Deliaskis · 03/04/2012 21:53

Yes Ponyo I expect she will with the stairgates, she already does that at closed doors that she can't open (i.e. properly clicked shut, not just shut to), the clinging at the bars will lend a little more prison block style drama to proceedings I am sure.

ILovePonyo · 03/04/2012 21:55

Haha! So its not just A then, aw C and A are quite similar aren't they. I don't want A to have a fringe either, I 'd have to have it cut every week!

Robin Hiyaaaa, wow 4 hours at soft play, well done :) A's 3 year old friend came over yesterday and it was so cute, A just followed her around and sat near her looking very pleased, then laughed away at anything she her friend did/said. I work my arse to get her to laugh!

RobinSparkles · 03/04/2012 21:55

Oops, D! X posted with you too! Bless C on her little bike :)

ILovePonyo · 03/04/2012 21:57

Erm I don't work my arse, I work my arse off Blush

Yes to sparkly hair accessories, there is some right tat treats out there Grin

RobinSparkles · 03/04/2012 21:59

I need to admit now that Isabel has never had a professional hair cut in her life! I have trimmed it myself a few times. I didn't want her to have a fringe. My mum thought that I would because both DDs (strangely) have the same stork mark on their foreheads.

RobinSparkles · 03/04/2012 22:01

Ha ha! Ponyo, I read it the first time as "I work my arse off". I didn't realise until you corrected yourself. Now I'm laughing at the image of you wiggling your arse to get A to laugh :o or singing "I like big butts and I cannot lie..." like in Friends.

ILovePonyo · 03/04/2012 22:07

Hm maybe I could try some bum jiggling to get her to laugh, worth a go! I love that episde of friends, ha ha

Emski76 · 04/04/2012 06:47

Morning all,
Firstly, am loving the sparkly hair clips, hhmmmmm, might get some for Noah! Altho I have started using dh's beard trimmer to shave Noah's hair, he def looks better with a crew cut!

Darn I can't remember what everyone posted last night, but hope you all ok.

I popped across the road to see my friend last night. She has a ds the same age as Ben and had him thru IVF, they've just 'defrosted' their last embryo and it didn't do what it's supposed to. She found out last week and is devastated. We had wine and nibbles and a good chat but it was really hard to know what to say to help her.

americanexpat · 04/04/2012 09:34

wiggles - you're an absolute saint. Grin My dad is fine, wouldn't even know he had problems a month ago. I haven't asked how he's doing with quitting smoking because I know I'll end up nagging. He knows he needs to and it's up to him now.

ledkr - I agree with MizK, use them as babysitters since you'll be "busy" with Ella and have a nice afternoon to yourself. Are they drinkers? Throw a couple of bottles of wine at them and call it an evening. Grin

tad - :( Funny how these things catch you at odd moments, sometimes I think about Zoe (and now Gage) and feel really sad. Not much of a holiday, friends are visiting from the US. They have a wee boy the same age as L so it'll be chaos. Grin

Ponyo - not seen the hairclip thread but I think L would love hairclips. Grin One of my work colleagues was giving someone else in the office a hard time for having his son in a dance class where he's the only boy. If it was reversed and a girl in an all-boys class, no one would bat an eye. Hmm

Can't remember what anyone else so hello to everyone I missed. Grin

blizy · 04/04/2012 10:07

Morning girls.

Tad- how are you today? Silly question i know, but how is your cousin doing?
It is so hard packing away little clothes.Sad
We can't face packing away Zoe's things, we have covered her mattress, pram and car seat though to protect them from dust. Her wardrobe and drawers are still full of her little outfits. I like to look through them every so often.

Ponyo- I bet anya is super cute with her hair clip!

Wiggles- are you ok? You don't sound like your cheery self, is work getting you down?

Ledkr- yip, I agree with the girls. Get the pils to babysit and you go off and relax.

ledkr · 04/04/2012 11:42

Morning all! Well Dilly had 2 long naps yesterday and then slept till 6.45 so the Mumsnet rule of sleep begats sleep is true it would seem. She is doing my head in though, she seems to be in some sort of mood and is literally going from one thing to another touching anything she shouldnt be then booing when i stop her,ive just strapped her in the buggy for a break but now she is crying.
ems Awful situation for your friend, ivf is such a minefield. I cant believe Noahlets you cut his hair,D wouldnt.I have started to condition hers though as its curly and knotty.
dh has managed to change his shifts now so pil can go with him to Bugsy Sat pm and look after Dills whilst i go in the afternoon. That way i can have a peaceful Sat evening and be in bed before they get back Grin
I am doing an Easter roast on the Sunday with many others coming too so fil wont be liking to share his food im sure.
They never say thnks for a meal btw or comment on it being nice.I find that quite rude. Morons.
Well ill go and see the the infernal whinger now. What was i thinking fgs?
Does anyone ever look at themselves and wonder where they went? I see myself with grey spotty skin and bad hair and fat belly and think meh!

