We're going to a cottage in Somerset. DH's Dad is coming down to stay there too, and his brother and niece live in Yeovil so we'll see them at some point. Plan to go for various days out, including to the beach, so I'm really hoping the weather's perked up by then or I'll be regretting opting for a staycation!

msbuggywinkle · 08/05/2012 19:52

Hello!

DDs had a weird dinner, chocolate stars, carrots and peas. They are now scootering down the road.

oi Miri doesn't sleep in cars. She sits and chats, which is refreshing as the big ones screeeeeeamed every journey for ages.

kitty happy birthday!

Love seven's thread title.

NorthernChinchilla · 08/05/2012 20:05

I was going to suggest (there's similar on the relationships board) 'when life throws you haddock, make fish pie', but we're all far too marvellous to ever need haddocking Grin

Trying not to be Envy of the lovely things you get up to with your LOs- I'm fine about being back at work, and get treated to the best smile on my return, but walking about with a baby in the sunshine and eating cake is far superior to Board meetings...

I don't bother with breastpads Oi, but always put one in the 'other' side when I'm expressing. I dribbled breast milk over my skirt today, however, so am joining the club!

Uber-snurk at the hicky chin Bee; I've had DP do that to me semi-accidentally, and even once managed to give myself a chin hicky through over-sucking my bottom lip Blush.

Seems to have been a poo-mageddon/nami day, DP was describing the one here in loving detail, down to how it was all wedged between the cheeks!!

Sounds perfect then figgy if he's following the centile then that's grand. DS is getting weighed tomorrow, can't wait! My Gran is typically old-skool excited about him being 'big'.

Pie no.2 in the oven, and hope you start the new thread soon so I can find you.

Rashkakeller · 08/05/2012 20:38

Oi, sorry bypassed your post as sped read! Poor BOi! Fancy only have 8oz all day, the stubborn little mite! I know you're probably worried but he will relent when he's truly hungry, I'm sure. Bless him

Msbuggy, interesting tea! The other day, dd had macaroni cheese with jam on toast with tomato sauce...and yes, she did dip her toast in the sauce!

Northern...pie....handy in the garden and can make pies, wish you were my wife! ;)

mopsytop · 08/05/2012 20:45

Nearly new thread time already! Blimey! Minim still under the weather, nor finishing her bottles ( but only leaving an ounce so it's fine), think it's just too much effort for her to bother cos a) she is mega snuffly and b) I think has a wee tummy upset cos writing around during feeds and crying like she's bottom wind and she did a v runny poo earlier. Poor little mite :( I propped her cot up on two dictionaries so its a bit slanted and put a little baby Vick on her chest and a tissue w a cpl of drops of olbas oil at the other end if the cot so I'm hoping they help. She didn't nap too much today and after her disturbed night she must be wrecked so I'm hoping they help a bit. And for my sake! As waking every half hour or less does not for a full-of-beans mopsy make! On which note I am off to sleep now! Here is to us all having acceptable levels of sleep tonight!!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 08/05/2012 20:54

Oi I agree with Rash BOi will drink when he is really hungry - he won't starve himself.

All your holidays sound lovely. Our holiday will be our honeymoon in Sept and I will miss my girls so much Sad but am intending on having a fab time. Grin

Sky has gone down for the night. Hoping she has a better night tonight and so do all the other bambinos! Smile

LittleMissFlustered · 08/05/2012 20:57

Octopus has manflu a cold so is full of woe and seriously mucousy nappies, when he actually goes. So far today we've only had the poonami so I'm not hopeful of a good night:(

Hoping to get loads done tomorrow. Need to pop to the toy shop first thing then getting on with gutting the living room will be the order of the day. Jabs for the boy after school which will cheer the other two up as they always score for a manky horrible disgusting macdonald's when we're at the surgery that late.

msB I've had a whole nut and an apple for dinner so I'm not going to bat an eyelid at dinner chez buggy:o

Our ?weekend? away (Sunday 'til today) was not a raving success. LO woke repeatedly Sunday night, then spent most of the day refusing to sleep and screaming as a result. GPs eventually took her out in the pram but not for long enough and I didn't manage to nap although DH did. Finally she crashed out after bath and feed but woke around 10pm, then 3:30, wouldn't go back down 'till 5 then awake 5:30. I gave up and she came to bed with me so I hardly slept although she did. We've not had that much trouble for months.
Not just sleep regression but full-scale refusal.
I'm praying that now we're back home things will settle again.

