debka · 11/04/2012 22:06

Blimey took me forever to catch up!

Hi everyone! Good to hear from needto delia tarlia and choc :)

Envy of wiggs and 44's meet up.

reastie and needto and granny I'd be up for a Bluewater meet up

ledkr cracking thread title, good luck on the low carbing :)

Got back from the show yesterday, pils behaved themselves in the main, but poor S picked up a virus and threw up vociferously and copiously all over the table in the restaurant on Sun pm, twice, then was sick every 1/2 hr till 3am. In a hotel room. We went through every towel in the hotel I think! She's not sick any more now but streaming with cold and getting all four molars at the same time Shock

Emski76 · 12/04/2012 06:04

Morning all,
Kids are asleep but I'm awake at this ridiculous time as dh was up early for work and finds it impossible to be quiet!

Led, glad you enjoyed Weston, hope you waved as you drove in! Hope you didn't get caught in the rain too!

Four4 and Wiggles, lovely pics, seems you had a fantastic time. I am not at all jealous!

Blizy, make your dad wait for your wedding pics, he knows where you live. Sounds like Alfie is settling in nicely!

Hey Choc, good to hear all ok.i saw your pics on FB, Romilly is gorgeous! Running?? Noah's still crawling, attempts to walk but gives up quickly.hecan clear the stairs in about 5 seconds tho!

Ponyo, yum to your and dh's date today. I love the image of all the Feb girl babies with clips and bunches in their hair!

Delia, I love the image of C gathering things together and putting them places. I remember Ben having a thing about putting things in the laundry basket, the things I found in there!!i agree with Tad, try not to feel guilty about going away for a few days, dads do it all the time. Dh has barely seen the boys this week and tho he misses them I don't think he feels guilty about it!

Need to and Reastie, am jel of your fun day together. Good that you had fun tho!hehe to introducing Alice to computer games! Need to after Ben was born and for a good few years after I didn't want another baby and some people did react strangely, I say 'raspberries' to them, do what's best for you and your family.

Deb, good to have you back, sorry S was so poorly when you were away, poor you. See on Fb that your straight back into running, well done!

Well hi to everyone. I'm off to have a nice shower before the madness begins!

ledkr · 12/04/2012 08:07

Hi all.

emski grrrr at letting the secfet of the rain out.I wanted everyone to imagine me in balmy tropical climes Grin

Welcome back Deb glad pil behaved.Wish i could say the same,im pretty much done with mine tbh.Goint to go back to not bothering and let dh go up there,i just cant be arsed.

May i moan? Dills seems to have had this cough and cold forever. Its doing my head in now, constant snot and coughing, wont eat anything and just moans constantly.I wouldnt mind sitting and cuddling all day but she insists on still playing whilst falling over and crying Hmm
I know i sound less than sympathetic but it does get you down doesnt it?

Oh and ems Dh set his alarm for 5.30 today then didnt get up till 6 i was Angry he knows he wouldnt get up at that time so i was wide awake whilst he had a nice snooze grrrr.

reastie · 12/04/2012 11:40

Hello all

Good to see you deb . Poor Bean (and all of you) with all that sick. My greatest sympathies it was awful when Alice was sick everywhere Confused

Alice can run Grin usually when she picks up a bit of food from the floor she knows she shouldn't have and then runs away from me laughing and trying to eat said food. She also now has a fetish for throwing anything she can find in the bath and down the stairs

ledrk I'm with you on the general moaning with unwellness. It feels like it drags on and on and you know it's not their fault but it is utterly exhausting and pretty stressful.

I have my alarm all set for 5:15 tomorrow Shock . We are off on hols for the week and have to leave super early in the hope of missing rush hour in the M25 Confused . Will have no internet so don't chat too much without me Grin

wiggles have the gaggle arrived yet? Good luck Grin

needto meet was great thanks and I didn't arrive wearing a dress held together with safety pins this time either Wink . Ben is a sweetie and Alice very much enjoyed playing with him and all the exciting toys he has Grin

blizy hope today is better

Emski76 · 12/04/2012 12:19

Oops sorry Ledkr, re rain. Weston can look do lovely when it's sunny and so shit when it's grey and cloudy!

Moany babies, yep we have two here, one baby and one pre schooler. Noah is teething big time. The whole bottom right side of his gums are swollen and at least two teeth are coming thru. He's fine at night, think goodness, but can turn from happy to whiny in seconds during the day. And Ben is becoming a typical 4/5 yest old, lots of 'I don't love you then mummy', I told him the other day after he'd said it several times that it wasn't a nice thing to say and that maybe saying he's angry with me would be nicer!

We've already been to Sainsburys and done some gardening. Ben was a great help but Noah insisted on digging in the mud with his hands and eating it!

