Calling all Asian Mums/ South London

Hi,

I am expecing my first child in Feb 05 and as most of my friends dont have children really looking to get to know mums close to me for general chit chat & poss meet ups. My ethnic background is Indian although I was born in the UK and work in the city & am looking to go back to work after maternity leave.

Any one out there with a similar background?

Hi - Eid Mubarak to all.
I just went round to a friends for lunch then the oulaws in the evening. The food was ok at ils, not great and no way any near the standard of my mums! (even dh agrees!) I missed my mum and the good food that you're meant to stuff your face with! Anyway, got my family coming over tomorrow and dh is cooking so should be good.

lol sophieR! sai hope you have a great day today with your family. and that everyone else is having a good weekend. (what hideous weather though)we are ok. took dd out to wanstead in sling (practising for being at the airport) and it was great!!! she loved looking at the shops and people (from her pram i reckon she can only see the sky) and even fell asleep for a bit. it was lovely having her against me like that for the whole time. how are everyone else's children?? ameli how did ds enjoy eid? do you have any photos of him in traditional dress?

hi all, sophie r what did your twins wear on eid, bet they looked so sweet. i have gt pics of bubs i will email them to you guys. he was in his element, collected loads of eidi, and was fed sweet treats all day long! i was knackered cos there was loads to be done, big family. so loadsa cooking to be done, it was all absoloutly delicious, my mil wqas up at 5 to preapare everything. My mum did eid n friday, it was nice to see the kiddies enjoying themself. I have gt lodasa uni wrk to do , DUE IN FORTHE 15TH OF NOV , SO i u may nt see me that much n here for a while, happy travelling ananyamum, sai hope your well and see you guys soon...luve ameli

Hi. Thats great about the sling Ananyamum as you thought that dd didn't like it initially, didn't you? Glad she does. I'm sure it'll make things easier for you. Glad everyone had fun on Eid.
Dh did an excellent bbq for my family yesterday. He did jerk lamb and caribbean chicken with roast potatoes and veg. I made chutneys and salads. It was great. Then we watched all the fireworks going off. We can see so many displays from our patio. Ds loved them and wasn't even scared of the noise!

hello! hope everyone is ok and the weekend is going well. ameli, good luck with that assignment. almost over now, we must celebrate afterwards! had lunch and dinner dates yesterday and took dd along. amazed at what a social animal she is! she loves being the centre of attention. if she is old enough to be spoilt, i think she is....oops! today outlaws are coming over. aaargh, must do mad tidy-up! sai, will try and post when they are around! hope you and ds are well btw. so is anyone into x factor? shock results last night huh? i have to catch the re-run today..........

i have finally completed my assignment, woopppee! i am so happy (Does a little dance of joy) just need to hand it in 2mrw. Hope u guys are well and everything is cool with you. hi guys, have just watched an amazing 'one life' story. It was about a woman with two wombs! did you guys watch it, what an amazing and brave woman, first she was told she may never concieve then she has two babies, it was so sweet, im such a softie cried through most of it!...anyways,hope u r all ok,makes you realise what little miracles are possible in life, makes me so grateful that i have a gorgeous happy baby.....sorry to be an emotional mess, i think (hope im due on soon) which will explain my feelings watching this prog.well im off to cry into my pillow...amelixx

thursday is still ok with me, although i cant get threr until about 8.15, mak working late, wanna put bubs to sleep too before i go out. Please let meknow if this will be ok, if it has been arranged earliar i may have to join u later on...hope you are both well.

hello, ladies!! how are you all? we are in sunny kuwait. the flight was ok, dd was so good. she slept in the cot the whole night and wasn't phased by either the take off or landing. we are so relieved! how are you guys??? what is the weather there like? hope it is not too cold... my mum and i are going to buy a stroller now, yey. finally rid of that huge hideous red stripy monstrosity!!! miss chatting to you all so you must write! hope your babies are well. x

Hi! Glad to hear your flight went well Ananyamum. Your mum must be over the moon having you both there. You must be enjoying being spoiled.
Lucky you being in sunny climes.
Its freezing here. Dark and cold.
I took bubs for a walk the other day and had wrapped him up in warm clothes, hat etc but the poor thing has now got red chapped cheeks!
I need to put raincover on I think.

