Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NeedToSleepZZZ · 16/04/2012 09:38

Morning all!

Tad, how are you doing? Have you seen a doc yet? I had the mirena removed because I didn't stop bleeding after it was put in until they removed it 3 months later. It is amazing for some women but not for others. It could be that it has become dislodged or something and will be easy to fix. Can you still feel the strings?

So sorry to hear of all this toothache doing the rounds, when I saw reastie and Alice last week Alice had a rosy cheek so hope she's not ruining the gnome fun holiday!

Deb, so sorry about your friend. Sounds so awful, hope she's getting a lot of support from everyone around her.

Off to see the paediatrician later, fun fun fun! Have a list of things for him and if it's the one we saw last time then he wont be happy; he's a miserable sod Hmm. Hopefully last time we have to see someone about b's kidney but now he has what they think is a cyst under his foreskin that might need surgery and there is definitely something wrong wi his bowels/ bum. Might be a fissure but he's in agony when he 'goes', which isn't that often now.

Phew, ramble over. Hope you all have fab days whether at work or at home.

Ps, ledkr, good luck with the no/low carb diet. Olives are your friends now Grin

blizy · 16/04/2012 11:00

Needto- poor Ben, I hope the appointment goes well.

Debka - so sorry for your friend.

I'm back to full capacity today with after schoolies. Poor Alfie.Grin
Dh is away again, still working around London. I think I ovulated yesterday, hope we caught it.

I am really down at the minute with him being away so much, at this rate we will never have another baby.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 16/04/2012 13:58

Thanks Blizy, hope you're mindees are behaving themselves, I bet they love little Alfie. I have everything crossed for you this month x

Ben started walking today, just walked across the sitting room as if he did it all the time?!! Shock Took him out and put his reins on and he was almost running along the pavement, is it too pfb to feel very proud? Wink

blizy · 16/04/2012 14:15

Needto- Grin at Ben, bet he was a secret walker!

No kids yet, I'm enjoying the peace until school run time at 2.50pm

ILovePonyo · 16/04/2012 16:33

Hey all just a quick post from me before I pick A up from nursery (they took her ledkr Grin)...

Needto wow go Ben! Love how he just walked like its th most normal thing in the world Grin Reins you say - where did you get them from? I am thinking about getting some too even though they are prob a bit Hmm to some people. Hope the appt goes well, poor B, sounds painful :(

blizy poor Alfie! Hope you 'caught' too. Don't blame you feeling a bit rubbish about your dh being away, I'd feel the same. When is he back?

tad oh no, hope you get it sorted, sounds horrible. If you've not made a gp appt yet we will be nagging you!

ledkr how was your lunch?! Sounds tasty though I dont know if it would keep me full, is that more psychological though?

Right really better go back later on peeps

MizK · 16/04/2012 17:13

Needto poor B, hope he is OK x yay to the walking!
blizy fingers crossed you caught it x don't be down it will happen for you. Must be tough being alone a lot, but thankfully you have Alfie to cuddle now whilst DP is away!
tad hope you are sorted soon, doesnt sound much fun at all x
ledkr Hows the low carbing going? I'm back on WW points today, got 6 weeks til bikini time so if you need someone to share starvation misery with, I'm here....ie tonight everyone else is having homemade pizza from lovely fresh pizza dough - I am having spinach and mushroom noodle soup. (It's actually v yummy but I know which I'd prefer :( )
Hope all having good days?Weird being back to school after two weeks off I must say. Nothing whatsoever has happened today worth writing about so big wave to everyone and I'm off to find a scandalous thread to read whilst Cass smears yogurt all over her face.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 16/04/2012 19:47

MizK, did you find a good juicy thread?

Update from b's appt. He has a fissure and is back on the movicol and need to get some gel to numb things down there until it's healed. Paed is having a meeting next week about his kidney to decide whether he needs another scan or if we can just let it be now (really hope so). He's also talking to the surgeon about his cyst to see if they need to see him or want to wait and see. We were in there for absolutely ages but the doc was great, really friendly and thorough. B cried so much having his bum checked poor thing, I was trying tocalm him but did shed a tear Sad

Ledkr, how goes the diet? Hope you're not climbing the Walls yet Grin

Emski76 · 16/04/2012 21:23

Evening all, just got back from ballet and jazz, it was fab! At jazz we're learning a routine to 'don't stop me now'by Queen. It's so much fun!

Need to, hope Ben is ok after the docs fiddled with him today, poor baby. Welldone to Ben on his secret walking! You must have been over the moon!

Ledkr, how's the first day if your low carb going? I feel I may need to join you or at least get back onto SW, am feeling well flabby especially as a pair of size 12 pair of jeans arrived from Next today and I could barely squeeze into them and my muffin top was horredous! Maybe if I stop living on chocolate and ice cream I may loose a little weight!

Hope your ok Tad, it needs tove sorted for you.

Blizy, I hope your time comes soon. I hate it when dh is away, even with the boys I find it really lonely. Lots of cuddles with Alfie are def in order for you!

