I’ve seen these threads on here before and now I’m interested in hearing the replies for my own child.

I drew the aeroplane, my child did the rest - colouring in, extra squiggles on top, selecting the colours and where to put them. It’s felt tip.

How old so you think this child might have been?

Once we get a few replies I will come back and share the reasons I’m asking.

One of mine could have done this at 3-4 and one at about 6. They’re both functioning adults now and neither colour in for a living.

If only you had been more encouraging they might both be earning a fortune as colourers-in.

Why do people post these? Are they just fishing for compliments hoping everyone tells them their child is clearly a genius or the next Picasso?

We're never going to know are we 🙄

I was going to say 3 as it’s less advanced as my just turned 5 year old in reception. But the way you talk about it makes it seem like your Dc is much younger like 1, the way you talk about the squiggles and selecting the colours. If your DC is 1 they are very advanced at colouring.

It’s normal level for aged 2-5 though.

Personperson · 21/07/2025 20:43

I'd say 8 or 9.

MaryBerrysFannyHammock · 21/07/2025 20:43

Ooh, 42?

thaegumathteth · 21/07/2025 20:45

My 18 year old genuinely couldn’t do this now (dyspraxic)

My youngest probably could’ve done this at 2.5/3?

legoplaybook · 21/07/2025 20:46

I'd say 4ish but I've known plenty of 6-7 year olds who are terrible at colouring in.

countingdowns · 21/07/2025 20:48
