blizy · 03/04/2012 09:40

44me- you know Joey will be fine with his dad and he will have a ball. I can understand why you are sad with A's boob refusal. I hope the day gets better for you.

American- I am in between Cumbernauld and Glasgow, chances are you drove past where I live on the new motorway?

Hope you all have a good day, baby is sleeping an I'm drinking coffee. Grin

reastie · 03/04/2012 09:49

four4 Sad to Archies boob refusal. I'd feel the same as you. Maybe it's part hormones but also sadness at no more babies? Btw - it's a shame you don't live nearer as I need an antique chair reupholstered - your DH may have been able to do it for me for mates rates Grin

Well, I thought it was going to be raining and freezing today but it's lovely out - just taken Alice for a walk to get her to sleep. So far no sick and she seems perkier but still off food more than usual and I'm not counting my chickens as I've been here before and she's got worse again. Am missing my last ever baby sensory today - think I'm more upset than alice Confused

ledkr campervan looks great - we will insist on piccies of you all in it once it's all pimped up

american woohooo to the size 10 dress. I didn't know boden were generous on their sizes though. You realise you've made me sigh in misery now! I looked in my wardrobe at all my prepreg clothes yesterday - I actually have a really nice wardrobe of clothes which don't fit . It has spurred me on to somehow squeeze in some exercise in my day. May try the shred if I dare

Right, have to clean Hmm

debka · 03/04/2012 10:22

Yep reastie, just hung my washing out and dragged S in from the sandpit for her nap! The girls are outside all the time at the moment, the snow/rain will be a terrible shock! Fingers firmly crossed that A is on the mend at last.

44me hormones I'll bet. Bet Joey has a brilliant time. And A will have to stop bfing at some point :( , try and think of the good things? PS lucky bugger with no periods Envy

Speaking of which I went to see the nurse last week because I have bled every fecking day with this fecking implant. It's been nearly 4 months now. She said I can either wait and see, take some other pill (but that's not simple), or take it out and she was steering me towards the Mirena Coil. What are your views on the Mirena, peeps? You had one didn't you reastie, I know you had trouble with it , did you have it taken out? I can't remember...

wiggles you're RIGHT, a 16 IS only 2 sizes away, flipping heck, that's amazing!! Hadn't thought of it that way! Feckin' ride eh? Hmm Grin you sound like wotsherface who does the Irish chick lit Grin

ledkr · 03/04/2012 10:24

four4 If it helps i am the same about hanging onto the baby.I didnt even like her being referred to a a toddler the other day, she's a baby fgs Grin

The thing is i thought Ella was my last so ive been through it twice and once you get your head around it it's ok really.I just started to enjoy all the other stages and milestones and it was ok.

Mine all self weaned from the breast,it mkes you wonder how all the extended bf's manage to feed them till they are 9 Shock

reastieI also hate my pre pg clothes not fitting.I actually put them into vaccum bags yesterday which was abit Sad I am still losing very slowly and the easter hols wont help although i did tell pils not to get me any chocolate like last year (about 5 eggs) I know i need to exercise too but when your day starts at 5.30 its a little difficult. I should do the shred early in the morning in fact thats what i am going to do

Ella has her dress rehearsal today,we are off to the charity shop to find some "old trousers" Me and Ella curled our lips at this,we dont actually do old clothes in our house Grin

ledkr · 03/04/2012 10:27

deb I have twice reminded you of the closeness to the size 16 and you choose to give wiggles all the credit Angry You ungratefull beeeeeatch Grin

debka · 03/04/2012 10:30

Sorry ledkr

the bed in your camper is MASSIVE, is it for sharing with pils as well? Grin

blizy · 03/04/2012 10:33

I well Envy of your nice weather, it's blowing a hoolie here and has been snowing since 7 am. Angry

ledkr · 03/04/2012 10:49

Yep deb i would love to sleep next to weasley fil obsessing about his breakfast.
btw we bought some well minging sawdust museli from asda its vile,i said to dh that fil can "knock himself out" with his massive breakfast at the weekend. They are already annoying me tbh and they arent even here yet Grin
blizy its coldish here too but bright and dry.

debka · 03/04/2012 10:51

I'm seeing mine this week too, ledkr, keep getting flashbacks from last time...

americanexpat · 03/04/2012 11:04

reastie - I have no idea if Boden are generous or not, just wanted to be clear that any suggestion they are is very unwelcome. Grin

blizy - weather is the same here, the snow is really wet and heavy. My trousers were soaked when I got in to work.

44me - I felt rejected too when L weaned himself. Sad I'm sure J will be fine, tbh I feel the same way about L sometimes when DH takes him out and they're gone a bit longer than I expected.

