I mean at least she won't get a duplicate and it make a change from 'best teacher' mugs?!

Asked ds what she liked - gardening apparently. DS's class is kestrel class so aha I thought. A little kestrel ornament for the garden. Except it is not little. No no. It is a gigantic genetically modified kestrel. Maybe she can put it at the bottom of the garden so it looks smaller?!

I love him! He's £29.99 on ebay though!

steppemum · 04/07/2017 16:57

Ursula - I love your chickens.
Now I want some, I need to get an Amazon wish list going.

Actually I have a load of John Lewis vouchers. I never buy anything in John Lewis, so I would love it if I could randomly order metal garden ornaments from them

redshoeblueshoe · 04/07/2017 17:08

I too have a chicken, I love the kestrel
I can still hear the children Good morning wind fucker

Has anyone name changed in his honour yet ?

gincamelbak · 04/07/2017 17:08

mad mags DD informed me that she had to give her teacher a robot. And that I was to make it. I can't really explain what happened in the end. It all got a bit big and I couldn't stop Grin

UrsulaPandress · 04/07/2017 17:14

They are lovely aren't they.

They make me smile every time I walk up the garden path.

UrsulaPandress · 04/07/2017 17:15

I think my chickens were from B&Q.

Cupcakey · 04/07/2017 17:15

I would bloody love that ha ha it's lovely x

Hulababy · 04/07/2017 17:17

I'd love it, particularly if you told me the story at the same time about expecting a small ornament for the garden or classroom and it arriving huge. It would make me smile and Id keep it in my classroom!

divafever99 · 04/07/2017 17:23

He's lovely op. He also reminds me of the professor from Bagpuss!

BitOutOfPractice · 04/07/2017 17:27

OP my DD1 would like you to know that she is in Kestrel House at her school.

altiara · 04/07/2017 17:28

Finally stopped crying after "wind-fucker"!!

I personally like the name Khan for the kestrel, it's just sounds so fierce and terrifying. Headteacher material.

You don't need to buy hats and clothes for him, the next intake of children can do that, it's a gift that keeps giving- there will be grannies knitting him elf outfits for Christmas and for the school play.

I wish I was a teacher with a kestrel Grin

SilverLining17 · 04/07/2017 17:29

Perhaps they should use kestrels as an incentive to get people into teaching?

Bit I think your daughter needs a windfucker of her own.

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 04/07/2017 17:54

Would love to claim it as my own work...but I meant I'd love to buy^ it for someone, just to see their expression!
(Is apparently made by an inspired upcycler in the States).

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/07/2017 17:58

They weren't when I shared the link. I was going to order one too Sad

I bloody love him!

Best teacher gift EVER! Grin

Eolian · 04/07/2017 19:12

Perhaps they should use kestrels as an incentive to get people into teaching?

Or to stop them leaving. Sadly I think it will take more than kestrels to do that. Maybe we should put kestrels in charge of the department for education. They couldn't windfuck it up worse than Gove did.

BitOutOfPractice · 04/07/2017 19:16

Having read about Beyoncé the giant metal chicken on Greenifer's link (which was excellent!) I can only conclude one thing

Sir Kittering Windfucker the Kestrel of Doom needs his own Facebook page

SuperPug · 04/07/2017 19:19

This is amazing. And appropriate.
