Layering up is indeed the best way to stay warm as the weather turns chilly. Fortunately HBFs also come with cloaks and coats which makes them doubly effective Grin

I’m off to the hayloft. Going to plant some Flowers in my garden

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 07/10/2018 08:35

Morning wenches.

Bit frosty here. I plan on staying in the hayloft with many HBFs. —why is that not an actual thing—

In RL, washing, ironing, homework wrangling. There is however a bonus sportingactivity as the DC are in separate classes again, although it does stuff up my Sunday.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/10/2018 09:58

Never mind LetUs - I'm sure the HBFs are happy to stuff up your Sunday Wink at planting Flowers though Grin

This Country - Melancholy/bittersweet? (Still without having actually seen it.)
Fer faffle Grin puts me in mind of the Royal Family actually, and I never watched that either. Hmm at self.

Athos knows I'm always up for it where he's involved Grin (Except just now my back feels a bit ouch, so current 'up for it' status involves limited movement.)

In the meantime, Real Life today involves trip out to NearestCity and bribery with book tokens if DS doesn't winge too much...

LetUsPrey · 07/10/2018 10:11

That kind of stuffing up is always welcome

Chickpeas - peas that taste like shit basically GrinGrin

Athos says you don’t need to move much Helen. He’ll do everything. (Crikey, that gave me a bit of a moment then)

I can also be bribed with a visit to a book shop. I don’t even need book tokens. Have a fun day.

PS - Bad Times at The El Royale is on at our local Vue LetUs, so expect it will be on somewhere near you. But there's nothing that grabs me for a spontaneous visit today...

LetUsPrey · 07/10/2018 11:09

Nothing listed at mine. Says it’s out on 12th so I’ll check later in the week. If not, I’ll just pitch up on your doorstep with my best sad face big eyes expression.

Excellent tribute by Fancy and fab new boots for wicked

We have done the bookshop thing. DS has new Skulduggery books, I have To Catch A King: Charles II's Great Escape but not from Waterstones because I went to my local independent bookshop.

LetUsPrey · 07/10/2018 17:33

Afternoon/evening wenches.

Lovely boots Wicked. Very cosy.

Excellent tribute Fancy. Very moving

Helen, Athos says he also shops at his local bookshop so please would you polish his halo for him

Washing and ironing done. Homework is not done. I am so completely fed up of bastard homework. Every piece is a fucking battle. And DS1 is whining about something. DH is watching the football.

I’ve put my headphones on and am using YouTube to its full effect.

Afternoon wenches.

I went to town again this morning, to get the hair colour which I forgot last week and which isn't stocked in any of the local chemists/supermarkets. I also got (excuse the C-word) my Christmas cards!! Badders would be proud of me. Where is she?

Lovely boots WW, I could do with something like that for when the weather gets bad, instead of the silly heel (I typed hell, and that's probably appropriate) things I wear.

I've been ebaying this afternoon, I keep buying stuff and the house is bursting. If ever we downsize I dread to think what we'll do. Mind you, I still have wardrobes full of the DC's clothes which they never took with them when they left. Hmm

Watched Strictly, particularly liked Ashley, Faye and Sean. I think Shirley needs danger money sitting next to Bruno. Grin

ApricotCrush · 07/10/2018 17:59

And I have no idea what falafel is.

LetUsPrey · 07/10/2018 18:34

I have sort of started some C word shopping for DS2 which is highly unusual for me, although it might end up as stuff for his birthday.

I need to eBay stuff but I really can’t be arsed. Again, how unusual for me —not even a bit unusual—

Bruno needs tying to his sodding chair. Shirley’ll end up with a black eye one week.

I’d heard of falafel but only because it was mentioned in an episode of Friends aaaaaggges ago. Didn’t know what it was then and I never looked up it Grin

Football is done. Everything else is much the same. I’ve been doing the crying laughing thing at Seth Meyers on YouTube Grin

Doctor Who!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

(Have Not RTFT)

LetUsPrey · 07/10/2018 19:14

We’re watching it later, you know just for a change Grin

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 07/10/2018 19:20

There's lot of falafel places in Uppsala where I used to live, I think it's a bit too dry for my taste. I love chickpeas though, I usually cover them with a vinagrette dressing and eat them instead of vegetables with food.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/10/2018 20:23

at 'polishing Atho's halo' LetUs Grin
DH was explaining a very important Hmm rugby league thing to me when I reading that, and he my have misinterpreted my smirk as being a smile of delight at his topic of conversation. Or, to be honest, he is more likely to have worked out that I was MNing and just ignored it and carried on enlightening me about rugby league.

I liked Dr Who, and most of my twitter feed seems to have, apart from one person who thought that it was ill-informed and patronising towards the north of England. Did see that myself, but feel free to enlighten me.

#fer faffle has also passed me by, I assumed it was something 'forrin', and I probably wouldn't like it. I think I stand by that assumption still.

DS would like me to ebay all the lego in the world.

LetUsPrey · 07/10/2018 21:04

That sounds tasty Wicked

Urgh at rugby league explaining. We’ve got some on now which DH has roped DS2 into watching. DS2 has decided he really likes it, although this may have something to do with the alternative being going to bed.

You know when they do a programme that looks round sleb’s houses and they have rooms for very specific purposes - like a present wrapping room or something? I’d have one of those but it would be for Lego. Everything perfectly organised and arranged. Bliss.

Will be watching Doctor Who if DH ever gets DS2 to bed.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 07/10/2018 21:59

I'd have one for hbfs.

Actually, scrub that. Every room would be for hbfs.
Maybe a different room for each one - themed?

LetUsPrey · 07/10/2018 22:03

I’m going to need a big house in that case. How many rooms does Buckingham Palace or somewhere like that have? That might do for all wenches. And I’m sure some of the HBFs wouldn’t mind sharing occasionally —they haven’t so far— Grin

Themed rooms

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/10/2018 22:08

Themed rooms.... Grin That's just a house, surely?
Bedroom - has bed.
Dressing room - for storing the HBFs' various different outfits
Bathroom - with spacious bath (as per Flake advert) and spacious shower with well-fixed rail to hang onto
Sitting room - with chaise and blazing fire and shagpile to avoid unconfortable carpet burns. (actually, shagpile all over the house in that case)
Kitchen - with convenient height worktop
Dining room - with large sturdy table

What have I missed? Other than the point? Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/10/2018 22:15

Also, crying with laughter www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3382707-I-am-MORTIFIED?
(I once used an old stocking as a hairband and forgot to take it out when I went out)

FancyFancy · 07/10/2018 23:14

I was thinking more along the lines of :
Aramis room
Vronsky room
Poldark room
Mitchell room
Chris-the-bassist room
FafZaf room...............

LetUsPrey · 07/10/2018 23:26

Recording studio - multiple
Tennis court with changing rooms and showers
Replica 221B Baker Street living room

In addition to all of the above of course (particular phwoar at the convenient height kitchen worktops)

We’ve watched Doctor Who. Really enjoyed it. Jodie Whittaker was fantastic and I was very excited to see that Alan Cumming is guest starring in an episode. As a northerner, I can confirm that I did not feel patronised and didn’t think it will ill-informed.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 07/10/2018 23:28

Oh yes letus, all kichen worktops will be at optimum height. All shower cubicles will be double and baths will have taps at the side Wink
