Afternoon. We got back last night. No problems on the roads. I’ve done a wash load this morning, put it out and it rained. Hmm It’s also very cold in the house. We had the heating on in the caravan but I refuse to put it on here until October.

So glad you had a lovely holiday WW, the tours sound really interesting. I haven’t even read Ink Black Heart yet, let alone Running Grave.

That really is a dream and a half Helen. Grin

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 25/09/2024 20:21

Evening wenches.

Bit parky isn’t it? Also trying to keep the heating off until next week but am close to thinking sod it and putting it on.

That is an excellent dream Helen Grin. Proper bonkers

Raining here too, again.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/09/2024 22:07

Evening all. We have been out for a very nice meal, and now we're back. And I'm tiiiiiired and I've got a sore throat. <tiny violin> We have sort of drizzly half-hearted rain, and also chilly.

Hope that work IT was sorted Fancy

LetUsPrey · 26/09/2024 07:27

Morning wenches.

Not keen on this getting up whilst it’s still dark malarkey.

Hope your IT was behaving Fancy. We’ve got an entirely new system going in in a month or so. There are some people who still can’t grasp “file, save as” so I see tricky times ahead. <restocks the bar>

Are you feeling okay this morning Helen? Paracetamol, and TCP for gargling are just over there in case.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/09/2024 07:34

Morning all. it's gloomy outside and we've had rain overnight. The sore throat has added sniffles now - dooooom/woe is me, etc etc. TCP and paracetamol are def. the way forward (and also giving today's exercise class a miss, to spare the other participants.)

Eeek at the new IT system LetUs - though if you've got people who can't cope with 'save as', then will a new system actually make them any worse than they already are?!

ApricotCrush · 26/09/2024 16:51

Afternoon. Showers with a bit of sun in between, but very cold. We’ve caved and put the heating on. Hmm

Hope you don’t feel too bad Helen.

LetUsPrey · 26/09/2024 19:44

Evening wenches.

I too put the heating on briefly this morning before I went to work. It’s been throwing it down most of the day. Might be Big Coat weather soon.

Hope you’re feeling better than you were Helen. That’s actually a good way to look at it as far as the IT’s concerned, although I fear the answer will be yes, they can be worse. No matter, it’s unavoidable so onwards etc.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/09/2024 21:13

Evening all. Still sniffling. Will have lemsip at bedtime.

LetUsPrey · 27/09/2024 07:29

Morning Helen.

Hope a night in the sick bay has done the trick Helen.

Quite breezy here this morning but at least it’s Friday.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/09/2024 07:32

Morning all. It's raining. Idiot kitty is bored, but doesn't want to go out and get wet. But he's boooooooooored. BOOOORRRREEEEDDDD!!!!! <eye roll>

Must crack on - hope everyone has a good (and dry) day. TFI, etc!

FancyFancy · 27/09/2024 12:58

Afternoon

IT change ahead letus? Start stocking up on the vodka.........

Glad you're back safely apricot

TFIF indeed helen, I hopefully the sniffles will not impact on your weekend.

Lots of rain here yesterday & overnight, not a pleasant drive home with lots of water on the roads. Hoping for a drier couple of days - Chonk & Floof have not been impressed. They got a bit soggy the other evening & had to be towelled down - they didn't seem to mind it at all, but Chonk in particular got very spooked when I flapped the towel too suddenly - he really is skittish!

ApricotCrush · 27/09/2024 17:04

Afternoon. Much rain overnight, but it’s been sunny this afternoon. I did try to sit outside but it was too cold.

I’ve finished sewing up the previous project so only have to press it. It’s a summer jumper so won’t be worn this year but it’s there for next summer.

Hope you feel better soon Helen.

Poor Chonk and Floof getting soggy.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/09/2024 19:34

Evening. I'm still snotty and sneezy and stuffed up <niagw>

I'm meant to be meeting friends for lunch tomorrow, and feel I should probably warn them/let them tell me to sod off, since one of them has a baby staying. Plus I have to taxi Dad to a cataract operation, so I'll be all masked up to try and avoid infecting him. FFS, the timing! That will be my weekend anyway - Oh, and DS is having another 'invasion of the teens' day.

Yay for sewing up the project Apricot, and <snort> at skittish cats. IdiotKitty is ridiculously jumpy as well. Any unfamiliar noise - like a piece of paper sliding across the wooden floor, and he's up and ready to run!

LetUsPrey · 27/09/2024 21:22

Evening wenches.