aw poor little thing. i know, it was such a hassle taking dd out the last few days i was there. i used to be so terrified that i hadn't dressed her up enough for how cold it was. definitely use the rain cover sai, it keeps atleast the wind out. guess what guys? we went to see dh's friend on friday and now dd's eczema is better controlled. i am too pleased. you cannot imagine how nice it is to see her fair cheeks again!! ameli how is ds and his weaning off the breast going? sai how are your outlaws? tell me how your party goes on the second! and a big hello to jay and paula x

hi guys, ananyamum,im glad your having a nice time and that things are cool over in kuwait. It has been bitterly cold here. Im glad lil ones rash has clearded up, i know you were really worried about it. bubs has been having one feed on the day now, max, bed by 8 and still waking at ninght ofr dudu, gna try giving him some water tonight, cos i know he cant be really hungry...well keep in touch and cant wait for you to come back, so we can have a get 2 getha..

wow ameli, looks like you are doing really well getting ds off the breast. and water is such a good idea. i tried to give dd some though and she just shoved the bottle out of her mouth!! things are good here. being royally spoilt by my mum. trying to convince her to come back with me!! hope your party went well the other day, send me some details!!

hi, the meal out was good. Have you ben to mastis before?, well there was a a meal and then they opened up the dance floor, there were around 20 gals there. So it was a good turn out, most were from simes way, from m&b group. Did speak to a few, although neva really gt numbers etc.Food was nice.Any ways enjoy being spoilt rotten!, your mum must be feeding you lots of yummy food mmmm, makin me hungry. anyways hope your chilling out to the max and that lil ananaya is ok. Cant wait for your rice eating party, have you picked out an outfit for ananya and yourself, bet she will look lovely. Well take care, chow for now...xx

hey girls!! so glad your party went well. oooo did you boogie?? i know what you mean abt time flying. i am here with everyone now and after i get back i only have two weeks with dd before i have to go back to work, she is almost 5 months, i cant believe your ds is 8! and h.a. is almost a year!!!! when is his bday again ameli? i want to convince my mum to come back with me but she doesn't want to (bcos of the weather and also outlaws are v rude to them, aaaargh!). we'll see. i hope she does, for our sake! ameli, you must be going up north soon for the big 1 yr party, how are preparartions for that going? you're very welcome btw, i hope you guys will be able to make it, it will be lovely to see everyone when i am back!

ameli, ma bought a baby sari for dd from india when wshe was there!! it is really quite cute. now i have to figure out what i will wear! was in next the other day and spent so long looking at the baby stuff that i completely forgot i'd gone in there to look for stuff for me! reminded me of sopieR's trip to brent cross. sophieR how are you? do you still frequent mumsnet? hope you and your babies are ok!

aww, baby sari that sounds so cute! would be nice if you wear same color, i love it when m & dd's wear the same, its so sweet. Well h.a, b'day is on the 12th dec, we goin dwn to in laws 2 days before. We will be back for his actual b;day on the 12th, we thought of takin him to london zoo, which im sure he'll enjoy. What is the dress code for your party? i mean are we required to wear indian/english or are you nt fussed? I do have a couple of nice outfits so i may wear indian. Im really looking forward to it. sai, How are you? i know what you mean about time flying,i just cant believe my lil baby is gna be 1, im sure im gna shed a lil tear on his 1st b'day....soppy thing. a.mum Is it hot in kuwait? dod you get much shopping done?

hope you all well. ananyamum are you enjoying your hols in kuwait? h.A. birthday went well yest, where has the time gone? cant believe hes 1!Every chipped in with the food prep etc so i mean all me and mac did was enjoy the day. sai, gt ure message, the trainers were from 'les'planet des bebes' in france. So i dont think you can get same ones again, maybe similar ones in next. Well im glad lil one gt good wear out of them, they are too cute. Hows things with you anyways? i am planning to go to france in feb, my friend lives there and has aopartment there so i will try to get R some more, funky stuff.