I think I've caught L's cold, perfect timing for our holiday coming up. Angry

reastie · 03/04/2012 11:33

Can I secretly admit that in a way I'd like Alice to self wean from bfing. I love doing it etc etc but I've given myself to bf her till she's 2 unless she self weans (as it's the who recommendation). I think when I stop I will find losing weight easier. I have been absolutely ravenous this morning after all the extra bfs I've done in the past few days and eaten too much Blush . Was watching a really interesting docu called 'the truth about fat' the other week.

american how annoying re: cold, always the way isn't it

ledkr just don't make your campervan toooooo nice - if you stick pil in there they may want to keep coming all the time. btw, as it has a kitchen can they not do all their own food and meals when they come too?!

blizy hope the weather not too bad for too long

deb re: coil. I don't have a mirena i have a copper coil meaning i have periods still and lots of it too . nedto had a mirena but she had hers removed as had probs with it. i think the thing with the mirena is if it suits you it is absolutely marvellous and the best thing ever, but some people do get side effects i think a bit like the pill side effects so it doesn't work for everyone. might be worth a go though. I have to admit it wasn't nice having it in, but it didn't take too long and mine was harder to get in as i had a csection so not as ahem stretched in the ladybit area as you . if you've got any other qs about the actual having it in etc let me know, but i read alot of interesting threads on the mirena on mn a while ago i think in family planning

Emski76 · 03/04/2012 12:36

Led, I would be honoured to have a cuppa in your campervan. its look fabby, by the way!!

Thanx for good luck wishes with Ben's school.

Four4, tooth not good, have permenant crown going in on Thursday, but temp fell out on Friday for the second time! Can't wait for it all to be over. I am not a fan of the dentist and was concerned when I went for my fillings as when I sat in the chair the dentist was humming the theme to Postman Pat!! Didn't give me much confidencein him!!
Joey will have a fab time with his dad. I expect you are feeling upset at Archie not feeding as he is your last. Noah is my last and am definitely clinging to him more.

I can't remember who said about their little one being clingy, but Noah cried as soon as mil arrived this morning, I felt shitty leaving him. Really wish I didn't have to work as really miss both my babies at the moment. Am struggling a bit with anxiety again too, don;t know why. Last two days I've really struggled to get into work and have felt like I'm going to have a panic attack.

Reastie, it sounds like Alice may be starting to turn a corner with her illness, i hope so.

Right my jacket tater and beans are calling me, best go x

wigglesrock · 03/04/2012 13:12

american Actually I heard Boden were really small fitting Wink

emski strangely I had a bit of a wobble re anxiety last week, think it may have been the panic over schools and a general Christ I hate my job thing but wasn't pleasant, so am keeping a wee eye on myself xx

Four4Me sending many hugs, I know I feel more weepy with Anna getting bigger, maybe because I'm so sure she's our last? See you soon Grin

debka I was brought up with boys who thought asking a girl out consisted of the phrase "my mate thinks you're a ride, will you see him?" Grin It was charm personified Grin

Off to collect Olivia in the bloody sleet Shock

OP posts:
wigglesrock · 03/04/2012 14:26

american ps how's your Dad?

OP posts:
Four4me · 03/04/2012 14:44

Thanks so much for your support. Always thought I'd be happy to stop when ever he was, but clearly not as easy as I expected. I stopped the others myself at different stages for various reasons mainly work and bloody evil mastitis. Have been for lunch at my lovely friends house. We put a DVD on for her two girls, Thomas and Imogen. Archie slept in the buggy and we had a good chat. Feel lots better. Onwards and upwards Grin spoken to dh and Joey, they are having a whale of a time.
The weather is awful here, absolutely pouring down. No snow yet though.

blizy how much of the white stuff now?

Have no personal experience of the coil deb but most of my friends have one!!! I'd say that most of them like it, a couple have had to have it removed and had new ones due to problems ie pain and discomfort. I have just kept having babies to avoid contraception issues and my af Grin

So glad that Alice is heading for back to normal, horrid when they are poorly !

Hope that Ella's dress rehearsal goes well ledkr , when does Dilly next see the ent team re grommets?

