ponyo I got my free tickets today,we are going for my birthday in october

reastie · 21/02/2012 18:42

Loving all this sewing type talk Grin and Envy to american going on a quilting course. I had a friend who went on one and said it was fab. Well, I'm currently working on an embroidery project that has been on the go for a few years Blush but I'm getting close to finishing it soon and then can have it framed Grin [proud]

blizy hope the head is OK and you sleep well tonight, was thinking about you today. x

ledkr I'm the same with my job, trying to grin and bear it Confused

Speaking of work, thank you all for your congratulations Grin Blush Grin . Gosh today was a shocker of a day though. Firstly MIL turned up 20 minutes early to look after Alice. I know this isn't important but I had made a thing of asking she didn't come too early so I could have as much time with Alice as possible. I realise to everyday folk on here it will seem like I'm fussing over nothing though Blush , anyway, so had that annoyance, then had a staff meeting as turns out the inspection in general was rubbish Shock and we are being inspected again in a couple of weeks (it's not ofsted ems , a private thing) and there is now alot of pressure on everyone and we've been given unimaginable extra things to do on a regular basis which will impact greatly on my daily workload Sad . Then I had the rubbish of all lessons with the most awful y7's I think I've ever had (new class). Then I was asked, out of the goodness of my heart, to make an infinite amount of homemade biscuits for the school open day in a week, to which I declined (I don't even have time to cook my own dinner Hmm ) and I now have to organise a school activity day in the summer (and the staff were looking at me all Hmm when I said I couldn't come in when I don't usually teach as I can't get anyone to look after alice so I'd only be able to do my usual hours. And it's parents evening on my day off this week again. And it's open morning next saturday which of course I have to go to so that's a saturday gone too. And I've nearly lost my voice as I've still got a coldy thing not helped by talking loudly all day. there, I feel a bit better now Blush . So as you can see, work is not getting any better or easier or enjoyable [sigh]

On the plus side - I have a genius child - I asked Alice earlier to give Mummy the duck and she went straight over to her toys of the other side of the room and bought over her duck for me Grin [proud] . Oh, and she's so cute - she keeps walking around the house actually squealing and giggling to herself for being so clever as to walk Grin

ILovePonyo · 21/02/2012 21:04

Whos going ledkr - you, dh, Dils and Ella? Should be good!

reastie sorry to hear about work but good for you saying no to making biscuits. I am v impressed with clever A - Anya isn't walking yet and deffo wouldn't know what a duck is Grin

Am watching the brit awards Hmm Oh and have finally run out of formula so A is officially on cows milk - so nice not having to make bottles in the evening anymore Grin

wigglesrock · 21/02/2012 21:30

My Mum and Dad are taking S&O next year Grin

reastie poo about work, but well done on saying No to the biscuits

My don't some MNetters take pancakes very seriously, I'm officially in hiding for professing my love for the shake and pour mix Blush Grin

OP posts:
reastie · 21/02/2012 21:32

ponyo I'm watching them too I must be bored . Hope A enjoys the cows milk, and Grin to all that time you save

ledkr Envy of free tickets - is there some kind of catch? [suspicious]

Well, I've uploaded a couple of new piccies to my profile, and forgot to add that my genius child did a poo in a potty yesterday [oddly proud] . We put a potty in the bathroom when she has pre bath naked time with no pressure but get very excited with her if she sits on it as recommended in the mn toddlers book

Tarlia · 21/02/2012 21:45

Waves to all.

reastie wow A really is a smarty! what a good girl she is. Sorry to hear work is not good, how many days are you there?

Ponyo Glad to hear he is fully recovered. Denmark :)

Blizy Thinking of you still. How are you today? I can't believe your charge! What did uncle say?

I'm impressed with all of the crafty projects going on - the best I have done lately has been to make felt finger puppets..not challenging.

Pancakes, yum! We (well not Z) had them for dinner, has to be done, its the only day its officially allowed.

