I’ve seen these threads on here before and now I’m interested in hearing the replies for my own child.

I drew the aeroplane, my child did the rest - colouring in, extra squiggles on top, selecting the colours and where to put them. It’s felt tip.

How old so you think this child might have been?

Once we get a few replies I will come back and share the reasons I’m asking.

Reception aged child - 4 or 5.

ThatMrsM · 21/07/2025 19:53

Both of my children colour like this, DS who is almost 5 and DD almost 3.5.

overmydeadbody · 21/07/2025 19:53

Yep anything from 2-13 or even higher

But looks like something most 4-6 year olds might do

PopThatBench · 21/07/2025 19:54

So many variables. My daughter could colour like this now if she was tired or bored or in a mood (she’s 8).
I’d guess 5 if they were trying their best?
They could be younger and artistic.
They could be older and struggle with fine motor skills.

I’ve no idea but I’d guess the child started in purple at the front of the plane where it’s very tidily in the lines, worked backwards getting a bit more careless, then red starting from the tail and finally the blue.
Good motor control but got a bit bored?

I'd say 7... but depends on mood!

BusWankers · 21/07/2025 19:56

Why does it matter?

2chocolateoranges · 21/07/2025 19:57

I’ve seen a few 3 year olds who can colour in like this but then I’ve also seen some 10 yr olds who colour in to this standard. It’s hard to tell.

Why does it matter?

The op’s going to tell us in a minute!

soupyspoon · 21/07/2025 19:59

Ive got really poor fine motor control so mine wouldnt even look as good as that

Be patient, OP is going to tell us.

Iminpatchinghell · 21/07/2025 19:59

4 or 5

Cheepcheepcheep · 21/07/2025 20:00

I think it’s not far off what my nearly 5yo could do if she was really concentrating.

My newly 3yo would be more likely to eat the paper than colour that neatly 😂