Waiting for school placements is awful and you feel so helpless, so totally understand em and wiggles hope that the moments of anxiety are just because of that.

tad hope you are ok? Feel so silly being upset today considering what your cousin is currently going through Sad

ledkr · 03/04/2012 15:52

I hate the school thing. We used to just put their name down asap and get the place.I think in these days of fat kids and poor vs crap school that you should just get the nearest school to your house thus being able to walk them in and the schools would be more diverse and less likely to become "exclusive" iyswim?
I live in an area with a very popular secondary school, its very small and parents will do anything to get their kids in.lie about where they live, move house etc.Its a stones throw for me as i spent a lot of money on my house which was derilict and took ages to do up.Id be well p'd off if Ella couldnt go to it cos someone from miles away had muscled in.
this year they have changed the criteria so its lac, sibs, staff and then distance Hmm there are only 200 places per year so its a real possibilty Els wont be going and will have to take 2 buses Shock

Was that a rant? haha

Well guys quick question.Dh has made a mistake and is working till midnight on Sat.I have told him i am not entertaining pil all day and night when im up and down to the theatre.Half of me thinks it will be ok cos they can have dills but the other half feels sick at the thought of hours of formal chit chat.

ledkr · 03/04/2012 15:54

sorry four4 I am waiting for an appointment. With a cleft they see a whole team of people from salt to ent to plastics and dentists, its pretty amazing really.

tadjennyp · 03/04/2012 19:03

Thanks four4, we're doing ok really. I haven't spoken to my cousins since the funeral. I had a wobble when putting away some of Sammy's too small clothes the other day, which I had been saving for Gage, so I don't want to try and imagine how devastated she is feeling. It's perfectly understandable you worrying about Joey and I am sure he is having a wonderful time. I'm weaning Sammy this week too, mainly because it got more sore when I dropped to two feeds. I'm doing mornings only now and tbh he doesn't seem to miss it. Sad Definitely something to do with him being the last baby, I'm sure.

Debka, I have the mirena. It's been in a year now. I was reasonably happy with it, except I went through a stage of feeling murderous for quite a while. ( I shocked myself with quite how angry about trivial things I felt). Obviously I don't know whether the two are connected. I had the lightest periods with it too, except for this morning, where I suddenly started bleeding v heavily again, with large blood clots. I also can't find the strings (tmi, sorry). Have made an appt with the gynae for Monday so will let you know the outcome.

So sorry about the tooth Emski, hope the new crown sorts it all out for you.

Fingers x'd for everyone awaiting school places. Hope you all get your first choices.

Well done on the size 10 expat - that's size 6-8 here, right? Wink

Can your dh not swap shifts ledkr? I would just go to bed as normal, if I were you? If they have no social graces now, they're not going to appear overnight. Hope the weekend just flies by for you.

Where are you going on holiday expat? Hope L and you get rid of your cold pronto.

Got to pick the baby up who's crawling round the kitchen floor on his belly.

MizK · 03/04/2012 20:07

Ello darlings. Easter hols, day 2. have broken no chocolate Lenten promise, and am about to have a glass of Merlot. Its tough chez K I'll tell ya :)
Emski Good luck at dentists you brave lady! You'll be grand x
tad oh it is sad thinking of you putting away clothes for Gage, God my heart breaks for anyone going through what his mum must be feeling x hope gyn visit goes well, must be a worry.
reastie glad that Alice seems to be on the mend. I really agree that all those vacs in one go can utterly knock them for six, Cass was so off after hers that I felt a bit mean letting her have them all at once.
expat you skinny thing, go you!
ledkr rather than to and fro from the theatre, cant you pretend you and Ella have to be there all day and let them Dilly-sit? I'm sure a peaceful lunch with a magazine would be preferable to awkward small talk with food obsessed PILs :) I become all bright and head girl ish around my PILs, utterly false but can't help it?
four4 sorry you are having a rough time, big hand squeeze and sympathy x
deb good luck with your PILs also, if they dont notice your weight loss they are eejits.
blizy eek to weather, where did Spring go?
wiggles is your job really getting to you at the min? Fingers x'd for school place also.
hello to everyone else, sorry if I forgot people, have half an eye on dinner cooking!

Deliaskis · 03/04/2012 21:33

Evening ladies, just popped on for a quick hello.

Glad to hear A on the mend reastie
Grrr Ledkr re PILs again, I don't envy you this houseguests for the weekend thing.
Deb congrats on amazing weight loss, you have put me to shame. I have been ordering lunch from the people who deliver to work, and they do this amazing broccoli & stilton soup, which is basically just a vat of melted cheese, so I kid myself I'm having healthy broccoli when really it's just a massive cheeeeeeeeeese fest.
wiggles v late response but Envy of MrW going to West Wing land, I would be swooning all over the place at the sight of the OEOB.
everyone else helllooooo [waves].

Things good here, C doing lots of new stuff which is all fun, now walking everywhere on her own and being Miss Independent (and a litle of Miss Attitude too), it's funny to see. She won't hold hands walking upstairs, and now doesn't want to go on her hands and knees, so it's very hard work for her and also pretty dicey. Stairgates arriving tomorrow.

Dh had her on the trailer bike on Sunday, it was funny, she has her own little handle bars and foot pedals (that don't go round), she looked so tiny.

