Got the theme tune to timmy time stuck in my head and I need a wee!

aethelfleda · 11/03/2012 03:53

It's a slippery slope. One day you'll be happy with Timmy Time. Then one day you get offered some Sean The Sheep, and before you know it you'll be in the gutter mainlining Horrible Histories and Trapped!.....And the monstrosities of Prank Patrol and the many guises of those addled fiends Sam And Mark (and Dick and Dom). Shudder....

hawthers · 11/03/2012 04:05

I've got a serious mike the knight, bob the builder, big and small habit already. I know when it is getting too much when fucking irritating Thomas busts out. That is when I need to seek help

aethelfleda · 11/03/2012 04:08

Ok. Don't know who Mike The Knight is. Is it wrong that that makes me feel better?

Ps wait til they get to 6 and discover how to work Youtube on the DVD player: this can lead to some interesting experiences: do not look up Thomas the Tank on there!!!!

hawthers · 11/03/2012 04:09

Oh lordy really? Good top tip. Mike is actually the best of the bunch and my personal favorite

aethelfleda · 11/03/2012 06:42

Ah. Just had a chat with DD2 who informs me that Mike the knight is "great and chops off all the baddies' heads with a big sword and a horse".
I suspect he may be on Saturday mornings, cos that's when I have a nit of a lie-in and send them downstairs with the remote and strict instructions to only watch kiddy channels!

Morning all...

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 11/03/2012 07:44

Aarrrgghh.....

aethelfleda · 11/03/2012 08:13

Aaargh?

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 11/03/2012 09:30

Just needed to let the stress out and calm down - which I am now Smile

KateM77 · 11/03/2012 10:19

Hawthers your post about Timmy Time music made me Grin You've got your revenge allready though, because I now have the Mike the Knight music stuck in my head! Favourites here are Timmy Time, Baby Jake and Little Charley Bear, with a bit of Postman Pat and In The Night Garden thrown in for good measure. Oh dear, DD's Beebies consumption has shot up since DS arrived Blush

Figgygal · 11/03/2012 10:30

Just want to add to the tv talk From looking after DN on occasion i have encountered special agent oso and mickeys clubhouse both are to be banned from our house once DS big enough to watch tv due to being VERY repetitive. I do quite enjoy peppa pig and of course spongebob!!

Already building my dvd collection for him thus far the lion king, shrek 2, ice age, how to train your dragon, aladdin are on the shelf and then little mermaid & beauty and the beast for me which he will just have to indulge Grin.

AnAirOfHope · 11/03/2012 10:43

Morning everyone

I hope you all have a fab Sunday xx

In our house we have movie night on a Friday with MacD's tea Blush We have loads of childrens DVD's but Aarons fav is Cars and cars2 which we have seen over a 100 times each now. My current fav is Dispicable me - Frezze ray Grin We went to get Tangled yeasterday but i couldn't find it in any of the shops so we ended up getting the Heffulump movie.

msbuggywinkle · 11/03/2012 10:59

I love Discipcable Me! DDs don't like it though.

I have got the DDs into the old cartoons of Fantastic Four and X-men. DD1 loves pretending to be Jean Grey as one of her middle names is Jean!

seven77 · 11/03/2012 12:22

We love Mike the Knight and Octonauts and I like chuggington.

Hope everything is ok determined.

DD slept from 11.30 until 7, just a shame I was up 3 times with DS during the night. One time DH went into him because he was upset, it turned out his ear was cold Hmm

KateM77 · 11/03/2012 13:09

Oh yes, we have Octonauts and Chuggington too, and who can forget Raa Raa the Noisy Lion?

DS slept 8-3.30 and then until 8am. Shame DD was awake at 2.30 and I didn't get back to sleep before DS woke. She'd lost her dummy Sad She only has it for sleeping, and I really need to wean her off it, but have been putting it off. For the last couple of weeks she's been waking early in the mornings, and ending up in bed with us. I've been pushing bedtime a little later each night but it doesn't seem to be making any difference. She has a blackout blind so I don't think it's because it's lighter in the mornings Confused

aethelfleda · 11/03/2012 13:13

Ooh, kiddy DVDs! When they get to that age go onto play.com abd Amazon: they sell retro kiddy DVDs, often for a fiver or less. The Older shows can be more relaxing and tuneful than some of the newer ker-pow offerings. My two loved Trumpton, Ivor the Engine, Chorlton and the Wheelies, Bagpuss, Trapdoor, Willo the Wisp, Dangermouse....

Figgygal · 11/03/2012 13:19

Loved trapdoor!!!!

msbuggywinkle · 11/03/2012 14:13

Percy the Park keeper and Brambly Hedge too aethel I agree that they can be a bit more chilled than Cbeebies current offerings.

Mostly the DDs like My little pony though, which is often surprisingly funny and has some good jokes for adults too.

aethelfleda · 11/03/2012 19:23

Ooh we need a new thread...

Mmmmcheese · 11/03/2012 19:25

I hate Baby Jake as the theme tune stays in my head all night long! Our favourites are Shaun the Sheep, Timmy and just disxovered Raa Raa. DS can now say Zebra, Giraffe and Elephant thanks to Raa Raa. And Farmer and Dirty thanks to Shaun :) His consumption of Cbeebies has also gone up recentrly. I donrt think its too bad, espeically if you talk to them at the same time e.gm oooh look at Shaun's red bucket etc. It helps DS's vocab (desperately trying to convince myself!)
