Crikey - Guess what MIL has done now!

Not only has she looked after my children whilst I have a day off as I'm a bit ill, but she's just TEXTED to say she'll drop them back later in their PJs ready for bed so I don't have to go and collect them.

Oh and she's had my dog all day too.

Sad

What kind of family did I marry in to??? What on earth should I do???

Good God! Is this still carrying on!
We all like a joke but enough is enough.
I think it's time for you and your DP to stage an intervention.
Get MIL round and have words! She clearly doesn't value you or your family at all!
If only you knew before you said 'I do' eh?

smackapacca · 30/11/2011 17:17

Well hindsight is a wonderful thing seasonsgreetings Angry

I think you should point your boney finger into her ample bossom and shout

'Oi! MIL! Stop it with all your niceness...Now!

That should get the message through loud and goddam clear.

(perhaps when you are really and truely better though, no need to risk your health over it, now is there?)

Seasonsgreetings · 30/11/2011 17:18

You have my sympathy!
Well, I suppose you've got all that time in front of the telly, without the children!, to mull over your decisions.

usualsuspect · 30/11/2011 17:21

Well I'm a grandma and love having my grandsons overnight,I even have them all the next day so my DD can have a lie in

so what do you think of that!

TheChristmasCountessOlenska · 30/11/2011 17:21

Grin Nice work ladies - Clearly a Mumsnet Classic!

smackapacca · 30/11/2011 17:21

Well I would shout but I'm pretty sure she'll bring the kids home asleep so that rules that plan out.

She's always one step ahead of me.

usualsuspect - people like you make me sick

Mine used to say that it was her job to pay for the children's school uniforms, winter coats and shoes. She'd give us the money even if we'd already bought them. Control freak. She didn't even ask for the receipts - we could have spent the money on anything - she just didn't care.

ImperialBlether · 30/11/2011 17:25

I bet your DD's on AIBU as we speak, usualsuspect. With good cause.

purplepidjin · 30/11/2011 17:27

usual you'll have to join In-Laws Anonymous with me Sad

MigratingChestnutsOnAnOpenFire · 30/11/2011 17:28

Usualsuspect, what kind of evil kick to you get out of peddling your control freakery???

I just want to understand why, oh why!!

NonnoMum · 30/11/2011 17:28

She sounds really controlling.

Why isn't your DH sticking up for you?

Why don't you tell her to f the f off and when she gets there, f* off some more - just like all the other self-respecting harpies on here.

pictish · 30/11/2011 17:28

Imperial I feel your pain.
My mil gives me vouchers for Next and M&S regularly so I can buy the kids any clothes they might need. How dare she tell me where to shop?!

Ds1 wanted football boots recently, and the witch took him out and bought him some! I mean fucking hell!

smackapacca · 30/11/2011 17:29

Wait - who let purple back in Angry your POV isn't going to be well received here ladies.

OP posts:
NonnoMum · 30/11/2011 17:29

I bet she's renamed the dog, too.

The caaah.

MigratingChestnutsOnAnOpenFire · 30/11/2011 17:30

Purple, is Usualsuspects your sockpuppet, eh??

smackapacca · 30/11/2011 17:31

Well mine asked what the children would like (gave me catalogue numbers on NEXT to look at) then ordered them and brought them round for us. Just like that.

OP posts:
smackapacca · 30/11/2011 17:32

Maybe purple and usual are the same poster. CAn we get MNHQ to check ISP addresses?

OP posts:
MigratingChestnutsOnAnOpenFire · 30/11/2011 17:33

exactly Smacka

Gapants · 30/11/2011 17:37

My MIL buys all her grandchildren their shoes, last pair we bought (£40!) and she put the money in my account as i would not accept it. Terrible!

usual if that even is your real MN name, let me get this straight, you love your GS, and you like to have him overnight to give your DlL a break. >

smackapacca · 30/11/2011 17:41

Yes and I bet usual/purple "play" with the children too.

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 30/11/2011 17:42

I even buy them presents Shock and bake cakes with them and worst of all when my DD worked I provided free childcare

I can't help being an interfering old boot

purplepidjin · 30/11/2011 17:43

I had the audacity to buy a Lego box for my DNephew today because he wants one for Christmas. It's all my fault for getting mine out of the loft for him to play with Sad

smackapacca · 30/11/2011 17:43

Usualsuspect I've reported your post.
