aStarWithHerOwnWays · 19/01/2011 13:08

Yes, he was asking for chocolate spread sandwiches Grin

Fjorgyn I'd love to see you again before we move but not sure if we'll have time :( It's all go, what with me negotiating with work to let me go early Hmm and us driving back and forth at weekends looking for somewhere to live. I meant what I said about the camping holiday meet-up though, would be lovely to get a big posse of al fresco Aug08ers together once the warm weather arrives :)

RedLentil · 19/01/2011 13:10

Running out the door and out until 3:15 - will FB you cece. Smile

luckoftheirish · 19/01/2011 13:14

Merlion · 19/01/2011 13:21

Star forgot to ask did you see the thread about Sutton High Street? Any property porn for us yet?

When I spoke to Mum yesterday she did tell me that Dad wasn't supposed to say anything about the little girl clothes. After nearly 43 years of marriage she should know he's the worst gossip in the world and can't keep a secret to save his life Grin.

Bibi please come and stay a while we don't mind if you whinge!

DS also being a PITA.

Silks I didn't have a clue what zumba was but my Mum went to a class yesterday and explained to me what it was.

HippyHippopotamus · 19/01/2011 13:22

good good, glad you had a good night crisp Smile
10K? Shock well done! how long did it take you?
dh seems fine this morning, albeit tired. i'm not sure if he's just pretending all is fine or whether he's decided its not worth worrying about. i really hope the latter!

off to a lovely p&t group with the lovely albs and mstrAlbs today so i'd better get moving Grin

oh and what sleepy dust did you get sewn into the quilt??!! P has fallen asleep on it again this morning!!!

HippyHippopotamus · 19/01/2011 13:24

sorry, i wrote above 6hrs ago!

HippyHippopotamus · 19/01/2011 13:29

back later when i've got more than half a hand to type with Smile

luckoftheirish · 19/01/2011 14:25

Just to let you all know i have made the most amazing lemon drizzle loaf cake today.. took minutes to make and is imo LUSH Grin..

as you were Smile

RedLentil · 19/01/2011 15:09

If it helps, I noticed last night that dd2 is cutting some teeth at the back ... That might account for crankiness. She's the least of my worries at the mo as she's one chilled bean and as long as she has her orange cup and her lion plate she's easy enough to please .

Off to read the last chapter of the second HPotter book. [yikes]

RedLentil · 19/01/2011 15:24

Mmm, cake. Smile

HippyHippopotamus · 19/01/2011 16:47

a cheeky fecking chav of a mother had the fecking cheek to tell my Ds off Angry
quite why she took it upon herself to tell T off whilst ignoring her own three unruly unwashed children, i'm not sure
and what was T doing? nothing at all apart from tapping his hands on the step he was sitting on whilst patiently waiting for P to be weighed at the clinic

oh and you'll never guess what cheeky fecking chav of a mother it was.... anyone remember the big bag of dirty baby clothes i was given by a complete stranger in the street? oh yes! the very same woman! at least now i have a reason to ignore her

i seriously can't believe her cheek! when i questioned her about it, she said 'i saw you looking over and you looked angry so i told him off for you' Erm no, i wasn't angry, T and i were pulling faces at each other across the room (3metres away from me) And i pointed out that even if i was angry, it was for me to deal with him not her especially when her kids were running amuck

(i didn't say the bit struckout but i sure as hell though it!)

her eldest (4 yr old) was trying to grab P when i was bf. i very nicely asked him not to touch her especially because i was feeding her. She made a huge song and dance about moving her son away and loudly telling him about how he'd been bf as well as all his siblings. Hmm

oooh i feel better for getting that off my chest

as you were ladies!

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/01/2011 20:55

Yes i am up for a camping meet in the summer Smile.

hips if you want to be bored with my exercise achievements, come back to HM Blush. Took me just under an hour for 10k and cece i am still enjoying the running but the main reason is to try and shift the excess Xmas poundage. We do have another 1/2 marathon trainee on Hotmamas so you should come and join us too Grin

red bless DD2 and her cup and plate. DD2 is happy atm as long as she has her party Bar bie with her and no-one lays a finger on it

LOL @ PapaLion and his loose tongue. Hope your Mum hasn't gone into 'i told you so' mood!

LOTI hurrah for cakey bakeage success

hips you know, you need to work on that permanent angry face Wink. How is DH this evening?

HippyHippopotamus · 19/01/2011 21:38

dh is great..currently cleaning kitchen whilst i bf P Smile

i'm doing 2K in 13mins atm Blush Still, its early days yet Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/01/2011 21:40

That's not bad at all Hips - 10k in 1hr and 5. Pretty bloody good IMO. Also is that on the road or treadmill? It is easier on the treadmill to keep a constant pace.

Glad DH is a Good'un this eve Smile

HippyHippopotamus · 19/01/2011 21:42

on the road, half uphill
really? it feels really slow but i'm deliberately taking it easy for first couple of weeks at least

CaptainCaveman · 19/01/2011 21:49

ok crispy, when the writings done, I'LL jog on over to hms Grin

loti I command you to eat the cake you made, stop the fainting Wink

off to find some new car insurance as my premium for another year of trouble free driving has gone up rather a lot Hmm Shock. Any recommendations?

