Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
blizy · 10/04/2012 07:41

. Yawn yawn, who knew having a kitten is the same as a new born! Poor Alfie was crying quite a bit during the night. He is now snuggled up on me, purring away like a machine. Grin

Thanks for the thread ledkr- you just bet me to it ! Are the pils still with you?

NeedToSleepZZZ · 10/04/2012 07:48

Morning all!
Thanks for the new thread ledkr (want to borrow a spade?).

Blizy, I love kittens, yours is so gorgeous too. I hope you don't have expensive curtains though Grin. I remember using black pepper to toilet train my old cat as they don't like the smell of it. Handy tip of the day!

B has been up since 5am again and is shouting and doing a strange dance to get my attention. I have lots of housework to do today in preparation for reastie coming to visit tomorrow Smile

blizy · 10/04/2012 07:57

Needto- my baby has had me up since 5 too!Grin. He is good with the litter tray, so far no accidents (fingers crossed).

Grin at Ben dancing for attention.

I am vety jealous of the meet ups this week!

reastie · 10/04/2012 08:50

Morning, Just marking my place. Thanks for the thread ledkr

blizy hope Alfie settles in quickly. Glad there's been no accidents yet - I had no idea how bad cat poo smelt until DHs cats moved in Shock . I love the black pepper tip needto - maybe I should rub it all over our dining table to stop the pesky cat from jumping on it Grin

Off to work in a min.... Sad

ILovePonyo · 10/04/2012 11:04

Marking place! Fab title as always - thanks eggkr :)

A was awake and crying nearly every hour last night - what the...?! However she is at nursery today so I dropped her off then went back to bed til 10, ah. Am cleaning and mn-ing today then.

blizy oh yes kittens have a very pitiful little cry don't they, aww.

Hi needto!

Back later on

americanexpat · 10/04/2012 15:23

I slept until 10:20 this morning. Shock

Hello, Needto! Glad things are going well for you.

ledkr - I can't believe your PILs, they are truly shocking especially towards Ella.

I can't remember anything from the last thread.

ledkr · 10/04/2012 16:01

The mil text me to ask how i was feeling.I said i felt ok but was very tired from the weekend and said it was hard work having guests Grin

I am seriously stunned. I have said to you guys the last few visits were quite nice havent I?

I think they are very odd if they dont see its time to go.

Re Ella she was bouncing about in her seat and fil said "is there something wrong with you?" really sarcastically. Mil told her off for having her feet on the seat and then looked at fil as if to say "see i told her"
They seemed to really dislike her and want to get one over on her,
Needless to say i will be monitoring the situation and if it happens again I will hev plenty to say.

Took Dills to Dr she has a slight ear infection so has anti b's for the first time. She is also coughing but chest is clear.

Nice to see you back needto how are you?

NeedToSleepZZZ · 10/04/2012 16:13

ledkr, I have no idea how you've held your tongue, you are one strong woman but agree, if they start on Ella... it's a different matter. I read about her dancing btw, she sounds like one sorted out mini ledkr! Sorry to hear about D, hope the abs get to work really soon.
I'm fine, OH hasn't touched alcohol since The Incident and has finished his counselling now which helped a lot. He still has the number in case he needs more support though. I'm still on the prozac but feeling a lot more optimistic now that spring is here (cue downfall of rain and a gloomy summer), still not very confident as a mum but muddling through like everyone I guess.

Just took B to the docs as he has a lump on his penis, she said it's prob a sebaceous cyst but has referred us to paed urologist (sp?) to be sure. Feel bad as apparently it must have been there quite a while but I hadn't noticed until last night in the bath Blush

Ponyo, do you think it could be molars coming through causing the disturbed sleep? That's what I'm praying is causing B's early mornings. Glad you got to get some sleep though! And American, sleeping till 10:20, you are living the dream! Grin

ledkr · 10/04/2012 16:33

need to im still on my prozac too,i wont be giving it up in a hurry,i feel like a different person. Feel annoyed thai didnt do it sooner as i now remember how bad i was like planning to disappear or drive my car into a wall,it aint right is it?
Glad dh is sorted. Alcohol is hard to stop,is her taking any preventative.

reastie · 10/04/2012 16:47

ledkr completely forgot to comment re: your PILs with the new thread Blush . Tbh they sound like VERY hard work no change there then . My PIL actually need to be told to go sometimes, or DH has to tell them before they arrive how long they can stay Hmm , not sure if that would work for you but I think your DH should kick them out be in charge of this and be a bit more strict on this front. When you get your campervan can you just shove them in there with the value bfast cereal several miles away ? FWIW speaking to Ella like that made me massively Shock . IMO not on .

