There has been so much huffing and puffing around the house about how tired he is that I think he wants everyone to know.

OP posts:
Ghostlyglow · 10/07/2020 18:19

I've got one with a bad back too. Huffing, puffing, sighing, grimacing and also refusing pain killers 🙄

plominoagain · 10/07/2020 18:22

Mine does the “ I’ve driven so FAR today “ sentence - usually from the sofa he’s thrown himself into “ I’ve done 200 miles today !” He is a delivery driver .

Yes dear . I do that mileage every day to get to and from work. Then I do a twelve hour shift driving on blue lights pretty much call to call without stopping , and my dinner is Haribos . Forgive me if I’m not running around getting your slippers and a reviving drink .

ChocolateBlock · 10/07/2020 18:23

@wiaa please can you take him full time Grin I could do with the peace and quiet.

Lucygucy · 10/07/2020 18:23

@Ghostlyglow

Why do they refuse the painkillers? If It's that bad then take the thing that will make it better!!
God he's annoying me

MessAllOver · 10/07/2020 18:24

You are all being very unsympathetic here...

The menz need love, care and attention (and a comfy sofa to lie on and mop their brows while the resident maid brings a chilled beer).

Women, by contrast, are robots (or rather 'wifebots'). They don't have feelings, don't get tired and can work 24/7 with minimal rest periods (homeschooling, cleaning, cooking and earning money simultaneously). If you can't do this (or complain about it), you are a malfunctioning wifebot.

Sounds like you all need reprogramming Grin.

thistimelastweek · 10/07/2020 18:25

OP, so sorry to hear your husband is tired.
Mine is busy don't you know. Very very busy! Too busy to stop and chat to the likes of me.
He's cooking dinner. (Like I do every other night of the year.)

PussGirl · 10/07/2020 18:25

My ex would never admit he was tired - tiredness & sleep were for wimps, apparently - but boy did everyone know it if he caught a cold.

He'd wander about the house coughing and muttering:

"Ahem, ahem.....Oh dear.....Oh dear me.... ahem...........urgh..uh, uk....oh dear me....ahem, ahem...

When challenged - "You moan and complain when you're ill"

No I do not and in any case this is not illness, it's pathetic

Billyjoearmstrong · 10/07/2020 18:26

Oh, bless his cottons.

Mine is always tired because HE WORKS, you see. He likes everyone to know that HE WORKS as this absolves him of any other adult responsibility.

I guess I should have told everyone HE WORKS sooner so you could all fall at his feet.

Nsmum14 · 10/07/2020 18:26

My DH is frequently "sleep-deprived" because he stays up watching YouTube videos. He works from home, flexible 35h week timetable. He gets really angry when I suggest he's just a bit tired from staying up late and being a man who needs more sleep than most.

plominoagain · 10/07/2020 18:27

Oh god !

“ I ache and I’ve got a headache “ - cue pathetic whimper of anguish learned from a food starved (not) Dalmatian .

“Have you taken any tablets ?” “Er , no ..... “

Because it’s going to magically cure its fucking self just by laying on the magical health restoring sofa isn’t it ?

user1498572889 · 10/07/2020 18:27

My husband was tired the whole of his working life. Now he is retired and he is still tired. I get home from work and he has his tired little face on. “Have u had a nap“? I say, no of course he hasn’t had a nap. Hmm his hair sticking up at right angles on one side of his head tells a different story. Still he manages to rouse himself enough to cook dinner so I won’t laugh at him too much.

jessstan2 · 10/07/2020 18:28

Tell him if he's tired, have a lie down and a sleep. You can do the same, maybe at a different time. It's natural to be tired but to moan about it constantly is not on.

I won't say, "LTB" :-). Not just yet anyway.

KatnissNeverdone · 10/07/2020 18:29

DH is tired because the poor lamb didn't sleep properly last night because he has a sore knee. It really amazes me how much he snores whilst apparently being awake.

SalemSaberhagenSpellman · 10/07/2020 18:32

It appears this Mandemic is getting worse, symptoms now include a computer related migraine. He hasn't had a migraine in his life. But I have been told he needs an early night so maybe suggest that to your fellas too? Then the sofa and remote are mine with a large G+T.
I love him really but ffs piss off back to the office Grin

LizB62A · 10/07/2020 18:32

This is one of the many reasons why I love being single Grin

My ex used to claim to have flu, he couldn't possibly go to work - poor dear.
And yet somehow he'd manage to drive 20 miles to a pub quiz.
That clearly overtaxed him though as he'd spend the next day in bed too.....

Lola001 · 10/07/2020 18:37

My poor little sausage has sore eyes! I am given regular updates

BeyondMyWits · 10/07/2020 18:38

Mine doesn't say he's tired since I told him to "go to bed then sweetheart" and didn't cook him dinner -

because it was early in our relationship and I honestly thought he was actually tired and needed to go to bed early. Blush

Still... bit of a result really.

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 10/07/2020 18:39

Surely this is code for he's planning to order take out so no-one needs to cook and washup - but feels he need to lay ground work and get you onboard before revealing the plan.

Or is my DH just odd.

SingleHandSue · 10/07/2020 18:39

Mine does this ‘puff out air and widen eyes with shock’ thing to indicate his tiredness.

Like he’s so surprised this has crept up on him, he was planning on doing so much but of course he couldn’t possibly ignore this sudden onset. Then I get fake apologies as he takes himself to his bed.

bitofasleuth · 10/07/2020 18:43

Mine has complained of being tired and exhausted all week.

Do you know what he's doing right now? He's gone out. He's gone to stand in his mate's garage (it's a big garage) and play the guitar. I mean, who wouldn't do that when you feel knackered and won't stop moaning about it.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 10/07/2020 18:43

My DH is similarly tired, and is angsty that we have to go to bed early as we have to leave the house by................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................1045am. It takes him a long time to get ready. If he ever starts identifying as female, and needs make up, he will never get out of the door. When he starts this dramatic stuff, I counter it by waving my hands in the air, whilst loudly whimpering, "Whatever will become of us" Victorian maiden stylee. Grin

I have a household member doing exactly this - but it's my teenage DD.

I fear we may have muddled our roles up Confused.

BubbleIsNotAFuckingVerb · 10/07/2020 18:43

Who was the MNer whose DH greeted her at the door with the alarming news that he had been "slipping in and out of consciousness"? She finally ascertained that he had, in fact, been dozing on the sofa.

I could lapse in and out of consciousness just reading about these DHs....