Right, off for Bens swimming lesson now, then chill while Noah, hopefully, sleeps for a few hours. Catch you all later

wigglesrock · 12/04/2012 13:27

Oh God, other peoples children are even more irritating than my own Shock, who'd have thunk it? Grin

They have just ravaged my kitchen and I'm frightened to go upstairs but its very noisy which is a good thing, at least I know they're all still there!

reastie have a fab holiday,

ledkr you have my sympathies, had an emergency run to Dr this morning with Olivias throat, its a recurring thing. Her throat is very red, no infection so lots of liquids. Wish he had been here at 3.30am this morning when she was screaming with that very insightful info [eyeroll]

I hope you all have quieter days than me Grin

ILovePonyo · 12/04/2012 15:33

Wiggles that sounds like a nightmare Grin you are very brave indeed. Hope you've got some choc and/or wine for later!

Deb glad you're back, sorry about the poorlys, boo.

Just wanted to join in and say yes to whiny babies, A is the same and won't cuddle either, just cry and want to be picked up then squirm to get down.
She was awake last night so eventually I brought her into our bed where she squirmed for an hour then still woke at 6am Hmm

I just came on to moan about that really Blush back later to post properly, am on my phone at the mo

NeedToSleepZZZ · 12/04/2012 15:45

ems ouch to teething, Ben now has his molars through but is still dribbling, It Never Ends does it? The swollen gums look so painful don't they? Ben resorted to biting anything and everything. The cheap boots own gel helped though. Grin at your Ben growing up, you really have your hands full there! Hope you managed to get a bit of a rest.

reastie Will be thinking of you tomorrow and hope the drive down goes well. Sounds like you'll have a great time when your there though, must have a pic of Alice in her wellies please!

wiggles It is true, hell is other people Wink Get the ibuprofen and gin out and sit down woman! Sorry to hear about Olivia's throat, the doc made full use of his medical training there didn't he? Hmm How long has it been going on for?

ledkr God your DH sounds like mine, drives me mad how he can sleep through anything whilst I wake at the slightest sound then can't get back to sleep. It is horrible when your baby's ill and you moan away, have you been able to get out of the house today? I think cabin fever is the worst thing and exacerbates the situation.

blizy glad it's not you that the mad dad is getting lawyers involved with. I seem to have fallen for Alfie, he's such a sweetie! Hope your mindees have behaved a bit better with him today.

deb How is Sabine today? Hope she's on the up. I don't even know where Bluewater is but a meet up would be great!

Not much happening here, rainy and cold so making a huge roast dinner to warm the cockles.

Hi to everyone else!

wigglesrock · 12/04/2012 15:47

Many thanks ponyo Grin, well have survived! On a quick look it looks like the house has too!! Only one left, and her Mum said she might be a bit late and could I hold onto her for a bit longer. I've been had, haven't I? Grin, she's going to rock up at about 6pm Shock

reastie · 12/04/2012 18:47

wiggles glad you made it out alive Grin - has that last one gone yet?! Bte very useful GP advice Hmm

ponyo maybe anya is paying you back being up at night for getting a day to yourself Hmm

Well, this may be my last post for the week as all stations a go go for getting organised for hols. Our nearest tourist attraction to where we are staying is a gnome reserve Grin can't wait Grin . Photos of Alice with gnomes I'm sure will follow Wink

blizy · 12/04/2012 19:28

Reastie- enjoy your holiday and the gnomes! Grin

Wiggles- glad you survived the madness! I hope the cling on has been picked up?

Today has been slightly better, although baby mindee was a major grump. The curse of the molars. I am off tomorrow, I will enjoy the peace before they all return on monday.

debka · 12/04/2012 19:39

reastie have a fabbo holiday before I forget, enjoy the gnomes Hmm Grin

wiggles well done for making it through the day- when do they go back to school? How many hours? Grin

ledkr I'm like that with my pils, I make no effort and we're all a lot happier Hmm. I really couldn't give a rat's arse if they don't like me, so long as they treat my children well.

needto Bluewater is at the top of the M2, not far from the Dartford Tunnel.

Yy to molars, S is a sunny little sausage normally but she is awful at the moment, whingey, crying at nothing, clingy as heck and now not eating either. Soon as those feckers finish coming through, the better. We're at the dentist tomorrow, maybe I'll ask her to give them a little hand Grin

Sad news, my friend who was on this thread briefly, and fell pg 10 weeks ago, has just found out the baby died at about 6wks :( She had a scan on Tuesday. Still waiting to actually miscarry, she says it's the worst kind of limbo.

Emski76 · 12/04/2012 19:48

Oh Deb , I'm so sorry to hear your friends sad news. My sister had the same thing happen three years ago and is still heartbroken. It's such an awful thing to go thru.

Teeth, glorious teeth, eh? Poor little monkeys all in pain. I really feel bad for Noah when I can see that he's in pain.

