Essie I'd guestimate she is about 9.5lbs (h.v still hasn't weighed her so i can have my postnatal check ) She is only now coming out of newborn clothes. How many do you have?

treedelivery · 13/12/2008 13:06

ThumbElff - that's by faaaar the best reason ever not to go tea total with a dp ever. Will remember it!

lollipopmother · 13/12/2008 14:29

Essie - I'd like a couple of pop-ins too if you have any going.

I definitely have 5 which I cut, I have a 6th pistachio one but the wrap had gone crinkly (it didn't leak for me but I reckon it's shot; it went on the radiator, but I don't think it would be fair to sell that in case it dies). I think I'm getting replacements for the bleached pumpkin ones too. I'll do a stocktake later tonight and post a proper list with colours!
Iestyn was (is!) skinny and small, and was in newborn clothes at 4 months still. So I reckon probably fine for your DD.

oopsIstuffedaturkey · 13/12/2008 19:51

Rusmum, I set you money for the pre folds. let me know when you post them thanks

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 13/12/2008 21:51

Essie Dp says i can have as many as are going spare He has just been and seen what my parents have bought me for christmas and is now feeling guilty!fwink] Will share with lolipop obviously! I would buy the wrinkly one too if available as could use the inserts as spares

lollipopmother · 13/12/2008 22:38

Essie - I totally don't get what you've done to them! You've just cut the flap off the inside of the front haven't you, not touched anything else and the nappy looks exactly the same from the outside?

4andnotout - Thanks for sharing hun, you did say you wanted them first though so I really appreciate it, I'll only take a couple though if your DP has said you can take as many as you like, you've got to take advantage of his good mood whilst it lasts!

Essie3 · 13/12/2008 23:20

Yes, they're still the same on the outside. I've put a picture on my profile now (amongst the photos) of a doctored pumpkin one, and an undoctored custard one.
It will work just the same without the flap, but I can sew the flap back on in a matching thread if you prefer (I do patchwork, I sew nicely!). I could also do contrasting thread, or the pumpkin cut off section onto a white pop-in in the true spirit of patchwork!

This is what I have, and you can fight it out...
Doctored ones:
1 coconut
1 duck egg
2 pistachio (1 crinkly)
1 pumpkin

I totally hadn't thought of using the booster as a spare - it's dead obvious, because you don't need to change the wrap every time. But I have enough pop-ins.

I may also have 2 additional pumpkin ones (undoctored), and 2 pumpkin night boosters. They're the ones where the dye has faded in patches. Looks for all the world like they've met with bleach, but they haven't, it's a faulty batch of dyed bamboo. I can confirm about them when I hear from the company.

Essie3 · 13/12/2008 23:25

Uploaded a photo, it was rubbish. So I've done another one, where I've put a different coloured soaker in so you should be able to see the contrast. The one with the blue soaker on the left has been doctored.

They're pretty all mix and match! Shame you can't buy the soakers separately.

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 14/12/2008 09:55

ESSIE lolipop can hae 1st dibs on colours and i'll have what is left as im not fussed about colours Would it be a lot of trouble to have the flaps sewn back on? If it would take ages dont worry.

ChristmasFlower · 14/12/2008 10:00

aaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww Essie - that's such a lovely picture, the angel one... is that your Xmas card this year? (sorry, nothing to do with nappies... though if you ever want to swap a pistachio one for a duck egg one let me know...)

TLESinChristmasStockings · 14/12/2008 17:41

Anyone want some bambino mio prefolds for £10 including postage?

2 Ellas house Bumhuggers for £10 including postage

ilovelovemydog · 14/12/2008 18:04

Evening people!

Notice namechange?

With brains, I'd be dangerous

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 14/12/2008 18:36

Hi all! I got to tr out a Nature Babies Stuffable last night -It's one of the nappies the local agent has lent me to tide us over until the replacement Teddiesarrive. I really like it, so think my stash is going to be increasing again Think they'll be handy for the long train journey to Scotland though (any excuse I know )

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 14/12/2008 19:11

I'm Essie at Iestyn being 13lbs at 6 months.......my little bruiser is not far off that at 6 weeks

Glad you have the pop in mystery solved. How are modern baby going to resolve this?

We are getting on great with cloth; tots are soooo absorbent. And Fin has calmed down on the pooing front and we are only getting one big poo every couple of days so aren't getting through as many nappies as we were. I'm loving the tots flexi wraps as well and have only had one leak of poo (but to be fair it was a very big poo), but he is nearly out of the size 0 ones already and the small nature babies I bought are too small.

I've ordered some new tots wraps and when they come I'll have some size 0 tots wraps and some nature babies (2 popper, one velcro) for sale if anyone is interested. All in "as new" condition.

treedelivery, I saw your name on a thread yesterday, but it didn't look bad at that point...what happened?

OP posts:
lollipopmother · 14/12/2008 19:56

4andnotout - I think there are 6 for grabs and the crinkly one for spares so how about I take 3 and you take three and also the crinkly one? Is that ok? Say if it isn't and i'll take whatever you suggest.

lollipopmother · 14/12/2008 20:00

Essie - How do you pronounce your DS's name, i've been wondering for ages. He is ever so tiny for his age, was he a premie?

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 14/12/2008 20:25

LOLIPOP a 50/50 split sounds good to me

MatNanPlusTINSEL · 14/12/2008 20:37

Hi Peeps,

I see the swaps are going well.

Love the name change ILLMD

ilovelovemydog · 14/12/2008 20:48

matnan - ridiculous, isn't it? DP thought it would be a hoot to go through 'history' and have a look at mumsnet. . So, although I'm not one to slag him off (at least on mumsnet ) thought if I deleted my registration, it would delete messages.

And once one deletes membership, old names cannot be re instated....

But I do love love my Ollie - lovely Golden Retriever boy...

DCs are being left with DP for the next 3 days (for the day only - am back in the evenings). Think he'll:

  1. run to Sainsbury's for disposables,
  2. use the supply of BunGenius or
  3. use flexitot/Sandy's/lollipop bamboo?
treedelivery · 14/12/2008 23:15

Hello all!

Did long day today, only 2 long day Sundays and 2 nights till maternity leave. OH bring it on!!

12Daisy - think I avoided an argument, I gave my opinion on something or other but think it was taken wrong way, but I explained myself again and hopefully cleared the cyber air! Felt a bit flustered as am totally anti confrontational.

Def off buying white vinegar tommorow, planning on muslins and prefolds for 1st week or so but they need a good softening.

lovemydog - or

  1. Run to sainsbury's for ready meals.
  2. put BumGenius on boil wash.
  3. All 3 with vests in between?

I speak of my own dh's total confusion over all things to do with under 16's and so you may have a much savier type?

TLESinChristmasStockings · 14/12/2008 23:18

Tree are you interested in the bambino mio prefolds i have ffp?

treedelivery · 14/12/2008 23:24