I can't remember what else was said...

debka · 21/02/2012 21:49

reastie Imy didn't do anything on thle potty till she was 2.5 and S pooed in the bath tonight which totally freaked Imy out! Am mega impressed with A pooing on the potty!

wiggles I made pancakes this morning which neither girl ate, I honestly wish I'd got the buggers out of a packet.

Off to bed now

BTW if anyone catches me eating, snatch it out of my hands, I gained 1.5lb this week Blush

blizy · 21/02/2012 21:50

Wiggles - we dont expect anything less!

Reastie- sorry you had a rubbish day. Hope tomorrow is better. Grin at Alice.

I'm watching the Brits too, super excited for blur's performance- love them! I am all pancaked out, made and ate loads todayBlush we don't make the crepe like ones here, ours are what you call scotch pancakes or drop scones (to me they are just pancakes)Grin. I caught my migraine in time with my tablets thank goodness.

I feel strangely sad watching the Brits this year, last year I was laying in bed with my Zoe bump feeling nervous about my sweep with the midwife the next day, if only it worked- sigh.Sad

blizy · 21/02/2012 21:52

Ohh cross post, never mind Debka- there is always next week.

Hi tarliaGrin

Ohh blur are on GrinGrinGrinGrin

Tarlia · 21/02/2012 21:59

Sending you hugs blizy

americanexpat · 22/02/2012 08:23

blizy - Sad Massive hugs.

reastie - don't be Envy, surely there's a local quilting shop that does classes? If I can find one here, there's certainly one in your posh bit of England. Grin And well done to Alice on the potty, now I'm wondering if we should get a potty too. Also well done to you for saying no to the extra work.

debka - The gain is just a blip, you'll be back at it next week.

Emski - Love Noah's toy washing machine. Was he the one that liked to play with the washing machine? I was tempted to get L a toy mop so he can help with the housework. Grin

I've eaten my breakfast and don't feel sick yet, maybe I've finally turned a corner. [hopeful]

Four4me · 22/02/2012 09:47

Hope you are feeling alright today blizy ?

Glad you are feeling better American

Step away from the naughty food debka

Wow to the brilliant Alicereastie what a star.

We all ate lots of yummy pancakes for pudding last night. We had a selection of choc sauce, fresh oj, strawb sauce, squirty cream, bananas and strawberries. Felt slightly ill after!!!! Grin
Bad night with my lovely Imogen, she has quite a lot of spots now and in the night she had a roaring temp and said that the spots hurt. Dosed her up with piriton and calpol and she nodded off. She is tired and clingy today, I should have lovely toned arms carrying a (chunky) two and (wriggly) one year old around everywhere I go!!! Hopefully back to normal soon........

ledkr · 22/02/2012 10:07

44 dills likes to be carted about too,has apaddy if we put her down esp after 4pm when she is tired. We had another 5.20 wake this am,its defo related to lack of day naps as she had none yesterday.

reastie I had to organise a sodding family day when pg,it made me bleed,i was fuming. We have a few things coming up which are out of normal working hours,im only doing them if dh is around though.

blizy Keep putting one foot in front of the other and breathe in and out, before you know it you will be out the other side xxxx

ponyo Yes me and dh and girls. The only catch reastie is that we will prob want to go for more days so will end up buying more tickets but tis stil a good deal.Going to stay at the explorer as Ella loved it and lots for families to do.

I got in last night and the house was a total mess but kids were fed and dinner made for us. Dh went off to the gym and i put Dils to bed but left all the clearing up,i though why should i do it,hes had all day. He did it all in the end but was still slaving away at 9pm the twerp.

debshame about the gain but back on the wagon for you my girl. Ive been doing ok for 2 days-big wow haha,im doing moroccon lamb later nom nom.

reastie · 22/02/2012 12:57

deb so you are human then Wink . It's just a teeny tiny gain so don't worry too much. step away from the chocolate though Wink Wink

ledkr yes I remember that family thing you organised now you mention it. I am so fuming at work now - I have to go in to parents evening tomorrow even though I have no appointments with any parents so should any parent sashay past and wish to grace me with their presence I am ready and waiting. AIBU to be Shock ? It's my day off, I only work part time, surely a 'if you wish to speak to me I will ring or arrange a meeting' would be fine as I have no appointments and have just finished with my y8 class and await the next group, so don't actually currently teach a group at the minute. I honestly am starting to hate my job, which I feel so sad about as I used to love it so much.