Can't put off injections any longer, I missed two clinics the last couple of weeks because we were away and then she was ill, and now she's better, I suppose she has to have them, but I feel so sorry for her as she's only been better for a week. Got to have them tho.

Trying to book a holiday but finding it all rather complicated, wanted to do a Eurocamp style thing thinking it would be very simple but it's anything but. Will have to make a better effort tomorrow.

Hope all the babies are sleeping.

D

ILovePonyo · 03/04/2012 21:45

Evening ladies,

Well I am tired, who would have thought that work could be so challenging and busy Shock

Four4 aah sorry about sad morning, glad you have spoken to 'the boys' and they're ok, bet they are having a brill time! My friend stopped bf-ing her 15month old ds recently, it seemed like it was more his decision than hers too, she was pleased to have stopped but sad too, understandable.

ledkr hows the shoulder? Mines bloody killing me, am going to go docs Thurs I think. Am fed up of having to either be in pain or necking ibuprofen all the time. Grin at rank museli for fil, thats funny. My pil have not invited themselves up for a while, I think its b'cos of the row mil and dp had when she said she dreads coming here, I think they think that dp hasn't invited them on purpose but really its just not crossed his mind.

MizK I had a mini eggs easter egg today piggy How are your older 2 doing during the hols so far?!

tadj oh :( at small baby clothes, that made my heart lurch a bit. Hope the weaning goes ok for you?

wiggles (and everyone else) gah at school stress, its such a big deal isn't it, I am dreading it but its years away isn't it...

emski sorry but Grin at the humming dentist, ha! A is definitely being clingy at the moment, its fine if she lets me hold her but usually she wants to be picked up, then squirms to get down, the cries when I put her down, etc Hmm Hope the anxiety calms itself down soon, its horrible when they cry when you leave them but I'm sure he was fine as soon as you'd gone (in the nicest way possible!)

Hi reastie, blizy american and everyone else

Oh and has anyone seen the thread on hairclips on a 1 year old?! It was a one year old boy Hmm but still, I think it is a mn judgy thing, well A has a clip in her hair most days now Grin judge away!

RobinSparkles · 03/04/2012 21:47

Heeey!

I have spent four hours at soft play today! I'm trying to fill up the Easter holidays with activities for Isabel. It was quite nice actually. The girls ran themselves ragged while I sat and chatted with my mates. We sat in the toddler bit and L loved playing with Isabel and her friends. She was crawling after them like a loon!

MizK, I broke my "no chocolate before Easter" ages ago! I knew I wouldn't be able to do it!

Reastie, hope Alice is feeling better, poor thing! It's a date re cinema - what time are you picking me up? Are we meeting Mr. W there or are you picking him up too? How is Needto? Tell her I said hi!

Expat, good for you with the dress! I bet you look fab!

Ledkr, nice camper! When are you going Glamping? Wink Damn about having to entertain ILS. DH has informed methat mine are coming for their tea on Thursday and I'm cooking! Shock thanks H!

Four4, sorry you're feeling bad about A self weaning but on the bright side - look how far you did get! You should be really proud of yourself! Look at what you've given him. :)

Blizy, snow?!? Brr! It's been bloody cold here but not snow kind of cold. Hope we don't get any, I'm ready for a bit of sun!

Tad, it's heartbreaking thinking of you putting those clothes away for Gage. I can't imagine what your cousin must be going through :(

Wiggles, fingers crossed for school!

ILovePonyo · 03/04/2012 21:48

Hi delia ooh I wonder if C will do what A does with the stairgates - stand at the clinging on and crying until we open them Hmm Let me know how you get on with the holiday, sounds good, I'd fancy that myself.

deb meant to say re: mattress on floor for A to see if she sleeps longer (you asked ages ago) the only prob is that the door in her room opens inwards, so if she fell asleep by door or started crying at it trying to get out we couldn't get in to her iyswim? Am staying at my mums again this Fri so will try the pop up tent experiment again to see...

Deliaskis · 03/04/2012 21:50

Ponyo definitely mn judgey thing re hairclip. C also has a clip in as she would go cross-eyed with her masses of hair in her eyes if she didn't, and I'm not having a fringe cut, as she would squirm and hate it, and I like her pretty hair, and she would hate having it cut, and on this, if on nothing else, I am going to be very baby-led Grin.

D

RobinSparkles · 03/04/2012 21:53

X posted Ponyo! L doesn't need clips in her hair yet as the front bit is still really short. It's getting thick and it's quite wavyish and long at the back, which is very different to how Isabel's hair was. Her hair was very fine and wispy and long at the front. By this age it was in her eyes so it was in a clip until she was about 2 and a half and was long enough/she would sit still long enough for me to tie it back, so no judging here! :o

I can't wait to start putting accessories in L's hair. The sparklier the better! Wink
