hi all , yet another busy day my little boy has been ill last two days , before that little girl was ill for a week, just sat down now for the first time as both have gone to sleep .....this is my 'me' time for about 2 hours and i've just done the shopping online which i started doing a few months ago and is a blessing for me.i do take the kids for a ride in the trolley though they love going to asda !!!i think the teething really affects their sleep i had periods of time when both slept through and then both getting up 3 times a night , i think it all improves when they are 2 so only another year :-), i think physically would have been easier to cope with twins if i was younger ( i'm 37 ) , i remember the days of not sleeping and still going to lectures at 9am at uni but that was socialising !the twins have both such different personalities although they have been subjected to same environment , little girl eat daintily , whereas boy crushes everything and leaves a mess everywhere , hes laid back and chilled out , and doesnt show his affections ( sometimes i feel like his stepmum ! ) , she is cuddly and gives little kisses all the time and demands attention , and do they fight ..she wants everything he has so he then pulls her hair and bites her to stop her ..its so entertaining .

ananyamum · 22/10/2005 14:46

hello everyone!! welcome back musa and hello sophieR! wow it must be great to have twins, i'll bet you are super organised though, i am struggling with just 1! and she's not even crawling yet, oops! it is so interesting how you say how different their personalities are! i hope your little girl is better. and your poor ds sai, i hope he is better soon, poor little thing. baby show was ok. i think it was a bit much for dd though, so we came back a bit earlier than we thought, but it was fine. and and she went to sleep at 7pm yesterday and didnt get up again until 4am. i couldnt believe it. i hope it is routine rather than just overstimuation on the day! we'll see how we do tonight. ameli, hope you and ds are good. x

Sai · 22/10/2005 17:30

hi all and welcome back MUSA! We were just wondering the other day what happened to all the original people on this thread!
Its amazing, isn't it, Sophie, how your twins are so different. I wonder how much their sex determines their behaviour too. Ds always seems to go for the cars and trucks whenever we go to playgroups/friends even though he doesn't have any at home.
Did you pick up any bargains at the baby show, Ananyamum?
How is the househunting going Ameli?
Hope you're all well...

Sai · 22/10/2005 17:31

ps. got the outlaws round so am distracting myself on mn so I don't get too wound up by them!

ananyamum · 23/10/2005 10:17

lol sai, grt idea, i will sit with mumsnet on too next time outlaws are around! got a grobag from the baby show which has been a huge success btw. but no other deals as such. got a sling yesterday from babies r us, but dd hates being in it....oops!

ameli · 23/10/2005 12:15

May the force be with you sai! good luck ...hi ananyamum, how are you and bubs. Hope to see you on thur?

sophieR · 23/10/2005 21:09

yes ananyamum have to be mega organised otherwise it all falls apart :-) in terms of meals and sleep etc.I managed to get out shopping to brent cross for the first time in ages without the twins , OH was at home so i put them to sleep and they normally sleep for 3 hrs in the afternoon ( have spent the last 4 days trying to change them from two naps in the day to just one after lunch ) of course as soon as i left ds woke up ..ha ha OH was just getting settled for the afternoon to read the paper ..( cant remember the last time i did that !)mother in law was stressed that i had gone out without them and seems to think they might get affected by my absence .of course i ended up buying stuff for the kids and not for me although have not bought anything for myself for a long long time keep waiting to lose the baby weight and the rest but it hasnt happened yet ...so managed a whole 2 hrs today ...may as well shop online. thought about the baby show just a thought mind you as didnt think was feasible , wonder how it will be on my trip to see my friend in new york and then my sister in california next year..mmmmmm could be a very eventful trip ......

Sai · 24/10/2005 10:07

Congrats on getting to Brent Cross, Sophie! I know what you mean - I always end up buying stuff for ds everytime I go shopping!
Thats a shame about dd hating the sling, Ananyamum.
Its such a dreary day today. All grey and miserable. Ds is being a bit moany. I've got a mountain of laundry to sort out and lots of cleaning. I can tell its going to be a not-so-good day....
How's everybody else doing?

ameli · 24/10/2005 12:25

Hi all,

hope you are all well, sai, funnily enough we are viwing a house on your road this week! ananyamum hope you and
bubs are ok. looking forward to meet up, going shopping in green st 2mrw for eid clothes.take care allxx

ananyamum · 24/10/2005 14:00

hi everyone def. ameli, looking forward to seeing you and ds on thursday! good on you sophie, for making it to brent cross. i know what you mean abt baby things, i surf the net and find myslef looking at clothes and toys for her rather than stuff for me. i am completely hooked! the baby show was busy, and so so crowded, not the greatest place for small babies, ironically! hey sai how is ds and how were the outlaws? i didn't have the pleasure this weekend but i hear they will be here next they've asked for a framed enlarged photo of dd, but they have a camera and they never take photos of her, and yet they ask for our photos every time, why why???? sophie, you are amazing to be living with your in laws, i could never be that open hearted. i am just mean mean mean

ameli · 24/10/2005 14:58

hi sophie R,

I think it takes alot of patiance and generosity to live with the in laws, i mean every sitution is different. We lived with dh'parents for around four months, with all the family politics and adjusting to the new married life,i found it very very hard. In particular, privacy was a main issue. I mean there are expectations on hw you should act behave, bring up kids. Well i couldnt handle sum1 knowing my comeings and goings, arguments with hubbie as a result of things said........no i just could not do it, and really rate you for being brave enough.

ameli · 24/10/2005 15:00

Hi all ameli my ds turned 2 in september, im have just turned 34 can't believe how quick time fly's. I had him after 8 year's of being married a choice me and husband made really.

We made the most of travelling, and then decided better have some kid's. All the older's were doing my head in, as you know how they are.

Im planning my second one now, a bit scare thou, as i had a very bad delivery with my son. How old is your son?.

Sai · 25/10/2005 10:41

Good luck Ameli - it must be so exciting.
Musa - I know how you feel. We had ds after 5 yrs of marriage (by choice) and the comments and nagging I would get! You'd think I was committing a crime.
Do you go to any playgroups in the area?
Sophie - I think its lovely that you live with your mum and in-laws. Its so nice that they are being taken care of and aren't lonely.
I'm off to do my least favourite chore - supermarket shopping. Don't know why I just don't shop on-line.
Hope everyone is well.
