Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
RobinSparkles · 15/04/2012 13:06

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a lovely Easter :)

Yep, getting back in shape, that's me! Wink

Right, just marking my place - off to catch up!

NeedToSleepZZZ · 15/04/2012 13:45

Hi Robin, hope you're well and be careful of eyestrain when catching up Grin

I know what I meant to ask earlier now. I wondered if you all could offer some advice re Ben's naps. I know that some of the babies are now having one nap a day, do you think it's time to drop Ben's morning nap and that's why he's waking up so early? He's been waking at 4:45am some mornings and we've been leaving him to settle himself for a bit, which he does but he doesn't really go back to sleep. If it is time to drop the nap then how do I go about doing it ? Do I just stop one morning and see how it goes?

ledkr · 15/04/2012 17:59

mememe! Im an expert on the naps and early wakings.
The key is Short nap in morning 15-20 mins max and not too soon after waking (push it forward by 5 mins daily)

Longer nap in the afternoon say about 3-4.30 and hey presto sleeps till 7am Shock I read about it on mn.

Well I have my Dilly back. This am her little nose was bleeding so i think she has had sinusitis like me ella and my mum get, which always end with a nose bleed.
She has her appetite back, has stopped moaning and has been really sweet.
Went to the park again and she pushed her little pushchair miles in her pink skinny jens and fur coat, sooo cute.
We then accidently went to mcds and she ate chips as if her life depended on it.

Dh wasnt too pissed (i dont think) but he rang me at 2am to let him in cos he'd forgotten his key grrr. He then thought it reasonable to strike up a convo re the Grand national till i told him to shut up. I couldnt go back to sleep cos i kept coughing and he got up ever 15 mins for a beery wee Hmm
In the end he went and slept downstairs then got up with D before i heard her crying,in the manner of a martyr, the tit.He had a late shift at work so prob feels like shit.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 15/04/2012 18:09

brilliant ledkr, thank you! right, will start it on tuesday as he has hospital appt tomorrow afternoon during his normal nap time so need to bring that one forward iyswim Confused.do you wake dills after 20 mins? don't think b will be happy with that but he'll get used to it. fingers crossed for 7am starts, would be brilliant!

so glad dills is back to normal, poor little thing with her nose bleed though, i never knew that about sinusitis.

poor dh, does his head hurt? Grin i am wicked and suffering from pmt this week so will stop there!

ILovePonyo · 15/04/2012 18:15

Hi all just a quick one from me - ledkr D's vomming sounds horrible, glad she's better now, A loved macd's chips too. Funnily enough that was pretty much A's sleep pattern today so let's see what time she wakes up eh...

I also need some quick advice, A has a cough now, she keeps coughing and waking herself up from her naps, can you give babies anything for just a cough and runny nose? I have a feeling the answer is no Sad

A finally met one of my bestie mates today, she lives in Berlin so hadn't seen her yet, it was lovely! Surprisingly she was really good with A too Grin

Better go madam is whingy and wanting my phone

ledkr · 15/04/2012 18:49

ponyo Thats what Dills has had poor thing and i have it now.Cant do much apart from steam im afraid. I slep D sat up in buggy to help with naps.

need to Dont ecpect it to work straight away but it does eventually.I would wake Dills yes but she seems to only have a cat nap now she sleeps later anyway, whilst she has been ill id have left her to sleep but she woke anyway.

Back to work tomorrow will be weird. Also dh is on 4-12 so ill be working all day then doing the whole bedtime thing on my own.Starting the low carb boot camp tomorrow so will prob be moody and go to sleep as soon as kids do. With a herbal tea instead of my usual hot choc and biccys Hmm

ledkr · 15/04/2012 18:50

Ps I gave medised but then i am a very bad mother.

debka · 15/04/2012 19:28

ponyo vicks on the feet?

ledkr the vomming sounds like utter utter hell, you did exactly what I would have done. Glad D is better now. Mine have both had colds with vomiting, lovely Hmm

needto good luck with the naps/early wakings. It is tough isn't it. Listen to mamaledkr she's the thread guru Grin

My friend finally miscarried properly yesterday, she said it was like full on labour, 3 hours of contractions on her hands and knees in the kitchen Shock. She'd had some reflexology to help start it a few hours before. She buried the tiny wee baby in the garden :( She seems really relieved and positive about the whole thing, mostly glad it's over. I had no idea a m/c could be so painful/traumatic, I have learned a lot.

Finally found disc 5 of the Killing after searching my (admittedly small) house for 2 fecking days. DH is just picking up Chinese for tea and we'll have some time together tonight. He's been rubbish recently- on the phone or computer all the time, I've been a bit peed off with him about it, so hopefully we can reconnect a bit tonight.

debka · 15/04/2012 19:29

you're a bloody brilliant mother ledkr and all your children love you.

Emski76 · 15/04/2012 20:05

Hey all
Led, the car sick incident with D sounds awful. Ben got travel sick when he was abit older than our lot, we were in France driving along country lanes and we suddenly heard him choking. He threw up ALL over our hired car seat!
Glad D seems better. I took Ben to McDonalds today for a 'lunch date' as he'd tried really heard at swimming this morning. It was lovely to have some time alone together.

Four4 and Need to, re walking, Noah doesn't seem too interested as I think he finds he can get there quicker by crawling! He musts puts his head down ad is off!

Hope you feel better after your migrane, Need to. Noah went down to one nap a good few months back. I started taking him out for a walk in his buggy for half hour each morning and waking him after 20 minutes, found it easier than letting him gets snugly in bed. He now about 1.5 to 2 hours each afternoon between 1 and 3.

Ponyo, not sure about the cough apart from a plug in, I haven't tried Vicks on the bottom of the feet but sounds like something I will def try on future.