Wiggles, you are v v v brave having all those girls at your house. I clench when Ben only has one friend here and that's with the friends mum here too!

Reastie, good hols to you. Enjoy the gnomes.

Four4me · 12/04/2012 21:24

I'm back! Had a fab time. wiggles MrW and the girls were lovely and it was great to meet up. S, O and A are all beautiful little girlies.

Off to catch up.......

ledkr · 12/04/2012 22:06

deb sorry about your friend thats what happened to me at 12 weeks but i was in pain so they did an op which i was gratefull for,i was a nurse so got a private room but had to go home to wait for it to be available and it felt very odd to be at home where previously id been expecting a baby in another 6 months.
Thanks for all the support re Dills and pils Grin Dilly has been in a right mood, mostly stomping around the house only stopping to hit us or do something naughty whilst staring at us eg-banging the tv,she has twice found Ellas easter eggs and ran off eating them through the foil then had a massive paddy when we caught her. Her cold does seem slightly better but i seem to be developing it now Hmm

reastie have a fab hol and lay off those gnomes.
wiggs I hope you have recovered now.Im more fond of play dates now Ella is older as they tend to isolate in her bedroom or dance in the back room,Els is very anal about her bedroom so its always put back together nicely too.

We are watching planet of the apes (the newish one) what a load of actual crap, its like a kids film and dh is making hilarious remarks all the time so im in hysterics.

ledkr · 12/04/2012 22:08

wiggles I meant to say,i get a very sore and inflamed throat when I am tired or run down, ive had my tonsils out but it just reccurrs,it has stopped flaring up as much since i started to take berocca btw.

wigglesrock · 13/04/2012 06:59

Morning

To be honest yesterday afternoon wasn't as horrific as I had thought Grin, the last one was away for 5pm but her Mum brought wine and biccies so she can come again!

Olivia is prone to throat infections, she usually sounds like a 40 a day smoker anyway, but she is a real wee bull with regards to fighting off illness unlike the other delicate flower - a sniff and she's taken to her bed sofa! I got in from work at 10.45pm last night and Olivia had just woken up and thrown up (luckily into our handy "sickbowl" - bleurgh), although she settled quite quickly and had a better night. I'm off to work this morning so Mr W is in charge [snicker]

ledkr She is exhausted and Mr W thinks shes a bit run down, Sofias friends also left upstairs tidy Shock

debka sad news xx

Have lovely Fridays all, its pissing down here!

blizy · 13/04/2012 07:54

Wiggles- wine and biscuits, I'd have her round again! Hope your day at work is ok.

Ledkr- poor dilly sounds like she doesn't know what to do with herself. Hope she feels better soon.

Debka- Sad about your friend. Poor little bean being do sick.

Bloody Alfie cat had me up at 6am on my day off! worse than a baby I tell ya, he is asleep on my chest now. Grin. A nice quiet day is on order for me.

blizy · 13/04/2012 20:06

All quiet today, hope you are all having a great Friday! Grin

ILovePonyo · 13/04/2012 20:39

Evening,

Had a nice day with A today, she was entertaining herself earlier for about half an hour with a cup and her sock, she kept putting her sock in, taking it out and putting a smaller cup in the big one, then putting her dummy in, was cute and she really doesn't play on her own that much so I just sat and watched thinking how cute she is Grin saddo I could have been mn-ing Wink

blizy Grin at the kitten, anymore bum wiping today?! Actually I don't want to know Grin

deb oh your friend, I am so sorry, that is so sad. Glad its not just A who is clingy at the mo, teeth are such a pain for babies aren't they, hope bean is ok.

reastie gnomes Shock ok then! Enjoy your hols and look forward to seeing some pics of A with her new gnome friends :)

ledkr Grin at D running off with easter eggs, A had a massive paddy in sainsbobs earlier b'cos we put some mini doughnuts in the trolley and didn't give her one Hmm She went from happy and smiley to screeching with rage, we ignored her and then gave her a doughnut at home

wigs how did Mr W get on today?! Hope the girls are ok.

A slept through last night Shock Still up at 6 but I was feeling v good after a full nights sleep :) Hope everyone is having a good day/evening :)

wigglesrock · 13/04/2012 21:32

Olivia is much better this evening, although her poor throat is still very sore, at least the pukiness has stopped. Although I think it was the pain making her sick as opposed to actual vomiting Sad

blizy when we had our cat, he used to wake me up by repeatedly pulling my hair, our bedroom door didn't close properly, at about 2.30am because that's when he used to like his dinner Shock Guess what soft touch used to get up and feed him? Blush

ponyo Ah yes the mini doughnut wars, we've had several, thats wars and boxes of doughnuts Grin

We have a birthday party tomorrow, waiting to see if Olivia is going with us. If not she's spending the day with my dad, not actually sure which one she prefers Grin Tbh I think if I tell her I'll bring her party bag home, my Dad might win. She's her Pas girl, not sure if its the lure of on tap crisps, the adventuring in the garage or the fact that he lets her hurtle around on Sofias bike that provides the greatest entertainment!

