Layering up is indeed the best way to stay warm as the weather turns chilly. Fortunately HBFs also come with cloaks and coats which makes them doubly effective

I’ve done some Christmas cards. Present list almost finished and some more bought.

I think DH has given me his cold.

Instead I went out last night.

Also had to work today - boo. Not what I need when so behind re Christmas

I have new work coming in - also not exactly what I needed in terms of having time to do Christmas prep. But hurrah for my bank balance.

Wicked - Our stair carpet is permanently stained from when I tripped while carrying up a lamb-in-red-wine casserole. I think at the last house I also stained a carpet and the wall tripping over with a frying pan of hot fat. I also spilled coffee, but the carpet was already brown. I appear to be rather clumsy, now I think about it.

Excellent news re. the toy sales apricot - I got some down from the loft to sell. now they're just sitting in the spare room but I've done nothing about listing them for sale.

Back to the rodents. I am definitely catering. There were 3 bait trays out for them two days ago - just lightweight plastic things. Yesterday morning, 2 vanished - not a trace. So I replaced and refilled them. This morning when I went up, all 3 trays had vanished. I found one that had been dragged off the boards and into the insulation, but the other two were vanished without a trace. So they're basically treating it as a buffet/take-away. little sods. They're probably reheating their food in a microwave using the missing trays, and complaining that they don't have lids to match. FFS.

In better news, today I found that I'd managed to post overseas cards, without having missed their last posting date I usually send cards to Oz on the last posting date for UK 2nd class post But I have sent the cards in time for once. I have shocked myself

We're going to need a new thread soon. Just in time for Christmas. What Xmas-related innuendos can we come up with? Jingle Balls, etc.

Jaysus. Watching SEAL Team and wondering why we can hear what sounds like a baby crying on an army base. Then a huge thud from what sounded like upstairs. Checked DS1 hasn’t tripped over the crap in his room, then heard more screeching and thudding. Two cats were right outside the front door having a proper fight. I told them both to behave themselves and stop fighting. One wandered off, the other gave me evils for a bit, but I stared it down and it went on its way

letus glad it's not just me who talks to cats like that - apparently it is hilarious when I direct a raised eyebrow & a wagging finger at her while saying 'don't even think about it'. thing is, she totally knows what I mean, stops misbehaving & gives me back chat and then waits until I leave the room & does it anyway

DS had his Xmas play at school today. Awww for small squeaky children singing badly and giving me a headache Sadly there was no repeat of a teacher having to standing this year and declaring that the wise men brought "Gold, Frankenstein and Myrrh"
