missree I would have thought its fine as long as they don't have an outbreak of norovirus or similar as some of the hospitals near us do at the moment. And just make sure to use the handgel etc. If anyone had anything that was airborne infectious they would be isolated.

NorthernChinchilla · 18/04/2012 21:21

Jeez, if I don't post every three seconds MN logs me out, which is a total pita when I'm previewing messages...

Anyhow:
Oh, he definitely did Rashka... I also think he's going to be the first baby to break his own neck, ever, as he insists on getting into a weird position on his side where his head's at a 90 deg. angle to his body, like he's trying to look behind himself...

You're doing the right thing and are taking the right steps DSM, but it must be exhausting. I really hope it'll be onwards and upwards for you/Darcie now, but don't be disheartened if there are a few setback along the way.

I'm booking DP onto a postnatal course, 6 weeks, which includes weaning and that's SureStart too. Frankly, as long as he doesn't poison DS, rot his teeth, cause his kidneys to collapse or burn him with chillies he can do it how he likes... Grin.

Housework is most definitely exercise LMF, it's just exercise with a point!

DS is now booked in to see the doctors: he has inherited his mother's double bottom cleft thingy, and it appears, sadly, the problems that come with it. Nothing serious, but I had to have an entirely unsuccessful, don't ask operation on it, and I really hope he won't have to.
Had coffee with MissRee and the gorgeous Freya (not saying MissRee isn't, but Freya's such a cutie and has got good vom aim!) and did indeed get soaked in this hideous weather.

I'd take her tbh, but I bet the hospital has rules about age limits, etc., re visiting, so I'd phone and check first.

MissRee · 18/04/2012 21:24

She doesn't have that good aim at home but I think she's learning that vom print isn't a good look for Mummy Grin

aethelfleda · 18/04/2012 21:47

misree, hiya, just ring the ward and ask what their policy is on non-related but small people. Generally wards have restrictions on under-tens to visit as the younger ones tend to be little virus factories. It's what they bring in that's the issue rather than infections going out. But worth ringing to ask the nurses as if it's a brief visit they may be OK with it.

MissRee · 18/04/2012 21:49

Thanks ladies, I'll give them a call in the morning Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 18/04/2012 23:20

Little sod had a proper feed-fest between seven and eight and still lasted less than three hours! I may have to wean him in concrete!Wink

scoobyd00 · 19/04/2012 02:52

Not much sleeping going on here. Made it back to norfolk in one piece. Boys taking it in turns to get me out of bed.

Hope my fellow night shifters are fast asleep.

AnAirOfHope · 19/04/2012 02:56

Still not asleep. Hope had a little feed and back to sleep.

AnAirOfHope · 19/04/2012 02:58

neverenoughsleeportea · 19/04/2012 04:32

On second wake up of the night. Zzzzzzzzzz

GeeandTee · 19/04/2012 05:11

DD only just woken for a feed! Woohoo! Best night yet! Unfortunately I've been awake with mahoosive boobs since 4am but not complaining. Likely to be a one-off though.

lmf if it gives you any hope, I think DD is a month older than octopus boy and a month ago she was feeding every 2-3hrs through the night still.

aethelfleda · 19/04/2012 05:11
GeeandTee · 19/04/2012 06:12

Hmmmm, well DD had more wind than usual as my boobs were so full. Eventually got it out, put down in cot then 30 seconds later she's wide awake and staring around the room. Grrrrr. Think that's all the sleep I'm getting tonight :(

mopsytop · 19/04/2012 07:13

Morning all! Sympathies, nightshifters. It's tedious :(

Minimopsy cried all afternoon bit luckily then calmed down and went to bed. So I didn't have to break out the calpol. I hope she's ok today at nursery without me :( still don't want to leave her. Wonder does it ever get to the stage where you don't mind?

Lashing here again today. Not looking fwd to walk to nursery/library!

OiMissus · 19/04/2012 07:18

Grrrrrumble bleurgh ugh grrrrrr
sleeps Smile
Wakes up again, baby crying again.
Bugger, the sale was just a dream.
No sleep.
We've got the second nursery session today, then baby massage. I'd better get up. (shouldn't have had wine last night.) Sad

MissRee · 19/04/2012 07:20

Morning ladies

I had another thought on the weaning bits and pieces last night. If your local adds has a cafe, they have weaning spoons as part of their cutlery. Some accidentally fell into my bag a few weeks ago whilst having a coffee Grin

MissRee · 19/04/2012 07:21

That should be asda!!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 19/04/2012 07:36

Celebrating as we got our First Choice school for Juniors in sept Grin

BJR · 19/04/2012 08:29

Morning all! Trying to be cheerful but mostly want to grump in my dressing gown today. Have cleared DPs immediate debts with my maternity leave savings. So I now have to go and speak to work about going back earlier than planned and also beg MIL to look after LO for the summer holidays (she only works terms time) so I don't have to pay nursery fees untill September. DP has done sod all except complain that I moan too much.

Am going to stay with my parents for a few days next week so I can have a break. DS has a ultrasound on Monday, he has a large hydrocele and as a result the doctor can only find one of his testes. So they are doing a scan to see if they can leave it or if they need to operate. So will wait untill we get that done and then run away to my parents either Tuesday or Wednesday!

Hope everyone has a good day.

NorthernChinchilla · 19/04/2012 08:52

Oh BJR, I've got to run for an appointment, but couldn't read and run. You grump away, that's grim. Poor you and DS.

I would duck now, as I believe a load of haddocks may be flying in....

MissRee · 19/04/2012 09:03

Oh BJR how rotten for you and DS Sad Huge haddocks for your DP! I don't blame you for wanting to spend some time away.
