My two girls 6 and 9 think Disney life is fab!

I've had a right nightmare setting mine up so far! I have a Disney account from Infinity, so have to log in using that. I have, naturally, forgotten my password so have had to reset it, but every time I go to the reset link they emailed to me the page won't load.

Going to use my laptop later on and get it sorted.

My 4yo son tested this app.

Things that need improvement:
Need to be able to stay logged in / "remember me" to the app - kids tend to flick back and forth between apps and having to keep giving log on details was irritating

We already have lots of these films on dvd - so £9.99 per month seems quite expensive as there isn't much in the way of 'exclusive to Disney life' content to justify spending £9.99 per month. I suppose it is good that it's all in one place but there could be many more 'extras' to justify the price (games? Activities? Sticker books etc)

It's not really user friendly for young children - buttons aren't clear enough for navigation etc therefore it wasn't overly easy for him to use.

He watched Snow White and Mary Poppins and enjoyed these as he doesn't have the DVDs.

I probably wouldn't recommend this app as it's quite expensive for what it is (if you already have the DVDs for example), and it's not user friendly for very young children.

Mimsy I also had an absolute mare setting it up, but they were incredibly helpful on the phone, even staying late to make sure it was sorted. I'd give them a ring (after Christmas now).

Will post more of our feedback once we've had a bit longer on it :)

So far we have used the app a few times. Setup was easy but as others have said, the content wouldn't be worth £9.99 per month. A lot of the movies are available on Amazon prime and there's no Frozen!
If the app was available for smart TVs it would be a lot more useful to me as my kids are very young and not really allowed to use my iPad.

So far we have watched A Christmas Carol, cast to our TV from my laptop. We enjoyed the film but found it much easier to cast content from our phones using either Netflix or NowTV. Lots of Disney content is on there too.

What did you think about the range of content on offer on DisneyLife?
Huge range of films and some I didn't realise were Disney. However lots of content is also available on other services. Without the ability to cast from your iOS apps, this really limited our use of the service.

The ability to watch offline is excellent though, shame we would have to watch the film huddled around a phone or iPad. We like to watch films as a family (not to give DD to watch on her own on a device).

We were a little disappointed with the TV programmes on offer. None of which our 6yo was interested in watching.

What was your overall impression of DisneyLife?
We've got the app set up on our iPhones, DH's iPad and my Mac laptop. Disappointing that we can only cast from Chrome on my laptop but we can't download content via the webpage to view offline, you can only do that with the phone/tablet apps. Sadly you can't cast from the iOS apps, only android. So, we can only watch on our TV if I cast live streaming content via my laptop, and it renders my (fairly old) laptop useless for anything else.

I was hoping DisneyLife would be our saviour for our post Christmas visit to the inlaws, whereby we usually have to watch awful, straight to DVD films. Their broadband is slow and we've been unable to stream content in the past at their house. So armed with my recent Chromecast purchase, I was optimistic that we could download content for offline viewing and watch some classic Disney at their house. Sadly not, as you can only download content on the phone/tablet apps. As we can't cast from those, the service has been useless for us so far.

Today we have watched three films cast via NowTV on my phone (Night At The Museum 3, Into The Woods & Big Hero 6) all in our lounge, snuggled up on the sofa eating Christmas nibbles :)

We have set up parental controls which is good as I know she can only watch U rated content if she logs on.

Would you recommend DisneyLife to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?
We have yet to try out the books, which we will do at the inlaws. But currently I wouldn't recommend DisneyLife as you can't easily watch the content on your TV and the benefit over other services is the ability to watch offline content, which can only be done from the phone/tablet apps, not your website. This is hugely limiting as mobile storage space can be small, yet my laptop could hold loads.

Therefore your service is of no real use to us as we can more easily watch NowTV and Netflix.

DD wasn't interested in your TV programmes, they seemed either too young or a bit too old. We don't have your channel though so she isn't used to watching these shows.

On the whole, we're pretty disappointed that £9.99 only allows viewing on tiny screens.

I'll review again when we've tried the books and music options.

• Which of your DCs joined you in testing the DisneyLife?

My daughter (aged 9) and son (aged 7) tested this app. They created their own profile and started using the DisneyLife app taking turns in watching movies and reading books.

• How easy did you find it to use DisneyLife?

It was quite easy to use as everything came in a catergorized manner. The bottom menu was divided into five categories like Movies, TV movies,Music, Books and Apps making kids to select what they want to do with the app. The top menu was simple with a Home button, a search function and an account profile. The middle part too was selectable with all Disney and Pixar favorites including the Disney stars albums.

What we don’t like is the “sign in” details which fails to remember me in my own device even after using it a multiple times.

• Which films/programmes did you or your DCs watch? What did you and your DCs think of these?

My DCs watched "Disney Frozen Fever" as they were searching it on YouTube for months seeing bits & pieces here and there. As soon as they saw Frozen fever, they started playing it and enjoyed watching it.

Next, we watched "Honey, I shrunk the kids" streaming it on LG smart TV using Miracast (although it sucked my phone battery quickly) by installing the app in my Nexus 5 android. The app worked perfectly in all devices including laptop, iPad , Android including streaming into the smart TV - all using a single account.

