Nothing much going on here, I'm mostly waiting for it to be Friday and my trip to London. Can't wait to get away for a while, really looking forward to the hotel room and the breakfast Have booked a guided tour at Highgate Cemetery and also a Jack The Ripper tour. And hopefully I'll catch a glimpse of Chonk and Floof when I visit Chateau Fancy

Work was there and so was I.

Unacceptable is exactly the right word Apricot. And yes, it’s noticeably cooler as soon as the sun goes in. I was sitting with the door open this evening, quite pleasant but then dramatic drop in temperature.

Evening all. Shockingly, DS did take my glasses to be fixed. I did text to remind him and he was rather grudging about it (he had to get a bus 15 minutes later than usual - the horror!) But he did it.

It's been warm and sunny outside, but cool inside, and then very hot in the car. Guess who was dressed for the 'cool inside' part and then wilted for the other bits. I just kept forgetting.

Ooooh, your trip's nearly here then wicked - exciting! I'm sure Chonk and Floof will be pleased to see you. They may express their pleasure by hiding under Fancy's bed of course, but you know that's cat-speak for 'adoration' - yes?

Also, I've just seen this in my email - Fancy - fame and fortune beckon?!

It was cloudy this morning and daaaaaark. I woke up before the alarm and though it must be 5am, not 6am (FMAppallingEyesight) but it was actually 6am. dooooooooooom.

Then I have flailed about doing exercise and taking DS to the bus and not taking Dad to the opticians (because that's next week). So now I need to crack on with work (and also contact the library to see if they've found my library card which I had there last night until I went to leave, at which point it had dissolved into nothingness and is nowhere to be found. FFS, etc.)

Afternoon. Lovely day and very warm in the sun. More washing dried and put away.

We’re going to the caravan tomorrow, no idea how long for, it depends on the weather really, but it looks good for the weekend.

Work steadily disappeared into the toilet today. And it’s getting dark more quickly (because seasons and stuff) so I’m limited on what knitting/crochet I can do of an evening especially seeing as the current project is using red yarn. Harrumph.

Evening. My library card reappeared from the glitch in the matrix (I checked my pockets multiple times. And then it was just suddenly in my pocket at lunchtime ) Very odd.

Today has been busy, but also full of brain fogginess which was very tedious. DS has a new lego set, so he's a happy bunny

I fear all this excitement over Chonk & Floof will lead to disappointment! Although with the rate he is shedding, I may be able to rustle up enough hair from the furniture to fashion a Floof-a-like to stand in for the real thing - who will be hiding under a bed - when visitors are here.

So basically a Floof clone? It starts with a cat and then science progresses and boom! - human clone to send off to work or do the other boring tasks! Helen’s library card has already developed teleportation skills.

Oooo at new Lego set! Quite jealous. Although I did get a set for my birthday.

Evening all. It has been a grindingly slow day, and I came home to DH working late with a 'WTAF' problem to fix. He's just finished. We're all a bit knackered and 'meh'.

Are you feeling better than you did this morning Helen? Must be something in the air as I was headachey and queasy and windy at work.

Short day so I made biscoff flapjacks when I got home. And after saying I’m never knitting another proper garment for myself (ie not a scarf or hat), I’ve cast on for another cardigan. I will never ever learn.

You do learn LetUs - you learn that you enjoy knitting, even when it's frustrating and annoying, and you like the cardigan enough to put up with and frustration and annoyance, so it's all good

Afternoon wenches. The journey here was a bit stressful. Twenty minutes in DH realised he’d forgotten his tablets. I’d got mine but he’s responsible for his and the multitude of supplements we take. So we had to go back. Then, after getting stuck in roadworks and behind tractors, when we were literally 3 minutes away, the road was blocked off with a ‘Police Accident’ sign so we had to go back to the main road and travel miles round the back route. Anyway we’re here and the weather is lovely although the wind is cold.

DH is still working, fitting some extra power sockets. He never stops. He’s been the same in the three houses we’ve lived in. The second one was a new build and the first thing he did was knock a wall down. I know I’m lucky, and I just let him get on with it, but I’m always surrounded by mess.

Very weird about the library card Helen.

You sound about as enthusiastic about a works do as I would Fancy. Hope it’s been more than okay.

I suppose I have learned a tiny bit with the knitting. This cardigan is a shorter style and is made with a chunky yarn so it’ll knit up faster

Oh flipping heck Apricot that sounds stressful and a half. Have a bottle of red, but a bit warmer than usual. <passes Screwfix catalogue to MrApricot> that should keep him quiet.

Didn’t sleep too well last night so am yawning away now. Have no doubt I’ll get a second wind around 10.

Ooof, that sounds like a really tedious trip apricot plus continuous mess of 'improvements'. Tedious.

I feel like I'm in good company on the 'meh' bench anyway - work, life, whatever.

Hope that the works do is more enjoyable than expected Fancy, and that LetUs gets a good night's sleep.

Very excited about pending wench visit , I hope Chonk & Floof don't disappoint. Last night DD & a friend were round - Chonk sat in the doorway while we ate dinner & periodically emitted a rather pathetic little mew - very sweet. Floof hid away. When it's just me he spends a lot of time rolling around in front of me - tempting me with curly belly fluff.

Afternoon. I am working. I'm just also losing the will to live. (Sodding finance systems - "Just do that..." except there are several ways to do "that" and picking the wrong one will create extra work for everyone. FML, etc.)

I suspect that the 'meh' bench is actually just the chaise re-covered and re-purposed (and elongated - chaise loooounge'?).

Glad it was a fun 'do' Fancy. I've got one tonight which at this rate will involve me being slumped at a table, having a good whinge about work. Aaaw at roly-poly Floof.

Afternoon. Nice sunny morning but when we went to sit outside after lunch it clouded over and we had to retreat back inside. Anyway I’ve been battling a ‘quick’ sudoku which was harder than the hard one but I’ve finished it now.

I ought to use the chunky yarn LetUs for a change. I’ve brought a ‘project’ with me that I started ages ago and was hoping for inspiration which didn’t come. I’ll knit up to the armholes and see what happens.
