Love it bibi Smile

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 26/01/2011 20:49

Dh has fallen down the stairs and has 2 visibly broken toes and a huge blue bruise down the side of his foot, he has also done something weird to his knee and there is a bruise behind his knee and along one side. Stupid fec ker refuses to go to the hospital, will try and get him to the doc tomorrow - he says they won't do anything so he may as well stay home and take ibuprofen. he is being an ARSE!

FjorgynAndHotWater · 26/01/2011 21:22

Bloody hell bbbb Shock hope he is OK, tell him from me though he's a fool for not going to the hospital. He could easily have broken a bone in his foot and they can take ages to heal. My friend's DH broke his foot falling down two steps at home, he thought it was just sprained but he ended up in a pot for about 2 months! MrBBBB get to hospital for an x-ray Hmm

RedLentil · 26/01/2011 21:36

Ouch. I break my toes quite regularly because I'm clumsy and hate shoes, and they won't do anything about that, but as Fjorgyn said, the bone in his foot is another matter. Defo a trip to hospital.Sad

Your dd1 made me roar laughing though. Maximum points to you for getting her to admit she needs an audience!

Bibi, I think those tapestry yokes are a bit rotten. The other things are lovely. So, that's one dilemma we've crowd-sourced off your back. Grin

BibiBelle · 26/01/2011 22:06

Shock BBBB - at least slather him in arnica cream!

Thanks Red - one dilema now if you could just soothe me about this new shop please [meep][whimper]

my friend who's daughter was going to do the logo for us has just told me she can't do it having been reassured since Nov she would. Anyone else know a graphic designer who works for cheesecake?!?!

OP posts:
RedLentil · 26/01/2011 23:13

The shop would give me major heart lurches too, but there's always competition around. We've both met it more and more as we've gone on. You just need to be absolutely clear about your own brand and communicate its worth to the customer.

It's really interesting that everyone here has said 'no, that's not very Tpt'. If you asked everyone to write down three words for its stock here I bet they'd be virtually identical. So keep the courage of your convictions.

The only graphic designers I know work for yer actual money. Grin

BibiBelle · 26/01/2011 23:47

Lol, I don't blame them! I'm currenly trying to write a work document and scour ETSY for designers - I should have ignored the lure of itunes earlier on Blush

RedLentil · 27/01/2011 00:07

Be careful to make sure you are getting copyright on the images and that they are available for resizing. Sent you message on that before at some point I think.

I'm watching a political talk show because it's election time here and I'm an election addict.

BibiBelle · 27/01/2011 00:11

I remember - I'm not choosing someone at this time, just having a nosey. It would be nice to use someone local but felt I should have a look on Etsy due to the handmade element. I might ask my friend who lectures at the local art school if she can recommend someone?

I love the national elections but the local one holds no interest for me for some reason Hmm I had to run from the meeting tonight to avoid getting cornered by the local councillor, esp as she is a Trust member Grin

Homework done and emailed to DH for checking. Time for bed for me zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

OP posts:
FjorgynAndHotWater · 27/01/2011 08:16

bbbb I hope your DH's foot is OK today.

red ouch at your many-times-broken toes.

bibi I love swearing Blush but not on a sampler, the other stuff you linked to was much nicer Smile

Good luck today star Smile

Having an odd day and it's only 8.15 Hmm. I work on the 2nd floor, came upstairs this morning and it didn't look right so thought I must have only walked to 1st floor. Back up the stairs, still wrong, I was on 4th floor Shock, got to my desk and my phone froze, tried to log on to the computer and it won't connect to the network Hmm so am sitting at another desk until my boss sends me home the IT guys come and sort me out. Might have to go for a cig to calm down...

HippyHippopotamus · 27/01/2011 08:33

good grief, has Mr bbbb seen sense yet?! def take him to a&e, he really would be daft not going

fjorgn are you sure you're in the right building? Grin

bibi is it a logo for shop? i can see if my sister's got time? her friend is about to have a baby so i'll swap her time for some baby cubes Wink

red, i love reading your posts. not only do they make sense, but they're nicely worded too. puts me the rest of us to shame

HippyHippopotamus · 27/01/2011 08:34

oh and star, thinking of you today

luckoftheirish · 27/01/2011 08:51

Good luck today Star [hugs]

fjor HmmGrin

bbbb treat him like a child and take him to the hospital!

