<arf> at The Little Face Of Not Caring Quite right too, if they can't be bothered recruiting enough staff. <decorates accordingly>

I have had a rather manic day, which included no laptop until now due to taxi-ing, work, and car retrieval (now fully legal again). The weather has been rather '4 seasons in one day', though no snow. This morning's college run included live update from DS about where we were compared to the bus, which was on a diversion. As it turned out, being stuck behind tractors and bikes didn't matter, because the bus was somewhere behind us, stuck behind the same things.

DH has been splitting wood since he logged out of work, and so I have been stacking it. Such is the excitement of life. (Still more fun that the tax return!)

Evening wenches.

Parked up this morning and the heavens opened so I got a bit soggy walking to the office. Nothing nicer than sitting in an office in very damp trousers and socks for over an hour Hmm. Then work happened and people were annoying. It’s been windy and rainy all evening.

Have been knitting this evening but I’ve come to a stop as I’m tired and also not sure how I do the next bit. Hurrah for YouTube!

LetUsPrey · 12/09/2024 07:19

Morning wenches.

Perhaps I should print that off and stick it on my wall at work Helen Grin. We do only go up to A3 size though.

More rain overnight. Garden is now swamp like. Feel like I should be watching out for alligators or something, although obviously not that warm so probably just rats.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/09/2024 07:29

Morning all. Sunny here, and dry, but cold. Sympathies on the swamp vibe LetUs Could Aquaman be in residence? (Though I'm not sure he's on your List - he's Anne's isn't he?)

I was up too late last night, because I was being a cat bed and was too much of an idiot softie to move her onto the sofa. Paying for it now, <slouches across to the room to the matchstick box, dragging knuckles>.

ApricotCrush · 12/09/2024 16:33

Afternoon. Quite a nice day but still very cold. It's forecast to be 2 degrees tonight apparently. Brrrr. Warming up a bit over the weekend hopefully.

Misty has decided to go to sleep in a cat tree we bought her when we first had her and which she has been ignoring for the last two years. Strange animals.

LetUsPrey · 12/09/2024 20:22

Evening wenches.

With my luck, it would be Swamp Thing emerging from the depths and not Aquaman.

Just had torrential rain again and it went all dark (before actual going dark time). Harrumph.

Cat bed is an important job though Helen so you did the right thing. That’s sweet of Misty - love how she took her time considering the cat tree.

Telling myself to have an early night. I never listen to anyone though.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/09/2024 21:17

Evening all. It's been cold here too. Plus sun/rain/sun/rain. Enough sun to get most of the washing dry, then I had to run outside and get in the larger bits when the heavens opened. The socks are still out there, taking their chances with the weather!

We've watched another episode of Renegade Nell tonight, and Ryan Gage has just turned up in it.

Other than that, I'm being a cat bed again. <snort> at Misty's taking two years to approve of the cat tree Grin

LetUs - I'm not saying that you should have an early night, but Aramis is waiting in the hayloft Wink

Hope that Fancy and wicked are having a good week.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/09/2024 07:13

Morning wenches. Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired. It's sunny/cloudy/chilly outside, but not raining (at the moment). Intelligent cat has just installed herself on my lap.

Have a good day all, TFI, etc...

LetUsPrey · 13/09/2024 07:38

Morning wenches.

Had earlyish night but rubbish sleep. Woken up at 2 by agony leg cramp and then took ages to get back to sleep. I’ll sit next to you Helen and we can lean tiredly on each other.

Not sure of weather situation other than currently not raining.

Hurrah for Friday though.

Have super days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 13/09/2024 16:24

Afternoon. Quite a nice day, no rain, but still a bit chilly.

DH has got the sewing machine out and is sewing the awkward bits of the privacy screen for the caravan. I’m leaving it to him, he machines a straighter line than me. Hmm I’ve finished the knitting and now have to put it together. I must do that before I start anything new.

Have a good evening all.

LetUsPrey · 13/09/2024 21:14

Evening wenches.

Well done on finishing the knitting Apricot. I’ll take inspiration from you in finishing a project properly before starting another. <hides other three projects that are currently on the go>

Work was extra busy and I was dead on my feet by 5.

Watching a new detective programme - The Chelsea Detective. It’s good and not taxing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/09/2024 21:18

Evening. I've been watching 'Old' with DS, which we both thought was a good film. (I do like a 'WTF is going on?' film.)

Today was looong and a bit tedious. But all done for another week now - hurrah!

I've been taking a camera on my evening walks up the road so I can take photos of the wildlife. The wildlife has been conspicuously absent this week <eye roll> though the geese have probably been put off by the enthusiastic shooting that I've been hearing. Other wildlife has been seen waaay off in the middle of the fields, so not worth photographing.

Are you off to the caravan again soon Apricot?

LetUsPrey · 13/09/2024 21:42

I’ll look up that film Helen.

Have IMDb’ed Chelsea Detective. It’s on its third series so not quite as new as I thought, although apparently new to the channel it’s on now. Honestly how do I miss these things?

