hmmm, maybe I should try one... I like my wool pull on, though haven't tried it all night yet (should be dry by tonight so hopefully...) it's very soft.... will check out stacinators....

rusmum · 22/01/2009 12:03

ok wool fleece and stacinators?????????????

I need educating here!!!!!!

swampster · 22/01/2009 13:12

Stacinator - but I had the very last leopard ones in the whole world - they breathe, popper-fasten like an airflow, go in with any old washing, line-dry in seconds but tumbling is just fine...

I don't use woolly wraps yet but plan too - my research is here!

so how do woll soakers work??? surely wee just seeps through??

swampster · 22/01/2009 13:21

I think, like fleece it really doesn't - we haven't had a single night-time leak since the amazing leopard-print Stacinators arrived.

Wool needs to be lanolised though - you can dissolve a small blob of Lansinoh in hot watter, let it cool, stick your woolly wraps in... and they get waterproofed.

It's what sheep use to keep dry - and millions of sheep can't be wrong!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 22/01/2009 13:23

ah, rus, that's where the magic is... it doesn't, doesn't smell, breathable...

so tempted by a stacinator now... do you think I could get away with the medium? DD's about 14lb, her thighs are 8 1/2 inch...

rusmum · 22/01/2009 13:23

lol will have to get my MIL to knit some. where get lanolisibg stuff from??

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 22/01/2009 13:25

just lasinoh nipple cream

swampster · 22/01/2009 13:50

Definitely medium then, Sunflower.

swampster · 22/01/2009 13:50

AND they do wool Stacinators too!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 22/01/2009 14:00

thanks, oooooohhhhh so tempting, might get it.... have to order a couple of ittis too though.... I really like woolywraps as well, they look quite thin and the hollow oak soakers too... but they're so pricey...

Isaidno · 22/01/2009 14:26

wool is naturally anti bacterial - I wash mine about every 2 mths! (only use it nights) I'm using left over lansinoh to lanolise.
I have also knitted a soaker, but i'm keeping it for summer as tights on top can cause compression wicking.

AnnVan · 22/01/2009 14:39

How often do wool wraps need to be lanolised? I'm kind of tempted by the wool stacinators, but don't seem to be any available in medium. Just typical...

lollipopmother · 22/01/2009 14:46

Treehuggermum website has Stacinators with 25% off atm, I got a lucky charms one, v.excited! There's not much choice though.

swampster · 22/01/2009 14:49

Treehuggers don't have many sizes in either... There don't seem to be many Stacinators anywhere - I just did a search! Nappyzone, what is going on? Is there a worldwide Stacinator shortage? I think we need to be told.

I'm wondering if I need some Holdens Landing Bedbugs for nights as they really do look lush. But I'm blissfully happy with my Baby Beehinds bamboos so I guess I don't. And they are REALLY pricey.

lollipopmother · 22/01/2009 15:28

I'm trying not to get over excited and buy a load of Night Notions because that's what I always do with nappies!! I've been looking for ages for Drybees night nappies 2nd hand and one finally came up so I snapped it up even though DP had just crashed the car and we thought we probably wouldn't be able to eat until Easter! That's addiction for you though eh!!

4andnotout · 22/01/2009 16:15

annvan £4.50 delivered for airflow as they are as new, i have at least 10 and dd4 is only 13 weeks so they havent had a lot of use.

lollipopmother · 22/01/2009 16:26

I have a used small airflow, plain, looks sort of pinky inside because it's faded but still works perfectly, will sell for £2.50 posted.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 22/01/2009 16:37

4 you should get a parcel tomorrow!

oh, if I press that add-to-cart button it's all your fault, you ladies!

I have a 4 yo for sale as well, even ffp? really good condition, nice with everyone but doesn't like his mummy anymore, anyone?

lollipopmother · 22/01/2009 16:45

Would said-four year old be able to get here by 7pm, and is he any good at cooking?!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 22/01/2009 16:55

if you call spreading Nutella on bread cooking...

lollipopmother · 22/01/2009 18:02

Hmmm, I was hoping he could cook our curry for tonight! When I say curry, obviously I just mean sauce in a jar!

I have a pair of wool shorties in the post, is that nipple cream what you're supposed to use then, is that the cheapest thing (it's expensive!!)

nappyzonehasastroppytoddler · 22/01/2009 18:18

i have been summoned? enlighten me

lollipopmother · 22/01/2009 18:33

I think someone was asking about the severe lack of Stacinator wraps on the market atm Nappyzone, they seem to be getting quite hard to find.

nappyzonehasastroppytoddler · 22/01/2009 18:58

ahhhhhhhhhh - well i think they are discontinuing the wool stacinator though have just emailed happy heiny owner to confirm this, the fleece are just to lovely and go out of stock at wholesale as fast as they come in then theres only ever newborn left and everyonr wants medium!! I have a few left of both but no mediums in either.....