Cripes, Alice is wandering around the dining room floor picking up bits of hot cross bun she dropped earlier that I haven't yet managed to clear up Blush and eating it then giggles running across the room when I give her the evil teacher eye Grin

needto glad Bens willy bump is nothing to worry about. If it makes you feel better I took Alice to the GP ages ago about a cough and when the GP examined her chest etc she was a bit Shock about Alices dry skin and eczema and gave me loads of lotions and potions to help when DH and I had just ignored it Blush

I have made the mistake of giving Alice a bit of chocolate easter egg - she now keeps signing more and pointing to where the eggs are stashed all the time until she gets more chocolate takes after her mum

american 10:20????? Shock Shock Shock . Anything after 7 is considered luxurious here. Infact, I haven't had a lie in since Alice was born Hmm

wigglesrock · 10/04/2012 17:09

ledkr- thanks for the thread, will catch up later and post stats, A is trying to pull laptop off my knee and begin her quest for the most inappropriate website she can find Grin

Need to borrow some paving slabs for the new patio? Grin

NeedtoSleepzzz no problem, it was no bother at all, really pleased to see you again Grin.

Tarlia · 10/04/2012 17:17

Waves!

needto ledkr I'm still on the pills too and have started CBT. Who was it that also had this, grateful if you could send me a private message.

Z isn't walking unaided either! He has taken the odd step and can with one hand and stand from the floor, but not close to proper walking.

blizy I can't see your photos of Alfie!! He sounds adorable.

ponyo urg, here's to a better night tonight!!

All these meets sound fab, I'd love to do a Bluewater one when next over. There are a few close arnt there?

ledkr I can't believe they bought such different eggs for the girls, that's horrible :( poor E, she is just a kid. I hope they are better next time, well done for biting your Tongue, must have been tough.

reastie how are you feeling these days?

ledkr · 10/04/2012 17:22

Tarlia it was reastie who had the cbt.I actually did some counselling training, humanistic and pyscho dynamic i understood, cbt left me a little Hmm We had to keep a reflective diary and when i read it last i was giggling at what a little cow bag i was Grin

reastie · 10/04/2012 18:20

tarlia yes it was me that had CBT, but not for pnd for other 'issues'. I think ems had it for pnd though. Pm me if you have any qs. Btw I'm near bluewater - didn't realise you were too - where are you? In general I'm OK, up and down. Think work has made me so busy I don't have time to wallow in my own misery Wink . ledkr DM is a psychodynamic counsellor and she's very Hmm about cbt

reastie · 10/04/2012 18:24

OK, just reread your message tarlia . I knew you weren't in UK and I remember comments about not getting stuff from here before Blush , I just thought I must've had prolonged baby brain or sth and got muddled Blush . Let me rephrase - so, when you're back in UK - you're near bluewater then? Grin

blizy · 10/04/2012 18:56

Ledkr- your oils really are a piece of work aren't they? Poor Ella, it is horrible when adults make such an obvious difference between children. I hope she is not too upset by it?

Tarlia- the pics are on facebook, I need to go on the laptop to upload some on here.

Well today. Had to wipe Alfie's bum, he had a bit of a messy poop.Confused cat people, is that normal?Grin

tadjennyp · 10/04/2012 18:58

Hello, thanks for the new thread ledkr! Hello to tarlia and needto -

ledkr- I cannot bear it when people treat siblings differently. I mean a buttons egg for Dills and then a nice one for Ella would have been ok as Dills wouldn't care, but Ella will notice that. Dh needs to have words that his dds will not be treated differently.

Glad you all had a nice Easter. Love the kitten blizy! No holidays here unfortunately but dh and I managed a morning out without the dcs for the first time since S was born on Saturday! S was really good for the babysitter and she even baked a cake with A. Best $40 I ever spent!

S has removed the remote controls so I need to go and hunt for them before A & E get back from school.

ILovePonyo · 10/04/2012 19:27

tadj good for you having some 'time off' with dh, good babysitter by the sounds of things!

blizy Grin at wiping cats bum, oh yes tis a normal part of life as a mad cat lady, what a treat eh. How do you think the mindees will get on with Alfie?

tarlia A isn't walking either, she can stand on her own for a few seconds but thats it. Someone told me that if they talk more, they walk later and vice versa, not sure how true that is for our babies but A is deffo chatting away a lot. Good luck with the cbt, my friend had it and it really worked for her.