My Dcs enjoyed watching their favorites movies using DisneyLife app. And as the app is still new for the kids to explore ( just being used for two days till now), it is too early to comment on the long term usage of the app.

• What did you think about the range of content on offer on DisneyLife?

At first look, I thought the content was less as I just saw about some 20 selected items in movies and Disney junior books. But as we started exploring it, we came to notice there were more books hidden under each character worlds too. My kids loved the audio books very much. Every book needed to be downloaded before it could be automatically played. The Disney audio storybooks are now being used in our daily bed time story routine.

• What was your overall impression of DisneyLife?

My overall impression of Disney Life was positive, especially for its ease of use and its speed in delivering the content. There are no unwanted ads to distract kids and there is no need of parental control for this app as the app was mostly kids-based.

But, it was very addictive for the kids and so the DisneyLife app can come in handy as a part of a treat or a reward for the kids.

• Would you recommend DisneyLife to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I would recommend it to my friends and family provided the subscription cost is reasonable (or) comes as an one-time paid download. First, the reason for recommending the app is that using the DisneyLife app for searching and watching Disney movies is better than searching YouTube for animation /kids movies as kids might accidentally stumble into unwanted movies or ads (especially the thumbnails). But, according to me there are two main drawbacks - the cost involved (£9.99) a month sounds expensive just for kids use and it also promotes kids to spend a lot of time using iPad for watching movies. So being a paid app, it can be best used on holidays or as a treat in between.

And finally, there is something you can’t miss in this subscription period. DisneyLife allows monthly free app download which otherwise has to be paid. We downloaded "Frozen Storybook Deluxe" by redeeming it using a free code using this DisneyLife App.

The opening sequence of UP. Not a single word is spoken but it tells a beautiful story. It is particularly poignant for me as it pretty much sums up my grandparents life and Grandad's death earlier this year. I must admit, it had me bawling like a baby when I watched it shortly after he died.

I also love 'Touch the Sky' from Brave as it really appeals to my loner nature!

I was so hoping to test this and got excited when I saw an email about this from MN. Sadly it was not to be.

In terms of favourite movies, I just love The Little Mermaid. Part of your World is lovely. I love that scene the most.

• Which of your DCs joined you in testing the DisneyLife?

DS1 (7) and DS2 (just turned 4). My friend's two children (4 and 2) have also had a good play.

• How easy did you find it to use DisneyLife?

Very simple once I was logged in (I had problems resetting my password as I set it up for Infinity and forgot it a few months later - the screen got stuck loading every time I tried, and I ended up having to use the laptop). I liked the fact you could set up profiles for each child too, which was useful as both my children have very different interests.

• Which films/programmes did you or your DCs watch? What did you and your DCs think of these?

We watched a lot of the short films - DS2 was thrilled to see Frozen and Toy Story shorts which he'd never seen. We liked the fact there were ebooks on there too.

• What did you think about the range of content on offer on DisneyLife?

It was a nice range, with shorts, films, books and music/audiobooks. It was good to have all of them at our fingertips.

• What was your overall impression of DisneyLife?

It's a nice idea, but I wouldn't subscribe long term as I can't see it being something we would get £9.99 per month's use from. We own most of the films already, and could youtube the music. We would consider it if we were going on holiday somewhere where we would need occasional entertainment, such as car drives etc. If they added Star Wars as a theme DH would definitely get a subscription and work his way through the stuff - with or without the children!

I loved the fact there were no ads and it was completely child friendly, but it did also promote a lot more use of electronics than we have on a daily basis usually. We aren't a family who has the tv on a lot, and I did get a lot of "one more thing..." whines from the children whilst using this.

• Would you recommend DisneyLife to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, as a short term subscription I think it's great, and there is a good amount on offer for entertainment. I can't see it being a long term investment as obviously it's more limited than Prime/Netflix/Sky, albeit more child friendly.

DD (4) has been testing and I have too

• How easy did you find it to use DisneyLife?

Initially it took me a while to set up as I couldn't remember my password from a Disney account (didn't even realise I had a Disney account, I presume it's as I may have bought something from Disney store online?) and retrieving it was a headache so I ended out logging in using my work email address for an easy life and set up a new account. Once logged in the navigation of the page was straight forward, and I liked that you could click on a character and see everything that character has on Disney life. The main issue we have when using is the logging in, it would be much better if you had the option to permanently log in from each device as DD needed me every time to log in for her, and we have issues with it logging itself out which has happened a number of times. We have been listening to music on the app and it suddenly stops for no reason and I have to log back in from the beginning and find what we were listening to. I have no idea why this is but it's really annoying. it happened when I was playing an audiobook to DD to help her get to sleep once and caused trauma as she was upset she couldn't listen to it.

It would also be really useful if I could have a 'recently played' list so if eyes something we were half way through or enjoyed I could see it easily on the homepage to finish it or watch/listen to it again rather than going through all the searches etc.

• Which films/programmes did you or your DCs watch? What did you and your DCs think of these?