wigglesrock · 04/04/2012 12:14

blizy I'm fine, thanks, I think I'm just knackered Grin. Mr W has been ill since January Shock, although he's back to form now and him going away for the week. The girls are tired too, they don't have a Feb midterm as such so its been a long old Winter.

Work is just work, really, I'm doing different hours over Easter and Mr W was working all over the Easter weekend but has changed his hours so he's off the weekend but working all his days off this week, which works out better. I think I'm just feeling a bit sorry for myself - looking for problems whereb there are none. Thats a big fault of mine, sometimes I just wait on something collapsing intead of just realising that its not going too Grin I have ishoos with being happy Shock

Emski76 · 04/04/2012 13:00

Ah Wiggles, don't feel down, tho I have to admit that I'm def a glass half empty person, and am always waiting for something to go wrong. I know i shouldn't advocate this but EAT SOME CHOCCIE, works for me everytime!

Ledkr, glad dh has sorted his Saturday shift.

Blizy, Its nice that you've kept Zoe's room nice. Must be lovely (and very sad) to go through her clothes. You have been so brave through all of this. I quite often think of you and wonder how I would have coped. Your an inspiration girl!

Expat, glad your dad seems back to normal, bet your so relieved.

I've just had a gorgeous weight watchers meal, its frozen and is steamed in the microwave, it was salmon with veggies and rice, luvverly. They had them on cheap at Asda the other week.

reastie · 04/04/2012 14:16

american glad your Dad is OK

wiggles hope work sorts itself out and you are OK over there

ledkr glad you sorted out DHs work with PILs coming over. Looking forward to some goss this week end Grin

Re: hairclips. I have to admit pre Alice I was a bit Hmm at babies wearing hairclips/jewellery Blush . I wear alot of flower clips in my hair for work and the other day I put one in Alices hair and she looked really sweet might have to do it more regularly

Got Alice fitted for shoes this morning. STILL only size 3 so only cruisers again. What kind of size shoe are the other babies in now? ALso got her some wellies to take on hol with us Grin

Oh - am I being really thick. Went into town and in the car park they had disabled spaces and then a space which said 'MC'. I parked in it thinking it meant 'mother and child' and then once I'd paid, got buggy out etc someone said to me did I know I'd parked in a motorcycle place so I had to put buggy away, get alice back in car etc . Can't believe I was that stupid. AIBU to think a mototcycle space should be less ambiguous or am I really thick ?

Four4me · 04/04/2012 14:22

Great news about your dad expat hope he can kick the fags.

ledkr sound like you are getting the weekend sorted, hope the Bugsy performance goes well.

wiggles I hope you feel better when you get the school place info. And just think I'll be in Belfast soon!!! Eek.

blizy you are so amazing and honest. It must break your heart looking at all of Zoe's things. I remember getting out all the baby things i'd bought for baby when I was pregnant the first time. I felt so sad when I did get them out for Tom as I didn't feel like he was the same baby I was carrying iykwim. Completely different league I know. Hugs. X

em I'm sure your friend just appreciated you going around and being there for her.

Joey and dh are down on the south coast having a fab time. Heading home this afternoon. Archie still boob-phobic, am trying to Grin and not be Sad .
Am starting getting things ready to pack for the trip to Belfast.

Four4me · 04/04/2012 14:25

X post reastie Grin at mc parking!!!!!! You Wally. You should have just said 'yes I know, did you not know this is a motorbike?!'