Taking me forever to post this, my internet couldn't be going any slower if I was winding it up.

Night night

MizK · 14/04/2012 20:34

Hi everyone, been so so shit at keeping up over Easter. The hols are full on chaos I tell you. Been super busy but will do better!
wiggles and four4 I love the pics of the meet up, I really love thread meetups even if they don't involve me, makes me feel like we're a real gang :)
blizy your kitten is so cute! I'm not even an animal lover and I feel a bit smitten with his teeny kitty self!
ledkr I'm smiling at stompy naughty Dilly, its somehow endearing when babies this age try to be bad! PS your MIL in particular sounds like an utter bitch. I hate people picking at children esp if its motivated by spite which this sounds like. I hope Ella doesnt let it get to her too much. MY PILs and SIL arrived laden with gifts for C and Easter eggs for my two, but I don't think they do it to be mean so I havent said anything so far, plus my older 2 get horribly spoiled by their dad's family so I guess it evens out.
ponyo Oh dear you will soon have to hide all the treats from A I think :)
debka sorry about your friend. The same happened to me and the worst bit was the wait for the mc to happen naturally. Its just so horrid cause you are dreading it and at the same time you're scared of what it will be like. Love to her x
reastie Looking foward to seeing some gnome pics...have a great time x

Feeling hungover due to wine and cheese with BF last night. More wine than cheese by some margin. House is v calm, DP sleeping off his excitement of Liverpool winning today so may doss about on MN all night :)

Four4me · 14/04/2012 21:36

Hope everyone is ok? Hi mizk busy here too. Just getting all the washing up to date and ready for boys back to school. Meeting wiggles was ace, we could have chatted for hours, I felt like I'd known her for ages!

Hope the kitten is behaving blizy ?

So sad for your friend deb hope she is ok? And that S has recovered.

Waves to needto and talia lovely to 'see' you.

Loving the gorgeous photos on fb of ems boys and ponyo 's A.

Glad the wiggles household survived the invasion of little girls.

Your pil are the pits ledkr

All good here, boys been at parties today, feel like a taxi driver! Archie is so bloody laid back I am starting to doubt if he'll ever get off his butt and walk! Grin but at least I have only got Imogen's diva moments to deal with!

ledkr · 14/04/2012 22:49

Wow,i just had to tell you about m vom nightmare today.I decided to take dills to the park to dilute the whinging and Ela was out with her god mother.

On the way i could hear D puking in the back and it sounded bad,i was trying to look for a a space but then she sounded as if she was choking so i had to stop in the middle of the rd and run round to get her out.
There was literally vomit everywhere,i have never seen so much,i couldnt put her back in the vom ladden car seat so i had to put her on the front seat and slowly drive to a disabled space to get her stripped off. I then couldnt work out how to get her home with no seat so rang a few people,in the end ds2 came to the rescue and held her on his lap whilst i drove slowly home.
It took an hour to clean the car and get the car seat stripped off and washed.

I was a tad trumatised. Im not sure why it happened, she still has her cough and is on anti b's so could be that or maybe car sick.
She was fine afterwards.

Els gm is staying and we usually have a good drink but we were in bed by 10.
Dh is out toniht so im hoping he isnt too drunk when he comes to bed.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 15/04/2012 12:33

god ledkr, that is a nightmare. I've often wondered what I would do in situations like that, sounds like you coped admirably. How is Dilly today? I didn't know they could get carsick at this age (I am emetophobic and this has frightened me now). Hope DH wasn't drunk when he returned and that you're having a good Sunday.

Four4me, that's kind of how I feel about Ben but instead of thinking laid back, I think he's a little bit lazy Wink, unfortunately he still has massive whinges about things.

wiggles, glad to hear Olivia is feeling better, poor mite. Did she go to the party?

ponyo, love the story of A and her sock; enjoy it, you're not a complete saddo Grin

Hi Mizk, glad to hear all is well. My df is a spurs fan so he'll be either over excited or drowning his sorrows later. I don't mind watching a bit of footy but glad OH isn't interested.

Well, after the migraine from hell yesterday I feel so much better and have spring cleaned the house and mnetted all morning and have the excitement of the weekly trip to Asda to look forward to later, life just doesn't get any better than this does it? Hmm Got a bit upset with OH yesterday as he was SO moany about 'having' to look after Ben because I was in bed with stupid head. Doesn't he realise that that's what I do 95% of the time? We a a talk this morning and he apologised. Fortunately the migraines aren't as frequent now, only had one in the last 3 months so fingers crossed they're on their way out.

Sorry, that was even more boring than a trip to Asda... Have lovely Sundays you lot!
