I’m chilling at the hotel now. The flight got delayed about two hours but otherwise all went well. I’ve been out for dinner and then some shopping at M&S foodhall, they already have Christmas stuff!

Hope all is well with everywench 😀

LetUsPrey · 21/09/2024 07:59

Morning wenches.

<tiptoes past Helen>

Urgh at delayed flight Wicked but hurrah for safe arrival and M&S Food Hall, erm, haul! Have an amazing weekend.

Usual Saturday I suspect with added meeting BestFriend.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/09/2024 10:54

Morning all. Not to worry about keeping quiet LetUs - the manshapes are incapable of not waking me up, so I was already awake. Though I did manage to get back to sleep - and then had weird dreams about living in a big house whose layout was odd and there was a doorway that had a door still, but was bricked off. I woke up feeling rather groggy and urgh.

Sunny outside - hope Wicked is getting sunshine too. My plans involve making jam and filling a hole in. Next door seem to be having a family party - lots of chatter and laughter and excited small-person shrieking.

I also have a tapestry to work on which I foolishly said I could do for someone. That sort if thing is less easy these days, unless I can get hold of those watch-makers glasses that magnify everything hugely!

Oh - christmas things in shops. Yes - a local shop has had xmas cards next to the halloween pumpkin display for a couple of weeks now [horror]

Hope everywench has a good day.

ApricotCrush · 21/09/2024 16:21

Afternoon. Nice morning but it’s just started to rain so we’ve been driven inside.

DH is still at it. He’s been installing outside lighting. Hmm

<shuts ears and eyes to all things Christmas>

Hope WW is enjoying herself.

We’ve run out of meals so we’re going out later.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/09/2024 18:05

Evening all. It's been a lovely warm and sunny day here, and the jobs that needed doing have been done. Result Grin
Adam Driver alert - he's in 'The Last Duel' on C4 tonight at 9:25

Hope Apricot meal out is nice and LetUs had a good meet-up and fancy and wicked too.

LetUsPrey · 21/09/2024 19:43

Evening wenches.

Lovely chat and browse with BestFriend this morning.

Westher’s been great most of the day but it started raining about an hour ago.

Or you need one of those huge magnifying sheets Helen. And a head torch.

Saw a trailer for that film so that’s reminded me to set it to record.

LetUsPrey · 22/09/2024 08:14

Morning wenches.

Usual Sunday ahead with added weather warning, although I think we’re on the edge of it. Other wenches not so lucky as far as I can tell. Stay indoors I say.

Have super days wenches.

FancyFancy · 22/09/2024 11:25

Morning, rather wet here so will be taking letus's advice.

Lovely meet up with ww yesterday - we walked to the pretty bits of town and in the evening made a cultural trip to the chippy 😁 We then used some fish to bribe Chonk and Floof (their dinner was late so they were hungry) and ww managed to persuade Floof to eat from her hand 😯

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/09/2024 12:05

Morning all (or it was when I logged on). No rain here yet, and hopefully not until my washing is dried.

LOL at fish-bribery for Chonk and Floof. We haven't got much in the way of plans. DH is meant to be prepping tea, then I'll be making tomato soup (we have a glut) and stewing up the windfalls for the rest of my life. There's also more work needed on the soakaway that I was working on yesterday. It never stops Confused

ApricotCrush · 22/09/2024 17:09

Afternoons. Chucking it down all day, but it doesn’t matter. Terrible thunderstorms and roads flooding back home apparently.

Lovely to hear about Fancy and WW’s meet up and Floof eating out of her hand. Smile

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/09/2024 19:15

Evening, we had rain briefly, so I ran round and got the damp washing in - then it brightened up again so I put it all back out. I think there's been some fairly heavy showers about, but not here. I think we're expecting more tomorrow.

No tomato soup was made in the end but everything else got done, so hurrah!

Hope that no-one has got too wet today. <cbf> at it being Monday tomorrow. Can't we just have a full week of weekends for once?

LetUsPrey · 22/09/2024 20:04

Evening wenches.

It rained. A lot. But I reckon we’ve had it lucky compared to some. DS1 and his girlfriend came for a visit which was lovely.

Awwww at Floof eating out of Wicked’s hand. And quite right that a visit to a chippy is a cultural trip! Hope Wicked’s enjoying her trip.

It sounds like you did plenty Helen. Lots of weekends sounds amazing. I am off until Wednesday though so that’s like an extra weekend.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/09/2024 07:32

Morning all. It's grey and uninspiring out there, though not cold <yomps round the garden wearing t-shirt>

Hope everyone has a good day of chilling out. (Apart from me - I must squish my nose to the grindstone and not get distracted by the internet.)

LetUsPrey · 23/09/2024 08:08

Morning wenches.

Mega weird dreams so a restful sleep did not happen.

