Hello! It's me. I thought I'd start a thread which is VERY cheeky for someone who's not been around for AGES! Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Honeymoonmummy · 13/05/2011 05:22

Hi, have read back now but will probably forget to comment on all (on phone so can't see properly)

CF I'm sorry to hear about chemical PG Sad x

Star well done on selling your house!

Myjob yay for N being dry at night! Pops is also dry at night but I'm still using pull up pants altho I could do without the expense TBH.

Supposed to be going into city centre to meet work colleagues for lunch today but got myself spooked by fri 13th/ terrorist possibility Blush (stupid I know!) and by fact that we'd be rushing to get there on time so have cancelled it Sad

Honeymoonmummy · 13/05/2011 05:24

Oh sorry CF yes they did work last time but not straightaway, I can't remember how long but dov said give it 2 weeks. And thanks re Poppy, I sometimes wonder if she was swapped in the hospital Wink

CakeandRoses · 13/05/2011 12:41

Hey! Can I come and join this thread 2.5 years too late or will you laugh me off MN? Blush

I'm on the postnatal thread for my 9mo and love it and was just wondering if you'll let me come over here and chat with you too (have an Oct08 ds).

I'll understand if you tell me to get my coat...

Honeymoonmummy · 13/05/2011 12:55

Get your coat Cake Grin ... No of course, the more the merrier, altho we are rather depleted these days. I have a 7 week old DS and my DD was born on 5 November 08 so technically I shouldn't be here ... Hmm Welcome! Smile

Talk about fri 13th!! DH has burnt his hand quite badly so can't do much involving both hands, so I had to take poppy and DS to a new group she's just joined where she goes to a farm and does farmy things... Which involved a walk down a very muddy lane today. So theres me in DHs wellies, pushing DS in a non-4 wheel buggy through basically a muddy field while pops decides to jump in all the muddy puddles a-la- Peppa Pig. So guess which child out of all of them ended up falling in the mud?? Oh yep. Still it was nice to get out HmmGrin

HavePatience · 13/05/2011 14:18

Which one fell in the mud?

Welcome cake :) I used to be StarExpat. So everyone here still calls me "star"... just in case you're confused!

CakeandRoses · 13/05/2011 14:40

Thank you! I promise to behave myself and to remember which child I'm supposed to be posting about here Smile

My toddler ds is Felix and my dd is Aurelia, by the way.

Can I start to bore you early on to ask you about teeth? Do yours all have their last molars now? ds is a fucking total mare little pickle when teething and I've just check and he has half a tooth and quarter of a tooth out of the last four so looks like there's no immediate end in sight. He's like dh a teenager when teething - grumpy, unreasonable and irritable which is so unlike him normally. and of course dd is also teething so it's basically the shits here at the mo.

you getting much sleep honey?

CakeandRoses · 13/05/2011 14:42

oh and i've just seen you lot a far less potty-mouthed than i'm used to on my t'other thread. I'll try to keep it clean in future Grin

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/05/2011 16:43

Welcome C&R.
I have a July 2010 baby too, but I'm on the June thread as was due 29th.
I have a 5 yo too. And I live in the same county as you. Have we spoken before - your name does look a little familiar?

Baby pistachio?

Glad you and Dylan both have some medication to sort you out hmm.

:( cf. Hope the gp has news.

CakeandRoses · 13/05/2011 19:10

Ooh that's weird csws (or do you go by CantSleep?), we could have ended up on two of the same postnatal threads! I live near Stansted, are you anywhere near here?

Your name rings a bell too but I can't think which thread/s we've spoken on. Don't dare check spreadsheet in case we're actually arch enemies from a ebf thread or somthing ;-)

pepperrabbit · 13/05/2011 20:07

Is pistachio somewhere pushing and swearing or still high altitude bouncing??

I have busy weekend ahead, friend coming tomorrow with luckily only 2 of her kids, the DH gets to look after all 5 of them while she and I go to our school reunion then on Sunday it's DS1s 7th birthday party
I have sooooooo much to do for all of these things that I really really should be whipping up a quiche while wrapping 800 layers of haribo infested Pass the Parcel and tidying the whole house.
But heyho, I'm on MN.....Grin

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/05/2011 20:45

CSWS is fine by me C&R, but I'll answer to pretty much anything! I've checked - it was a blw thread. I gave you the porridge pancake 'recipe'.

Have a good weekend pepper!

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/05/2011 20:47

Oh and we're nearer to Luton airport than Stansted.

