I don't think our school is cliquey - the nursery was but I think it was because I worked there so I was seen as the "enemy"

I do stand in a group up at the school but like Jampot, all our kids are in Year 4, so have got to know each other fairly well. DS1 is in Year 2 and I have got friendly with a couple of the mums in that Year Group, and they come and mingle in our Year 4 group.

DD2 has just started Reception and I must admit I've not got to know ANY of the mums . I usually stand in my "usual spot" (same place for the last 5 years!) and then walk across to collect DD2 as she comes out then walk back to wait for the older 2.

Perhaps we're seen as the "cliquey" lot, - I hope not and if we are, then we don't have that intention. I will talk to anyone BUT I don't want to talk about their kids or mine.

I've made some great friends from the school playground in the last 5 years.

I don't find you boring in the slightest KS (fawns..). I have a problem with small talk as well. I can do it if I have to, but I can't bear it, and I think it probably shows through somehow.

competitionwinningCOD · 20/09/2004 14:23
