Book club was put back until next Wednesday so we had a Potter-fest instead. I think I'll finish my book now anyway and attack work and lesson-planning in a serious way at the weekend.

The amount of stuff I've got on is making it more likely I'll have to use some proper childcare. I'll stick my head in the sand about that for a bit longer though ... Confused

BibiBelle · 13/01/2011 21:44

If you were closer Red I'd happily throw them in with my rabble

Morning all Smile

Busy at work so shouldn't really be on here Blush but just wanted to send my congratulations to MrStar Smile Obviously I am selfishly gutted as I'm sure it means you'll be moving too far away for day trips Sad but delighted for you all too. We'll have to fit in an extra northern meetup before you go Smile

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 14/01/2011 08:32

I was thinking a camping meet-up in the summer Grin

FjorgynAndHotWater · 14/01/2011 08:37

Good idea Grin

HippyHippopotamus · 14/01/2011 08:52

morning ladies
i'm ahead of the game this morning Shock Not really sure how that happened but we're ready to leave an hour before we need to be! This has never happened before!! i've even had a shower Shock which reminds me TS, its shower day today Wink

fjorhghasd back to work!!!

hi star how you feeling? are you at the 'i've got loads of energy' stage yet?

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 14/01/2011 10:40

Am I fuck.

HippyHippopotamus · 14/01/2011 12:23

oh... well there's plenty of time for all that malarky!

RedLentil · 14/01/2011 12:31

Star - you share my dh's attitude to camping I see. Grin

If any of you know any British pub names, would you mind putting them on the WDHD FB page? This is, I promise , the last plug for it - it's a long story but there's someone visiting it today who needs to see evidence that it's alive and well. Wink And I didn't know that before I put something farking obscure up. Blush

luckoftheirish · 14/01/2011 12:49

Done Red hope it's right Smile

Bloods back but have to see docs on Monday... Receptionist would give much away but indicated iron so hopefully getting that bit sorted.

Hope your energy comes back soon Star and big congrats to your Dh!! Hopefully you will move to a city we can all visit.

Well done on getting ready on time hip! I used to be on time/ early for everything... Now permanently late Blush

HippyHippopotamus · 14/01/2011 12:49

i would red, but i can't get on fb today. as soon as i solve problem, i'll be there with bells on Smile

SilkStalkings · 14/01/2011 12:55

STAAAAAAAAAAR So excited for you and DH, hope it means you'll be creeping a bit nearer your family.

Went to a live link up of the musical Fela! from the National Theatre last night. Didn't have a clue what it was about but man there was some inspiring dancing, all Afrobeats and hypnotic whole body stuff. Restrained myself from being the only one at the cinema getting up and joining in.

Met friend at Crafty Coffee whose enormous 7m old is being tested for cystic fibrosisSad. She is officially underweight from BFing his mammoth needs and has a v energetic 2yr old too. He's such a jolly, friendly chap though, gets passed around dozens of strange women for a bit of the old up-down-up-down lapdance til their arms get tired, then moved on, happy as Larry.

Re camping meetup, DH's band have applied to play at some festivals this year (not massive ones), if they get one, how cool a meetup would that be?

HippyHippopotamus · 14/01/2011 13:02

oooh silk, that would be great :)
sorry to hear about your friend

HippyHippopotamus · 14/01/2011 13:04

sorry loti x posted with you earlier
can the doctor not give you a phone call this afternoon?

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 14/01/2011 14:06

Silk that would be awesome :) Hope your friend's lo is okay. My friend's sister was diagnosed with CF last year, in her 40s. I didn't think it could hide that long, iyswim. It sounds like a very stressful situation for everyone.

luckoftheirish · 14/01/2011 14:37

Like the sound of that silks and hope all ok with your friend..

Hip docs don't call in my surgery, so will wait til Monday just getting on with it now..

Play date sorted for tom afternoon and hoping to fit a trial dance class for the dds in the morning! Dh playing golf again [sigh]

HippyHippopotamus · 14/01/2011 16:59

loti they don't at mine either but i had a call from one of them because i said it was the only sensible thing to do! (i was still wobbly from dd's birth and needed my bood test results) so might be worth pushing for it if it happens again to you (obviously hope it doesn't though!)

CrispyTheCrisp · 14/01/2011 17:53

Congrats on being ready an hour early Hips. I am pleased to tell you that you have now graduated from the 2DC getting up and out course Smile. Your next one to attend will be 'how to stop 2DC running in opposite directions'. Please note that i have yet to pass this module Grin

LOTI did you buy the spatone? . I hope DH gives you some time to yourself over the weekend

I am up for a camping meet anytime, although we may be doing a European grand tour in the summer hols

DD2 refused her tea, had diahorrea (DH cleared up ) and is now tucking in Hmm

FjorgynAndHotWater · 14/01/2011 18:46

Am Shock that your friend wasn't even diagnosed with CF until her 40s star, it is in my family and two of my cousins died from it, one aged 9 and one aged 20 (this was about 25 years ago). Thank goodness my two were tested with the newborn heelprick tests and don't have it (don't know if I'm actually a carrier). The treatment is vastly improved nowadays I think, but still a v worrying time for your friend silky. Fingers crossed it's something much more benign Sad

9.5 hour day today Shock and have been v busy all that time hence no dossing on here. Hope to make it up though Grin

QueenofDreams · 14/01/2011 19:02

Hey everyone :)

loti hope you're looking after yourself. Fainting all the time sounds awful :(

star yaay for DH.

no1 DD weighed in at 9lb 14oz and hasn't dropped any since! For weight she's on the 98th centile, for length she's on the 75th, so she looks like a little round pudding Grin

She really is a little dream, and I've been feeling really guilty because I feel like I've bonded with her far quicker than I did with DS. I'm enjoying this time far more than I did when S was tiny. S is gorgeous with her though, 'helping' dress her and change nappies etc. Hopefully this will continue

ooh got to go, she needs feeding AGAIN!

RedLentil · 14/01/2011 19:47

QOD they both sound lovely. Smile
The second time is easier because all the anxiety is gone and you just enjoy it. Don't feel guilty about that. Your dd1 won't get quite the attention ds did so it all balances out. Grin

Thank you for all you pub talk, my lovelies. You're very kind. White. locks was where dh and I had our first date drawing a veil over the poly bop years.

FjorgynAndHotWater · 14/01/2011 20:01

White Locks was where DH and I had our last date Smile shame it was before DS was born, or even conceived. Sad Note to self - must arrange more some babysitters.

Glad things are going so well queenie Smile big babies are lush, just back-knackering Grin

HippyHippopotamus · 14/01/2011 20:38

evenin' ladies
anyone around tonight?

luckoftheirish · 14/01/2011 20:42

Present miss Smile
