Nice new thread Fancy. If it's any consolation, no-one hid any HBFs for me either. Glad the trip went well and C&F were pleased to see you home again..

Sounds like everyone has had a good day - very exciting about the new caravan Apricot - I'm sure it will be fiiiiiine. If a little odd to have a different one.

Illing chicken is one of the new ones, and has the chicken version of thrush - it's a bit ick. So this morning I spent ages fencing off part of the run so she can be in isolation with her little hutch. Popped her in, and a couple of minutes later she was on the roof of her hutch and flapping over the fence. FFS, but also LOL. Still, she's in isolation overnight anyway, and having daily baths - Pop your hen gently into the (warm) water and allow her to soak her bottom – she may be a little unsure at first, but once she gets used to it she should enjoy it, and may even nod off! Yeah, right. She's very much not enjoying that. Oh well. Hopefully I can get it cleared up - and then hopefully the minor prolapse will sort itself out while we're at it.

There has also been more chainsawing today, though DH did it this time. A few dead things got cut out of the hedge, and other trees thinned out.

A busy day. I shall snuggle up in this nice knitted blanket and have a snooze.

LetUsPrey · 02/04/2024 07:48

Morning wenches.

Excellent new thread Fancy. Pleased your visit went well.

My dad kept chickens a few years ago. Nothing like walking into the kitchen when visiting and seeing your mum giving a chicken a bath in the kitchen sink.

Back to work today. Absolutely very much do not want to. Even dreamed about work. Was given a particularly arduous task to do, then found out “oh X had been asked to do it but she said she didn’t want to”. Oh can I say no then? No. How very like real life.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/04/2024 08:07

Morning all. It was dry, but looking out the window, there's been some rain and the weather looks a bit meh.

<Paddington Bear stare at LetUs work> I bounced out of bed early to go to the morning exercise session, because it's only stopping for one week over Easter. Except it's not on this week - it's next week that I have to remember to go. <rolls eyes at self> Still, animals are all fed, etc.

Hope everyone has a good day.

LetUsPrey · 02/04/2024 19:41

Evening wenches.

Relatively quiet day compared to the usual today. Still tired though.

I suppose at least you were up and about early Helen.

I should try to get an early night.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/04/2024 20:13

Just popping in to let everyone know I'm still alive. My life is so boring, I just work and watch TV, nothing interesting to post about.

LetUsPrey · 02/04/2024 21:22

Ah Wicked, never underestimate boring. Get up, go to work, come home, knit whilst watching tv, go to bed. Sometimes jazz up the routine by bath’n’book. And if I’m feeling particularly daring, I’ll do some jigsaw.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/04/2024 21:37

Adulting is intrinsically boring and tiring. That's why we need HBFs. I have been very busy today with lugging stuff around for Dad and taxi-ing DS, herding chickens and then eventually trying to get a bit of work done.
BoringOfficeJob tomorrow - find out what needs to be tidied up from year end.
I should get a sensibly early night.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/04/2024 07:15

Morning all. Morning are very relaxed when I'm not trying to get DS out the door - even with having to get myself out the door. Obviously, this may go horribly wrong that I'll be too chilled and run late myself Hmm.

It's murky outside. Lots of rain overnight but not at the moment; plenty of clouds though.

LetUsPrey · 03/04/2024 07:45

Morning wenches.

This is true re the don’t have to chivvy DS, get too relaxed myself, oh crap look at the time situation. Same here with DS2 not being at college.

We apparently have thundery showers forecast for later. We shall see/hear.

Short day woohoo which is just as well as particularly crap sleep. <passes self a grip>

Have super days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 03/04/2024 15:17

Afternoon wenches. Thanks for the lovely new thread Fancy.

Well, we came back home yesterday afternoon to find that the internet and phones are down. The fact that Severn Trent are working up the road may have something to do with it. Hmm It’s still not working but I’m currently accessing it through DH’s phone, which I’ve only just discovered works.

DS had a significant birthday yesterday and we went out to big city to a Japanese restaurant which I’ve never been to before. Absolutely amazeballs! The chef cooked all the food on a huge hot plate at the table and had his own ‘cabaret act’ which was very entertaining. We didn’t get back until after midnight and today I’m knackered.

Hope poorly hen is recovering. Bathtime sounds fun. Hmm

Also hope your day hasn’t been too bad LetUs.

Glad you’re alright WW.

LetUsPrey · 03/04/2024 19:24

Evening wenches.

Tiiiiiiiiiireddddddd.

That restaurant does sound amazing Apricot. Belated happy significant birthday to your DS.

It would be sensible for me to have an early night. Let’s see if that happens.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/04/2024 21:51

Evening all. FML, work was mental. Year end and year start carnage with a side order of lots of people wanting a bit of my time, while I tried to identify and fix (and apologise for) the inevitable cock-ups. <le tired sigh>

Hurrah for the awesome restaurant chez Apricot

Trundles up to hayloft and flakes out next to LetUs

LetUsPrey · 04/04/2024 07:34

Morning wenches.

Headachey and tired this morning. Everywhere’s wet, the forecast is rain forever and there’s gusty winds at the weekend. Harrumph.

