Tree Delivery - CAT me your address.

thumbElf · 12/12/2008 00:06

So pleased for you Treedelivery - that takes the pressure off for Christmas and NEw year a bit.
Our CH went down yesterday evening - got a friend of a friend in to look at it this pm and our boiler is on its last legs. He's going to be using it as a hilarious anecdote amongst all his plumber/CH engineer friends - the boiler that works when you whop it on the side. Plus more rust inside than the rustiest rusty thing you can think of. I am concerned that repeated whopping it on the side will cause the rust that is holding the water pipe together to disintegrate, thus causing a flood, so have opted to go for new boiler sooner rather than later - expensive . Nothing like your quandary but bad enough.

Will stop hijack now - but nappies don't dry as quick when CH boiler doesn't work as bathroom and airing cupboard are fffffreezing!!

treedelivery · 12/12/2008 00:14

broken boiler truly an arse - and about £1000 aproblem!!

Think of your new super green efficient cheap boiler that you can use to wash your nappies and tumbledry to your hearts content.

Must get CAT, my email [email protected]

haven't got a tumble drier, always hang 'em up to dry; can't afford to get super new efficient combi boiler as might blow the rest of the CH up! higher pressure on system, could blow leak holes. Arse.

treedelivery · 12/12/2008 00:50

Ooooh I know exactly where you're at. Have an old terrace here, and origional feature sash windows [wind tunnels] and origional feature heating [Roman?] with same thing.

One of these days it's going to cost £3000 for a new system. Hopefully no day soon!

mybabywakesupsinging · 12/12/2008 01:40

veebee3 - little ewe are much thicker but have rounded corners. I've got a massive square (night nappy experiment) from twinkle which is very nice and thick; they do usual size too - have a look at them too?
Our thin and threadbare mothercare ones have been heavily used (especially as floor cloths when ds1 was/is toilet training)...

heather1980 · 12/12/2008 09:10

hello all, just introducing myself. i'm heather and am new to this cloth malarkie. ds is 8 weeks and we've been using cloth for 2 weeks and they are fab. we're using tots bots cottons with me airflow wraps. still in huggies at night. can anyone recommend a good but cheap night nappy? he's a big baby, weighing in at 13lb but has chicken like skinny legs and quite a heavy wetter. oh and still poos at every feed
thanks

Annvan posted the bumhugger to you today

lollipopmother · 12/12/2008 13:06

Essie Is that you trying to sell your pop-ins, or saying you've finally gone past 11pm without leaks? My DD went 12h again with no leaks but I could see the legs weren't that tight.

Treedelivery - Good to see you back!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 12/12/2008 15:08

TLES: Thanks for letting me know - look forward to getting it.

Btw, none of your ME wraps happen to be small, do they? And is that a Fluffle in one of your pics? Guessing it's not a size 2, is it?

TLESinChristmasStockings · 12/12/2008 15:11

Rachel, which pic is it in??? Head is spinning lol xx

and i think i have some small ME in the drawer and in the cellar lol

thebluefoxategreensocks · 12/12/2008 15:25

TLES: ahh, I'm silly - should have read the comment below pic, as it says it's a Minki. So never mind! So....wraps in drawer and cellar! You must really be overrun with nappies! Well, if you come across any small ME wraps (esp Airflow, but possibly Rikki too), do let me know. I think I could use a couple more Airflows for bump and getting some together for my sister's bump as well.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 12/12/2008 15:27

Rachel shhhhh have sneaked them into cellar and occasionaly bring them up lol one at a time then dp doesn't realise how many I have hee hee xx

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 12/12/2008 15:31

TLES What are the side snapping motherease nappies?

TLESinChristmasStockings · 12/12/2008 15:34

4calling, they are toddler nappies. the 6 together and the one on its own is a toddleease.

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 12/12/2008 15:42

What weight range do they cover, dd3 has huge thighs (i wonder where she gets them from ) so may suit them.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 12/12/2008 15:42

missed the whole favourite nappy chat so I'll add mine -

DP's faves are the aqua bambinex teddies, and the fluffles.

Mine - hard to say, I like my teddies and sandy's equally I think. Not so keen on my bamboo nappies.

4andnotout thanks for that! I'll see how it looks. DP doesn't like the bumhuggers though

Has anyone tried the Swaddlebees organic cotton velour nappies? So tempted to try one, but they're really expensive. If someone says they're rubbish then I won't bother - Anyone??

thebluefoxategreensocks · 12/12/2008 15:42

TLES: ahhh, so you'll be hoping he doesn't go looking in the cellar for something!

TLESinChristmasStockings · 12/12/2008 15:46

4calling

mother-ease - toddle-ease
This is essentially an Extra Large Sandy's designed for 35lb+ toddlers with extra absorbent layers to cope with the heavy wetting.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 12/12/2008 15:46

lol Rachel err yep! but i have put them under spare clothes lolol.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 12/12/2008 15:50

AnnVan: The Swaddlebees OCV is a very soft, comfy looking, and very trim nappy, but yet to see how it really works. I bought one last week and tried it for Benjamin (21mo) last night, stuffed with a bamboo terry square, but seems something went wrong, and only bits of the terry square were wet and we ended up with a very wet bed. But I think maybe I didn't have it poppered close enough on his legs, so perhaps we wet straight out of the leg hole. So will have to try it again and see what went wrong, as it should have worked. But guessing a proper insert (like microfibre) would probably be just fine...maybe I made it too stuffed for it to be snug on his legs.

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 12/12/2008 15:53

Annvan He will hate this one as it is really old but it will show you the size of a large
TLES Probably be too big for dd3 then as i dont think dd2 who is 3 even weighs 35lbs yet
I have lots of favorites in nappies depending on the dd and circumstances, ie blueberries good for showing the mums at toddler groups, bumhuggers good for nights etc etc

TLESinChristmasStockings · 12/12/2008 15:56

how about the other ME i have? the btp ones?

I know i have more than are in the photos.
