Hello! It's me. I thought I'd start a thread which is VERY cheeky for someone who's not been around for AGES! Grin

Yes lactic acid ok afaik (apart from the fact that it's most commonly found in sour milk products, which would obv make them a no-no anyway!).
You can have divine dark choc, elizabeth shaw dark choc mint crisps, bendicks mint crisps, waitrose dark choc mint thins, kallo dark choc rice cakes, most bourbons, party rings, salted crisps (lots of other flavours too, but I like salted ones), and my new favourite snack, this.
It's vitalite or pure sunflower spread or M&S dairy free sunflower spread.
Oatly with added calcium (ie not the organic one) or hemp milk or kara coconut based milk.
And get coconut milk or cream for making curries etc.

What's in lactulose that makes it a no-go?

I would not try to go soya free, but I would try not to add soya to your diet iyswim. ie not a whole load of soya substitutes for dairy products.

Just to go against the trend on this thread, I am a little disapproving of weeing here there and everywhere (although I've not got a potty trained boy yet, so will prob change my mind in a few months Wink). To pick up on myjob's point, I agree that it's unreasonable to expect a toddler to hold it in indefinitely, but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a parent to carry a porta-potty with them if they tend to be in that kind of situation.

cf - in addition to 50ft's suggestions, there is a site called usednappies.co.uk. I haven't used it, but I did check a while back and see some fluffles for sale (that's what I need to sell). I might actually see if I can sell some of my newborn ones at the car boot on Monday now you mention it.

Lovely to have you back 50ft :).

HMM the more medication you take to make you poo the lazier your bowel becomes. You have got to include more fruit, fiber and exercise in your lifestyle choices. Going Dairy free will help with that as well. Sorry to sound a bit harsh but taking tablets should always be a back up idea for constipation not the first. Unless you have a medical condition that we are unaware of?

Hello 50ft. I knew you would be back.

Myjob. Seriously. You think you have a broken foot and you are hoping it will get better on it's own???

Good grief. I am a bit busy for a few weeks and what happens!!!

On the weeing front, I have to say I dont really like seeing children wee in public. However I do totally accept that sometimes it is the only thing to do.
It is definetly better than having your child wet themselves in the Monsoon changing room Blush

Paultons Park was absolutely fab. W loved it. The dinosaur ride was a winner for us. And meeting George of course!
I am going to go again in the school term time as it was really busy and we didnt get to go on all the Peppa rides.

Hello everyone. I will be back again. I seem to run out of hours in the day at the moment.

Coconutfeet · 28/04/2011 08:21

Thanks for the nappy-selling suggestions Star and CSWS. I'll check them out.

Myjob - I know it's a pain but if you're suffering with your foot you should really get it checked out. I speak as someone who didn't get my ankle checked out when I sprained it in December and I'm still struggling with it as it swells up every time I try and walk more than a short distance and I've not got physio until May. I wish I'd got it checked out sooner so that I could have got some help with it earlier.

We're off camping this weekend. Heading up to my parents' tonight and then going up to the north Norfolk coast. S is really excited with his proper cosy new sleeping bag. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather for us!

Good luck with the dairy free HMM.

BertieBotts · 28/04/2011 13:15

Have you all started potty training then or is there anyone left with a child like mine who screams and runs away at the mere mention of the word?

CF - what are you selling? I'm thinking of getting some second hand cloth for Ryan despite it being a bit late. I might just go for wraps though since I have a load of prefolds and flat cotton squares I never used. (Well used them loads, just not as nappies!)

50ftQueenie · 28/04/2011 18:58

Having said try CNT nappy selling is a bit slow at the mo which is no good when I keep spending money on wool. Grin

BB - M has been dry day and night for about a month. She hated the potty at first but soon got used to the idea. We've had the odd accident but they are getting fewer and fewer.

Be back later.... DC are killing each other.....

