What age?

Coffeeishot · 28/06/2025 12:16

You just have to say no girlfriends unless you are aware and you will revoke all sleepover privileges if he doesn't tell you.

Moltenpink · 28/06/2025 12:16

Assuming they are 16? I would leave it for now, have a calm chat about it this evening.

Coffeeishot · 28/06/2025 12:17

Are they 16 or 18 ?

Doseofreality · 28/06/2025 12:18

chuck some Holy Water on tuem
both and all will be ok.

Noideawhatiam · 28/06/2025 12:19

If I understand correctly you don't have an issue with him stay over at her house, so not a fundamental issue with them spending the night together. I understand you're upset because he went behind your back, but I think that staying in the annex could be a reasonable compromise.

Zov · 28/06/2025 12:20

Wow, what an utter non-issue. Do you usually get so angry and stressed at such trivial things @Carol52 ? Confused

TheNinthLock · 28/06/2025 12:22

I think if you are ok about him stopping at her house, you have to be ok about her stopping at yours? Otherwise it's mixed signals.
So yes, he should have asked. But he probably thought it would be fine seeing as he is allowed to stop at hers.
So a minor slip-up on his part (a quick 'mum is it ok if Y stays after prom' would have been polite) but really really not worth making a big deal over.

Carol52 · 28/06/2025 12:24

He is 18

And don't forget to book an Exorcist OP!

silentlyleavetheirlife · 28/06/2025 12:28

it would be worse if he couldn’t get a girlfriend and no one wanted to stay.

BedChem · 28/06/2025 12:28

Jesus 😂😂😂

what a fuss over nothing.

lazyarse123 · 28/06/2025 12:28

18 goodness he's an adult. If others were staying it's a non issue. It is his home too.

Noideawhatiam · 28/06/2025 12:28

You're right that it's your house, but it's his home too, unless you'd prefer he find a home somewhere else (perhaps at his girlfriend's house) and then you'd get "what you wanted" but I'm sure you'd then realise that it isn't what you really wanted after all.

Please dont chat. Jesus.

I lived on my own at 18!

Carol52 · 28/06/2025 12:29

I know some of you think it’s ridiculous but I have a younger daughter at home as well. I appreciate their ages but to not ask IS disrespectful

Oh God. Choose your battles.

MrsPositivity1 · 28/06/2025 12:29

No matter what age you still have to have respect for your parents if you are living under your roof. I’d be furious too OP

Noideawhatiam · 28/06/2025 12:30

Well then if you really must chat about it, just calmly ask him to let you know in future.

Snorlaxo · 28/06/2025 12:30

If you accept it at her house then you need to start accepting it at yours unless this isn’t about sex and something else like they are noisy and keep you awake at night.

Carol52 · 28/06/2025 12:32

Thank you Mrs positivity . I feel as though I am getting ridiculed and am a bad parent. Everyone is different .