CakeandRoses · 13/05/2011 20:56

Phew, csws! I'd checked your profile and thought we had similar views on most things so thought we probably hadn't ended up on opposite viewpoints on a thread. A tory tho...? Hmm Grin

I've ended up as Cake for short usually - not being precious, I'll answer to anything too but might not notice other abbreviations Grin

I've noticed half this thread seems to be dairy-free. We're vegan so no strangers to that world either Smile

ronshar · 13/05/2011 21:16

Pocks head round the door to see if Pistachio has stopped bouncing yet? Still nothing.

Welcome CaksandRoses. We all think with potty mouths but rarely type it out. Well I do any wayGrin

CF. Sad I can say nothing else which would be good enough.

HMM At least your house should be a bit calmer very soon.

CSWS. Hellooooo.

Hello everyone else.

Off on a hen weekend early tomorrow. I am living a very glamourous life at the moment. I was in the Maldives the other week but only for three days so hardly counts.

ronshar · 13/05/2011 21:26

Star before you say it I dont know what pocks means either!!!! I meant poke!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/05/2011 22:01

Hold on a minute - you went to the fucking Maldives and are only just now mentioning it?! Which island/resort? And why for so little time?

HavePatience · 13/05/2011 22:13

I figured that out, ronshar Wink and I wouldn't have said anything! I have a student teacher in my classroom right now and she's from America... and speaks like she stepped off the set of "clueless" (anyone know that movie - long time ago when I was a teen!) "ohmygod! ohmygod! like that is sooooo totally cool! wow. This is such a cool place. I'm like, obsessed. awesome. At home, I'm in a sorority..." I was thinking, "no kidding!". AHHHHHHHH! I want to scream. It's very, very valley-girl-esque if that's a term you know over here (Cake - I'm American... but no one on this thread hates me for it :) ).

Anyway, I've had a week of it and there are 2 weeks left... I'm biting my tongue. She said to me this afternoon: "you like, don't like, sound American at all. like it's so weird".

She is a sweet girl and I'm a bitch to rant about it. It's just been a long week!

Trying to sort a loan. Filling out solicitor's paperwork so long as loan comes through. Trying to search for 95% mortgage deals since ours doesn't seem to be letting us in on the negative equity scheme... but not sure if these will be more expensive long term? any experts here? I'm a financial idiot. Or at least I feel like one of late.

me me me

Grin

HMM I'm glad you have some medicine now. I think Ad's take a few weeks to truly kick in. How is DH enjoying having two?

I saw your fb pics. Peppa pig looks really strange in person!!! well, in character! ha! Almost creepy. Your little DD, on the other hand, is beautiful. Is she enjoying Dylan more?

Cake - I'm not dairy free but I'm vegetarian. Not vegan. And you can use whatever language you like. No one minds :)

Ronshar how are you doing?

Ohhhhhh I think pistachio is birthing a baby!

HavePatience · 13/05/2011 22:14

oh yeah, ronshar. What's that all about?? And why didn't you swing by and pick me up on your way??? Grin

HavePatience · 13/05/2011 22:17

csws - can you give the porridge pancake recipe on here? That sounds yummy.

I was meant to have a blood test today to check iron levels and other stuff but I was absent minded and I ate something at 10.30 (just a probiotic yogurt drink) and appt was at 12noon. When I rang, they told me I would have to reschedule.

I can go a long time without food so it should be ok... but isn't it a bit much to expect someone to not eat or drink from 8pm until 12noon the next day? Maybe not...

ronshar · 13/05/2011 22:27

How do you know about the birthing of baby???
Americans annoying Never Star neverWink

Sister works for the nations favourite airline now so I can use her for lovely short CHILDFREE wonderful breaks. I didnt miss them one little bit either. Shoot me now you good mummies. I know I am a bad mummy. No guilt here Smile

Honeymoonmummy · 13/05/2011 22:32

Has everyone seen facebook? Smile

Great, finally an excuse to get potty mouthed, fuckity fuckity fuck Grin

HavePatience · 13/05/2011 22:35

Ronshar I was making a guess re: pistachio :)

I don't think there is anything wrong with enjoying a child free break. I'm just precious about my pfb. If I had 3 dc I'd be well over that!

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/05/2011 22:36

Ooh I have now hmm! A Wine to baby Phoebe.

star - it's a weaning recipe, so can't imagine why you want it, but it's on here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/food/195537-hub-s-porridge-pancakes-a-big-hit-wean-on-this

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/05/2011 22:37

and star - they should do your appt first thing if you have to fast for it. That's why GTT tests are always done as the first ones of the day.