Dear God for a minute there I thought DD2 was way behing her contemporaries - then I realised she's Oct 09, so as you were everyone..

pepperrabbit · 29/04/2011 10:12

bertieBotts - you are not alone! DD is having none of it, gets quite hysterical at the thought and will not succumb to any form of bribery sucha s Peppa Pig pants or chocolate.. sigh.
ginmakesitallok - LOL! Grin did you think we'd all name changed from your usual thread?!
Watching Royal Wedding here, thoroughly enjoying the whole thing and have pointed out to DH (who is NOT) that when the cricket/rugby is on he hogs the TV and the computer and the radio...... I don't actually have the radio on so what's he whinging about???

:( pistachio. My only advice is get yourself to the out of hours doctor. Or maybe it's labour? Some people have back pain in labour (it was all in front for me, so not sure if it's the same...) but call dr :)

I guess I would be worried about the baby, but you are an expert on babies in the womb so you don't need to be worried. I'm just a paranoid worrier :)

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/04/2011 20:53

I'm here pistachio! The bum bit def sounds like sciatica. I had it in my bum and down the side/back of my thighs. The bad news is that I didn't find anything that eased it, so the not being able to move thing was my life for months. The good news is that you only have a couple of weeks of it to look forward to. Although mine didn't go instantly after I gave birth, it did gradually ease over a period of a couple of weeks or so.

Can I suggest a chiropractor who specialises in women and children. I saw one after dd2. I couldn't move. My back was one of the worst she had seen post pregnancy. She very gently realigned my hips/spine and within 9 m onths I was pretty much pain free. It came back when pregnant with W but no where near as bad.
Can you lie on your back and with DH help slowly raise your knees to your bump and then slowly let them fall to the side and place your arms over to the opposite side. The repeat in opposite direction. VERY SLOWLY. Get DH to sopport your legs as you draw them across you. This will help to open up your hips etc. It is probably one of your cool down stretches at body pump.
Take as much pain relief as you can including ibuprofen. The more it hurts the more it will lock up.
GO TO THE DOCTOR. HTHs.

Wedding was brilliant today. Did everyone watch it? [cgrin]

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/04/2011 21:41

I could actually move pistachio, so perhaps not as bad as you, but I couldn't move without pain iyswim. I couldn't sit/stand/lie down without pain either.

Honeymoonmummy · 30/04/2011 01:12

Oh god pistachio, how awful. I wonder if a cranial osteopath might be able to help, it might be a bit less painful than a chiropractor? Having said that I saw one for me after pops was born and he didn't help much with my pelvic/ knee pain, but I know people go to CO when PG with SPD, presume also sciatica? You might find one open on a saturday (or a chiropractor)

Thanks for the dairy free advice CSWS, esp for typing out that long list for me! I actually dont like dark Choc but have some flapjacks which are dairy free (with apples and sultanas so good for constipation) and have a few of the dairy free Choc bars for when I get a craving for Choc, also DF Choc ice cream which wasn't about last time I don't think.

Went DF on Thurs, yesterday (fri) went to watch royal wedding at a 'picnic at the pitch' at our local football stadium. I'm queuing for face painting with Pops taking spoonfuls of her strawberry cheesecake haagen daazs (sp?) to stop it melting and DH comes up and says 'is that dairy free?' BlushBlushGrin

So the dairy free is going really well! Grin

Joking aside, only yesterday (Fri) his skin looked a bit better (maybe coincidence) and he seemed a bit happier in himself but early days and he could have been having a good day, time will tell ... I know my skin cleared up last time I went dairy free and DH still can't drink much normal milk without feeling sick, plus my mum and her brother can't eat dairy, someone did tell me once it wasnt hereditary tho.

CSWS I noticed lactulose itself was on a list of dairy ingredients i'm using as a guide, if this is wrong pls let me know as would be better if I could stay on it for now. this is the link

Ronshar, peppa pig world sounds ace, pops would love to meet George, it's a shame it's so far for us, maybe we'll combine it with a camping trip later in the year.

Honeymoonmummy · 30/04/2011 01:20