<snuggles up to Helen in hayloft>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/04/2024 08:29

Morning all. One of the cats vommed on a throw last night so I washed it and hung it out to dry on the line. Woke up to the rain tipping down this morning, so the throw has had an extra wash, and I got soaked feeding chickens.

IdiotKitty is very idiotic because he wants to play outside, but not in the rain. It's stopped raining for now, but he's still indoors doing the plaintive mew that means "I will kill you if you get too close" and batting at anything that catches his eye.

I heard that the weekend will have hot sunny spells (between cloudy spells, with wind).

ApricotCrush · 04/04/2024 16:02

Afternoon. Cloudy and windy here, but good for the mountain of washing I have from the caravan. I've also done a Lidl shop.

I'm getting headaches a lot LetUs, I think it's the seasonal thing I get.

We have DGS here today and he's boooorrred. DH took him out with him to do some bits and pieces this morning, but it's so difficult to think of stuff for him to do apart from screens.

IdiotKitty is a character. Yay for hot sunny spells, will believe it when I see it. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 04/04/2024 20:48

Evening wenches.

For a short week this has already been a long week and it’s not finished yet.

Is IdiotKitty’s mewing also “make that wet stuff stop falling, I want to go outside”?

<passes paracetamol to Apricot>

As far as I can see, we are due wind and rain at the weekend. <harrumphs at April>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/04/2024 20:59

Evening all.

Can you get DGS cooking Apricot? Or knitting? Jigsaws? I feel for you though - entertaining larger children isn't as exhausting as small ones, but just as difficult in other ways.

IdiotKitty was booooooooooooooooooooored (Toddler whining style) and when he's bored he's particularly stupid. IntelligentCat is snoring behind me on the sofa. SickyChicky is still in night time isolation and having daily bath/ointment treatments.

Rain on and off all day today, the throw is still out on the line being wet. The laundry is draped about the house being damp. Freelancing was done and I seem to have picked up another project Confused.

LetUsPrey · 05/04/2024 07:30

Morning wenches.

Poor SickyChicky, although the night time isolation and baths sounds alright.

<sets CloneHelen to work>

Raining again/still. Trying to look on bright side that it’s Friday.

Have super days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 05/04/2024 16:37

Afternoon. Nice day, no rain, so more washing done.

Nothing else going on, I can’t seem to bring myself to finish sewing up the unfinished jumper and I have no idea what I’m going to do with the new one I started at the caravan.

To be honest I don’t think I’ve recovered from Tuesday. Sorting out the caravan for the changeover, packing, coming home, unpacking and then going out in the evening on the train was too much I think, although we did have a lovely time.

Have a good evening all. Wine

LetUsPrey · 05/04/2024 21:33

Evening wenches.

That does sound a lot Apricot. You definitely deserve a rest. Feet up this weekend if you can.

Went to work, came home, finished unraveling a pair of (badly fitting) fingerless mittens to knit up into a better fitting pair of fingerless mittens, collected DS2 from SportingActivity, and am now eyeing up what’s left of an Easter egg.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/04/2024 21:38

Evening all. TFI - went on until nearly 7pm, but on the plus side, I'm off next week, so someone else can pick up the mess that may or may not exist once the official finance bods have done their stuff.

I'm sure other stuff has happened, but no idea what. I did have a bit of a lie-in, which was nice. DH work up early for once and went to sort out animals. That left me with the bonkers dream about keeping a horse in the bedroom and saying that we really needed to let it out to eat something. Hmm That would be why I didn't get round to posting anything this morning then - I had a lie-in. (This has just dawned on me!)

Now I need to do stuff...

Have a lie-down on the chaise Apricot - I'm sure a HBF will be with you shortly to tend to your needs. <ylt>

LetUsPrey · 06/04/2024 07:37

Morning wenches.

Very important to make sure your horse is properly fed Helen.

Doesn’t seem to be raining right now but the storm’s a-coming.

Plan today is NearbyVillage book shop and charity shop, then house stuff, then knitting.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/04/2024 09:34

Morning. It was lovely and sunny when I woke up, so washing is on the line and in the machine. Needless to say, it's clouding over. But it's windy, so I live in hope that things will dry.

I'm sure that lots of things need to be done, but no idea what, so I'm going to sit on the sofa and do sudokus. Seems reasonable to me Grin

Wicked - are you still being snowed on?

ApricotCrush · 06/04/2024 16:12

Afternoon. It’s a tad windy out there. In spite of double pegs one of my sheets blew off the line. Hmm

I waited on the chaise Helen, but no HBF turned up. Unreliable!

Hope everyone‘s had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 06/04/2024 20:48

Evening wenches.

Sofa and sudoku sounds extremely reasonable Helen.

Very windy here too. DH has had to try to secure one of the fence panels that looked in danger of blowing out. Not sure if it’s been successful. Chucking it down now.

Did bookshop and many many charity shops in NearbyVillage and LocalTown looking for books by certain authors for me and NC. Of the I would say a dozen charity shops, only two had the books in alphabetical order. One had them sorted by colour. Didn’t have much success either.

Tired now.
