Morning everyone, and another lovely one it is too!

Rodeo - sounds like your grandma is a very strong lady. 60 years of marriage - wow! - Its so nice to hear that 2 people can still love each other dearly after so many years together.
Brownie/BEKs - hope the Thomas' are both on the mend
nova - you're not back already are you? Or are you really missing us so much you just can't stay away?!
BEKs - I love Brighton, lots of adventures for you to come in your life then!
twinkle/l&smum/Brownie - I'm with your DH's on the Top Gear front, its one of my faves.
Brownie - is it 21&22 of PB tonight? I thought it was 20&21 this wk, and 22 next week. Its so interwined now isn't it.
Karma - glad to hear I'm not the only one being woken several times a night.
ChaCha - IME while bf'ing boobs are fantastic, then once you stop/lessen feeds it all shrinks and goes south.

Almost ended up at injuries unit with Sean yesterday. He fell in bathroom. I didn't realise he was hurt, just shocked then saw blood all over my shirt. He'd managed to cut himself on the corner o the bath, I can't believe there's sharp bits on there, its ridiculous. But the bleeding didn't stop for about 45 mins. Its right on the end of his finger, and he's so lucky he didn't take the end of hi finger off or his nail. Then it started bleeding again an hour later, and I'm dosing him up on Calpol cos its still hurting him, but its too small to stitch or anything. My poor little man.
I'm going to take him to TumbleTots today. We tried the Littl Steps Gym before half term, but I wasn't keen so TT today, hopefully he'll enjoy it as much as Owen did.

Enjoy the relative peace and quiet everyone with bigger ones going back to school today, I know I will! And enjoy the sunshine everyone else!

Rodeo · 05/06/2006 10:07

Morning :)

It's very quiet here, B&J got off to school and playgroup fine (few tears from Joe but to be expected)
Thanks for all well wishes for granma, was thinking last night what they've both been through. They came over from Ireland in the 50's, grandad left his family farm to become a miner, they had 7 children (their last daughter Mary died at birth and my granma wasn't allowed to see her :() have 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, 19 out of 24 are girls!
Went to see her last night and she looks so tiny and old, she kept asking for 'Dad' - grandad. Don't think she'll be around much longer so glad I went last night, gave her a few kisses and told her I loved her, she seems quite comfortable..... right don't want to bring you down now on such a lovely day so will change the subject - thanks for listening/reading, it does help to get talk doesn't it? :)
Chacha, they should fill out again, though it takes a while, around a year? The fat makes way for the milk ducts, then when you stop feeding they shrink down, unfortunately. Although the fat does build back up again gradually. Good reason for not banishing Ripples altogether?!
More get well kisses for Brownie's Thomas and now Sean too and his little finger! x x x
Right got to bath a certain baby, who's currently trying to rip the Yellow pages to pieces!

ChaCha · 05/06/2006 10:53

Thanks for the info. Oh well, am sure it complements my stretch marks and scar just fine then!
Been up since 6 with LO, had to, DH has fallen asleep with him for last two nights in comp room giving me a full night's sleep on my own. For those of you who co-sleep you know what bliss that is! Took him downstairs letting DH have our bed to himself and he's been up ever since. Hoping he'll fall asleep now behind me on bed but he's too busy being nosy and making eyebrows at the screen!

GG - Ooooh! Little accidents seem to happen all the time with LO's. Hope he has fun today at TT and is doing ok.

Rodeo - Are you visiting Gran today? You could tell her that your post natal group are all sending her hugs :) Bless her! What an achievement though eh? So many grandchildren, wow. She must be one happy and proud lady.

Looks to be another warm day. Will refill PP with the hope that there will be no surprise rain. I think I am more excited about PP than LO (read that aloud and it sounds like I'm potty training) especially with the lovely plastic little fishes that I've got ready to swim, he hee!