MizK · 04/04/2012 15:28

wiggles well you do have lots on so its perfectly reasonable that you will feel a little blue now and again.
reastie Cass' first shoes were a 4 and a half, that was six weeks ago! And she has some lola slippers in size 5 which are a little snug :) BTW easy mistake to make re parking space I think!
blizy I can so understand keeping zoe's things nice. I can't imagine packing everything away, very sad x
four4 hope packing isn't too stressy, hope Belfast is lots of fun :)
emski hmm may have to try said WW meal - am on a WW break over Easter hols and can feel waistbands tightening already! 7 weeks til bikini time, waaa!
ponyo ignore MN snootiness, hairclips are adorbs. Esp with A's lovely thick hair!
ledkr good plan to have other people over too, will ease pressure on you to make conversation. My PILs are coming over for lunch on easter Sunday and they are such a chore. They don't really talk whilst eating just methodically demolish the food without a word of praise, which I also find rude. They get really edgy when pudding doesn't immediately follow, and always tell me about a wonderful meal SIL cooked for them. my cooking is actually pretty good, and i think it pains them to say so. at MILs we get veg steamed for about an hour, Bisto and overcooked meat, pudding courtesy of sainsburys frozen section and I gush about how wonderful everything is. Grrr! sorry for hijack but I'm so wondering how the actual fuck I am going to cope in a villa with them for ten days!
Hope everyone is having a nice day, the weather is horrific here with horizontal rain, yuck!

Four4me · 04/04/2012 15:57

MizK I am amazed that C has such big feet, Imogen is 2 and a half years and has only just gone into a 6. Actually maybe my children have tiny feet. This is what I am blaming on Archie being hopeless at standing unsupported and therefore being miles off walking. I think you are going to have to consume a fair amount of alcohol to cope with your pil on holiday. Just think about the tan you'll get. Hope all your dc's are enjoying the school holidays.

eggkr · 04/04/2012 17:06

Dilly's feet are a 2 Hmm She is dainty like me Confused and Grin

Mix k they sound just like my pil.Yes they always expect a desert too which we dont really have.I just buy ice cream.

Im a good cook too but they never say so.

Last Easter when we visited we arrived on the Friday and mil was cooking the tiniest veg lasagne i have ever seen,dh would have had the whole lot. When i saw it i though she must be doing salad and bread or chips with it but she then divided it between 5 and served it up.
We were starving and had to gorge on Easter eggs in bed later then replace them ready for Easter day Grin

reastie · 04/04/2012 18:08

Sorry, just had to say a massive Grin to eggkr

mizk I'm sure the holiday will be fine Hmm . You can just hide in your room all the time ranting and swearing if you need to Confused . Seriously, I hope think it'll be better than you think. DH and I went on holiday with my parents a few years back. OK, so it wasn't my PIL, but it worked well - we all shared a lovely French villa but had separate cars so did our own things as much as we wanted to.

Four4me · 04/04/2012 18:21

Arrr just got to share. Sat in playroom mning before taking T, Im and A for a bath. And Archie stood up in the middle of the room and took two steps!!!! He then sat on his bum and crawled off. Yeah I saw my babies first steps!!!! (unless he is little britian stylee doing it every time I leave the room) Grin

hubbard86 · 04/04/2012 18:32

Freya is only just in a 2 but is still very tiny. Still under 9kg. I wish Freya had hair to put lil clips in but she's still bald, someone asked me how old and when i said 13 months they looked very shocked and said they had thought she was about 7/8 months. We have a review next week with her health visitor as she was so lil at her 10th month check. I'm just worried they'll think I'm not feeding her, when she eats me out of house and home.

Reastie do you still have a touch of baby brain Grin

Toms post op check tomorrow and I've got to tell them its not worked so I don't know what the next step is

wigglesrock · 04/04/2012 19:28

Four4me Grin yay for Archie, see he's on his feet to run away from Anna who will no doubt try to eat him, give him a big squeeze!

MizK Annas feet were 4.5 when she was first measured, her feet have deffo got bigger lately, we are off to look at new shoes tomorrow. Just keep your alcohol level at a nice steady buzz and you'll be grand.

Febbers tut tut at all the cooking, that was your first big mistake Grin We are heading to my Mums for Easter, she's organised an easter egg treasure hunt for the girls. She has clues and the first letter of each answer spells out where the eggs are hidden or something like that. She's taking it veeerry seriously Grin

hubbard Sofia is a very slight child, she's tall but would weigh very little, she's a great eater, I know its easy to say but try not to worry, some children are just petite. Good luck with Toms check tomorrow, hope you get some answers and support as what to do next xxx

ekkkr loving the name!

reastie oops Grin

OP posts:
blizy · 04/04/2012 19:32

eggkr Grin at teeny tiny lasagne. I would cook them a baby sized roast for dinner Wink

44me- yay to Archie!Grin

Reastie you donut! Grin

Hubbard- I hope toms appointment goes well and that they come up with answers.

forgot what else was said, I have a head of mush! Grin

blizy · 04/04/2012 19:34

Wiggles - I'm loving the sound Of the egg hunt. Can I come and pretend to be challenge Aneka?
