Sounds like it mopsy ! Sorry, but it is meant to be tenporary...

hawthers · 08/03/2012 04:58

Ow ow ow blocked duct AGAIN totally fed up with this one area on my right boob that can't sort itself out grrr

Figgygal · 08/03/2012 05:17

Morning all

Ah well he went longer than I thought he would since he'd been sizer or full on conked out since 7 last night. He woke me up with his thrashing about at 2 but he's only just got me up at 5, now he's fallen asleep on his bottle Hmm.

Benny hope you come back tell me about your tendonitis, I've had wrist pains in left hand since 3 months pg and right since 7 months, it's still not much better and also find it's worse if I spend a lot of time 1 handed reading, writing on iPod. Did it's start when pg? I really need to see dr again as some days cant pick him up without it hurting and find his car seat very hard to unbuckle.

Figgygal · 08/03/2012 05:18

Bloody autotext......dozey not sizer!!

bennybenbear · 08/03/2012 07:38

figgy it started at about 7 months pregnant and was told it was likely to be carpal tunnel and go after the birth. But it's just got worse and worse and I also struggle picking LO up etc, breast feeding was agony getting the hold right and I'm sure contributed to why I didn't last v long. At 8 week check dr said it was tendonitis not carpal tunnel and gave me deep heat cream (yes v practical with a newborn!) and extra strength ibuprofen but I can't take that long term as my stomach will be wrecked! I need to go back as it's getting worse but also thinking of trying acupuncture.

Any other tips from anyone as it's s bot hard to rest both hands!!?!!

YBR · 08/03/2012 09:11

benny I've had tendonitis in the past and got referred to a physio. Alongside the treatment we figured out ways to keep it calm. I now mainly control it myself - went back for more physio only after 12 years! It can take a while for the referal so you may need to push you GP.

aethelfleda · 08/03/2012 12:05

Definitely ask for a physio referral benny. Tendonitis gives pain, whereas carpal tunnel gives you a numb thumb and first two fingers.

Have you tried using wrist supports (gentle ones like neoprine wrist supports that allow flexinility?) boots sell them for about £15, may be worth trying one while you wait for the physio. Neoprine is the stuff theyvmake wetsuits from.

MissRee · 08/03/2012 12:54

I have a poorly Freya today - she's got the snots big time :( she doesn't have a temp tho and is sleeping it off at the moment I think - it's been 5 hours since her last feed. Should I wake her do you think?

MissRee · 08/03/2012 13:38

I think I need to self impose an OBEM ban... I want to do it again!!!

msbuggywinkle · 08/03/2012 13:41

Weighed Miri this morning, she is 11lb14 at 12 weeks. She is slooooowly creeping down the centiles, but not worried as the others did it too!

I just got spectacularly pooped on! I needed a full change of clothes, oh the glamour!

missree I'd wake her if she doesn't wake in the next hour, more for your sanity if she decides to sleep all day and be awake all night!

mopsytop · 08/03/2012 14:04

missbuggy, your post made me laugh, having been variously adorned with vomit, poo, wee and snot this week, I feel super glam! I especially love the vom in the hair that I didn't notice at first until I was wondering why part of my hair was all stiff!!!

Right off for second visit to dentist in as many days. Sigh.

NorthernChinchilla · 08/03/2012 14:45

So it was all a bit 'There's Something About Mary' then Mopsy? And don't know if 'spectacular' is the right word MsB, perhaps voluminous?! Let me say it again, hurrah for washing machines!

Feeling rather grim here; under the weather yesterday and worse today, combined with a headache, which I never, ever get. Just want to curl up in bed. DS, God bless his little toes, went down in his cot for his morning sleep and I got in the bed in his room, and then we both slept til half 12! He doesn't seem to nap for more than an hour, so don't know if it was because I was in the room.

Tendonitis still bloody awful here too Benny, so you have my sympathy. It's when I hear, and feel, then tendons clunk as I move my hand that I grimace. We can make up a club with YBR and figgy.... Sad

We're the same mmmm re. bedtimes, and I'm planning on trying aethel's suggestion. I haven't tried to impose anything, as I think it's pretty pointless, but DS has gone from being happily awake all evening to just napping and feeding from about 7 onwards, or being grouchy, which suggests to me he's ready to make the shift.

Right, have mainlined one of our special coffees, so even though I feel like shite I've got fake energy- washing here I come!

fusam · 08/03/2012 15:22

msbuggy You have my sympathies, I got sicked up on my 'best' silk shirt 5 mins after getting dressed. That teaches me for trying to glam it up Hmm.

p.s. how do I get added to the facebook group again?

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 08/03/2012 15:51

Hope everyone & babies feel better soon and you all get some much needed sleep.

I thankfully haven't been vomited on like that yet (touch wood).

Having to put Sky onto 6oz bottles now as she is now finishing 5oz's Shock

DP paid for me to go and have my hair cut & eyebrows waxed this morning so feel a bit better about myself. Just off to collect Darcie from school as she had Sam'creep up' After school club today.

BeeMyBaby · 08/03/2012 16:28

msb & mopsy I had major poo leakage at baby group this morning by DD2 but had forgotten to bring her spare clothes so had to stick DD1's spare tights on her (18-24m) and they didn't actually fit that badly thankfully, unfortunately I didn't have any spare trousers for myself so was left with a sickly sweet stinky patch on my leg.

fusam pm easilybored your facebook name

AnAirOfHope · 08/03/2012 17:21

Got Hope weighted and she is 11lb 2oz @15 weeks and just below the 9th centila so down from the 50th centile when born. She is putting on 2.5oz per week but she has been ill for 3 weeks and normaly only puts on 3oz per week when well. But i'm still worried.