BoB - How is our entrepreneur today? Where are you hiding? x

Oh, and I've not lost much weight but am feeling less tired, more energetic and a lot healthier. I didn't even touch the yummy ice-cream that DH bought yesterday (or the sweets or the cakes that friends brought round). 2 weeks today - longest I've ever lasted [smug skinny emoticon]

Rodeo · 05/06/2006 11:05

Oooh know that feeling Chacha - since I've stopped BFing Jess in the night she's been waking around 6ish and not going back to sleep - but then wanting to nap around 8! The madam!
Read a book the other day that described motherhood as one 'ever-repeating loop between the A&E department and the washing machine'!! Bella and Jess have never been but Joe's been a few times - Jaundice as a baby, once after he folded his little hand over the hot oven door whilst I was taking dinner out when he was 18 months (how awful did I feel that day/week/month :() falling from climbing frame and bashing his head.....maybe it's a boy thing?
Good to here your feeling more energetic - maybe it's cutting the sugars down? You know the GI method - stopping all those sugar highs and lows? Must try it myself :)

ChaCha · 05/06/2006 12:29

Hi Rodeo, That line you read just sums it up!! I had a 'hospital bag' by the door for first few months just in case we needed to make a trip to A&E Blush I think after rushing him there last time at 1-2am worried about his breathing only to have doctor lift him up to have LO burp loudly in his face was the last straw.
Hopefully no more scares for a while. OMG - LO is weightlifting with my cushion, now his face is covered and chuckling while kicking legs....I will never understand this. ..

Enthusia · 05/06/2006 12:49

Sorry to crash on with a question, esp as I haven't managed to catch up at all but......

I am on the combined pill, have been or 3 months now but I am having pg symptoms. Has anyone else started leaking milk, even if you gave up bf some months ago? I have also had cramping, a pinkish discharge, hormonal moments and sickness as on 3 days ago. Thing is i reckon I could only be 2 weeks pg if at all. Do I sound completely paranoid? Thought I might get an honest response from you lot!?!

Hope you are all well! Will put doing a little bit of catching up on here on my very large to do list!!!!!!

Sorry to crash again!

babyonboard · 05/06/2006 13:34

Hi Enthusia! Lovely to hear from you..and exciting news too!

It does sound like it...have you taken a first response test?

babyonboard · 05/06/2006 13:34

twinkle1 · 05/06/2006 14:48

Hi enthusia!!:)
Missed you:)
Thought i was the only one ttc:)?????
You could be pregnant or your hormones may be messing you about. If pg tests are neg over next two weeks and you are still having weird symptoms you should get your dr to do a blood test for Bhcg as this is more acurate.
Hope this helps
twinkle
ps when are you in the north next????

babyonboard · 05/06/2006 14:49

Good luck hun! I tok some sainsburys own tests and got just very very faint lines..for some reason I trust the 'big brands' more..i'm sure theres no real difference though..

Enthusia · 05/06/2006 16:20

Hi Twinkle

Missed you too!!!!! Things are mad round here, but then I bet everyone can say that, you must just be all better at prioritising than me!! The only time I come on here is to check emails now. Well apart from today, have given up on the house more important things!!!!!

We are not actually ttc, I am on the pill! It is all just so weird. Feel really pg. Not that we don't want no 2 just we were going to wait a while. Well done you for deciding you want to go again, wow!

Have just bought first response, will prob wait til tmrw morning as I must still be really early but I am tempted to rip the packet open.

BoB, your own business wow, doing what?

Sam isn't crawling yet but can roll EVERYWHERE even through open doors! No bed and wee for me either!

ChaCha · 05/06/2006 17:47

Enthusia - It's so nice to see you post, how could you be gratecrashing your own group? I actually thought you were TTC and was excited at the prospect of our first Nov ladies PG of this year!! :o Can't add anything that's not already been mentioned but I'd like to say Good Luck to you and hope whatever the result it's what you were waiting for. Would love to catch up with you btw but don't have your number or password to the old dodgy email address?

BoB - Glad to see you. You are so right about the old days being gone. LO has demanded playtime all day and finally went to sleep at 3.30pm by which time my friend and her kids arrived so was busy with them. Am glad my dad is here end of week.
I have some great info on setting up, also have a meeting with the business link people next week. Would you like me to email you some useful links? Helps you set up, see if your legible for grant, tells you all about your employment status, NI, tax etc..

That's it for me. Feel very good about seeing friend that I was going to put off.

Now we've started on piggy face and piggy noises, he's doing it now and squealing...

BEKsmum · 05/06/2006 19:44

Evening all

Enthusia good to see you and wow how exciting, hope that the result you get is the one you want if you see what I mean. By my calcs that would make it a Jan/Feb baby and a 14/15mth gap, you'll have your hands full Grin

Bob good luck with the small buiness initative tomorrow, hope they are helpful. Look forward to hearing all about it on Thursday, think you should bring us some samples to look at so we can rave about them on here afterwards!