Love this pancake chat. four4 your house sounds delish Grin and Envy to your arms of steel

american Grin to living in the posh bit. I may have to have a look but I don't know if I ever have time to do a class.

Emski76 · 22/02/2012 12:58

Reastie, sorry about bad day at work yesterday, but well done to Alice the genius.

Expat, yes Noah loves my washing machine. Mil couldn;t believe it when I asked for one for his birthday. He was playing with it with Ben yesterday evening, putting his socks in and taking them out again.

The Rainbows had pancakes last night with a mixture of cheese, chocolate, sweet sprinkles, and many other strange things, most of them took one bite then threw the rest away! We had our pancakes a day early as Tuesdays are hectic for us.

Four4, sorry about poor Imogen with her nasty chickenpox. Poor thing, and poor you.

Dh is working lates into nights the rest of the week, he has a project on the go that means he has to do stupid hours. Only good thing is that I can the TV remote to myself!

Better go, nightmare Inland Revenue queries coming out of my ears.

k2togm1 · 22/02/2012 13:58

We've had the pancakes today, amid arguments though, gosh it seems we do nothing but argue at the k2tog house.

Wow A is a genius! I thought it was too early to get a potty, but will get one now!

I am also Envy at the quilting course, everytime I've tried it's a disaster, but don't have the time or the money Sad

ledkr · 22/02/2012 13:59

Is anyone there?I am currently sat listening to D cry in her cot.I simply cannot go on like this anymore. It took me hours to get her to nap in the buggy this am and this avo she is beside herself with tiredness but will noty sleep no matter what i do.She is too tired to play or even crawl and is just crying and crying so i thought she may as well be in her cot. She sleeps fine at night. I have tried rocking her for ages, singing to her, wrapping her up,2 bottles,i just dont know what else to do.I couldnt care less if she sleeps or not but she cant just cry all day cos she is tired can she?

ILovePonyo · 22/02/2012 14:39

ledkr thats so tough - you've tried everything I would have suggested too! Drive in the car (if you have it) maybe? Its so frustrating, A is the same although not as bad as Dilly by the sounds of things!

knitta sorry to hear about arguments. I have said before that I am a moany whingebag with dp at the moment, everything he does is annoying.

emski we had pancakes with melted choc and raspberries, A just sucked the choc off and threw the soggy panckae on the floor Hmm

american hope your breakfast hasn't made another appearance Grin

Four4 hope poor imgoen is going to sleep better tonight, feel for you.

Hope D is asleep now ledkr!

Four4me · 22/02/2012 14:47

Has she dropped off ledkr ? Does she sleep on her front? I used to 'help' Thomas get to sleep by putting him down on his front all wrapped up warm and pat (firmly) his bottom starting off quite quickly and as he settled slowed down and gradually got less firm, until he fell asleep. Hope you are ok?

ledkr · 22/02/2012 18:52

Thanks girls.I left her for ages but then got her up and she fell asleep on me instantly. Slept for an hour. The difference in her is amazing. We took Ella dancing and D was cheery and is now playing with dh before her bath and bed.
Isnt it funny how she will settle herself from wide awake at night but not in the day.
Have just made my sis a lasagne to take over tomorrow. Her dp didnt get any time off its shocking. I dont know how hes coping teaching a class of yr 5's after such a life changing event.
Ive made a morocon lamb for me and dh.Its my own recipe but is free on sw if anyone wants it.
Ive also frozen some curly wurlys for chomping on at 5 syns each.
I took Ella to get new boots in new look and they were 15 quid then went down to 5 at the till. What is it with me and boots?

Emski76 · 22/02/2012 19:33

Ledkr, can I have the Moroccan lamb recipe? Am so off the SW wagon, fish and pie last night and pizza tonight! I have lost my mojo!
Sorry about D not napping well. I have to agree with good naps equal good sleep tho.
Exciting that your off to EuroDisney again later this year. We're going in May, staying in the Dream Castle hotel, dh and I stayed there for our honeymoon!