DH trying to tellme she is ok as i'm only 5"2 and she is till in 0-3 month clothes so tiny compared to Air t the same age. She has been pooing alot everyday this week too. She is content, sleeps from 10pm till 4am and has started to try to turn over on her tummy and has started to lift her head and body up to sit up. Maybe she will have a growth spur next week to make up for the low weight?

Sad
AnAirOfHope · 08/03/2012 17:34

Shock she is not 15 weeks she is only 14 weeks so its 2.3oz per week and with her being ill that should be ok right?

aethelfleda · 08/03/2012 19:30

PMSL about "There's Something about Mopsy" !!

air, if she's well but gaining slowly, it's probably fine but do have a little chat with your GP? I would say health visitor but they tend to be overcautious and would pribably point you to GP anyway so best to save the trip... The main thing is that Hope finds "her" centile to grow along, if she keeps dropping then it will need watching. A well baby is always less concerning than a grizzly sad one, but if you're concerned then best to see the doc for a checkover discussion.

seven, thanks again for the truffle recipe: have been passing a few around to some of the school mums and they went down extremely well!

Ouch, DS has just had a monster feed/fuss session and has conked out: it's a bit too early, bodes poorly for my nights sleep, but never mind. Off to the moses basket for you, young man....

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 08/03/2012 19:50

'There's something about Mopsy' Grin that has def put a smile on my face today.

Air If Hope seems to be okay then I wouldn't worry about it too much. If your concerned speak to your GP.

Darcie has been brilliant again today, not had one scream at all Grin YAY!

Sky has turned into a little Milk Monster is now on 6oz bottles is soundo in her mose's basket at the moment...not sure how much longer she will last in there tho :( I think Sky is teething, she is constantly dribbling and trying to put everything in her mouth, was thinking of making some carrot sticks & cucumber sticks for her to suck on. At 11 weeks would that be alright? Its all changed since Darcie was a baby!

DP has gone up the pub for a few drinks with a friend of ours who we haven't seen for a while (I'm seeing him Monday with the girls). He paid for me to have a lovely haircut & eyebrow shaping (not that he's noticed yet) and i'm going to Zumba tomorrow night - the pain will be immense Sat morning lol.

Hope everyone gets a good night sleep.

Re: weaning. What age will everyone roughly start to do BLW?

NorthernChinchilla · 08/03/2012 20:15

Sounds like people have had good days then! I always think an eyebrow shape is the best mini-treat going DSM, it makes a big difference for a small amount of money and time.
Re. BLW, I'll stick to the 6 month guideline, but not rigidly. If he's ready (they've got a good page on weaning on MN, which gives the 'when baby is ready' indications) at 5.5, I may start then; if he's still not sitting up I won't bother!

If she's content air, that's the main thing, and a gain is still a gain, even if it's a small one. Do see your GP to put your mind at rest though, if you think it will help.

Packing and then the trip to Devon tomorrow, deepest joy. Actually, long car journeys are a chance to nap... You'll have probably moved onto the new thread by the time I'm back, I'll have to hunt you out!

Figgygal · 08/03/2012 20:18

Dsm I've Been told absolutely no weaning until 17 weeks as they've recognised my 15 lb monster at 10 weeks will stand no chance of waiting 6 months for food. Must confess even that seems a long way off he's taking 7oz every 2.5hrs so up to 7 feeds a day and he finishes them all 99% of the time. Hes still following the 91st centile he started on so am told not to worry but I think he looks too chubby.

mopsytop · 08/03/2012 21:21

Haha loving the 'There's something about mopsy' ... If only I looked like Cameron Diaz!!! Got some great boots in Jones on my way back from the dentist for £40 reduced from £135! I love a bargain and they're lovely and I needed and was looking for new boors anyway and never expected to get any so cheap, esp not such great quality, so I don't even have the post shipping guilt-woohoo! Also dentist couldn't find anything so said just do nothing. If I keep getting pain to cone back but probably sinus related. Double yay! On the negative side minimopsy has been crying all day since lunch. My mum and sus were visiting and she was like an angel all day all the time they were here (not so much at night while they were back in hotel), they left at midday today, cue her crying for hours. They'll never believe I don't have an angel baby now :) ah but she is an angel most of the time! Again though, hats off to mums with babies who cry for hours every day. Must be so so so hard. I find one or two days of it hard.

Coolhand · 08/03/2012 21:50

Northern have a good weekend and hope you're feeling better soon!

DSM really glad to see things have been better since I was last on.

Picking up on yesterday's chat, we're also hoping to move house, sooner rather than later. We sold our house v quickly but didn't find the right house in time before lo arrived so moved into rented for 6 months. We have made an offer on a house and are just waiting to hear back at the moment - I have the house half decorated in my head already but not confident we'll get it!

hawthers · 08/03/2012 23:24

Well a little bit if success over here. after yesterdays failure at terrify ds to ho down at 7/8, decided to give the expressed milk and formula at that time. Ds polished it off then I put him down in the Moses basket with minimal soothing or hope that it would work. 3 hours later I've just woken him for the 11 o'clock feed.

Am rather stunned. First time I've had an evening to myself in 10 weeks. His knows what it means for the rest of the night... Ds seems to be a good sleeper which is great but totally annoying as I have to keep waking him up.god only knows how long he would go if I just let him. Won't be finding out any time soon Sad

aethelfleda · 09/03/2012 01:55

hawthers, as the reason you're giving 3 hr feeds plus formula topups is purely for weigjt gain and not because baby has a strict medical need,, couldn't you give a slightly larger bottle at 11pm and then leave him for a bit longer (say 4 or 5 hours) just as a one off to see how long he goes? I suggest this as a mum and not a medic, but if he does go a little longer you'll get the benefit of sleep and a few nights a week like that would recharge you a little...