GG hope Sean's finger is a bit better today, made me wince and shiver just reading it. Rodeo was right about that quote wasn't she but I find it's between the chemists and the washing machine, I've been so often lately they chat to me now like they know me and say hello in the street Blush Grin

Rodeo hope your gran is comfortable today, she obviously has a very devoted family she must be very proud.

LOL Chacha I thought you meant something else Wink and was going to say you have no hope now, as men couldn't find that with the help of a map and a satellite navigation system, and if you can't tell where it's gone life could be very dull Grin
Well done on being virtuous by the way, two weeks is a very good achievement I couldn't last two minutes without chocolate at the moment.

Sorry girls I'm a traitor too - I like Top Gear and the car they are using as there standard car is mine but I bought it when it was called a Daewoo Nubira. I would love to thrash it round their track, and would love to go rally driving at some point too.

right best go and sort out the phantom raspberry blower who was happily sitting in his cot, but is now getting whingey 'cos no one is talking to him.

Speak to you all later Beks

GarfieldsGirl · 05/06/2006 20:10

Well TT was good, Sean liked all the things to climb on - hooray! and outlet for all his energy!

Rodeo - that quote is spot on.
BoB - good luck tomorrow, all sounds very exciting.
Enthusia - Hi! I hope the test result is what you want. I'm sure whatever it is, it'll be the right one Smile
BEKs - I'd love to go stunt driving. I rolled a car a couple of years ago and the adrenalin rush was amazing, to do it under controlled circumstances must be so much fun. Unfortunately all the driving courses etc are for people 5'2" or over, and I'm 5'1" boo hoo! DP had a Ferrari day booked in last year that I got him for Christmas at Silverstone, but he had his accident 8days before so couldn't do it, and will probably never be able to do it cos of the type of injury. His brother had done the same thing a few weeks before for his 40th b'day and smashed the Ferrari up. How many people can say they've written off a Ferrari!

Well I've waffled on about cars for long enough now. Take care girls, have a good night.

GG xx

Enthusia · 06/06/2006 07:00

Did another pg test this morning still negative, but still feeling sick!!! Oh well will just wait and see now!

Oops little one is awake will come back on later.. I hope!!!!!!

tessasmum · 06/06/2006 08:33

Morning all!
I am still around I just seem to find it really hard to post ATM as the only time I get onto the computer is when Ash is feeding and he gets distracted if I start pressing too many buttons! He has just gone back to sleep tho and Tessa isn't awake yet so I may have a window of oportunity Smile
I will try and catch up but please forgive me if I miss stuff out

Enthusia - exciting times! I knew with Ash well before I was due on (really sore boobs!) which makes up for the 1st time round when I didn't know until 15 weeks and then practically had to be told Blush Hope you get the results you want.

Our round-up: Ash is 7 months old tomorrow and a very happy, smiley baby who attracts little old ladies whereever we go. He loves his food and hasn't refused anything we have given him so far. He is still bf tho we are starting to introduce a formula feed in the evening in an attempt to get him to take something from someone other than me - EBM didn't work! There is also a slight hope that it may get him to sleep through the night!
He can get everywhere by rolling and shuffling, either on his back using his heels or his front in a sort of commando-style but isn't so keen on sitting (still playing 'baby left, baby right, baby flat on forehead!!') as that limits where he can explore.

As for me - I'm back to slightly less than pre-pregnancy weight but can claim absolutely no credit as bf has done it all.

Mostly I love being Mummy to 2 though there are times when I would love to do something on my own, go to the toilet for example Shock However hearing them make each other laugh makes my world light up Grin

Can I join the November petrolheads too please? Not so sure about the fast driving stuff , tho would have loved to have Jackie Stewart teach me how to do it properly, but Top Gear is a must and FI if I can get away with it.

GG - I didn't manage to get on and respond when things were so difficult for you a few while back. I hope its a bit better now, you certainly sound brighter from your posts. If it does get to you again and you need someone to talk to please get in touch (my number should be on the Yahoo group somewhere). I've been down the Al-Anon route quite recently (tho not re DH) and although we weren't involved for long they were brilliant in allowing us to sort our heads out.