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 27/01/2011 10:08

Star - thinking of you today :)

DH's foot looking fab and blue today. I have found out why he won't go to the hospital.... He is worried that if he has broken something they will put it in a cast and then they won't let him have the snip on Tuesday Hmm I have never know a man so determined to have his bits shaved and lasered!

Fjgyornyy - do you actually work today? Grin

Morning Hippy - how are you feeling today

Loti

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 27/01/2011 10:09

He has docs appointment made for him though and I have ordered FIL to take him!

luckoftheirish · 27/01/2011 10:22

Well done bbbb you see treat them like children and you get your own way Grin fingers crossed he is ok and doesn't moan too much!

SilkStalkings · 27/01/2011 11:14

BBBB Why would having a cast stop them operating on his bits?Confused My MIL broke a toe in her 20s and it was ignored (her being Queen of Martyrs & I suspect some confused Christian theory about suffering) and 40yrs later had to have it re-broken and re-set by surgeon. Surgeon f**ked it up even worse, 3yrs later she's just had it done at a different hospital and it's still had pins falling out of it and a giant blackberry-sized growth dripping gore everywhere and one can only imagine how much pain. Tell him thatGrin.

LOTI So glad the fainting has stopped. Have you thought about switching coffee/tea to hot chocolate? No caffeine rollercoaster and a good shot of sugar to stop your bloods dipping.

Bibi Sorry don't like either of those product ranges! One is a bit mumsy for T imo and the other is a bit lads mag-ish which I can't imagine any crafty person wanting to make. BTW I might know a graphic designer who might work for brownies actually...

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 27/01/2011 11:19

Silky - how is DD?

HippyHippopotamus · 27/01/2011 11:22

eurgh silk, really wish i hadn't read your post about your mum's foot!!!

bbbb mrsB 1 : MrB 0 Grin
feeling a bit better, thank you for asking. dcs still not well, wondering if they need the doc again...

CrispyTheCrisp · 27/01/2011 11:28

I shouldn't really be on here on my phone as probably costing a fortune. There is no Internet and I am bereft!

Bibi you can do your own logo for a 40 or so fee, there are loads of websites where you can have a play around. Don't use a company called logo f resh though as although they sent me the requisite picture files and formats they wouldn't process a small change for me and ignored all my emails Hmm. luckily dh hacked the files and sorted it

Ouch to mr bbbb, however I did lol at the fact that having a broken foot might stop them doing the snip. Which anatomy class did he go to? Grin

Back to work for me......

luckoftheirish · 27/01/2011 11:29

Hip if you are not sure take them back.. tis nearly the weekend and your b-day Grin so i would get them checked out.!

Thanks silks tho unfortunately i am one of those strange people who don't like hot chocolate Blush..

was thinking about your dd too hope she is ok

HippyHippopotamus · 27/01/2011 11:48

lol re MrB's knowledge of anatomy Grin

loti, hmm, true
you don't like hot chocolate?? Shock shocking!!

SilkStalkings · 27/01/2011 11:50

STILL no poo!
Oh and Bibi how about selling just a few fancy yarns from local sheep/alpaca/llama farmers or spinners/hand dyers? Have discovered last year that knitters of all ages are everywhere and will travel to see/buy yarns irl, not just buy them online. From a quick stalk on Ravelry.com, I see there is also a knitting group in C (Mond ays 5.15-7 Ligh th ouse) - you could pop along and pump them for ideas/local artisans, find out what they would buy.

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 27/01/2011 12:18

Thanks for all your good wishes, just popping on to say the scan was fine :) One very wriggly baby waving at us from the screen, was very cute. And we got lots of great pictures (as opposed to the two blurry kidney bean shots of DS).

What a relief!

HippyHippopotamus · 27/01/2011 12:21

dh's present for my b'day, your b'day is finished Grin I'm actually quite pleased, its a painting of our hands all on top of each other. i just hope he likes it! I was trying to get ds to draw round dh's hand so dh wouldn't twig i was up to something but he encouraged ds to do it himself. i had to then do it myself much to his amusement! i reckon he had guessed and was being deliberately awkward!

bibi sister is happy to have a look at logo ideas so i'll fb her email address to you
