Essie - How should I pay you? I'd prefer bank transfer as I'm sick to death of paying Paypal fees, think they must've had about 50 quid off me by now!

AnnVan - Have you finished experimenting with the Bumhugger and Lovable yet hun?

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 15/12/2008 14:52

Lollipop - yes I think I have. Was going to contact you about it today actually! The Bumhugger is clean, but the Lovable needs a wash - so I can send them back straight after that. Or would you prefer me to wait until CHristmas postal chaos has passed and then send them? Let me know - Also email your address so I can send them back. Sorry for taking so long

WHat does everyone think of Bumbles - I used one last night and it is HUGE. Totally massive. DP definitely didn't like it and I'll admit I wasn't altogether keen myself.

4CALLINGBIRDSandnotout · 15/12/2008 15:14

essie can you email me about the pop in's so i can get your pp addy etc, would it be ok to pay on thursday? Have just withdrawn all my cash from my account to pay for dps pressie. Im in no rush to recieve them so no need to rush with the sewing
My dd2 was a tiny 6lb 7oz @39+6 and wore prem clothes for ages as she was so short She is still tiny now though.
I had dd3 (15 months) and dd4 (7 weeks) weighed today and they are 20.13lbs and 9.13lbs respectively

AnnVan - As long as you send them back using Recorded Delivery I'm happy for them to come back when you've done a wash. I think I'm going to sell the Bumhuggers as I totally can't be arsed with them, I've completely fallen out of love with them.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 15/12/2008 16:36

Rachel what an excellent photo!!!!

Now to pick your brains lol Zachary has really chunky thighs and I mean CHUNKY the ME wraps I use are large but they are leaving red rings at the top of his thighs....if i loosen them the leg part is very loose so i worry it will cause a leak..any ideas?

TLESinChristmasStockings · 15/12/2008 16:40

Lolli, regarding paypal....don't pay fee's send funds as personal that way avoiding fees at all costs.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 15/12/2008 16:42

Lolli, i meant to ask did the nappy fit? if not I can make a bigger one lol....and pass that one to someone with a small baby/

thebluefoxategreensocks · 15/12/2008 17:23

TLES: Maybe you could try size XL? I've preferred them on Benjamin for quite a long time, even though he still fits into large ones. But the XL are a lot more roomy (so cover more nappy area) and on the smallest setting they seem quite OK on this thighs. However, he doesn't really have chunky thighs anyway, but still might be worth trying. I guess I just like how high up the XL come, so I don't have to worry about bulky nappies becoming exposed around the edges!

MatNanPlusTINSEL · 15/12/2008 18:33

Essie that is a fab photo.

wenceslasmyeducation · 15/12/2008 19:30

AnnVan We like the Bumbles we've got, but they are the only shaped nappies we've used to date. They are pretty bulky, and I've got extra boosters to go in them! As we only use them as night nappies it doesn't seem to be a problem and I usually don't need to change him til the morning now we're using them, even though he still wakes at least twice.
DH prefers them to the terry squares, but I suspect that if I got something a little trimmer and fancier, he may prefer that even more!

Sorry about that! I got a weird preview message and went back and posted again. Doh!

lollipopmother · 15/12/2008 20:57

TLES - Airflows don't need to make contact with the skin to work, I would give it a go on the lower setting before writing them off, I have massive gaps and they've never leaked.
Also, the paypal thing - I always send as a gift but it always makes me pay the fees that way

wenceslasmyeducation · 15/12/2008 21:03

Oh yes, isn't that why they're called 'Airflow's? So the air can flow around the nappy?

treedelivery · 15/12/2008 21:04

Hello everyone

I'm going into my dd playroom [sounds magnificent - t'is infact spare bedroom] and so I may never be heard of again.

I am determined to re unite Barbie with her shoes, pens with their lids and clear a load of rubbish some unwanted toys out.

Wish me luck!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 15/12/2008 21:12

lollipopmother: Yes, I was going to mention that I thought it was OK to have a bit of gaps on the Airflows, but lately at nights I've been a bit worried if I had a slight gap around the legs that his clothes might make contact with the nappy & wick moisture out! Don't know if it would or not, but I try to be extra careful, as I really can't cope with wet clothes & beds in the middle of the night! But during the day I know I've never had problems with the legs being loose.

And re Paypal fees, gifted does work, but only if you have a Paypal balance in your account. If the money comes from bank account or credit card, then gifted means you get the privledge of paying the fees for the other person! Personally, I think if someone is selling something then they are liable for the fees, rather than telling the buyer they have to pay! If they're worried about the fees, then maybe include them in the price your selling an item for. But at least initially I felt it was rather cheeky when people told me to pay an extra so many pence for fees. If someone is only paying postage for something (as in ffp things) then it's quite understandable to pay fees, but guess I'd have thought fees were part of life for sellers! OK, I'll shut up - just my own opinions! LOL I just try to only buy when I have funds in my account, so then I can send gifted and neither of us have fees.

ilovelovemydog · 15/12/2008 22:27

What about Googlecheckout?

lollipopmother · 15/12/2008 22:36

I've got Googlecheckout but no one else seems to use it. I hate it when people say I should pay the Paypal fees yet the other option is paying by cheque (does anyone do that in this day and age?!), even a lot of shops won't take them any more.

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 16/12/2008 09:59

Lollipop can you email me your address - I'm probably going to go to PO today to post off faulty Teddies, so I could send your nappies back at the same time.
About gappy Airflows - I'm not usually bothered about them, but the other day I had a pretty bad poo leak - the lovable under a medium Airflow - maybe the gap with the Medium is still a bit too big?

tostaky · 16/12/2008 10:29

Hi there, quick questions for the specialists!
My son is only 4 weeks, yet the flexitots size 1 i have are soaked through within 1 hour... is that normal? I have the bamboozle too and they last longer, maybe 2 hours but i am really worried that as he'll grow older, he'll pee more and the nappies wont be absorbent enough.... I'm thinking when he'll turn 6 months... he wont be heavy enough for size 2 but i'll have to change his nappies every 15 minutes if i want his clothes to stay dry!!!
I dont want to put an extra booster in the bamboozle or the flexitots as they are already massive on him... help!!

TLESinChristmasStockings · 16/12/2008 13:07

Tot, I have some bamboozles and also find they are not as absorbant. and my ds2 is 15m old. I don;t know why this is as I use tots cotton nappies as well and they are very absorbant.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 16/12/2008 13:52

tostaky: What kind of wraps are you using? I bet I ask everyone this, but sometimes people think their nappies are rubbish and really it's the wraps! Never tried Flexitots, so can't really comment on them, but I think I'd agree with TLES that the cotton tots can seem more absorbant than the bamboozles!

lollipopmother · 16/12/2008 13:55

Tostaky - Is this your first time using cloth or have you used real nappies for a previous baby? The nappies do tend to get very wet which is a bit of a shock to start with if you've only ever used disposables.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 16/12/2008 14:21

Rachel tbh i hate the bamboozles, i have 5 and have hardly used them for this reason.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 16/12/2008 14:31

Anyone here used OneLife wraps? I had an impulse purchase of some today! But now I'm wondering how they compare with Motherease ones? They were ending on ebay with no bids (starting at 99p) so looked too good a bargain to pass up, but didn't have time to research them before the auction ended. Anyway, so I got 3 small wraps (nearly new) along with a roll of paper liners for 2.21 plus 2 pounds postage (someone bid against me in the end, so didn't get them for the 99p). Bit seemed a good deal (since they're 8 pounds each new, I think). But just hoping they'll not be too different from ME ones, as those are the only wraps I trust!