BoB - business stuff sounds interesting and I love the things you have shown so far. Keep us informed and let us know the web address the minute you have it sorted.

BEKS - can I crash the 20th too if I promise to bring Tessa? Not that she would let me go to London on the train again without her!

Rodeo - sending you strength for yourself and your Granma

For all those who have babies showing an interest in the computer/keyboard try www.kneebouncers.com A recommendation from the Steve Wright website of the day a few months ago that is just becoming relevant.

Still got a house full of sleeping children so off to get dressed without help Smile

BEKsmum · 06/06/2006 09:02

Morning just a quickie from me

GG lol at your petrol heads post, how did you manage to roll the car? You being too short made me smile as I'm too fat Grin If I lend you some height will you lend me your slim figure!

Tessa glad to see you back, you've been missed, thought you'd deserted us! Glad Ash is doing so well and of course you can come on the 20th, Ben would love to meet Tessa but of course I'd understand if you didn't bring her. Travelling on the train with two can be a bit of a nightmare can't it.

Right got to go Ben is destroying my bed and Thomas is yelling his head off, speak to you all later Beks

twinkle1 · 06/06/2006 14:57

twinkle

Rodeo · 06/06/2006 16:27

Afternoon :)

Oooh Enthusia! Exciting!! Keep us posted :)
Hi Tessasmum! Well done with the weightloss and the bfeeding :) I'm down to 1 small feed before bed now, but she's more interested in pulling and chewing than milk, so v.close to last feed! Thought of you last week as we were at Luton Airport, which is lovely compared to East Midlands! Ah will have a great time watching all those planes landing and taking off - it's in a really great position for spectators!
Twinkle, glad you're enjoying the weather, enjoy it while it lasts - downside of living in the highlands!!
All these car lovers!! GG rolling a car indeed Shock my dad rolled one too about 30 years ago although he was drink-driving at the time Blush - he's not like that anymore!! He also saw a motorcyclist decapitated once too but that's another story...... why are my stories always so grim?!! I have to endure TG on a Sunday Night, but I really can't stand the dwarf. Dp loves cars, whereas I prefer horses!
Wonder where Bob is?? Wonder if shes buried under a pile of babygrow she's bought wholesale furiously designing unique one-off items for us - well, you never know!!Grin
Jess has awoken so better get off, hope Nova & Diege are having a lovely time!

Rodeo · 06/06/2006 16:29

Sorry, Ash will have a great time....

tessasmum · 06/06/2006 16:36

Rodeo - unsurprisingly 'plane' was one of Tessa's first signs, she's even in a signing book doing it!

tessasmum · 06/06/2006 17:01

Rodeo - if you, or anyone else ever flies out of Luton and fancies a cup of tea/cake/somewhere to leave the car/etc let me know. We are 5 mins from the airport.

ChaCha · 06/06/2006 17:17

Hi Ladies,

How have you all been today?

It has been one HOT afternoon! We picniced in the park with friend and children, took a couple of lattes and baguettes and lazed around - was bliss.
LO is now waking up at 6.30am!!!! ShockWe get bashed in the chest/back/face and legs are kicking for playtime. I am not used to such early starts (well, not since working days) and am finding myself looking forward to 9pm (bedtime) so that I too can get some rest. It is a very long day when you are up that early and I was surprisingly smug at having done chores and dinner by 10am - no wonder, when you're up that early your day ends at lunchtime!

Spent an hour on phone this morning as DH typed wrong car registration into the congestion charge pay website!! As both vehicles are new he got mixed up. Genuine mistake wouldn't you say? Not our fault that their system doesn't pick up on these things - we now have to write and prove it etc.. [yawn] and may well ended up paying the £50 [squirm]
Also had 2 DDs returned when they'd been cancelled so have had bank charges come out and all that takes time on phone, money for the calls (seem to be national rate) and a headache.
Tell me this is normal.

Have been headbutted on the mouth, had my lower lip grabbed and pinched and been kicked in the legs. My son enjoys beating me up. Nobody warned me of this milestone, he rolled over today, grabbed a fistful of grass and tried eating it!! Lovely.

Enthusia - Aren't you going to give us an update on you and Sam as well, it's been a long time. I'm sure others would like to know how he's getting on too. Last post.

oops..Hi Twinkle - Enjoy your hols.