Needto well done to your OH, thats impressive. I think we are all muddling along as mums, well I know I am! I sometimes think "well at least I'd know what I was doing if I had another baby" but I bet I'd be proved wrong Grin Oh and re: A's teeth, doubt its molars as she only has just got top 2 so reckon its them giving her trouble. If she starts tonight she is having calpol straight away!

reastie oh A can sniff out chocolate a mile away, plus I'm a softy and give in Hmm Can I just say that I am Shock that you've not had one lie in since A was born. Does your dh have lie ins?

ledkr once again Hmm at your PIL, clueless aren't they. Does dh have siblings? Just windering what they're like with them and their families. Really annoyed at the smug telling off of Ella, idiots.

don't know if anyone can diagnose but A has lots of little bumps on her elbows/upper arms, her skin isn't red or anything just bumpy. Don't think its worth a trip to docs, do any other babies have this?

Had a nice chilled day and A has gone straight to sleep no crying tonight, phew, what a relief! She is in nursery again tomo and dp and I are off work so going to go to Jamies Italian for chow :)

Tarlia · 10/04/2012 19:38

blizy ah ok. Very normal, just look at it this way, if you suddenly gave a newborn just only beef casserole and no longer gave it milk you'd get the same result. How old is he? Often they are Given away too soon (before 12 weeks) when they are not yet fully weaned.

Waves to tad!

Interesting re CBT, I've been twice, so not sure what to make of it, though my life rule opened my eyes. I can see why my pregnancy/labour/ilws have triggered melt down.

Yup, reastie everytime I'm over I end up there at least once. Scandinavian baby/kids clothes are lovely, but choice is limited and prices are crazy, so we top up with UK highstreet - think £18 for a top/body and £30 for trousers for a baby.

hubbard86 · 10/04/2012 19:48

Marking my place.
Toms check was ok but they wanted to bring him in for another op as the first hasn't worked but I've asked that they wait 6 months as i don't want him going through another general quite so soon.

Freyas not walking yet but she really does chatter away and has about 10th recogniseable words so i agree with the theory that they either do walking or talking and the other catches up eventually.

Blizy can't say I've ever wiped mischiefs bum and i think I would draw the line there.

ledkr · 10/04/2012 19:54

blizy was going to see your pussy Grin ,thought it was on your profile page.

I had a few moments with Zoe instead Smile

blizy · 10/04/2012 20:10

tarlia he is only 8 weeks, but he has been weaned for 2 weeks.

Meant to say earlier needto well done to your dp!

Pics of my pussy are now up ledkr and all! Grin

ponyo he will be introduced to baby mindee tomorrow, not looking forward to it! Any tips?

wigglesrock · 10/04/2012 20:18

blizy think you're under pressure to get old Alfies picture up Grin I'm with hubbard wiping an animals bum is a step too far for me! Oh and my pil swears that cats hate oranges so they used to put some orange peel around "good" things!

ponyo Olivia has bumpy upper arms! I think it just one of those things [shrugs]

tadjennyp yay for your date Grin

Okey dokey - any lurkers/name changers out there - decloak before the stats go up.

wigglesrock · 10/04/2012 20:19

blizy Envy Envy I'd wipe a cat that cutes bum Grin He's gorgeous.

Grannyapple · 10/04/2012 20:45

Hello ladies! Had a nice relaxing w/e...was much needed...was away with work week before last & feels like I've been working full time the past 2 weeks so the bank hol w/e was much needed.

blizy Alfie is just too cute. Dh must have been v bad!!

eggkr how the hell you manage to hold your tongue with ur PILs I'll never know. Dh needs to be a LOT firmer with them too...& defo not on them differentiating & being rude to wee Els.

If there's a b'water meetup, count me in...tis only 25 mins from me. Was there yesterday actually...got sod all for me & dh but Nate did well...spent remainder of his b'day vouchers & got him his 1st shoes from clarks. He has titchy feet....only a 3G, bless him. He ain't walking on his own yet but is defo a wee chatterbox.

Was working from home today...N has been a wee nightmare, refusing naps. He had 1 hr in the morning & that was it. Along with a few paddys/tantrums over his new shoes Hmm.

Sorry, a bit 'me' this post...v boring!
