There has been so much huffing and puffing around the house about how tired he is that I think he wants everyone to know.

Stop press-mine has also got toothache.(it’s broken because he won’t go to the dentist)Well go to the dentist. I’m not. Well take some ibruprofen. I’m not,it won’t do owt. Can I just have some thing sooooooft for tea? Yeah some puréed ibruprofen!

Livelovebehappy · 10/07/2020 19:33

Or the ones who give you notice that they are going to be tired.

Me: let’s have a sort out of the garage next weekend. It’s piled high with shite.
Him: (in a pathetic exhaustified voice) I think I’m gonna be too tired....and the weekend after isn’t looking too good either...🙄

LillianBland · 10/07/2020 19:34

@Seapatrol

As a lurking DH on here, I feel I should defend my fellow menfolk... but I just don't have the energy.
Gives poor Seapatrol‘s brow a gentle mop with a cold compress.

Then slaps him around the back of the head, to waken him up.

LillianBland · 10/07/2020 19:35

Yeah some puréed ibruprofen!

🤣🤣🤣

RedLimoncello · 10/07/2020 19:39

Seapatrol please don this sleep mask lest this tiredness mandemic spread further.

@CaptainMyCaptain

Oh, the huffing and puffing! The deep sighs? What are they for? I never ask - I'm not rising to it.
I never ever acknowledge it. Especially as he complains about attention seeking in children.

Mine is so tired the poor lamb could only clear 3 of the 4 dinner plates leaving mine on the table, before he flopped infront of a film 🙄

FlamingoAndJohn · 10/07/2020 19:44

I’d like to point out that I was up at 5.45 this morning due to the cat jumping on my bladder. I went for a run then to work.
I do the same job as dh.

@Wiaa

I know why your dh is so tired *@ChocolateBlock*, he's also married to me Grin
Socially distanced air hi five. 😂😂😂
h0rsewithn0name · 10/07/2020 19:52

I think you're being a bit hard here. Do you not understand? Us females suffer from asymptomatic tiredness, therefore we don't even know we've got it.

The real martyrs are those that have symptoms.

spongedog · 10/07/2020 19:57

Thank you lovely Mumsnetters Flowers I needed this thread. It's been a tough week. I kicked my always tired exDH out years ago, but gosh this thread brings back memories!! #mumsnetclassics

FlamingoAndJohn · 10/07/2020 19:59

In fairness to my DH he is very good when I am tired. I often end up with a cup of tea, blanket and cat.

Fromage that is just brilliant! Yes, somehow after mine is finished 'tidying' the kitchen it looks like Paddington has done the place over with marmalade and tomato sauce. He then has to make the proud announcement how wore out he is and retire for an hour long bath, poor duck.

BruceAndNosh · 10/07/2020 20:11

Mine cut the grass and needs a Wee Lie Down.

I have intimated that some serious sexy time is on the cards, but only if we can enjoy ourselves on freshly laundered sheets, so he is currently upstairs changing the bed.
Result.

Guess who is going to feel "too tired" later this evening...? Grin

Mrsjayy · 10/07/2020 20:15

Crying with laughter here, cheers everyone. I've been single for a while now and thought about dating again, then read this and decided not to 😁😁😁

What was the incident?

DH never says he’s tired. There is much huffing, puffing and sighing in the hope that I ask. I never do.

OP posts:
Livpool · 10/07/2020 20:26

Bless

Hope he has had a nap 😴

DollyPartons · 10/07/2020 20:28

Please tell of "the incident" @GoldenHoops. This threads better than Netflix comedy drama, not sure if a horror by end of thread 😬

Cherrysoup · 10/07/2020 20:30

I want that on a tea towel, cushion and bedspread.

I can see a market for the matching duvet and pillow case. 🤣

2018SoFarSoGreat · 10/07/2020 20:31

@FlamingoAndJohn I have to say I am quite surprised that you would blithely go for a walk. Leaving him home ALONE. In his state? That is shocking. I'm quite unsure how to react. What is the right number to call to report your reckless action? You knew full well that we are ALL here - thousands of us - ready and willing (and indeed, fully experienced!) in the care and nurturing of The Tired DH. Sorry, The Poor Tired DH. You had but to ask. You didn't even.

Poor, poor dear. I hope you have at least ordered him a DGofD as an apology gift? Express delivery, of course.

Please give him my best regards. And my sincere sympathy.

:)

BurtsBeesKnees · 10/07/2020 20:33

Oh my goodness op, you are so unreasonable going for a walk. Have you not settled him down in the sofa with the 'poorly blanket' to comfort him in his hour of tiredness