We find out about Bens school on Friday, I'm getting soooooo anxious about it, luckily my friend is going through it too. We've made plans to take the boys to soft play Friday to either celebrate or commiserate!

ledkr · 16/04/2012 22:07

Hi all.I guess the low carbing is like any diet, great at first but wont last long.
I ate well though, had nice tea of fish with leeks and mushrooms in creamy sauce and some roasted butternut squash. It actually is abit of a novelty to be able to scoff cheese and have oil and butter.Oh yes and forgot how nice full fat yogurt is.

emsGlad you are enjoying the dancing, have you done it before?
I was helping Ella with some ballet the other day and i ached like buggery the next day.

Im dont mind dh being away tbh,but i lived on my own for so long i got used to my own compny.Hes on a late tonight and i love sitting on my bed in my pjs with my laptop and tv without him saying "you cant do both" Well i can and i will haha.

Cant believ Ben needtogoing from nothing to full on walking.
Dh took dills to toddlers today and he said she loved being able to walk and join in with the songs at the end especially the stamping one but she was so chuffed she fell over from laughing Grin

Emski76 · 17/04/2012 06:44

Morning all
Ledkr, I did ballet and tap as a child but stopped when my mum couldn't get me to the classes anymore. I love it! Am aching a bit this morning, think from attempting to dance rather than actually getting the moves right!

Your meal last night sounds yummy. I find that with diets, there great for a while but then I get bored. Tho when I tried SW I did find I was eating a lovely variety of different foods.

Catch up with you all later. Have good days

wigglesrock · 17/04/2012 08:43

Emski we find out tomorrow about Olivias school - I know about 10 people sweating on it too Grin My best friend is hoping to get her son into a specialist speech and language school - he has very delayed speech and she's climbing the walls.

NeedToSleep yay to Ben - the sneaky walker - he was probably practicing behind your back Grin

ledkr I like it when Mr W is on nights etc as well, I can have toast and various toppings for my dinner guilt free Grin

Sofia went back to school yesterday and came home with a note saying she had to "build" a rainforest for part of her homework Grin They've been studying rainforests for the past few months. Some parents are going to go all out and feckin' order sets from t'internet aren't they? My tupperware covered in cotton wool with a few animals stuck in isn't really going to cut it this time is it? We're trying to figure out how to fit in the three levels of atmosphere! Whatever happened to learning times tables by rote? Grin. Those were the days!

Going with my sister for Emmas first jabs today! Any spare Valium? My sister is a tad dramatic at times Grin

Have lovely days everyone.

debka · 17/04/2012 09:31

Just packed my little girl off to pre school for the first time this morning! . Actually DH took her (she insisted), which was probably better, he just left her and didn't go in, then looked through the window and she was just standing there looking miserable and clutching Mouse, decided she was alright and left Shock.

I wasn't sure whether to send her or not tbh, she woke up hysterical having massively pooed her pull up and the bed, it was vile, and screaming because she had something in her eye Hmm. Bathed her and scrubbed the crusted on shit off her back, then sudocremed the hives that had come up :( and she eventually calmed down, ate her breakfast and got excited about going.

Not sure what to do with myself now, S is asleep, probably ought to do some cleaning, right?

ledkr well done on first day, I must say eating as much butter as you want sounds dead appealing, but I know my insides wouldn't enjoy it.

wiggles build a rainforest? Bloody hell, what's the POINT??!!

emski get you with all the dancing, sounds like fun.

needto poor little Ben with all those problems, sounds like you're dealing with it all very well. When Imy was constipated I found some prune juice once a day really helped.

You back yet reastie? How were the gnomes?

blizy · 17/04/2012 09:35

Debka- imy will have a ball! What you talking about woman, doing house work when you have some peace? Have a coffee and a relax, you deserve it. Grin

Wiggles- fingers crossed for the school place. A rainforest? Jeezo. Good luck with that. Grin

debka · 17/04/2012 09:52

Aw thanks blizy :) I am still sitting on my arse MNing! Have you any mindees today or have you taken them all to school already?

blizy · 17/04/2012 10:17

I am doing the same. kids in school, baby sleeping= result! Off to softplay when he wakes up, so I'm enjoying the peace.Grin

debka · 17/04/2012 10:20

I'm not sure what to do with S when she wakes up, I'm not used to just having her! We may pop out then pick up Imy on the way home. No call from the pre school so she must be doing ok so far :)

blizy · 17/04/2012 10:25

Just enjoy your nice quality time with bina. What time does Imy finish? How are you coping with her being away?

NeedToSleepZZZ · 17/04/2012 11:43

Sending spare Valium to wiggles! Good luck with your ds today, not fun the first or any time. Will have everything crossed for o's school place, I'm shocked at the thought of having to make a rain forest just like that. God knows what they'll be doing by the time the littlest ones go to school!