We've watched a toy story, frozen fever (huge hit), some books (the simple ones that children can read were fabulous and we really liked that some would read the story out to DD, she loved this function), and listened to some Christmas songs (also great, although it was listening to this that the app kept logging itself out).

• What did you think about the range of content on offer on DisneyLife?

I like that it has lots of golden oldies and there seems lots on the package. It would be nice to have some games as well, and we tried to watch big hero 6 but could only get the soundtrack not the film which was a shame. I would expect all Disney films on DVD to be available on Disney life.

• What was your overall impression of DisneyLife?

Great idea but the lack of constant log in and issues we've had with the app stopping itself randomly in the middle of playing songs and audiobooks has made my experience more negative.

• Would you recommend DisneyLife to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would if the issues mentioned above were fixed.

5 yo DD and 7yo DS

How easy did you find it to use DisneyLife?
not very easy, apparently I already have an account registered to my email address so I had to reset my password in order to set it up.
As we were away for Christmas without wifi or phone signal we were unable to watch anything or really use the app until we returned.

Which films/programmes did you or your DCs watch? What did you and your DCs think of these?
So far we have watch enchanted, a few mini Christmas movies, Christmas carol.
My DD has enjoyed watching Sofia.
the DC have stuck to the programmes that they have already seen or watch on the Disney channel.

What did you think about the range of content on offer on DisneyLife?

There is a really good range, however for me and my family being Disney fans already there is not much on offer in terms of new things to watch. We already own most of the films on dvd and with access tasks movies and the Disney channel anyway I'd much prefer the children to watch theses on the to rather than a tiny device.

What was your overall impression of DisneyLife?

Sadly I would not purchase the app at 9.99 per month, simply because the children would not be not be interested in using the app for longer than a month anyway.
I have found the app to be perfect when we had a 4 hour drive to Scotland, as the children were entertained and were able to watch the content that had been pre downloaded but the app has not been used when in the home due to the children not wanting to sit and watch the content on the phone or iPad when they can watch the content on the tv.

We have downloaded the app to both iOS and android devices, I feel it works better on iOS and quicker. Downloading a movie on android took a while and seemed to crash several times, I'm still not sure if it has downloaded correctly to watch offline yet.

The free app was what kept my DS most interested, she downloaded the Sofia app from the free monthly section and was very impressed with this.
I think it's a good idea that a free app is given each month, however if I was to pay 9.99 per month I would be wanting the Disney apps to be included within Disney life so that my DC are free to lay on them as they wish, not wait a month before the can download another one.

I don't feel that as a family we would benefit from having the app and paying the monthly subscription.
I think paying a one off daily price so that you can download films for long journeys or times when you need to keep the children entertained away from the home would be a better idea, but as a family who have sky in which a Disney movie section is readily available then this would not benefit us in the home.

I also feel that the app is not as child friendly as it should be.
My DD 5yo had trouble in finding her way around the app and got fraustrated when she was unable to watch things without me having to show her every time.

My favourite Disney moments are sitting with my three darling boys watching the same Disney films that I used to love watching as a kid. Marvellous memories, creating more amazing memories.

My two sons aged 20months and 8years.

Once is gone and had a play around with it, I found it very easy to navigate and use.

So far we have watched Santa clause, and Peter Pan. They both loved it.

I think the content is great as there is a wide range of everything.

I think it's very good.

• Would you recommend DisneyLife to friends or family? If so, why? If not, why not? I would if they didn't have sky or virgin etc. As I think paying for this on top of that would be too much and a lot of it you can get on sky.

My favourite Disney moment is when my four DC saw the castle in DLP for the first time they just stood staring speechless for a few minutes.

The Toy Story's are probably our favourite films, we watch them loads, the bit where Andy is growing up makes me cry every time.

It's an old movie, but I was enchanted as a kid when Dumbo learns to fly for the first time. Still love the film now and have enjoyed watching it again with my dc over the years.

• Which films/programmes did you or your DCs watch? What did you and your DCs think of these? My daughter enjoys listening to the soundtracks and being able to watch the programmes usually only on disney channels.

• What did you think about the range of content on offer on DisneyLife? It offers alot and I think the price is quite reasonable.

I love Disney and Pixar’s animations – we must have just about every film in our house.
I think my favourite moment is in Mary Poppins; the ‘Spoonful of Sugar’ scene.
We have had plenty of tidy up bedroom sessions whilst singing this song.

I think Disney do the combination of live action and animation really well in most of their films – I loved Bedknobs and Broomsticks as a child.

How easy did you find it to use DisneyLife?

Very easy. My DC enjoyed setting up profiles for themselves.

Which films/programmes did you or your DCs watch? What did you and your DCs think of these?

They watched a lot of the shorts and some Gravity Falls and Phinius and Ferb. They loved the shorts, watched some of them over and over again.

What did you think about the range of content on offer on DisneyLife?

I think there is so much content, so much for the DC to look at, watch, download. It could keep them occupied for hours. It was a godsend Christmas Eve to distract them.

What was your overall impression of DisneyLife?

Very good, thought out app for Disney fans.

Already have. My 10 year old has SN and some of his friends would get enjoyment out of it.