FancyFancy · 13/09/2024 22:43

Evening, it's been a bit of a busy week at work as usual, had a bit of a deadline on Thursday. That's out of the way, so now on to the rest of the stuff.....
Most exciting thing was probably someone in the office taking a shine to my Queenie mug and deciding to use it. Didn't think it was being used apparently Hmm Colleague put them right on that one.

Love that pic Helen, gets more relevant as I get older!

Ah the unfathomable minds of cats apricot - were you just about to give up on that cat tree and donate it to a shelter by any chance?<recalls cat bed that FancyCat ignored for about a decade>

Am jealous of your geese Helen, love the sound of them flying over.

LetUsPrey · 14/09/2024 08:25

Morning wenches.

It’s not raining, it’s quite warmish and I’ve put a wash out! I’ve probably peaked for excitement today.

Used your mug Fancy? They thought it wasn’t being used? (A feeble excuse). Unacceptable.

Going to collect new glasses today.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/09/2024 13:44

Afternoon all. could have sworn I posted this morning, but then I was rather 'walking dead-ish' so I'm also not surprised. The manshapes went off for their usual SportingActivity and made such a song and dance about getting out the door that I didn't bother trying to get back to sleep. Instead I have sudoku'd and picked fruit (which I must now process before it rots into seeping brown disgustingness) and exercised, and... stuff. Oooh. Mould treatment - I've put that on some patches of grimy sealant and grout - must go and wipe that off.

So, it's been a day (so far) of spectacular domestic mundanity. Obviously a HBF will appear at my door shortly to sweep me off to more exciting activities. Not.

Also - who is that glamourous stranger with the glasses? and utter <cbf> at the mug thief.

ApricotCrush · 14/09/2024 17:35

Afternoon. Nice day, it felt a bit warmer this afternoon when I did a mini-shop at Sainsbury’s.

We broke the cat tree up Fancy and moved bits of it around so she was using the scratch post parts of it, just not the bed on top.

We’re going to the caravan on Wednesday Helen, probably the penultimate visit of the year. Hope the wildlife put in an appearance for you. We often have geese flying over in formation, honking away. It’s lovely to see. I always wonder if they take it in turns to be the leader, or if there’s a hierarchy.

Ohhhhhh, new glasses LetUs, exciting. I still haven’t made an appointment, but I have chosen 4 possible frames from the website so I suppose that’s progress. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 14/09/2024 20:17

Evening wenches.

Yep, that’s me in the sexy varifocals which need to be adjusted because the nose pads are leaving huge red marks on my nose. Gorgeous.

That sounds an exhausting morning Helen.

I know someone who honestly believes that a goose and a geese are entirely different birds.

LetUsPrey · 15/09/2024 08:03

Morning wenches.

Back to the rain for today. Usual Sunday with added LovelyMIL for lunch.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/09/2024 11:10

Morning all. I had a lie-in - hurrah! (Woke up early but got back to sleep for once.) We have sunshine outside, and I need to sort out the fruit from yesterday to avoid the rotten brown sludge situation.

ApricotCrush · 15/09/2024 18:42

Evening wenches. Rain all day and cold.

It’s DGS’s birthday and we’ve been round there for a get together. We usually have a barbecue but not today. Hmm Anyway, he’s not bothered as he had a fun day yesterday with some friends.

That’s annoying about the glasses LetUs, hope you can sort them soon.

LetUsPrey · 15/09/2024 20:12

Evening wenches.

Rain also. Rain rain fecking rain.

Glasses a bit better but you can only really tell after wearing them for a while.

Hurrah for lie in Helen!

Happy birthday to DGS Apricot. It’s always lovely to get together.

Have visited and been visited, washed, ironed, knitted.

Have had a drink so am watching YouTube crochet videos, thinking “I can do that”. Spoiler: I cannot, in fact, do that.

LetUsPrey · 16/09/2024 07:24

Morning wenches.

Very foggy here but forecast to be sunny and 20° later.

Found out last night about more roadworks which start just as a current lot finish. One of the main roads is going to closed off in one direction with diversions in place, which go along my route to and from work. Pain for the people on the diversion, and a pain for the existing route users. Starts soon and goes on until spring next year. I understand about road improvements etc, but fucksake.

And on that whingy note of grumpiness, I’d better get a move on.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/09/2024 08:31

Morning all. I'm entertained by the idea of drunken, over-ambitious crocheting Grin

Yesterday turned out to be busy after the lie-in - we had a wood collecting/chopping/stacking session, fixed a bike puncture, did some work on a soak-away, and eventually got round to cooking up the last of the plums. Plus the exercise thing (but I've got nothing interesting to say about that because I can't compete with Apricot's treadmill rules). I was a bit pooped.

Crawled out of bed this morning feeling tiiiiiiiiiiiiiired and have shipped DS off to college with instructions to stop in and get my glasses fixed on his way back to the bus. (Spoiler - he will probably forget.)

What a pain about the roadworks LetUs Sad

ApricotCrush · 16/09/2024 17:13

Afternoon. Nice day. I did a Lidl shop this morning and a few other local jobs. Sat outside this afternoon but it was chilly when the sun went in.

Gosh LetUs, roadworks until the spring, that’s not acceptable.

I must get the treadmill down, it’s currently propped up against a wall. We don’t seem to be doing our evening walk any more. Hmm