Oh Helen, that’s rotten timing Sad Everything crossed for a speedy recovery which has to include time to rest. No point me being stern about it because we all know it’s virtually impossible.

Urgh at shitty weather and driving conditions Fancy. Please tell me that Floof was even floofier after towel drying. Lie if you have to.

Well done on the sewing up Apricot. I’ve just remembered I bought some buttons earlier this week so I can finish a baby bolero. Forgot to sew them on so that’s been a good reminder. I’m on with a project that I’m not hugely enjoying but I’ve committed to it and will NEVER make it again.

Sad news re Dame Maggie Smith. As well as the HP films and Downton and the many other things, I loved her as Charlotte Bartlett in one of my favourite films A Room With A View (one of my favourite books too).

LetUsPrey · 28/09/2024 08:30

Morning wenches.

DH’s alarm went off and I was about to say something to him about him not going to the gym on a Monday again, and then I saw the time and was panicked that I was going to be late. Then saw a message from a friend where she said Saturday. Honestly it took my brain ages to realise.

And it’s sunny!

No firm plans although DH is making noises about getting the loft emptied and tidied.

Hope you’re feeling better Helen.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/09/2024 08:40

Morning wenches. It's cold outside, but sunny. Hurrah. I'm still feeling snotty, but less 'bleurgh' so that's good. There's a load of washing on and I ought to get cracking on processing the windfalls. I have very little desire to do that though, so I'll fart about online and read my book instead...

ApricotCrush · 28/09/2024 17:10

Afternoon. Quite a nice day, should have done some washing.

Hope your Dad’s cataract op went well Helen. I had my right eye done years ago, the other seems alright for now. DH has had both done. It makes such a difference. He had to ask his mates where his golf ball had gone. Grin

Yes LetUs, sad about Maggie Smith, I loved her in Downton. Also The Lady in the Van was wonderful.

LetUsPrey · 28/09/2024 20:39

Evening wenches.

Sounds a more than reasonable plan to me Helen.

Lady Violet was epic Apricot.

One of the best films of all time - Galaxy Quest - was on earlier so I watched that.

Have had a bath, almost fell asleep. Now I’m watching Strictly.

LetUsPrey · 29/09/2024 08:04

Morning wenches.

Dull and grey but feels warmer inside than it did yesterday.

Usual Sunday ahead.

Have great days wenches,

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/09/2024 15:36

Morning all. It's dull and not very inspiring outside. Though the sun has just broken through. I'm still snuffling, but mostly ok.

The cataract operation seems to have gone well - fingers crossed and all that. DS has a gaggle of teens over watching films and playing x-box. I have been stewing apples and being a taxi, and that's about it really. DH woke me up at 6am having a spider night made so I'm a bit tired, so we got back to sleep afterwards.

ApricotCrush · 29/09/2024 16:16

Afternoon. Dull and a bit miserable here too.

Glad the op went well Helen.

Nothing going on here. Have a good evening all.

LetUsPrey · 29/09/2024 20:26

Evening wenches.

Nothing exciting here either. Heavy rain and wind have arrived. Had a bath and started Richard Osman’s The Last Devil to Die. Only got out of the bath after I’d topped up with hot water twice.

Good news re operation Helen.

FancyFancy · 29/09/2024 21:54

Evening

Loved her in those two things also apricot, outrageously funny. Have just finished watching Ted Lasso & so am in need of another frothy series to watch. May do a Downton rewatch as a homage.

Glad you're on the mend helen & that your Dad's cataract op went well. I thought of him today as I admired that dark fuchsia today. I moved it earlier in the year as it was getting swamped by the hydrangea, so it has been even later to bloom than usual. It never grew that much this year, but does seem to like its new position & has a few very impressive flowers on it at the moment.

Have had a lazy-ish day - did a bit of tidying up in the garden & some dull admin after a much needed looooong lie in. Temperature has really dropped quick in the house - not much sun & pretty windy out there. More heavy rain forecast overnight. Joy.

You may think of Floof like this letus

Morning wenches.

That’s almost exactly how I pictured Floor Fancy, just not as pink Grin

Rain, so much rain. And the new roadworks start today so a proper Monday all round.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/09/2024 08:36

LOL at floofy Floof Grin PinkPanther is fab.

It's dark and wet and windy here - very much hibernation weather. Several things have blown over in the garden, so I've put them back up. One pot is already at a drunken angle again, leaning on something else this time. <le sigh>

Hope the roadworks aren't too bad LetUs Sad

Have a good day everyone. Or at least a bearable one.