Dull and grey here. Physio this morning, then a few errands in town, and then whizz round the house having a tidy. Then nothing but knitting and crochet.

Have lovely days wenches.

<passes some pants to Helen>

ApricotCrush · 23/09/2024 16:52

Afternoon. Dull and grey here too. We’re nervous about going home because a lot of the roads on the way back are prone to flooding. Will see what it looks like tomorrow.

In other news, I’ve cut my thumb, probably while washing up, and it’s affecting the knitting. At least the yarn is red. Grin We’ve got some plasters somewhere, I should go and look for one.

LetUsPrey · 23/09/2024 20:36

Evening wenches.

Oh flipping heck Apricot at potentially flooded roads. Everything crossed it’s either not flooded in the first place or has at least receded. Nooooo at injury almost preventing knitting.

I’ve had quite a restful day and hope to have similar tomorrow. Thinking no further ahead than that.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/09/2024 21:23

Fingers crossed for the drive home Apricot - you should get a Dr to look at your fingers.

Happy chilling LetUs Grin

Morning wenches.

Feeling very relaxed for some reason…. Grin

Rain again here but we don’t seem to have anything serious so am grateful for that. Health check this morning, hair cut this afternoon, reading and knitting in between.

Safe journey back Apricot.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/09/2024 07:25

Morning all. It's damp and gloomy outside with spots of rain. We've had a couple of mm. in total, do nothing to write home about. I have to go out and do exercise thing this morning, which I'm feeling spectacularly unmotivated about Grin then doing the taxi thing for various family about before I can get down to work.

IdiotKitty is in idiot mode. Intelligent cat is snoozing.

Have a good day all!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/09/2024 15:37

Having a day off today to rest after my vacation Grin Had a lovely time at Chateau Fancy, the hostess is quite fabulous. The highlight of my vacation was when Floof ate cod from my hand Smile

Can really recommend Highgate Cemetery, I took a guided tour and the tourguide even mentioned Ink Black Heart and asked if any had read the book and there was a few of us Rowling-fans there Smile I'm definately going back and spending a lot more time there. Beatiful place. We even saw a fox on the courtyard acting like he/she was on Top Model or something, posing for the cameras Smile

I also went on a Jack The Ripper tour on one evening and my feet hurt so bad after that. The guide talked a lot about how life was for the people living in Whitechapel, mainly about the women's situation, quite interesting.

I may have done a bit of shopping, one or two things Blush

LetUsPrey · 24/09/2024 19:22

Evening wenches.

Those tours sound interesting Wicked. I’ve done a couple when I’ve been - one with LittleSis, one without. Obviously Floof would be the highlight. One or two things? Mmhmm.

Health check gave the all clear on the whole. Have been knitting, but also finished The Running Grave. I’d read a bit up to a day or so ago but got going with it again. I’d got to a particularly tense bit when the doorbell rang (hairdresser) and I got a bit of a fright Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/09/2024 21:42

Evening all.

Glad you had a good break wicked. You should visit a few other cemeteries as well - Highgate is one of seven - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnificent_Seven_cemeteries Fancy and I had an enjoyable mooch around Brompton Cemetery a couple of years ago. <arf> At 'one or two' things of shopping Grin Is a 'thing' a specific measurement - like a tonne? Grin

Yay for an 'all clear' health check LetUs

LetUsPrey · 25/09/2024 07:24

Morning wenches.

There was a BBC radio thing years ago which has been available recently on BBC Sounds, stories about people buried in one of the seven cemeteries. Sexton’s Tales with George Cole playing the sexton. Not sure if it’s still available.

Gloomy and quite chilly this morning, not helped with back to work urgh.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/09/2024 07:45

Morning all. Gloomy and meh here as well - clouds and suchlike.

However, I have a contender for bonkers dream of the year. Not entirely sure what was going on - at a party in a house with some work people (talking about moving house and broadband - so far, so not-very-notable. I woke up just after the bit where I was in the hallway with WorkColleague, while Andrew Flintoff was describing rugby positions and the playing styles of different teams using cars as analogies. France, apparently, has three fast cars out in the backs - one was a porsche and I don't remember then others. Also, Brad Pitt joined arrived mid-conversation and commented on the people who were playing cricket outside, hitting the ball against their house. WTAF brain?!

On that note... have a good day all. Hope work's not too horrendous LetUs and that Apricot is safely back home.

FancyFancy · 25/09/2024 09:14

Morning.
Aw thanks ww , I always say wench guests are the best guests. Floof agrees and is most flattered at being deemed the star turn 😁

Glad the health check was ok letus and hoping apricot's drive home was ok.

Bonkers dream Helen and am impressed you can remember that level of detail.

Ho hum, off to work. Fingers crossed the IT is working better than yesterday.
