Silky - did they give you a timescale for it to work? As it is Friday I would be trmpted to ring the doc and ask advice - see if they will give you some movicol to clear her out? Otherwise you will have a weekend of worry and a hurting DD.

CaptainCaveman · 28/01/2011 10:38

Poor dd silky - when did she last poo? Movicol is much kinder, as it makes the poo softer and therefore, easier to pass. Lactulose makes it slimey but still hard. Are you impressed with my poo knowledge? Grin

bb hope you're feeling brighter today?

crispy is that a permenant job oop north for dh?

hippy she sounds a delight, your knitter friend, I agree, keep your distance!!

morning all Grin off to town with mum and O today to buy mum's bday prezzzie (bday tomorrow), ahead of her world trip next week Envy

HippyHippopotamus · 28/01/2011 10:42

CrispyTheCrisp · 28/01/2011 15:36

Afternoon Smile

Had a visit to the docs this morning as I have had horrid chest/rib pain since last night. Thought i ought to get checked and luckily it seems that i am not going to drop anytime just yet and she thinks i have just pulled a muscle or got inflamed cartilage between my ribs. Ibuprofen doing a pretty good job of masking the pain Grin

silks hope your DD is ok. Poor thing, must be really horrid to have to go through. You too Sad. Re shepherds pie, i tend to chop up (very small) carrots, squash, aubergine, mushrooms and they all go well, Second the addition of garlic and worcestershire sauce.

We have been cleared for cat ownership today by the ca ts P rotection Le ague. Lady was very lovely and thinks they may have some we can see this weekend Smile

hips i would be steering well clear of the mad lady. Some people just need to relax and chill out rather than trying to make clever comments on other people

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 28/01/2011 15:41

Sorry for rubbish suggestions Blush Silky - If I made lentil pie these are the things various members of our house would requested added!

Crispy - yay on the ki tty front! Is DD1 fit to burst with excitement?

HippyHippopotamus · 28/01/2011 15:59

lol, i wondered why you two were putting your shopping lists on here!

i agree crisp, bit hard given that there's only a few of us who meet but hey, the rest of them are really lovely

SilkStalkings · 28/01/2011 16:24

We have POOOOOOOOOO!!!! A massive one apparently, just after school.Grin Bearing in mind her massive toilet-blocking ones only happen about once a month, 9 days is quite an improvement.

Done my shepherd's pie thanks - included a roast aubergine and some tamari soy sauce for faux meaty depth of flavour. Totally forgot I'm out for Thai food with some ladies tonight so it can sit in the fridge til tomorrow.

Next question: I've never been to a Thai restaurant and hate lemongrass and peanuts, am I going to be hungry? Should I cook the shepherds pie now and then later pretend I'm on Weightwatchers or something heheh?

SilkStalkings · 28/01/2011 16:27

And Crisp I can top that with my self-diagnosed spontaneous pneumothorax!Grin According to google, it will go away by itself but is still lurking when I cough/sneeze or lie down 8 days on. Hope yours gets better quick, it's all rather horrible isn't it?

luckoftheirish · 28/01/2011 17:51

Hurrah for dd's poo silks Grin not sure on Thai food so cannot offer any advice!

Crisp sounds nasty girl so pls take it easy. Hurrah for potential kitty!!

BibiBelle · 28/01/2011 19:12

hurrah for poo Silks and thanks for all the links. have managed to find out shop is going to be a craft centre so not sure I'll go down the yarn route. We have aleady have some lovely felted stuff in already and hoping to get more soon Smile Not great news about the craft centre but could be worse I suppose. Fingers crossed we manage to compliment rather than compete??

period here so feel like a hormonal lunatic but still desperately hoping I got a point across Hmm

work was shit hey ho

Crisp - easy lady and welll done on the kitty but is it wise to get one just before you rehouse to Glasgow??

BBBB we're heading to N.I at Easter but strange dates so will PM on FB so as not to bore people

thank you all for being so kind. I had myself off the end of the bridge or wandering around with a trolley full of drinks cans Blush

CrispyTheCrisp · 28/01/2011 20:44

cece job would be permanent but c.3 days a week in G lasgow, so no moving of cats necessary bibi Grin

Well done on the self diagnosis silks. If i get a pain from an under wired bra etc, it normally goes over night. The fact it continued overnight was why i went to the doc and then she said i might have a clot in my lung due to my flight Shock. Mind you, overall the visit was a good thing as she has put me on a referral for breas t screening due to the history of b.cancer in our family. I was on a similar scheme in B righton but never got round to it here.

Good news on poo BTW Grin

FjorgynAndHotWater · 28/01/2011 20:47

Hurrah for massive poo Grin

It's Friday, yay, and I have a M&S meal in the oven. Love Fridays Smile

HippyHippopotamus · 28/01/2011 20:55

evening all
anyone got any cunning ideas what i can do with an ear ache? i've taken some paracetomol already :(

CrispyTheCrisp · 28/01/2011 21:02

hips I always find ibuprofen better than paracetamol. Also if you think it is wax then pour in some warm olive oil which should help soften it

LOL @ M&S meal porn Grin. DH has just made chicken & chorizo casserole. Delish Smile

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 28/01/2011 21:08

Fjorny - a meal for £10? We have one of those - cajun chicken and mash, followed by apple and blackberry pie and ice cream.

Hippy - Take ibuprofen - it reduces inflammation as well as pain relief. a bit of warmth helps too - a sock with rice heated in the microwave (or a wheat bag) on it can help too.

Yay for poo Silky

Bibi - if you are in NI you may run into DH he seems to be moving there for A pril.

HippyHippopotamus · 28/01/2011 21:09

can i take ibu as well? damn, i should know this stuff! and is it ok to bf? pretty sure its not wax, ds was complaining of ear ache earlier in the week

cor, your casserole sounds nice

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 28/01/2011 21:11

Fine to BF with ibru as long as baby does not have a clotting disorder. Very little at all goes into the milk.

HippyHippopotamus · 28/01/2011 21:15

cool, thanks bbbb and I can take it now, yes? (took paracetomol a few mins ago)

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 28/01/2011 21:18

The general concensus is to wait an hour to give the paracetamol an hour to work then take the ibuprofen - then carry on at the time intervals on the box. so in 4 hours para then 6 hours from taking the ibru a second dose.

HippyHippopotamus · 28/01/2011 21:19

great, thank you! i feel a bit of a doofus for not knowing myself!