Good luck with boot camp Ledkr, how long are you doing it for?

Deb, that is heartbroking for your friend, I could cry for her.
Enjoy your evening with dh.

We've had a fantastic and busy weekend, it's been lovely spending time as a family today. Swimming this morning, gardening with Ben, birthday party at 3, then out bike riding in the street, some of the neighbourhood children came out to join us. It was lovely following them all around the block with Ben on his bike and Noah on his Tomliboo ride on. It was fab.

I'm watching BGT I recorded last night and trying to stay away from the boys chocolate in the fridge!

wigglesrock · 15/04/2012 20:27

ledkr the vomiting car sounds horrendous - you did really well to get everything organised. When Olivia was a baby she choked on her own spit/ breath in the back of the car, it was horrible and on a very fast road. I just had to pull over in a bit of a panic but a lovely man was in the car behind and he saw my "Oh fuck" slightly panicked face in the mirror and stopped behind me to make sure we were all ok. I've never forgotten it, of course I felt like a bit of a lemon when she was obviously fine and indeed it was a portent of things to come with O Grin

ponyo I like the Karvol drops on a muslin/bib at the bottom/underneath the cot. I'm not sure if it actually works but I think it does which is half the battle!

debka I'm so sorry about your friend. A girl I work with is going through the same - she's 10 weeks Sad

Olivia is on the mend, we made it to the party yesterday for a bit. It was lovely, the weather picked up so all the kids were thrown out the back Grin I think I went down in some peoples estimation as I fed Anna cocktail sausages that were cooked in honey, apparently it a Nigella (who? Grin) recipe. She loved them, and as always I could give two shiney shites!

Anna doesn't nap in her cot any more. She has one nap a day either at about 11am or 2pm the timing actually doesn't make a difference to her night time sleep. She either sleeps in the pram or car.

ledkr I'm more of a Piriton girl myself Blush

Four4me · 15/04/2012 20:52

So sad for your friend deb Sad

tad hope your cousin is doing ok?

ILovePonyo · 15/04/2012 21:36

Ledkr I thought A has similar to what D had. She's coughing over the monitor now Sad need to track down some medised... Wink

Deb oh that sounds so horrible for your friend, awful. Good idea re Vicks, I've done it before and sure it works, agree with wigs that is half the battle!

Wiggles saw you on other thread, that's really been making me laugh. Well the funny ones not the sad ones Blush aw to nice man helping with choking Olivia, ah.

Sorry am still posting on phone as dp is hogging the laptop, I've forgotten everything else. Hope the babies sleep well, I'm back at work tomo too and not looking forward to it.

ILovePonyo · 15/04/2012 21:38

Oh emski, tombliboo bike! Sounds brill Grin and your weekend sounds lovely.

RobinSparkles · 15/04/2012 21:49

Hi, came to post again before but my phone was playing silly buggers Hmm.

Needto, lovely to "see" you!!! Hope you are well!

Debka, how awful for your friend. I'm so sorry to hear that Sad it's such a horrible thing to go through!

Ledkr, sorry D hasn't been well. Hope she's better soon.

Wiggles and Four4, love the pics! Glad you had a lovely meet up :)

I don't think anyone lives near me. I think SmallBlackFlowers was somewhere near (remember her?) but she hasn't posted since the AN thread, since giving birth. Quite a few people have disappeared haven't they? I wonder how they're doing.

I've forgotten what else I was going to say Confused. Never mind, can't have been interesting!

I'm sympathising with the babies at the minute. I'm teething Grin my wisdom teeth are cutting through and they're really hurting! They've been coming through for about 10 years, I wished they'd hurry up.

ILovePonyo · 15/04/2012 22:02

Robin my stupid molar is coming through too, they've also been stopping and starting for years, I have tried some bonjela but it didn't help Angry hope yours stops hurting soon!

ledkr · 15/04/2012 22:04

wiggs I would use piriton if i didnt have access to the sacred medised. Are you watching homeland its so good?Im crying about the little boy.

ponyo Dills coughed all night but never once woke up.It bothers us more than them Will they take her at nursery?.

debwith your new svelt figure you should have no problems "reconnecting" with dh,go on share those pork balls!!
I dont know why they leave women to go through that,i would have hated it and yes i was pretty shocked at how awfull a mc was,it took me ages to get over it and i still wonder about the baby now who would have been about 12 or 13.
ems Boot camp is 2 weeks,im sure i will cheat. I felt anxious about my lunch for work, chicken salad, few nuts and some olives Hmm i normally snack on fruit etc all day.I do feel positive about it though and will have a little bit of brown rice or pasta if im too hungry cos i only want to lose a stone or two so wont be too martyrish.

Back to school tomorrow and Ella is stil arsing around grrr.

Me and my bf have been laughing,we went to bed before ten after one glass of wine,no fags or drunkeness.
Then today we had a stroll in the park in our warm coats and flat shoes with the children and some lunch before doing some healthy shopping then home for a cuppa. Wtf has happened?

wigglesrock · 15/04/2012 22:09

ledkr I know my parents have a busier social life that I do Grin I spent most of the party discussing school choices yesterday and I feel like I've lived a little if I watch an 18 DVD on a school night Grin

RobinSparkles there is no pain like teeth pain Shock

tadjennyp · 15/04/2012 22:47

Ponyo, hope tomorrow goes well.

Emski - sounds like a lovely day.

Four4, not really sure but thanks for asking. Have phoned her, but she isn't answering for obvious reasons.

Sorry, feeling like a bag of shite myself at the moment so have forgotten most of what I have read. Apologies for missing anyone out. Blush

Hope you all get good night's sleep and have a great start to the week.

wigglesrock · 15/04/2012 22:49

tadjennyp · 15/04/2012 22:55

wigglesrock · 15/04/2012 23:00
