The Beginning

The Middle

The end?

So... Long story short... There are horses, soon there should not be (I'm not good at summaries, they make me sound unreasonable).

We have a date! This Saturday! The horses should be taken away to pastures new, so we can roam the meadow in gingham dresses (dh looks good in a gingham dress) and we can have FuckYouFestivals to our heart's content.

There will be choirs and drums and bands and weapons and stackable goats and so much more!

Anyone who's read the threads knows I love a lurker. I can you see you out there. Go on, jump in while the thread's all new and shiny. You know you want to Wink

OP posts:
Jux · 11/02/2014 16:14

Thomas, I already want a colony of quokkas in my bedroom. They can cuddle away to their hearts' contents. Will the cuddle cats too, do you think?

FYC, if I were you I'd grab all these new de-lurkers. Awesome sandwiches and curry goat (even if they do use the stackable ones) are not to be sneezed at.

icecreamcrackers · 11/02/2014 16:20

Place marking

LabMonkey · 11/02/2014 16:32

Delurking, I'm so glad this will be resolved soon. PND sucks and this can't be helping.

I'm sure loads of my Guides would happily come to your festival as long as there is noise and food!

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 11/02/2014 21:53

Marjory, No! Don't go! Stay delurked!

Strop, that's the attitude :)

Dejavu :) I'll do my best!

EauRouge, I really will enjoy it.

Lily, I wouldn't want to do anything to upset the horses and possibly put off the move, but I'll do a gentle jig. And champagne is a must! Sod valentine's day, we're celebrating the 15th!

Meerka, what a very lovely thing to say Blush it is nice to be amongst niceness. It's so good to know there're nice people out there (now come here!)

Frankel, definitely not a lurker. I very much enjoyed the image of you in the deck chair (sorry!)

Peeking, for all their accusations that I don't understand because (and I quote), "you're not horsey people", they are not in the local horsey community at all. In fact they have shunned horsey people for telling them that the kindest thing they could do is PTS.

Chased, fe-lurk away. I reckon it'll catch on :)

Jux, for you? Goats and trolls and quokkas. And an armadillo for luck.

ThomasLynn, if you could smuggle assorted wildlife for FYF that would be very much appreciated. But nothing poisonous please. We're about 4 hours' drive from London. That's not far!!

Thegreylady, I'll be watching for you. I'll stick the kettle on at the first signs of tendrils :)

Mistle, I so hope that I have good news for you. I know. I have horse boxed horses unused to a boxing before. But I can see UW flapping about and winding them all up.

Martinsheens, don't be ridiculous! A time?! Why would we have such a thing?! That would be reasonable Wink

OohAahBird, you're not allowed to go back to lurking after a post like that, you are very lovely, and I very much hope that you're right :)

Growingold,

Aderyn, adar aplenty :) sounds perfect.

Jux, that game is awesome, I play it with the dcs every Sunday morning.

Quintes, I shall endeavour to stick something in chat :) can someone remind me please?!

Winter, do you do knitting requests? Could you knit me a small voodoo horse? Just in case.

Exitpursued

Mootime, hurray! Thank you kindly! :)

Enrique, well spotted! Steppe, I may have a few other little things that need organising too...

Jersey, they will, won't they?! This is really going to happen?!

Slightlydampwellies, keep those wellies on, I think you'll need them.

Kato! Welcome! Now you have to stay forever Grin

Eaupea, you had me at roast potatoes. I cannot express to you just how much I love them. You shall be official roaster (that's not something rude is it?!) for FYF.

Lego! You're mad! That's a lot of reading :) you have definitely earned the right to attend. Any skills (no matter how tenuous)

Renter,

Angela, goat curry is a good excuse to sidle.

Stresshead, thank you!

Ida, goat needs cooking long and slow (I believe), we'll set up a cauldron full smouldering on a campfire.

Now I'm hungry.

Icecreamcrackers, will you be bringing ice cream? And crackers?

That's a thought, I can't remember if anyone is bringing cheese!! Wing defence?! Is cheese on the spreadsheet? We must have cheese.

Lab monkey, guides are very welcome. PND does suck and this has not helped at all. However, on balance, this thread has helped me so much that I think the horse fiasco ultimately comes out as a win :)

So... Did I get everyone? If I missed you I am sorry, it's been a long day.

You all look fabulous by the way. I love what you've done with your hair Wink

OP posts:
DangerousBeanz · 11/02/2014 22:10

Thanks for noticing the hair, highlights don't you know xx

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 11/02/2014 22:39

Dangerous, they are very fetching and knock 10 years off you... Unless you're 21, in which case they make you look mature and sophisticated Grin

OP posts:
GlaikitFizzog · 11/02/2014 22:58

Frankle, you can't have long to go now! So exciting!

FYC I knit and crochet, what do you fancy?? keychain?

MissHobart · 11/02/2014 23:03

I'm intrigued! Marking my place before going back to read the first 2000 posts!

Hope you don't mind me joining in! Grin

Scaredycat3000 · 11/02/2014 23:21

De-lurking here too Smile
So nice to read a soon to be happy ending. You have a great summer ahead of you!

ThomasLynn · 12/02/2014 01:12

The bushy, unbrushed look suits me doesn't it? Or is it the hot pink? It is rather arresting, no?

