat etc!) he can move himself a bit whilst doing this, but not sure this is the point of it (iyswim!?) He can get where he wants to go by rolling over and flinging himself and propelling himself!
Diege, not sure I understand not closed dimple? (sorry, bit of a dumbass moment!) Thomas has a haeomangioma (sp?!) on his back - like a strawberry birthmark, but not strawberry coloured! it is bluey in colour, and apparently is nothing to worry about, and will shrink and disappear on it's own in a year or two. Anyway, he is still perfect to me!!

ooh - have managed to get another outfit for the wedding! Have bought lovely pair of linen trousers (dirty cream colour with milk chocolate cotnrast stitching around waist and and pocket) and brown/beige mix strappy top (in chiffon-esque type material) - all from PerUna - so will also go with brown wedge heeled sandals already ordered! Yey!!! Have also splurged on accessories! And have seen a lovely brown bead handbag in Boots, that would just be puurrfect!!!

Anywho, must go - love to everyone I've not mentioned (which, I'm afraid, is most of you - so sorry, you are all still loved....)

Brownie

browniechick · 10/07/2006 22:07

ooh - sorry, that was longer than I'd realised - "just nipping on" - yeah right - my arse!!!! Sorry

GarfieldsGirl · 10/07/2006 22:24

Has anyone been on 'Google Earth'. I've been on it for hours, can see the skylight in my kitchen!! Amazing stuff.