Talking of bargains, mil got me a gorgeous green mini skirt for £1 from Primark this week, it's lovely, if a little short. Think people in work got a bit too much leg yesterday!

Knittakid, I think we're all arguing with dh's at the moment. Babies bring alot more stress to relationships.

Big news, Noah walked holding my hand earlier, then held Bens hand and walked a bit too. We clapped him and he looked so happy with himself!

I'm off to wait for my pizza delivery, yum, yummity, yum

wigglesrock · 22/02/2012 20:56

ledkr how is your evening going?

emski that's lovely re the handholding, I think we need to invent an awww smiley Grin

RobinSparkles if you're lurking Happy Birthday Lottie!!

Ponyo A take to the whole milk ok?

Anna got her thumb caught in the bathroom door this afternoon, Olivia was in the loo and she kept trying to close the door wondering why it wouldn't close Shock Mr W was with them and frightened Olivia by shouting at her to open the door. No lasting damage done, but Mr W got hysterical and annoyed the tits off me - thank Christ he's back to work next week. Not sure the "perfect" Wiggle world can survive if he's at home for more than 3 days at a time Shock

OP posts:
ledkr · 22/02/2012 21:06

Ah wiggs Poor Anna. Id have been the one panicking i think.I remember dh wound up the window on Els finger on the way to the airport i was hysterical, we nearly didnt go on holiday cos i was too cross with dh.

ems how can slimming world and mini skirt be in the same paragraph? You seriously cant need to lose weight if you are wearing minis to work.
One of the outfits i want to get into is my black linen skirt with lush black jumper,i used to feel great wearing it.

I had my dinner dh is revising standing in the doorway watching tv and Ells is off to bed.We are going to watch the walking dead then off to beddy byes praying for a 6 not 5am wake up.

debka · 22/02/2012 21:18

ems I agree with ledkr, unless it was enormous flabby width of leg Wink (don't imagine for a moment it was).

ledkr it's a feisty little girlie you've got there, she knows how to play her Mama doesn't she Wink. Really felt for you today, it's awful when they won't sleep. Hope you get a lie in tomorrow. Well done on sw, I've got my motivation back and have been brilliant today, had a run this pm too . I'd love that recipe too :)

wiggles poor little Anna, hope she was ok. I am mean when they hurt themselves, I always laugh Blush, I was cleaning the windows today stealth boast and the girls were helping Hmm, S's hand slipped on the minute little piece of tissue she was wiping with, she then head butted the glass and rebounded onto her bum. Grin

reastie so sorry work is shitty, do you think it may get easier as Alice gets older?

Bean's got her 12mo jabs tomorrow, :( poor baby, she's going to love me :(

reastie · 22/02/2012 21:33

Just a quick wave as off to bed. I typed a post to ledkr earlier but then Alice moaned so much it got deleted somehow Angry

ems I agree - if you're wearing a mini, there is no need to lose weight Wink

ledkr glad dilly is in bed and you get to watch waking the dead. Is it v good btw? I looked it up on amazon at the week end and was debating buying it but not sure if I'd like a zombieish thing

deb good luck bean with the jabs. We've had no note about them yet. Actually, DH and I are trying to decide whether to pay to get Alice a chicken pox vaccine too Hmm . Work is rubbish and I started a thread on education re: my parents evening annoyance and pretty much everyone things the school/my line manager ABU making me go in tomorrow evening when I have no one to see, so I sort of feel better that I'm just but worse that I have to go in Confused

wiggles Shock to annas finger. Also, I love stories that highlight MrW isn't quite as perfect as we think he is. I was imagining when you and blizy met up earlier and how if ever I met you and the wiggles clan (although sadly not sure we'd ever manage that) I would just have to call MrWs 'Mr Wiggles' as he has no other name to me Grin . What can I say, I get bored driving and have to keep my mind occupied somehow Blush

delia have you found a dress for your VIP occasion?