Jux I have never tried to convince quokkas and cats to cuddle. This for a few reasons. 1) The Rottnest rangers will fine the living shit out of you if they catch you smuggling them and I'm broke 2) my cat is a murderous bitch

Chris Having looked on google maps, using a totally random point in Wales and a totally random point in London, it says it's about 330ks. If we were talking WA roads and such I'd smirk and say "4 hours? Try 3," because once you get past city limits you can actually do the speed limit (or higher...) the whole way. However from what I have been told I should actually double the time and add 5 in the UK. And bring a van-weasel.
Is there a train, do you think? One where I won't have to change? I'm likely to get lost and end up in Edinburgh wondering WTF happened there.

Also DBF just made a whacking great batch of redskinshine so I'll smuggle that in too. In with the quokkas, in with the booze.

charcharchar · 12/02/2014 01:49

Delurking, just for a second to say that, (although I'm a MN addict, I hardly ever post) I have discussed this thread with MNers i know in real life and we couldn't get over the brass neck of it all.

Cheeky buggers! You have dealt with them well!

scurries away and rehides behind a large shrub but continues to peep through leaves at the action

PedantMarina · 12/02/2014 06:42

finally found fred 3! great picture glaikit. Mr FYC, you keep reaching for that rainbow.

well of course this is a nice fred, we have a very nice hostess.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 12/02/2014 07:02

Glaikit, that's perfect, make it so Grin

MissHobart, you don't know what you're getting yourself into! Welcome aboard!

Scaredycat, can I really start to dream of a summer of camping and bonfires?! It's not too soon is it?

Thomas, that sounds like good smuggling. There is a train, but you would have to change I'm afraid. No one gets into Wales without changing. It's that kind of place. You'll love it. It's very beautiful. One of dd's best friends' parents are Aussies. They came over for a wedding and fell in love ( with the place, not each other, I hope they already loved each other)

Char, :) I love the idea of random strangers discussing my horse issue in a heated fashion. You are welcome to hide in my hedge if you'd like? I'll bring you a cuppa.

Pedant, Blush, dh sings "somewhere over the rainbow" (the uke version) all the time. It's most fitting. Is there a Viking equivalent of the ukelele?

OP posts:
PedantMarina · 12/02/2014 08:15

just a little, very basic version of a harp, I'm afraid.

FishfingersAreOK · 12/02/2014 08:18

'lo.

Been reading this over the last couple of days and just got to the last post ^^ and realised it is this Saturday coming....arghhhh....was hoping, hoping, hoping for you that this had been resolved. But I shall be waving pom-poms and watching on cheering you on at the weekend.

You sound so lovely.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 12/02/2014 08:32

Pedant, I'm sure he could do something with it.

Thanks fishfingers :) I'm still sceptical about it actually happening without cockups and excuses, but the fact RL is going to be there gives me a glimmer of hope.

Quick update, they want to stick a horse box in the field on Thursday. Sounds like just enough time to teach the horses to be terrified of a box to me Hmm I hope I'm wrong!

OP posts:
ThomasLynn · 12/02/2014 08:48

If the horses were cats I'd say "Excellent idea! By Saturday all the cats will be in it and refuse to come out. Bravo!"
Somehow I suspect horses are not cats. For one, they don't use litter trays.

I have every intention to visit every place in Wales that can rival Muntadgin, Pannawonnica, Wyalkatchem, Mukinbudin, Doodlakine and Kellerberrin. I'm told Aberystwyth is a good place to start.

If I simply must change trains, can I beg on bended knee that an MNer from London comes on the same train as me and prevents me hopping on an express to the Isle of Wight?

IdaBlankenship · 12/02/2014 08:56

I was once on a train to the end of the line in Wales, t'was a little 2 carriage affair and it was a dark and stormy night. We ran out of diesel and had to sit in a siding for 2 hours until they could rustle up a little Ivor the Engine to come and rescue us.
The worst thing being that they turned all the lights off except these wee dim things and the only toilet for the train had those electric sliding doors. If you wanted to do a wee, you had to flash the carriage every 30 seconds and everyone caught a glimpse of your undercrackers through the gloom.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 12/02/2014 08:57

Thomas :)

I reckon this would be a very good place to start indeed Wink Grin

I used to live near the Isle of Wight too, Wales is better. Promise.

OP posts:
FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 12/02/2014 08:59

Ida, that is some beautiful imagery right there. Just to make sure we don't put Thomas off, I'm adding that I've used those trains frequently for years and that's never happened to me! although they are always late

OP posts:
ThomasLynn · 12/02/2014 09:38

Pontrhydifendigaid. Bless you. At least you can say Pannawonnica.
I shall trust you on train reliability, Chris. Let's face it, my other option is hitch hiking and my Dad would have a heart attack.

Are you near Aberystwyth? I think I want to go. But I can't afford fancy places to stay. I'm thinking more backpackers and camping as my pockets are once more, to let.

mistlethrush · 12/02/2014 09:42

ThomasL - you've forgotten the whole aim of the thread is to regain a FIELD... you know, the green, muddy things that you can put tents in occasionally... Grin

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 12/02/2014 10:28

Mistle :) indeed, a field. With it's own water supply Wink

OP posts:
EduCated · 12/02/2014 10:39

How have I missed all of this? Am tucked up in bed poorly and just caught up on all 3 threads seriously, I deserve a medal

If you're still taking bookings for FYF Jamboree, I'd like to bring 90 assorted Rainbows/Brownies/Guides/Rangers and leaders, please. They can sing a rousing rendition of Shark Attack, and make excellent eggy bread.

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 12/02/2014 10:54

EduCated, if they can make eggy bread then they have a special place in my heart. Bring 'em all. And yes you do deserve a medal!

Grin

Will that do?