Hand holding with you deb for Imy, bet she's having fun now though. Enjoy s this morning. Oh, we tried prune juice, apple juice, lactulose etc for months and nothing worked Sad but hopefully the gel will help him when we get it.

Blizy, enjoy your peace and quiet before baby wakes! How is Alfie doing? Is he still waking you up at a ridiculous hour?

Hope everyone is having a good day today. We've started on the new sleep regime (thanks ledkr!) so will see how things go tomorrow morning...

NeedToSleepZZZ · 17/04/2012 11:44

Oh, meant to add that it would appear that b may well have been a secret walker. He got up this morning and has only crawled once, he is trying to runShock, how did that happen???

wigglesrock · 17/04/2012 13:59

NeedToSleepZZZ oh oh running Grin, he'll be climbing up slides next Blush Am afraid Four4Me can vouch for As wrecking the slide for all at the park, or Mr Ws frantic chasing her down!

debka big big hug, the first time I had the house to myself when both Sofia and Olivia were away before Anna was born, I mooched around dolefully, the next time I did a jig of joy Grin Hope Imy has a lovely day xx

blizy damn I was hoping from insightful "how to build a rainforest" advice from you Grin Enjoy soft hell play.

Emmas jabs went fine, my sister went a bit doolally but was ok when she got home Grin

My aunt gave her old wii to us at the weekend, I can't get excited about it, but the girls and Mr W are having a fab time. Olivia is really good at the games with a bat or racquet, but her favourite is the boxing Shock

tadjennyp · 17/04/2012 18:16

Sounds yummy ledkr!

Glad Emma's injections went ok, wiggles and wtf with the rain forest?! Good luck for tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

Poor Benneedto. Sad Hope the cream works really effectively. You're doing so well coping with that.

Hope you had a good morning without Imy, debka. It's always tough the first time. Hope you had a great time at soft play too, blizy. Fingers x'd for this month.

Emski - the dancing sounds wonderful and so much fun!

I hope everyone has had a really good day and older dcs have got used to being back at school quickly. Still bleeding here. Sad Doc said last week to wait a month and see how it goes now I've stopped bfing. It's certainly being an effective contraceptive. Wink

See you all later!

tadjennyp · 17/04/2012 18:20

Oh, wiggles, my two eldest love the wii, especially E. I had put a stop to the boxing though as it morphed into kick-boxing and ended in tears (my Dad's favourite line from when we were kids ourselves!)

Four4me · 17/04/2012 20:03

Last nights tea sounds yummy ledkr I always joke that if I ever won the lottery the first thing I'd do would be to pay someone to cook lovely meals for us. Just get seriously sick of thinking what to feed everyone.

needto well done Ben walking/running, that is fab. He must have been secretly practicing, so funny. He will be joining Anna at slide climbing Grin soon.

Thinking of you awaiting school places wiggles and em fingers crossed.

Hope that Imy has enjoyed pre-school deb my dh is better at dumping dropping off at nursery/pre school. I'm a sucker for falling for the wobbly lip! I'm sure she settled quickly.

Hope you had fun at soft play blizy and Alfie looks so cute in the bowl photo on fb.

Hi tad hope you are ok? Thought of you the other day dh had a customer come to buy some furniture from Tadcaster!

Well on Sunday morning Imogen decided she was too cool for nappies and that we were potty training. She has done really well, yesterday she was dry all day till 6.15 and wet herself going up for her bath. Couple of accidents today but def getting there. I have been dreading it as the boys were so lazy, but she is so excited about stickers and choc button rewards she has been running to the loo every ten mins or so!!!!

Four4me · 17/04/2012 20:15

Forgot to say that had Archie had his eye clinic appt today and the consultant thinks the tear ducts are blocked and wants to review him in six months and decide then whether to operate.

And I won a Ella's kitchen upcycled cool bag for recycling the pouches with Terricycle. I never win anything!! Lottery ticket here I come! X

Grannyapple · 17/04/2012 21:51

Hello ladies...just back from a training run for this race in
May...will be glad when it's over...managed 6.13km tonight. Hoping it doesn't rain at running club on Thursday night Hmm.

wiggs I was a bit Shock at your rainforest project! Dh says make a hol, paint it red (represents the iron rich soil), & put tree stumps on the hill, representing the deforestation process Hmm I told him these projects will be his area of expertise when N is at school!

ledkr that happened to me a few months back...got a fright when I opened the back car door & there was N covered in puke as we were about to go into a baby class. He had a horrid cough at the time do I assumed it was that (he was in rear facing car seat at time). The smell is horrific too. Is Dills ok now?

needto go Ben with the walking. Have noticed N today doing lots of freestanding...think he won't be far away with the walking now (thank god...he weighs nearly 12kg!).

Just booked a grouping deal for afternoon tea at a posh London hotel for me & one of my nct friends..we're both really excited to have a baby free day & lots of cocktails. Now I've booked it, I'm hoping we both won't be preggers by then, so that we can enjoy it Grin

Hiya blizy tad 44me & everyone else Smile