CrispyTheCrisp · 19/01/2011 22:05

Hips, that is fab then. Honestly. Mind you, if you start running faster than me then i shall claim it is all down to your longer legs BlushGrin

If you are running at an ok pace for you, you will easily be able to increase the distance

cece hurrah for your HM pledge Grin. I use AP lan (no space between the P and the L LOL). They have consistently been cheapest and i couldn't fault them over our stolen car claim

FjorgynAndHotWater · 19/01/2011 22:27

cece I am with L V for car insurance (and house actually) They were the cheapest by miles when I first passed and just renewed fully comp for less than £400 which I didn't think was bad when I've only been driving a year. No idea what they're like if you need to make a claim though, and hope to never find out... I followed the money saving expert's guide to using the comparison sites when I got mine.

FjorgynAndHotWater · 20/01/2011 08:27

Morning all Smile

Blardy freezing out there again , took ages to scrape all the ice off the car. Going to have to find my wooly hat again before tomorrow as am off to London on the train [excited] but will be hanging around Wakey station for half an hour at 7am. Unfortunately it's for work so no chance for a sneaky meetup while I'm there Sad but at least I'll have several hours of peace on the train to read my book Smile

HippyHippopotamus · 20/01/2011 08:48

fjyorn what? not even a lunch break?

thanks crisp, that's my plan..to gradually increase length of route. tried to run last night but the previous night i pulled a muscle running upstairs when i heard a bang from T's room so last night's was more of a quick walk. hopefully back out for a proper one on fri though. right, i suspect this running talk is boring the pants off of most of you so i will restrict all future talk to HMs. But if any of you fancy popping over to join me with the rest of them, make sure you bring cake Grin

i saw a woman yday with a 3mth old with the flattest stomach i have ever seen in my life. not only was she wearing tailored trousers, nice top but she'd brushed her hair too Shock Seriously, she looked stunning! How on earth did she manage it?!! i was sitting there analysing it all and figured that obviously i was like that when T was 3mths (yeah right!) so i'm only a big old frump now because i'm on second child. i then overheard her talking to someone about how she's got to rush off to pick up her almost 3 yr old from her mum's. so i'm still at the drawing board to work out what her secret is!! Confused

oh and good morning all

Merlion · 20/01/2011 10:49

Fjyorn yay for long train journey - reading anything good at the moment?

Hippy DH gone exercise mad again since the new year. He's going to some crazy u-fit thing in the mornings (I think sort of military style boot camp). He reckons I should go once I've had the baby Hmm.

Crispy no she's not in I told you so mode but I do have the issue that she wants to come and look after DS when I have the baby. DH not happy about this and I am not sure how much help she will actually be and would prefer it if she came a bit later when DH goes back to work as that would be more help.

luckoftheirish · 20/01/2011 11:21

love long train journeys Fjor particularly with no dcs Grin..

Ladies i am feeling a bit better yay Grin.. i think all your advice has really helped so thank you thank you thank you Smile

SilkStalkings · 20/01/2011 12:28

Hippy Was she BFing or FFing? FF can certainly have advantages for mums - my DD slept 7-8hr stretches from 8wks so I had tons of energy and my body got back to normal v quickly, despite CSec. And if it was a first baby, just wait til she has her second, then she'll be a messGrin.

LOTI That's good to hear. Whoever mentioned the GI diet, that's v sensible for keeping your blood sugar levels level. Porridge for brekker, hoummous and oatcakes and flapjacks galoreSmile. Seedy bread rather than wholemeal, the more seeds, grains and nuts you can nibble throughout the day the better. Don't try to separate carbs and proteins or you'll get a post-carb crash - the protein slows down the carb digestion, keeping energy levels less rollercoasterish.

I am counting blessings today, despite still being in post-Zumba pain all over.

Have a bipolar chum who is camping out in our local lounge bar knitting all week in an effort to avoid being sectionedSad. She figured hospital will be similar but with bad coffee, worse food and no friends so lots of us have been popping in at different times to keep her company. She is the one whose DS had leukaemia last year, he's now cancer-free and home for good YAY! But the depression she has been fighting back with adrenalin has now begun to win. DS2 & I spent a pleasant couple of hours with her this am.
On the way through the bar I saw Riven from Mumsnet's DD all over the front pagesSad. I think she has officially lost David Cameron any votes from Mumsnetters ever againAngry. She's an amazing lady, wicked sense of humour born of desperation.

HippyHippopotamus · 20/01/2011 12:45

silks it was her second!! her older one was at her mum's house! no idea about ff or bf. i was too Blush to talk to her, seriously, she was stunning. no makeup, just naturally wow!
good grief, your poor friend

v pleased to see you're feeling better loti but please continue to be sensible

merlion military camp? sounds like great fun!! my bro used to run one but he got fed up of everyone whinging at him! how are you feeling?

HippyHippopotamus · 20/01/2011 12:47

i've got a young lady on my lap trying to do sit ups Shock The scary thing is that she's not far off from succeeding!!