On top of that I discovered that my mother still smokes - she's been lying to me about it. I am upset that she thinks it's OK to risk my daughter's health, esp. knowing that it's damaged mine, and even more upset that she's been dishonest. I don't know what to do now, but at least I managed to bottle it and not ruin our visit further.

seven You remind me that I should be doing elderflower cordial, I always leave it too late!

It appears we don't get weaning talks either; nothing has been mentioned.

awch my parents are in their late 70s and my DH over 40; you're worrying me ? are we all past it? OTOH my dad's family are long-lived and my Grandpa was 70 years older than me ? it seems ?normal? for us.

Oi We also decided that we would not have any tests that would endanger the baby, as we would not have aborted the pregnancy. DH and I know people with Downs, Aspergers, Cerebral Palsy etc and we know it's not the end of the world.

YBR · 08/05/2012 21:36

its, not it's. Sorry.

plutocrap · 08/05/2012 21:52

I'm working my way through all I've missed, but just have to say that I love "mum up", especially in contrast to "man up" ... although DH was not as enamoured of the joke, which was not quite "funny", more, "oh, funeee"! Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 08/05/2012 21:52

Sorry your trip wasn't what you'd hoped it would be. Here's to getting back to normal:)

With regards to testing and stuff, I didn't have anything other than the ultrasounds with all three pregnancies. Not even the triple nd nuchal ones. Like most of you I wouldn't have aborted for the conditions that the tests flag. I was put under a lot of pressure to abort my older boy, and it was torture:( part of the reason I kept my pregnancy a secret this time around, I couldn't face the pressure again:/

I love lists!

YBR there was only one tree in bloom nearest the park entrance, the other sheltered ones were at least a week away from blooming.

msbuggy loving your girls tea!

mopsy poor thing, hope she's better soon.

I've got loads of old unwanted crap stuff ending on eBay tonight, currently standing to make around £130, we're using it to buy a chicken run and nesting boxes. I'm putting more on to end next week which we're hoping to put towards all the other stuff we need and five Sussex chicks!

MissRee · 08/05/2012 21:54

Hey Plu! Where have you been hiding Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 08/05/2012 21:54

Ooh, I forgot mumming up! We have to work that into the new thread title...

Mum up or prepare to be ed?

OP posts:
seven77 · 08/05/2012 21:59

lmf sorry to hear that, is that why you aren't with his dad now? Feel free not to answer that if I'm being a nosey sod. Must be awful when he goes to see his dad. My sisters dad wanted my mum to abort her, then walked out on them when she was 4 and my brother was 2. I think it breaks my mums heart that she has a good relationship with her dad after he went 15 years without seeing them and she doesn't know he never wanted her in the first place.

LittleMissFlustered · 08/05/2012 22:14

It's insanely complicated, one day when I'm not on my phone I'll explain as well as I can:)

Off to bed now. Looking forward to the new thread:)

If any of you ladies are garden orientated and are on my Facebook, please take a look at my mystery plant and help me identify it I bet it's a sodding weed :)

OP posts:
aethelfleda · 08/05/2012 22:22

lmf, if you like it, it's not a weed! I have tons of unidentified things wot make flowers in our garden: if we like the look then they stay. (sadly so do a lot of weeds as never enough time/energy to really sort it
Out)

Ladies and babies...

7 hours in a row has he slept!

OP posts:
hawthers · 09/05/2012 06:08

[Envy]

F has been up every 2 hours. I'm exhausted. Pretty sure its because he slept too much during the day. Hope its not reverse cylcing.

Way too tired today

hawthers · 09/05/2012 06:09

Grrr I meant Envy but :o for lmf sleep, you deserve it

LittleMissFlustered · 09/05/2012 06:18

I suspect it'll not happen again anytime soon!

Plan for the day:

Birthday present procurement
Coffee abuse
Living room guttage

I may have a meal too, as I've realised I didn't actually have any proper food yesterday >_
