Calling all Asian Mums/ South London

Hi,

I am expecing my first child in Feb 05 and as most of my friends dont have children really looking to get to know mums close to me for general chit chat & poss meet ups. My ethnic background is Indian although I was born in the UK and work in the city & am looking to go back to work after maternity leave.

Any one out there with a similar background?

Still not getting much sleep but most of it is my own fault as my sister is over and we talked til all hours! stupid, I know. Alright for her, as she's still in bed!

hope you are recovering from your late night! will you manage to get some sleep today? at the moment i have three friends with babies, all of them are gorgeous and live in east london. ItS fun watching mine interact with theirs, he is very affectionate and always wants to hug and kiss them, sometimes he is overly attentive though! my friend has a daughter and we were jokin around saying we are gonna arrange their marriage, LOL.

Was really nice to meet you two - sorry - you four! Lovely babies! How are the little ones doing? Mine is really sleeping badly at night. I don't know why but he just doesn't seem sleepy. Just hoping it gets beter soon as am too tired today. Don't know how I'm going to get through the day....

mine was just not sleeping at all last night, good job my hubby took ver this morning because i am aslo soooo tired. My head is banging and i feel so crap, he is sleeping now. last night he was up every two hours, aaaaaaaaargh. you are not alone sai , you should see the state of me , i look like ive gone ten rounds with tyson!

needless to say, lovely meet up. thank you! sorry we were so squashed in the little cafe! you know i didn't watch the film yesterday because dd slept at 3am the night before and through the morning so i didn't have the heart to wake her and take her to the cinema. yesterday was slightly better: 12 am!! aargh. you two are supposed to be giving me hope about older babies sleeping early, but look at the three of us!!i wish i knew to sleep in more when i was pregnant!!!

Bubs was ok while I was out but had a bad night again. I so wished he came with a snooze button this morning.
Sorry, Ananyamum, but the sleep thing could be a problem for a while though it does get better! Its def better from when ds was 3 months and people have promised me that it does get better as he gets older. I live in hope.

haider ali went to sleep at 10.30pm and woke up every 4 hours, so last night was an improvement! we live in hope, glad you had a great time. Went house hunting all day yesterday, there are a few nice places out there. Today we are having friends over for dinner, bubs is in bed and im going to srt cooking nw. what do you think about this menu:

samosas

kulfi/icecream for desert
coffe and cakes feed back welcome!!

Hi Ameli. Menu sounds yum. Have you got chutneys, raita or salad to go with it? Thats the only thing I would add.

Outlaws not coming today. Dh would have cooked anyway. He loves to do bbqs and roasts any time of the year.I think he's doing a bbq for Eid too as my mum, eldest bro and family are off tp Pak so its just us and my other bro's, sis and her dh. Eid without my mum just doesn't feel like Eid
Ds slept ever so slightly better yesterday. He still woke up about 5x but went back to sleep quite quickly. I just can't be bothered to do anything today.

hey, def movie on thursday, you must come, dh has work so he will not be able to make it. sai i know you have a mum and baby class then but why not invite everyone over for the film instead? it will be nice to see everyone again. i was planning to come on the wed but i have this interview that day i will try and come next weke tho. and i have to look for some classes nearer wanstead too. sound good fun for the babies. hope your ds s are good. x

Hi guys. I've suffered another very sleepless night. Ds just couldn't settle and was up til 3.30! And he's been very awake today too (apart from his current nap)
I went to the group this morning and its a lovely place with nice new toys etc but its a fairly new one so not many people there today. Still, bubs enjoyed it and I got to shop afterwards too!
I think Jay and a friend want to go to the cinema soon but unfortunately not for Oliver!

Hi. Do you think I got any sleep last night??...well, the answer is NO! aaaagh its worse than yesterday! I have to go to Wembley today too. I'm armed with my strong black coffee. Hope the north circ is nice and clear all the way there...I think I'm still dreaming....
