HippyHippopotamus · 14/01/2011 21:19

DS did his first gym class today Smile
We went to the baby class first where mums stay and superivise their DCs and the organiser asked me if T wanted to stay for the next class (the mums sit in the room next door with a cup of tea :) ). They're meant to be 3 yrs for it but she reckoned he was ready for it. Well, he had a great time and was so good and well behaved!! But seriously, the boy has no fear! Confused
i'm so proud of him!

luckoftheirish · 14/01/2011 21:25

crisp this woman is doing my head in!!!

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 14/01/2011 21:26

QoD how lovely your big little girl sounds :) I am so pleased that you're having a wonderful time this time round.

hippy go T. DS loves gym tots too but I'm not at the stage where I can leave him yet. No wonder you're proud!

Big news from this end: DH got an offer from the other company he really really liked, which he has decided to accept. So we're really moving Shock Thinking about Sutton area, as it seems affordable and pleasant and it's on the right train line. OMG OMG OMG we're moving back down south, I can't believe it. And DH is so happy, which is making me smile like a crazy person :)

CrispyTheCrisp · 14/01/2011 21:35

luckoftheirish · 14/01/2011 21:37

Hip so proud of your ds, well done him!!

Crisp, love phil, really didn't like that couple at all grrr Grin

PertyPru · 14/01/2011 21:37

Aw, Hippy, what a good big boy Smile

Thanks for your FB advice oh wise and experienced parents! (Red, have joined in yours, late to the party as usual...) DD is in bed after some but not too much trying-it-on. There's a mattress on the floor but no rail and no duvet clips - and her door doesn't close properly and we had no luck finding the bits that actually hold the stairgates (either of them) to the wall. Thank you for not saying 'why didn't you keep them with the stairgates?' Grin I remember putting them somewhere safe, ha ha ha Hmm Only place we haven't looked yet is the attic. Try that in the morning and then buy a new one I think - only way to make them turn up for sure Hmm

So this is going to be all a bit me me but on top of that excitement we had our 12 wk scan this morning! One baby, present and correct, if very unco-operative Grin. And they've jumped me to 13 wks which is fab (remind me of this when I go overdue and am resisting an induction...) And I had the nicest phlebotomist(sp?) in the world and thus did not faint (Loti please please have a restful weekend!) Saw friends this afternoon so started spreading the news. And told DD who said 'I know' Hmm

AND and and - my friend had her little girl today, a sister for my god-daughter, a month early(!) but both ok, no details yet but Grin

PertyPru · 14/01/2011 21:42

Ooo x-post! Hurrah Star and MrStar! Hurrah for future London meets! So pleased for you Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 14/01/2011 21:45

pru so, so glad all went well for your 12/13 week scan Smile and PMSL at M's response Grin

LOL @ LOTI. Tis Saaaaaaaffff London. Innit

FjorgynAndHotWater · 14/01/2011 21:54

Yay for MrStar and how exciting re house hunting etc! Just remember to pick a house big enough for visitors to stay over Smile I'm gonna miss you though.

pert hurrah for a good scan Smile I'm sure DD will be fine without stairgate or bed guard. DS has a mattress sticking out under his bed and quite often won't even wake up when he rolls out, we just hear the thud as he lands on the floor. He still sleeps in his sleeping bag and his duvet is rolled up and laid along the edge like a barrier which works well most of the time.

crispy so glad your dad is doing better Smile

CrispyTheCrisp · 14/01/2011 21:56

Thanks fjorn Smile

We have a travel BabyDan bed guard which my sis gave me. Tis fab and we can take it anywhere. DD1's wooden bed guard long ago ended up on the fire as it bust Hmm

FjorgynAndHotWater · 14/01/2011 21:57

Oh and I have persuaded DH that we should seriously think about having an extension and get the architect back soon, after I've messed around measuring and doing lots of plans of my own, so we will ahve room for all some of you to come and stay over at ours too, it's very exciting Grin I will be seeking lots of input re plans / layout / new kitchen!

CrispyTheCrisp · 14/01/2011 21:58

Fjorn, we have just got planning permission. Not for waht i want mind you, but give me a shout if you want any input

FjorgynAndHotWater · 14/01/2011 22:00

I thought about getting one of those crispy but as DS tends to fall out when he's wriggled right round to the bottom of the bed it wouldn't really help.

They are sleeping soundly tonight, hurrah, the fecking cat woke them at 6.15am wailing at the bathroom door while I was having a shower so bed time was a bit fraught but better than last night when, after MIL let DS sleep for an hour while he was playing at her house, he didn't go to sleep until 9pm

FjorgynAndHotWater · 14/01/2011 22:01

Woo hoo re your planning permission at last Grin remind me what you're having done apart from my guest suite Wink

CrispyTheCrisp · 14/01/2011 22:04

LOL, for us she is hemmed in between the ladder and the guard Grin

DH is getting his workshop for Patsy. I am getting nowt Angry. Arsehole planners.

FjorgynAndHotWater · 14/01/2011 22:07

Well you do have quite a big house already Wink and once DH moves into the workshop with his girlfriend patsy you'll have even more room Grin

HippyHippopotamus · 14/01/2011 22:13

i've just caught up and couldn't help not read it all really fast because of all the exciting news!!

yay!!!! for mr and mrs and mstr star!!! london meetups indeed Grin

pru we've got a travel dan stair gate you're welcome to borrow til you find your missing bits. and actually, i think albs has just taken hers down permanently so she might be able to help... seems daft you buying new one

oh and of course a big Smile for your scan news

CrispyTheCrisp · 14/01/2011 22:15

Oh yes, I Know that having 4 bedrooms is great. I just want one more so that we can have a dedicated study/library/dc's room.

DH gets his workshop, so why can't i have mine???? All because some f'ing planner decides that we might 'change the street scene' Angry Grrrrrrrr

HippyHippopotamus · 14/01/2011 22:16

and thanks for all your lovely comments re ds Smile

FjorgynAndHotWater · 14/01/2011 22:43

crispy I suppose that is the only downside of living in the garden before the fall. Don't think the planners could give a stuff what houses down my road look like, not if next door is anything to go by Hmm

hiipy your children and you are all lovely Smile
