noooo! not children!!! we don't want to stir up that hornets nest do we!!!

no i mean hands up if you feel those Sheer Blonde Girls "alex and Brit" need a good slapping! i have never been so irritated by an advert and find them incredibley frightening!... do people like this really exist?... i fear they have been to sulky smoulder school to perfect their stares to the camera!!!

or horrors of horrors.... does it really mean i yearn for 'sheer blonde' hair! and am just jealous!

I don't think so!!!

who else do you think deserves a good slapping!!!???

Naomi Campbell,Posh Spice, Phil Collins (actually Genesis in general) and defo those Sheer Blonde girls, especially because of their singing voices.
Are they a real band?

batey · 06/06/2002 20:06

Carol b**y Vorderman and "Trisha". Oh and that orange man from that lunch time antiques show. Think you've started something here Bea!!

Yes I like her too. She's clever and not a size 8 or 10!

My votes go to:

  1. BARNEY, that hideous purple dinosaur;

  2. Weather presenter on Central tv who ends each broadcast with a high-pitched, flirty "bye-bye";

  3. Amanda Burton for managing to appear self-righteous and priggish regardless of her role;

  4. Ulrikka Johnson;

  5. Jo Moore;

  6. Neighbours who selfishly lit bonfires over the bank holiday weekend, causing my ds's friend to have an asthma attack, covering the children and garden in "bits" and stinking out our house! (I know you don't know them, but I feel better for making this suggestion).

  7. Sorry, I can't stop.....Maisy Mouse....Lilly Savage....George Bush......Angus Deayton....Andy Pandy...........hhheeeeeelllllpppppppp!

sylvev · 06/06/2002 21:18

Obviously I'm suggesting the presenter of "Location, Location,Location" be spared a slapping and not Jennie Bond!

Ellaroo · 06/06/2002 21:20

Paul McCartney (he's so smug! and looks like a little weasel), Anna Ryder Richardson (seems to be on rather large quantities of drugs - no one is naturally that manic, surely?), also Eamon Holmes for obvious reasons!

jessi · 06/06/2002 21:29

Enid I like the location woman too, but agree about the other smuggy chops who did the designy house prog on Ch4, she was awfull and I thought the poor woman who's house it was showed remarkable patience! I quite like eamon holmes and penny smith, but I absolutely LOATHE orange antiques man. He was on Have I Got News For You recently and I had to switch it over as it ruined it for me!

jenny2998 · 06/06/2002 21:40

Agree about Gail Porter.

WideWebWitch · 06/06/2002 22:13

Oooh, lovely. There are so many people I'd like to slap too

Liz Hurley, Damien for god's sake. (sorry to anyone whose child is called this) Was it just to send a message to Steve Bing?

Jordan for being a silly tart

Tara Palmer Tomkinson: Polly Toynbee was so right to ask "what is she for?" in an Eve magazine piece.

India Knight: for epitomising Private Eye's "Polly Filler" and writing such dross in her columns in the S. Times

Agree about Barney, HATE him!

Ian Hislop for being smug

Right, I'll stop now. For the moment.

Personally, I loathe Fiona Phillips on GMTV - she's so smug and patronising and thin. Also, Diane on Emmerdale - I know she's only a character but I still don't like her - and Vanessa Felz (have I spelt this right?) and Carol Smillie (agree with Mopsy and Enid on that one)and Carol Voderman and....
Well, I could go on and on but I won't. Fiona Phillips is definitely at the top of my slap list though.

leander · 06/06/2002 23:14

Has anyone seen that cartoon something about Bing + Bong and also Pingu I wuold like to give the person who made them a good slapping these gibbering idiots just confuse kids.

susanmt · 06/06/2002 23:45
  1. Whoever invented that blooming bear on teletubbies - we have nightmares in our house about it.
2. Bodger and Badger 3. FIL (if you knew him you'd understand) 4. Carol Vordeman 5. Richard and Judy 6. All the companies that run personal injury/debt releif adverts.

Will that do for now??

Tinker · 07/06/2002 00:02

India Knight - eeuch!!!

leander · 07/06/2002 00:45

Charlie Dimmock

oxocube · 07/06/2002 06:57

Francis, the weatherman on Sky News. Can't stand him - all drama and pregnant (no pun intended!) pauses. Its only weather for God's sake!

2under2 · 07/06/2002 07:15

Bodger and Badger on Cbeebies - what a load of utter cr*p. Atomic Kitten would get a slap from me also... and whatever advertising idiot dreamt up the car advert (Fiat?) with the jet and the bridge - I mean, what point are they trying to make??
Have to say though, top of my 'to slap' list must be the celebrity mums who go out flaunting their perfect postnatal bodies weeks after giving birth. I swear they only do it to make the rest of us feel fat and ugly.

batey · 07/06/2002 08:41

Sylvev, with you all the way on Barney- he who has no elbows! What's wrong with Maisy, "Charie and Lula" were some of dds 1st words!
Thought of another, Sian Lloyd, weather presenter, now she really needs a slap!

Enid · 07/06/2002 09:36

Nooooooo!

Not Pingu!

bea · 07/06/2002 09:53

you can't slap pingu... he would be all misshapen if you did... and besides he is too cute to slap... so not allowed!!!

and since i started this thread i think i am allowed to dissallow this candidiate for slapping

(even though i think it was the creators who were up for the slapping!!! )

OP posts:
Tillysmummy · 07/06/2002 10:12

David Beckham with his girly voice - SORRY FOOTIE FANS !!

honeybunny · 07/06/2002 10:25

susanmt- oooh! someone else who thinks that the teletubbies episodes with the "bear,with brown fuzzy hair" and the "scary lion" should come with a warning attached. I leave ds1 for 5 mins to go upstairs and get up ds2 from his nap, enjoying, or so I think, Teletubbies, next thing I know, there are hysterical screams coming from the sitting room, with frantic "mum, mum, mum"s as ds1 comes flying out of the room to find me!! Definitely, a thorough slapping required here for the programme makers!!

Alan Hanson needs a good thump too. Although, of course, I wouldn't know, because I don't watch footie programmes.

Oh, and the ITV programmers who think that we want to sit through another full Eng v Arg match this evening as well. Havent they heard of videos!

Tony Jardin, while I'm at it, also needs a good slapping. Can't stand him on F1. Thinks he's such a know it all, and DC's (perleeease!) best friend.
Bring back Murray Walker, we miss you Murray!
